Paper over windows w/advertising of upgrades to building.Hope something fun comes for students moving to new apts opening soon next store.

It looks like they are closed for good. I went by Friday July 5th during normal lunch-time business hours and all windows and the front door were covered from top to bottom with paper. No sign on the door saying why they were closed. It is sad because I've been coming here to this store for many years. They were my downtown go-to for gyros. Always fresh and made to order. Sorry to see them go.

This place is OK the food is decent but I wouldn't have high expectations when coming here you kind of get what you pay for when you see the place the staff is friendly and the food comes quick but I wouldn't choose this place as a go to

Not much TLC here- A collection of ingredients sloppily thrown into a small pita for $8.50.

Delicious, unassuming and high quality ingredients. If you're hungry and craving awesome Greek-inspired food, it's the place to go!

    Bug in my salad.......

Always loved this place until I almost ate a bug in my salad. They have to slow down and wash veggies

Pita's Republic has amazing food! The flavor is incredible! The chicken pita with tzatziki sauce is my usual order. For $2 more, you'll get Greek salad and potato salad on the side. The pita is warm and fresh. The chicken is real meat. The veggies are always fresh and clean. The I am thoroughly satisfied with the exceptional customer service and wonderful food- every time.

I ordered the Southwest chop with gyro meat. The gyro meat was very dry and the lettuce was one second away from turning brown. And there was a bug leg or antenna on my tomato. I accidentally confused this place with Pita Pit which is right around the corner and with much better food. I will not be visiting again!

Pretty for the good food! Server was clearly upset with me because I asked for my pita to be remade after I asked for no onions.

Loved the chicken pita I got on Wednesday and has to run it back and added banana peppers to kick it up a notch.

The customer service was genuinely some of the best we've ever experienced it was warm, welcoming, and so hospitable. The bread was phenomenal and worth the visit all on its own! We ordered two İnegöl Köfte plates to split between two adults and one child, and honestly, one plate would have been plenty because the portions are so generous. The köfte was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the rice was absolutely delicious, and the fresh salad was the perfect complement. I also ordered a side of chicken just to try it, and it was equally flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. For drinks, we tried the Turkish pear soda and the orange soda. Both were delicious, but the pear was my favorite and is a must-try! If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Turkish food with generous portions and outstanding hospitality, this is the place. We will definitely be back!

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. In the spirit of expanding our culinary pallet, we ordered two apps that were new to us. The Kebbeh was very good - i'd say similar to a meat hush puppy? Krispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. The Baba Ganju was different than what I was expecting and not something I personally liked (not any fault to the dish, I'm just a texture person). The chicken shawarma and gyro platter (it's a platter at dinner) were FANTASTIC! Seriously, so much flavor, fresh, the meat was not overly cooked. Everything tasted very fresh and we seriously had no complaints!! We also ordered a side of Batata, which are sort of crispy potato cubes with chili flakes + garlic - so good! I will say when we got there, there was a mishap and we waited over 20 minutes to be greeted and introduced to our server after we sat down. Once our server realized we were in her section, the rest of our service was amazing! I think that was just a one off fluke, and I would not let it negatively impact my experience.

Our server was nice and attentive and offered food suggestions which was appreciated as this was our first time. The lamb meatballs were not my favorite. If you are not a texture person then you will probably be fine. The whipped feta was definitely a favorite. Not pictured are their lamb chops with asparagus and potatoes. The lamb chops and potatoes were cooked and seasoned well! The only thing we wish was better was their bathroom setup. They have one single-occupancy men's restroom and one single-occupancy women's restroom. They do not keep up with making sure the bathrooms have toilet paper nor keep it clean. We understand it was busy but hopefully they can improve this in the future. Otherwise, I recommend especially when there is a dj!

Everyone was super nice and it just felt like such a lively spot. Our table got a bunch of apps to share along with a couple entrees and all of the food was fantastic. The sangria was also incredible and definitely a standout. The only downside was that the service felt a little slow, so in between ordering drinks it felt like a long time. I did not mind too much though because the overall experience was still really fun. Definitely a place I would go back to!

5-star update for one of my favorite Tampa restaurants! Psomi is a must-go for breakfast/brunch…read moreevery time I'm in town. I most recently took my sister here for the first time while we were visiting for a concert and she loved it, too! We started with iced baklava lattes and the greek donuts (loukoumades) drizzled with honey and this was actually my first time have these here. They're served hot and fresh -- absolutely delicious! When I want something light for breakfast, my go-to is the Everything but the Bagel yogurt bowl (house cured wild caught salmon, cucumber, pickled red onion, tomato, crispy capers, & everything seasoning). It's such a fresh gorgeous bowl, packed with protein. I also love their extra thick cut bacon on the side. My sis got the strapatsada which is a breakfast classic on their menu (greek scramble with caramelized onion, roasted cherry tomato, creamy feta, & grilled baguette). It's a very generous portion and she had a good amount leftover to take home. Of course, you can't leave without a few pastries for the road! They are a bakery-first concept and all of their breads and baked goods are made in-house. We got the baklava coffee cake and brioche bread pudding muffin to-go. Psomi never disappoints!

I ordered the shredded chicken salad, and to be fair, the chicken was absolutely delicious. My issue was that it was served over a basic mixed greens salad with very few extras, and paying around $30 for it felt excessive. The loukoumades (Greek donuts) were also delicious, but again, the portion was surprisingly small for about $16. One thing that also frustrates me is that they seem to be out of many of their bakery items first thing in the morning. They do warn customers about this, but it seems to happen consistently, which is disappointing when you're visiting a bakery and hoping for the full selection. The outdoor seating also wasn't the most enjoyable. It was quite loud, the seating wasn't especially comfortable, and there were a lot of flies, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. Overall, the food tasted good, but the value just isn't there for me. I don't mind paying premium prices when the portions, experience, or atmosphere justify it, but I left feeling like I paid far more than what I received.
