    Overeaten slice of Pepperoni

The pepperoni pizza was good. I dropped in because I was picking up a gift card nexr door. I will return to try some of the other options. The atmosphere was busy, but im sure very good for them. It's also a warm evening and everyone is out in Walnut Creek. Oh don't mind the photo, I ate my slice quickly.

I've tried several NY pizza spots around contra costa county but this has the be the closest you can get to NY style pizza. The airy dough, cheese, and size of pizza best resembles it. I ordered a classic pepperoni slice, Walker white (which was by far my favorite one out of the bunch), and the motorhead Detroit style pizza (not a fan of this type of pizza). Customer service was perfect and the cashier person was attentive to my party. But I can see it getting busy and crazy in there. The interior only fits about 15-20 max but they have an outdoor gazebo if you enjoy eating outdoors. I would recommend coming here but parking at the century movie theatres parking garage.

my favorite bbq chicken pizza! no matter the time of day their pizza are always consistently great. a slice on average is $6-8, a great place to get a quick slice. you can rely on a classic slice like cheese or pepperoni and also try something new with their rotating "slice of the day" but the service is lacking as consistency as their pizzas. rarely, are you ever welcomed in with a smile and it is FELT! to make matters from bad to worse, last time i yet this past weekend the cashier boy tried to YELL at me to get my attention and put his lil fingers IN my cup when handing it to me, yuck can't believe I'm about to say this: but if this spot had one of those large self checkout kiosk i would recommend slice house to everyone and their dog, but they don't so i can't

New York In Mt Diablo! My always go-to pizza whenever I'm in the Walnut Creek area! It reminds me so much of New York east coast pizzerias! Large slices, thin and lots of oil and flavors lol! My favorites are grandmas, Buratta, and wise guy! But I will eat all other types! I don't discriminate on pizzas from the Slice House! You should try it when you're in the area!!! Capiche!!! lol....enjoy your visit!

You can't go wrong with slice house!! We love the Motörhead and the Wise guy with regular New York style crust. Can't go wrong with their hot honey either, the sweet sausage and ricotta combination is also delicious. I would definitely recommend ahead of time, ordering online because the pizzas can take 45 minutes or more to prepare, especially during busy hours. If you do that, then you can beat the wait and plan ahead of time. Our go to pizza place in the area, high-quality every time!

We tried Slice House in Walnut Creek after hearing great things and because we already love Tony's Pizza in North Beach, so we came in with pretty high expectations. The restaurant was very busy when we went for dinner and the inside is pretty small, so seating felt limited and crowded. They do have outdoor seating, but the weather wasn't great the day we went. Our whole pizza order took a while and everything came out at different times, which made it a little hard to eat together as a family. The service itself was good and everyone was friendly. The pizza was decent, but personally we didn't feel it stood out enough to come back, especially with so many great pizza spots in the Bay Area. Overall not bad, just not what we expected.

    Lazy staff

We have been going here for years and it has been slowly slipping, but tonight was so bad. The cashier was not helpful, the selection of pizza was way less. There used to be hot oil at every table. Then(like I said we've been going there for years) that would give you some hot oil. She said "we have to charge " said no thanks. Then i went up to ask for some ranch and marinera for for the dry pizza they serotonin and I get a lady saying "we charge for the marenara and ranch" while I I had cash in my hand.

Very good hot slices. You don't have to buy a whole pizza. It's extremely good and very fast.

Hole in the wall pizza spot. Traditional pepperoni & sausage on focacciia hits the spot!

Love that they serve pizza by the slice! They offer 3 styles of crust: Detroit - square cooked in steel pans Grandma - thin square slightly pan fried Sicilian - thick and light focaccia I'm a fan of the Sicicilian style with pepperoni & sausage. Staff is friendly; service is efficient. Parking around the corner.

This place is a must for pizza lovers! It can get pretty busy since it's a little small inside but there's plenty of seating outside and some inside. The service was pretty fast and friendly. They have a variety of flavors displayed so that you can choose to get a slice or you can order a whole pizza. It also looks like they have different specials depending on the day. We got a slice of a NY style Wiseguy and a slice of the traditional Detroit style. The slices were huge and worth the price. Both were pretty good. Super flavorful, crispy, and had a good amount of the toppings. I will say that I did like the crust on the Detroit style pizza more since it was crunchy but fluffy whereas the NY style pizza was crunchy and a little hard. This is definitely a quality pizza place and will be coming back if I'm ever in the area and craving some good pizza.

Pretty good pizza delivered. Both of the ones we tried were delicious (Grandma and Sicilian styles). Toppings were quality ingredients that included freshly sliced tomatoes and basils. Really like the thick crust of the Sicilian American combo - will order again for sure.

Motörhead. Not just an English rock band but it's still music to mouth

We all have our one and done favorite pizza places, so when someone recommends a new place to go, all you hear is blah, blah, blah, yerble scrible derble... yeah ok I'll try it if you just shut up. It took me a month, maybe two or three months to finally decide to go, I hesitantly walked up to this place and ordered a Sicilian style Motörhead pizza. Took it to go, ran to Starby, got some lottery tickets, bought some socks at Target then went home. Time to chill. Opened a beer, and casually took out a slice to take my first bite. Dude!!! blah, blah, blah, yerble scrible derble. Damn it is now my most favorite pizza. Ranked #1 by committee of pizza experts, ok it's just me

Slice House by Tony Gemignani is a must-visit for pizza lovers. The slices are fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked with so many great options to choose from. The crust is delicious, and the quality really stands out. The atmosphere is casual and fun, and service is quick and friendly. Always a great stop for a satisfying slice!

I'm also curious about vegan options

Why doesn't this location answer their phone?

Such a simple and delicious addition to their menu, it gets my money every time. Both the service and ambiance can change depending on the day and time, but overall our servers are usually decently friendly. It is a family restaurant so we frequently sit next to crying/screaming children. Not their fault, but a note for those looking for a date night spot. The food is great. We get the fried spaghetti squares as an appetizer every time we visit and they are always a hit, especially to those that are new and visiting. As I mentioned before, the vegan ceasar is also a favorite. For mains I like to build my own circle pizza, and others in my group like the square pies. One of my favorite things about Melos is that I can usually request vodka sauce on my dish, whether it's pizza or lasagna. This makes my experience 10x better than other places. They also have a good ranch, which is key for a good restaurant, especially one with pizza. I do wish their prices were a bit lower, but overall it is a good place to splurge a bit. We will continue to return.

We ended with tiramisu (one of the best) and the chocolate budino, perfect to wrap it all up.

Service was good  The Valentines prix consisted of an app, entree, and dessert, some of which are not on their regular menu!!  -bread and marinara (4/5): bread was great, thick slices and nice crust. Marinara was standard -potato-leek puree (4/5): came in a cute little cup to drink out of, good flavor -gamberoni (5/5): prawns were a good size and perfectly grilled. The sauce was a good addition -polette (4/5): meatballs were juicy and the pesto was flavorful and creamy. Interesting thing to have as an appetizer though -fettuccini carne (5/5): I always have an internal struggle about getting a red sauce or a cream sauce, so this was the perfect option as a creamy red sauce pasta. Serving size was good, and there was also plenty of meat and mushrooms, which I loved! Flavor was great! -lamp chop (4/5): good grilled flavor, but one was slightly too raw for our liking so we had to send it back to the kitchen to cook it some more. Our waitress was very understanding though! The mashed potatoes and veggies were also good. -tiramisu (3.5/5): good flavor, but there was wayyy more cream than ladyfinger, so the textural balance was off. So capacity is very limited. 3) We ordered lemonade for kids. They serve it in short glasses filled with ice to the brim (despite our ask for "no ice"), effectively reducing the liquid volume. We paid $35 for lemonade. 4) Food is very uneventful, nothing was remarkable. Their gnocchi with meat resembled Chef Boyardee from back in college times. Not sure why this place felt so pretentious with really no substance to back it. With so many options around like Montecatini, Doppio Zero, Benvenuti, La Fontaine, etc, not sure how they are still in business. Definitely not recommended for families, and have a hard time figuring out what audience they cater to.

My only qualm, they charge for bread. I think it's an all time tacky move to charge for bread when the prices of your entrées are what they are. That said, be sure to stop in on Mondays, all day happy hour!

The biggest issue with this restaurant was the slowness of the service. We had an anniversary…read morereservation for 6 PM, and planned to catch a movie at 8:40 PM at a movie theater maybe 10 minutes away. Long story short - we were late to the movie. Our waiter left us sitting for very long periods of time between courses, and we actually had to flag down another server to get the check. For my part, I expected better than the food I received. My husband and I split the chopped Italian salad, which we both agreed was rather flavorless and definitely underdressed. I ended up pouring some of the oil and balsamic vinegar from the bread dipping plate into the salad, which made it a little better. I ordered the Tuesday Trio which was a sampling of three supposedly popular pasta dishes. The Tagliatelle with Ragu was OK but a little dry. The corkscrew pasta with sun-dried tomatoes and pesto cream sauce was actually quite good, but my biggest disappointment was their rigatoni à la vodka, which is one of my favorite dishes. This restaurant's version was heavily flavored with smoky bacon, which, in my opinion really drowned out the lightness of a creamy vodka sauce. It was also pretty salty - I couldn't really eat it. However, my husband's Pollo de Toscana was delicious. Overall, I was unimpressed. I know there are better Italian places out there. Probably won't be back.

Tomatina of Walnut Creek was unfortunately a disappointment…read more My spouse and I came to Walnut Creek with plans to grab dinner. We originally planned to grab boba and eat at a different restaurant but when we parked the smell in the air called us to Tomatina instead. We originally came in and the older gentleman said they couldn't seat us right away and to come back in 20 minutes. We didn't mind and took a walk around the block and was seated right away when we returned and he brought us menus. A waiter came and was friendly, making sure he got the order correct. It seemed like he may have been in training. We decided to each get a lemonade, share the meatball appetizer, I ordered the pasta trio and my husband ordered the chicken parmesan. The meal started out nice with the drinks immediately coming out and the appetizer shortly after. The drinks were good, however they were out of pint glasses and came in a collins glass instead. The waiter mentioned the lack of pints and the smaller glass calling it fancy but didn't reference if we'd get a discount or a refill due to the smaller portion as a result of the glass switch. The meatballs were tender and had a good flavor. The sauce was nice and the bread was serviceable. After we finished our appetizer, there was a lack in service for at least 15 minutes. They did not clear the dirty dishes, offer water, or provide any type of check in. While we waited, my spouse had noticed a pasta entree (and a salad) was put up and was placed on top of a pizza box. He didnt think much of it until we started to realize we had been waiting longer than felt appropriate and noticed it was 3 different colors, like you'd expect for a pasta trio like I had ordered. Eventually the pasta was removed and we gave the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't my food that had been sitting out for at at least 10 minutes and they were just slow. A few minutes later, a waitress brought our entrees and they finally cleared the appetizer plates. I took my first bite and my food was cold. Not it cooled down but was still kinda warm, any food that was exposed to air was physically cold to the touch. My husband tried to flag the waitress down that delivered the food and her and another worker were talking and looking at their register with no awareness of the rest of the room. Given the service thus far, I just got up with the food and walked it over. I explained it was cold to the point where I said she could touch it (I proceeded to touch a noodle) and it's obviously too cold to be served. She apologized and said she talk the the cook/chef. My spouse watched as she went with my cold plate to the open kitchen and it was clear that she explained I said it was cold but they were not planning on remaking it and just reheating it. A trio of pastas with 3 different sauces would not be reheated in a pan so the assumption is there would be a microwave involved. My spouse got up and approached the cook and waitress that reheating the pasta was unacceptable because if we wanted reheated pasta, we could get something from a freezer section grocery store. At this point the waitress seemed shocked that we'd say anything about them choosing to just reheat the food. After a few more remarks they finally said that they'd remake my food. But that'd mean I had to wait while my spouse ate or my husband would wait and then their food was cold when we eat together. At this point, the service was so bad and they made it fell like we were inconveniencing them by wanting at least warm food, my spouse said we just wanted to settle up and leave. Again it took them a minute to process that we didn't want to stay there anymore and eventually said we could just leave. We left and have no plans on returning. I would consider trying a different location since it's a chain, but I will not be back to the Walnut Creek location. I give Tomatina a very generous 2 stars for the service at the very start of the night and the flavor of the meatballs.

Menu items are on the high side, so be prepared to shell out some dough. We had a nice waiter, pleasant, cheerful, and very accommodating. I would give the waiter a rating between 4 and 5 stars. It was near closing time when we got there, but we didn't feel rushed to order or eat our dinner so that they could clean up and close the restaurant and head on home. We started with an appetizer and garlic bread (see picture). We had about six pieces of bread and as you can see in the picture, it was on the burnt side. I cannot believe that for the price you pay for a bread, they would serve this. I also ordered a black coffee, but it tasted like it had been sitting there since the morning and tasted really nasty. I asked to have a hot tea instead. Food was good. We ordered spaghetti, carbonara, some chicken dish, and a grilled salmon. All the food tasted delicious and we cleaned out the carbonara and spaghetti. After we ate our dinner, they gave my son-in-law a slice of tiramisu with a lighted candle. Overall, it was a pleasant evening and we enjoyed our food (except for the garlic bread). I'd like to see them do me good and give me a nice garlic bread the next time I eat here.
