Used to frequent here as food was decent and service was usually quick and enough room to sit if you wanted to stay for lunch. However, I was waiting in line and the cashier, young kid, dark hair, completely ignored me for two other men that came in after me. The two guys stated I was there first and were super cordial and signaled the gesture "please so ahead" the cashier still asked for them, when they refused he rolled his eyes and told me to come over. I saw the disdain in his eyes and immediately left. I work in Downtown Tampa and certainly make sure to tell everyone about my experience here. read more

Loved the chicken pita I got on Wednesday and has to run it back and added banana peppers to kick it up a notch. The chicken pita is different but well seasoned with your choice of ingredients such as lettuce, onion, tomato, and so on. The service is quick and simple, especially if you know what you want. The ambiance is like your typical in/out restaurant in the downtown area. It's within walking distance to most businesses in the downtown area and also has inside seating if you care to Dine in. read more

It looks like they are closed for good. I went by Friday July 5th during normal lunch-time business hours and all windows and the front door were covered from top to bottom with paper. No sign on the door saying why they were closed. It is sad because I've been coming here to this store for many years. They were my downtown go-to for gyros. Always fresh and made to order. Okay where to start...we walked in and the person working looked almost pissed off that we walked in. No big deal, I get it, work is a drag and I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. The menu looked fairly tasty so it didn't bother me. I ordered the gyros pita, a veggie pita, and a cheese pizza. Fairly simple right? So I get the food, the gyros wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. Fairly filling but the meat was lukewarm at best. My wife's veggie pita was good. Nothing to complain about there. My son's cheese "pizza" was nothing but a pita and cheese sprinkled on it and melted. No tomato or pizza sauce. This is where I start to get irked. I will say, at least the cheese on there was very generous but I wasn't looking for cheesey bread. Now, in the middle of eating, the fire alarm went off and continued to go off for 15 minutes. Not to the owner or workers fault but a simple " hey sorry about the noise but there's nothing I can do about the alarm" would have been nice to hear. He looked miserable sitting behind the counter on his tablet watching YouTube so I just let it be. Next, I go to refill my drink and decide to get some iced tea. The second I start to dispense it, a flurry of fruit flies scatter from the spout. With no joke, about 5 dead fruit flies in my drink cup now. That's when I was done. Before I left, I was going to take my son to the restroom but my wife said "he doesn't need to go". After we left, she said she didn't want our son using it. She went in there and No toilet paper, toilet looked dirty, and sink was gross as well. So yeah, that was my experience. I can't say we will be back. read more

I ordered the Southwest chop with gyro meat. The gyro meat was very dry and the lettuce was one second away from turning brown. And there was a bug leg or antenna on my tomato. I accidentally confused this place with Pita Pit which is right around the corner and with much better food. I will not be visiting again! read more

I wanted to wait a few days to let the food settle to my backside before giving a thorough review to the masses and I must say it was a somewhat pleasant experience. I had the regular gyro combo that came with chips and a drink. Everything about the actual gyro was pretty good and I've actually been to Greece and had a real gyro which was good too! In comparison, I give it 4 Stars! I left one off because I didn't have clear direction on if I should wait for my food to get done or wait at the counter, and on top of that, I was never called when it was ready. I ordered my smoothie and as I saw them making it, I saw them pour a huge amount of dole store bought pineapple juice and frozen fruit in it. I have been a fan of this place since college, when it was just Pita's. It really has not changed at all, other than the name. It's one of the better counter service restaurants. The meat always seems to be good quality, the portions are huge, and they have a ton of variety. It's a healthier choice then fast food drive throughs also. The chicken salad and honey Dijon pitas are my faves - always good lunch choices. I would pick this over Pita Pit any day. read more

This is one of my favorite downtown lunch spots, especially if I'm looking for something quick and easy. It's not much for decor or ambience, that's for sure, but they have a great Meditteranean Chop Salad for lunch that's delicious and a great deal. For about $7 you get the salad with gyro meat and hummus and pita bread. All the food I've had here is consistently good which is probably why I'm in here so often. Went in to grab a quick pita at 4:40pm. Sign said open, door was unlocked, no hours posted that were readily visible. I was told by the employee that they were done for the day. Health Department take heed! This is the first time I've visited this location (210 E. Madison St.) even though I work downtown. I noticed there was only one person eating in the "restaurant" at lunchtime! The person behind the counter wasn't very friendly - looked like he could care less. I asked for the special of the day which was the Santa Fe without meat and asked for avocado instead. He grunted something like "sure". He was wearing gloves but nothing over his hair. While he made my wrap, I ventured to use the ladies room. To say it was a horror story is no exaggeration! There was excrement up the wall behind the commode. No seat covers, no toilet paper and no hand towels. I turned and used my elbow to open the door and exit. I had half a mind to leave immediately without the wrap but I was starving. I should've told the one person behind the counter about the deplorable condition of the restroom but honestly, I was in shock. I grabbed my order and left. As soon as I was back in my office, I scrubbed my hands with soap and hot water. I was able to eat the wrap and I have to say it was very tasty. I do think the health department needs to check out the premises though. read more

As soon as I walked in, I knew I was doomed. The place smelled like a dead cat. I saw a worker sitting in a booth without gloves or a hairnet playing on his phone. I ordered a simple banana smoothie, and I walked out with a simple cup of ass. First of all, the lid did not fit. I walked around downtown with this liquid garbage sloshing everywhere. I tasted the smoothie and when it touched my lips, I had an immediate gag reaction. It tasted like goat blood and llama cheese mashed togethed with the hands of a sweaty grease monkey. If I could give this establishment a 0/10, then I would give it a -4/20. read more
