This place was packed early Friday evening. We were seated quickly and service by Becca was wonderful. Love the family feel of this place and the pizzas were amazing! The sausage was hearty, the pizza sauce ample, and the crust was chewy and slightly sweet. Grab a container of house Itslian dressing for home! The interior is a bit dated and bar area small. New to the Columbus area and came across this pizza place just casually scrolling. This is hands down one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. I ordered close to closing time and the lovely cashier sherry (I believe) gave me the best service. The pizza was perfectly cooked and still warm when I arrived. First experience with The Pizza House was as I call them Scooby snacks. Leftovers from a friend. Even cold I was thinking how it would be hot. Make that trip and wasn't disappointed by any means! Great gem of a pizza joint. Had a couple appetizers, jalapeño poppers and snowball. The poppers were your average poppers, good but not special. The snowball is a meatball in marinara covered in cheese - these were outstanding and made me think about more for dinner. Glad I we did get pizzas for dinner. Great crispy crust loaded with toppings. Really liked the pepperoni. Not only a great group dinner option, but the pizza left overs warmed in the oven the next day were almost as good as fresh. Best Italian sausage in town if you are a sausage on pizza lover it is a must try they cut it really thin so it curls up like the old world pepperoni does and it's delicious, there pizza is delicious. Service is really good, very friendly, small comfortable dining room, they have a bar area on 1 side with beer and wine . I highly recommend! Very sad. Very disappointed. My pizza was room temp when I picked it up. crust was undercooked and tasted like a pre-bought shell. There was a lot of corn meal that I think dried it out, too. I ate the toppings (they were good) and fed some of the crust to my doggo. Most of it was thrown away. To add to my poor experience; the girl who was at the register was kind of rude and I'm assuming she also took my phone order, was not very friendly on the phone, either. Now THIS is some good Columbus style pizza! Pizza House was the third place to try on our quest for the best (pizza in Columbus). We ordered a 14" pepperoni, sausage, & mushroom pizza and an Italian sub with hot peppers. Pizza crust was good & crispy, lots of toppings, good flavor. The sub bun was crisp, but soft. The hot peppers added good flavor and it was well seasoned and cooked. Price is reasonable for the quality & staff was friendly. Wish there was a larger size to order!! My family have been customers of this store for decades. Sadly, it appears I am the last. I ordered my usual pizza and sub, these kids literally gave me a cold uncooked sub and had the AUDACITY to offer to "put a credit on the books for my next order" when I requested a refund- either with or without returning the ice box sub they handed me, this after the young man told me three times I ordered it. Bro, I've been ordering from this place longer than he's been alive I am fairly certain I know I have never requested someone to provide me a cold sub at hot sub prices. Carryout review. We get out this way maybe quarterly, but split our pizza business up between the neighbors. For dependability to be open, we choose this once a year. We splurged for a multiple item pizza on this last visit. I should have looked at the photos on Yelp first.(stop now and see mine) The toppings were abounding, like a clearance sale. Everything must go. Our layer of 3 toppings were as thick as the pizza itself. Thin crust, Columbus cut, with a mildly sweet sauce. It's not hand-tossed thick, nor cracker crust thin. Slight chew with a slight crisp from a evenly golden browned bottom(see photo). No edge crust for wasted pizza space. Sauce and toppings are right to the edge. Complete use of all crust space. Every piece/bite tastes exactly the same. The pepperoni was very thin sliced with a flat finish and a crisp edge. The sausage always catches me off guard. It's a small breakfast sausage link shape, sliced into nickle size medallions. The meats did not have a strong burst of flavor, but mere average. **NOTE for my future visit ~ More than 2 toppings should require extra cheese to hold everything in place. I give the extra props for the well constructed pizza box. Thick to provide support and contain heat. I will return if nearby next year, providing they are still open. My pizza search in Columbus has been up and down. I've gotten take out a few times from this place. I get that this place has been around for decades, and basically a CBus institustion, so they must be doing somethings right. But for sure, one thing they aren't doing is salting the pizza dough. And that my friends, kills a pizza. The crust is literally the foundation that makes the pie. The first time, I was like nah this has to be a fluke. But man, the subsequent times still the crust was still extremely flat. No, I don't mean height wise I mean flavor wise. So bland as there's no salt to help with flavor development. (So you know, attempting to salt the top of the slice does not help with the lack of salt in the crust). I'd eat this again but only if they start salting the dough during the mixing process. Or if there was a blizzard and my power was out since it's walkable to my house. Well, on second thought only if Leone's was also not open and I REALLY needed pizza. read more

The food has been great each times I've been ranging from the subs to the pizza. The pizza has a bit of a sweet sauce with a crispy thing crust. Its been a few years since I've been here and there pizza alone is a reason to come here! Oh so good. Its not a thin cracker crust pizza and not NY style. It's a great texture crust, somewhat chewy, thicker than traditional cracker crust, with an awesome savory sauce and fresh toppings. We started with 2 appetizers. 6 hot wings small wings, but nice and crispy with good heat. Ordered a snow ball which is a meatball with sauce and melted mozzarella. The meatball was only $2.35, but I wouldn't order it again. Seemed like a frozen meatball with salt over powering the flavor. They also have a great selection of salads. Our server Chris was awesome. He was friendly and efficient. Kept our drinks refilled and checked on us appropriately. For a Thursday night, the place was slammed. What an unexpected great dinning experience at The Pizza House. From the time we walked in with the hostess greeting us with a smile and casual professionalism. After seating us we liked the casual small ambiance of the place. Clean, small but spacious very simple. The waiter was great, he was attentive, smiled, asked how we were doing and kept checking in on us, but not too much. The pizza was fantastic, large pep and mozzarella sticks which were perfection themselves. As we left checked out the bathroom and that was very clean. We used to live in Columbus and this was one of our favorite places. I used to work near here and ate lunch there a lot. We moved away 7 years ago and every time we go back, we try and eat here. The last few times, we didn't have the chance. We went here for lunch with our daughters and 7 grandkids. Sounds like total chaos, right? Not the case. This pizza is awesome, really spectacular. My review solely is on the take out experience. Their pizza is so stellar that they don't need to do delivery service (Doordarshan, grubhub) which I get. HOWEVER they make it SOOO painful if you order pickup. Calling to place order (no online option) and then you get there and there is no process to pick up your pizza in a timely manner. Literally just stand in a line outside that doesn't move with everyone else that ordered pickup. Please please fix your takeout experience!!! It's really terrible!! read more

This place has been in business 60 years, but this was my first visit, and I'm 58! Because it is so highly rated, we had to try it out and they did not disappoint. We started with the Toasted Ravioli cooked to perfection and served with a balanced marinara sauce. Not too sweet or acidic. Then we enjoyed the old world pep cooked well done. Pizza is great quality Midwestern square cut pie. They give you the choice of traditional or old world style. Old world style is the bubbly crust so I was all for ordering that. The toppings we plentiful and everything was cooked thoroughly. We beat the Friday night dinner rush and it was starting to get really crowded as we left during the 7 o'clock hour. Service was okay.
