I'm not big on pizza but Pizza Guys from Concord, CA pleasantly surprised me with the variety of choices, freshness of the ingredients and prompt delivery. Price is very reasonble as well. Lady who took my order was helpful and food was delivered in 45 minutes as promised - 4 different pizza's were delivered warm, fresh and the crust wasn't wet nor soggy. So I just ordered a three topping large pizza and well on the phone I had to repeat myself several times that I wanted olives pepperoni and extra cheese. Waited about 30 minutes got the pizza here and paid for it.The driver left, open up the box and there's no olives call the lady or call Pizza guys the lady who took my order answered, argued with me that we didn't say olives. But we did several times then she offered to cook olives and send over the olives. Now I don't know about you, but when you order something you expect to get what you ordered. When you call back to let them know or you know that they made a mistake they are supposed to be you know upholding their good customer service and making sure that you get what you order. this woman was not not doing that at all and she was very pushy and rude and yeah Pizza guys service sucks. I paid $28.99 for. 3 topping pizza oh and get! His she had the driver come back with a small cup of cooked olives. This establishment sucks. Their customer service sucks. I have ordered many times since the shut in. Liked supporting local places. However, the last 2 orders have been just ok. I normally order 1/2 of the specialty pizzas. However , most of the ingredients listed on the pizzas are missing when delivered. It's a yummy crust and delicious pizza when delivered as ordered. Having grown up eating Blondie's Pizza, La Val's and Fat Slice Pizza on Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley, CA, I'm very particular about my pizza, LOL!! It may not have been the NYC pizza standard, but it came very close! Now that I'm older and live east of the Caldecott tunnel, Berkeley pizza ( only south side La Val's is left :( ) is no longer an option. I think that my wife found out about Pizza Guys by chance, and it was a very good find. My wife and I try to eat healthy, so on those odd days when we feel like ordering take-out food, we usually give Pizza Guys in Concord a ring. Their gluten-free pizzas are so good, yet don't leave you feeling sluggish and bloated after eating 4-5 slices like you would with regular pizzas. There is a vast list of toppings that you can pick to make your own pizza, or you can go with one of their signature pies. Of course, the gluten-free slices are a lot smaller than the regular ones but a whole pie is usually enough to fill the bellies of 2 health-conscious people. The delivery time as well is excellent, taking about 30 minutes from the time I order online till the time the driver rings my front doorbell. Overall, I really love the pizza & the prices are good. I had an experience last weekend that really pissed me off. I order 2 pizzas,the total is $35.49,I give the delivery guy $36.50( figure a buck is a decent with a $3.00 delivery charge). He counts the money & looks at me weird,I think I messed up so I gave him another dollar. He takes it & looks at me again & I ask him if that is enough,he says sure,ok,$2.00 tip. This location is putting out a consistent and good pizza. This location is close to my work and I get pizza to go at least once a week. Check their "hot deals" on their home page for coupon codes before ordering. They always seem to have some kind of bargain going on. I used to love this place...maybe the ownership changed. I work near this location so we order frequently. But lately the pizza has less & less cheese, little sauce & way over cooked. I even found hairs! Plural! In my pizza. Very disappointing. Only go here if u have $20 & need to feed several people. Besides the 2 Latin counter girls, their customer service is lackluster (the management). I'm giving 1 extra star for past experiences. So, I had some expectations ordering this pizza...that it be good. I ordered a thick crust veggie pizza with the house salad. The salad was fine, nothing to write home about though. But the pizza tasted as though it was made on one of those crappy boboli crusts! So not worth the $1 extra I paid for thick crust and there really wasn't much flavor. It was edible and we ate it but I will definitely not be ordering it again. If I wanted Boboli, I would have gone to Lucky's and gotten it. I also thought that as far as delivery pizza goes, this one was a bit overpriced. I ordered it anyway as no one was answering the phone at any of the regular places we order from. This pizza is awful. My wife and I ordered two large pizzas for us and some friends. After a few glasses of wine the delivery guy arrived. He was right on time and polite. Once we tried the pizza, however- it was disappointing. The crust taste like a chewy, fibrous, soggy, smushed snack bread. The sauce wasn't bad, but it didn't make up for the weird crust. We ended up throwing most of the pizza out. I don't recommend this place. Maybe some people expect this kind of pizza. I'm not one of those people. read more

This was today during a call for pickup and the female at the counter failed to mention their promotion to get a free soda. I walked in a spent another 5 minutes to pay and wait for the guy to cut the pizza. The pizza was fine but the crew get an overall 1 start for lack of customer service and honesty. I don't tolerate dishonest or lazy people. Thanks to the girl at the counter who had plenty of time to run her mouth instead of the engaging in the customer and focus on the business at hand, the store will get this review. The green onions-mushroom and italian sausage-jalapenos pizza was super. Will have to order that one again. The pesto pepperoni was too dry in comparison so I'll need to work on a different topping and sauce combo. The employees are idiots, but the pizza is good. It took them two hours to deliver a med pizza, bread sticks a salad and wings. When I called in a second time (the first time I was hung up on) to check on the order I found out that "someone" wrote down both the wrong phone number and the wrong address. I asked why they didn't check their call log. I was told she would see what her manager could do and was again hung up on without a goodbye. Another 30 min and I finally get my food. This pizza was SO good. We got an extra large pizza, half Mexican Taco and half Hawaiian and it was really really good. Ive never had a Hawaiian pizza that good. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars cause it wasn't as cheap as we thought it would be, but it was very good pizza. We also got the garlic bread sticks and loved them!
