This pizza is about 5/10. But it's the only pizza in town! PROS: - As I said, it's literally the only pizza in town. CONS: - The cheese does not seem real and congeals into something too shiny to be real cheese. The texture is odd. - Their "thin crust" is NOT thin. It's quite doughy. - The crust around the edges is too big for the pizza itself (less room for toppings). - There was hardly ANY tomato sauce on the pie. - Of the sauce that was there, it had little taste and no spices within it. Super good! Stopped by on our way to Mammoth mountain to ski. Employees are friendly and you get to watch them prepare your entire pizza with dough flipping! Lol. The pizza dough was soft inside and lightly crispy on the outside . They also have teenagers in the back wearing t-shirts to assist in the anti-bullying campaign which was pretty cool. I always stop here on the way to and/or back from Mammoth. It's a little pricey for what you get, but I absolutely love the pizza here. I always get the Officer Pino Special - your basic combo pizza but this one has bacon too. I noticed the bad reviews are for people eating the pastas and other weird pizzas. I don't know why this place has such a low score on Yelp. I've eaten at this Pizza Factory multiple times and every time I've been served quality pizza. Tonight, my boyfriend and I were driving to Bishop and hadn't eaten dinner yet. We called a pizza in near closing time and the employees were nice enough to make it for us before closing. Definitely recommend this place for any Roadtrippers, snow bunnies on the way to Mammoth, or Mt Whitney hikers (especially if you're staying at the Mt Whitney Hostel). "We toss 'em, They're Awesome" -- Not so fast there buddy! This restaurant doesn't quite live up to that motto. We ordered a Hawaiian pizza, which overall wasn't too bad. I certainly wouldn't go so far as awesome. It was decent, but forgettable. When I look back at this trip, the Pizza Factory is certainly not something I'm going to remember. Based on the food alone, I would have given this place 3 stars, but unfortunately the restaurant itself leaves much to be desired. Simply put, it is disgusting. The floors were incredibly dirty, covered in food, pieces of trash, and used utensils. The tables weren't much better. I didn't expect a lot from this place, but all I could think about was getting out of there as soon as I could. Definitely not somewhere I would linger longer than I had to. read more

We came in on a Monday night and ordered a large pizza while vacationing in Lone Pine. We arrived at 515 pm and noticed over the next few minutes it became very crowded. By 540 pm everyone else in the restaurant was feasting on all you can eat pizza, salad and breadsticks for a Monday night football special of $9.99 per person. We most definitely would have been interested in this. Upon giving our order it was not even mentioned and only a small sign displayed this special. Such good, good memories of this place! My family has been stopping here on our way to Mammoth for YEARS. Some things have changed, like the fact that my brother and I don't play in the mini "arcade" anymore (I ruled pinball, FYI), as we've since become boring automaton adults. The pizza here, thankfully has NOT changed as far as I can tell... I recommend the Officer Pino special - and I personally like it without the ham and bacon (less greasy). I guess that basically makes it a vegetarian pizza with pepperoni? Sprinkle generously with red chili flakes and parmesan cheese, and this will taste like the BEST non-gourmet pizza you've ever had. It's hard to categorize the pizza here; the generic toppings (bell peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, etc.) clearly put it in the family of delivery-style pizza but it just tastes so, so much better. A lot of it is in the crust, which you can see them hand-toss in the open kitchen. I love when I know my food has been made with tender loving care! It's more than just the food that has me coming back here, it's tradition. It reminds me of a simpler time, a time even before my time, in fact, because the decor is stuck in the seventies, or whatever era the Wonder Years was supposed to take place in... And I wouldn't have it any other way! Resist defaulting to McDonalds and check this place out if you're in need of a pit stop; you will be a better person for it, promise :) read more

My wife and I are Seniors and the cashier ask to see our ID when we ordered a beer! Also, every unused table was dirty, not cleared off, or wiped down! Pizza was good, not great, but just good! The staff also needs to learn the proper use of wearing food gloves. Despite the poor Yelp reviews, we decided to carb it up yet again before hiking. Pizza was absolutely horrific. Flavorless crust, awful pizza sauce, bizarre cheese with a horrible texture. Pizza was hardly hot when it came out. Vegetables were still raw and my husband pointed out the dough was not cooked once he pulled up the cheese. If the service was friendly, I'd probably show a little more mercy, but the gal at the front defined unfriendly and the other gal who brought out our food could not have acted more disinterested. Pretty much like any other pizza place. Service was slow. The drinks and salad bar items were warm. The pasta was decent. Maybe should have ordered the pizza, they look great in the pictures, but it's not what I wanted at the time. Not sure how anyone can really screw up a salad, but apparently it's possible. But let me explain, I was with 2 other guys and we just finished Mt Whitney (22 miles), no sleep for over 36 hours, no real decent meal for over 36 hours. So anything that was not a protein bar, trail mix, or snack like was of course going to be great (10 stars)! Now the real deal, if you like overpriced bad pizza, then this is your place! Ok, maybe it wasn't that bad but it was probably a 2.5/3 star quality. If I were to compare it to my overall pizza experience. But given the circumstances, I am giving this place a 4 star because of the relative competition and location. Since they are the only pizza spots in town, they deserve a higher rating. Now, if they were in a major city, this place would probably a lot lower. We got half a pineapple and basil/tomato (this was their version of a margherita). Also, my friend had a great idea to call in our order before we actually arrived so we could start eating, upon arrival. I called it in on our way down from Whitney Portal and it was ready by the time we arrived (20 minutes later). Timing worked out perfectly for 3 starving hikers. read more

I went to Pizza Factory after a somewhat strenuous day in the mountains. The beverages were cold, which definitely is worth a couple of stars by itself. I ordered the calzone to go with mushroom and olive. It took about twenty minutes which seem very reasonable. It was filled with toppings. The crust was thin and browned on the outside. It wasn't too bad at all. I think real calzones don't have sauce on the inside, and the dough should be different than pizza dough, but I wasn't expecting that here. It was good. There's not a lot else in town. If you're coming back after hiking all day, or for several days, it's worth eating. You can always get it to go and eat it while driving too. I think the calzone is probably more convenient for this than the pizza. read more

I have eaten here a few times on my way out of the sierras, the pizza is pretty good, never had anything else here. Food would probably be 3-3.5 stars with me. Biggest drawback with this place, is in the summer months when coming down from the mtns its pretty hot in Lone Pine, 90's and sometimes 100's, this place is just as hot, if not hotter inside. Another thing (and this is a deal breaker) last time I was here it was mid 90's out. Could think of nothing better than that 1st ice cold beer. When we sat at our table with our pitcher of Sierra Nevada, it was hardly ice cold, it was tepid at best. What a disappointment!!! read more

Keep driving. Customer service: The teens who work here have always been friendly. The women, not so much. Pretty rude, actually. Quality of food: Mediocre. Sometimes the dough is actually raw. I once had a large amount plastic wrap COOKED INTO THE DOUGH. The toppings are scarce. The antipasta salad is a joke. It is literally wilty iceberg lettuce with cut up deli meat and one banana pepper. Price: Rediculous for the quality. I am local, so this is the only pizza I have access to. I always stop by this place on the drive back to LA from Mammoth. We usually leave Mammoth at around 10am or so and by the time we get hungry, we hit Lone Pine. The prices are a little high but a small cheese pizza is around $9 and a large Office Pino Special (my favorite) is around $22. They also have a salad bar where you can get a small or large salad (1 trip only). The pizza is served hot out of the oven to your table and the ingredients are always top notch. The crust is nice and thick and fluffy. There's also a game room if you want to play some video games. There are 2 single stall bathrooms that sometimes get a little busy. They also have sandwiches and spaghetti and stuff like that but I've only had their pizza. read more
