I decided to have appetizers for dinner and asked the two come when everyone was served with dinner. Well she brought out the bruschetta along with everyone's appetizers. I just took them. These were the smallest pieces of bread that I've ever seen. The tomatoes tasted a bit old and bland. That goodness they had balsamic vinegar on the table. 45 minutes later after 2 inquiries about where our food was we were served. My 2nd appetizer was served. Gorgonzola stuffed mushrooms. If I hadn't been so hungry I would have sent these back. No way was that Gorgonzola cheese! So bland, no flavor. My husband's bolognese was so watery and unappealing. He powered through again extremely hungry. Maybe it was an off night, maybe it is how the kitchen runs itself now, we will not be returning.

When we opened the pizzas at home we remembered they were what I call a Bisquick crust, not even close to authentic. The flavor was ok for me and my wife liked it. The salad looked like it was pulled from a bag, not trimmed with pieces way to big to eat and brown ends. Total turn off. To top it off the total for two 9 dollar glasses of wine, a cheese pizza, a vegi pizza and a bag salad with a 20% tip was just over $100 dollars. Ouch! Especially for ok flavored bisquick crust pizza. We will be back for sit down meals but will definitely not be back for pizza or salad.

We arrived en mass and were welcomed by an excellent staff at the door. As that our group for the most part were of Italian Mediterranean parentage all were pleasantly surprised at the numerous authentic dishes form which to chose. When our entrees arrived our group got very quiet-not an easy thing to do considering the persona of us overall. Excellent food, good wine, very generous portions with perfect timing in regard to the appetizers and entrees being served together. As we finished we asked that a glass of the chefs favorite wine be sent back in a show of appreciation. Slade came out and thanked us; we were surprised to see how young he was for the expertise in which he had prepared such an excellent experience. Naturally being the shy retiring wallflowers we are -NOT- we asked about his background and were pleasantly surprised again to find his culinary education had started with family and grown as he had. Needless to say, they have room for special events and private parties. So if you are looking for a venue keep them in mind. The Prime Rib was outstanding. Indeed, it was the best Prime Rib I have had in a very long time. Our waiter and the Maitre de were outstanding. They made us all feel so welcome and almost like we were family. We all are still raving about the Prime Rib. There is something so wonderful about a place treating you like family. The human connection is something we all want. It is so awesome to feel appreciated and connected to our world and others. The staff here were outstanding. Everyone commented on the service we received. The appetizers and salads were tasty. The family members who had the salmon said it was excellent. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Portions are generous. All of us remarked on how good the food was. Not to mention, the price was right. The ambiance might be a little lacking. There are no tablecloths. However, keep in mind that tablecloths come with a cost of their own. They need to be laundered and then some need to be replaced. So there would be an added cost. So the question is would you prefer a little more ambiance or a cheaper price for an excellent meal? However, if you are looking for excellent service with delicious food at a reasonable price then this is the place for you. Not to mention, that the drive to Carson is beautiful. We were told that the chef was on vacation. Should have just left then. Then after being seated and given menus, they came and took them back and gave us this paper revised menu since the head chef was out. Our actual waitress was Chelsea and she was fantastic. If not for her, I would give 0 stars if possible. The restaurant itself we really did not get to see much as we were tucked away in the 1st dining area by the entrance. No worries. It was nice and quaint inside and that's about where it stopped!! I asked about bread, and a different lady brought us 2 rolls that were barely room temp. Basically went from bag to bowl. We ordered our prime rib medium. As anything over that gets tough. We also ordered it with broccoli and when it arrived it had inedible asparagus. I mean they were so fibrous we could barely cut through them. Chelsea apologized and brough us out some broccoli on the side, and just like the rolls, it was barely room temp. Not her fault by no means. Now onto the very overly cooked prime rib. There was 0 pink in it. It was well done and very tough. It was also barely 1/4 inch thick. I mean the thinnest prime rib I have ever seen for supposedly being a 9oz. I have had 8oz at other restaurants twice the size of what we were served.. I managed to cut a couple pieces for my husband to eat. I dd not eat any of it. Basically we sent the majority of it back when we left. The only plus thing about this visit was the mashed potatoes and gravy. Still luke warm at best. I ate about 3 bites of food and was done with it. It was the worst prime rib I have ever seen/tasted in my life. Now Chelsea went and got our receipt for us, which of course was no charge, but if it was, I would have never paid 22.99 for what we received. It was that bad. Chelsea apologized several times and like we told her, you do not control what comes out on these plates. So yes she did get a nice cash tip for being such a sweet waitress and trying to do what she could. As far as the restaurant, we will not be going back for anything there. Today being Father's Day, we were out and about in town and decided we would eat there. The service has always been pretty friendly. The service today was adequate and I'll get to that in a second. My grandson ordered the pork belly, Mac and cheese. I kept saying how that is a really good choice and he's really going to like it. My wife ordered the half rack ribs with fries and coleslaw. I had what I think is called the butchers platter with ribs, chicken wings, and pork belly. The food arrived and looked pretty darn good. But that's where it ends. My wife kept saying how salty the food was. And I got to thinking about that as I was eating my wings with the so-called Memphis dust flavoring on them. Those were equally salty so I thought wow OK maybe it's just our taste buds. Then I tried my ribs and they were also salty. I tried my wife's ribs just to see if they were that salty and come to find out they really were and dry. The fries that came with my wife's food tasted like they were old like they've been sitting out for a while. The coleslaw was also bland. After bragging about the pork belly and cheese, my grandson stated that it was pretty bland with very little flavor. So I tried it just to see what was going on and sure enough it was really lacking something what I don't know. I'm thinking garlic because it was pretty darn bland. I honestly hate to give a review like this because I really like this place as I said before it's been our go to spot.
