I am always on the lookout to support small businesses. This was across the street from Marianne's ice cream and thought to give this place a try since it was dinner time. They sell pizza by the slice or a whole pie. The slices seemed big to me or maybe I was not too hungry but I just know I definitely one slice too many. Wow. I can't believe this happened to me again. We're in the midst of restrictions due to CLOVID-19 and Pizza 1 has reduced hours as all restaurants who are serving to go, have done.I called about 7:35 and I was told, "Sorry. We close at 8. We're not taking any more orders. Then they should advertise the 'real' time that they close, which is when they stop taking orders. So we went down the street to Manuel's who actually MEAN what they SAY for their hours of service. This is my very favorite pizza, just wonderful. I wish I loved the service as much. read more

Pizza is ok. Like a normal American pizza chain pizza. Ok if you're hungry. I come in and order a medium pizza and a slice of cheese pizza and a beer. The medium pizza is like $25. Girl behind the counter goes "$56". I'm like hmm that sounds high. We take 5 minutes of back and forth to figure it out. Ends up being like $36. Ok but she already charged the card. She does a refund. Ok whatever. Bet you're she's going to remember me and the order right?? Ten minutes pass my wife walks in to check on it. Don't think they even started it. Never even registered it. Ok it's ready . But of course no slice of cheese pizza. Ok they'll start it now. There's more like this. You get the point. Hands down, my absolute favorite pizza place. My go to order is a gluten free Blues Festival with light cheese. The family love the cheese with pesto instead of red sauce. Regardless of Gf or the traditional sourdough crust it's the best. Another pizza on the rotation is the Corralitos with the cheesy bravarjan sausage and apple. It's a good balance of sweet and salty. Went there for the first time in Aptos today. The pizza was fine but the service was the worst I have ever had. We ordered a pizza and wanted wings also. They had no wings. Got a salad and then was told they ran out of forks. I was told to go to the restaurant next door and ask for them. I was appalled. She said 20 minutes for pizza to be ready. We waited for about 35-40 minutes for it. I went to ask the person who took our order because I figured she would bring it out. It was sitting in the to go stack. The place was not very clean also. I was truly disappointed with their customer service. My kids and husband have been to the one in Monterey and had a far better experience. The Monterey location also had way more of a variety of by the slice. My husband said if Aptos was the first time he ate there, he would never go to Pizza My Heart again. I usually never make a bad comment but it was a terrible experience. Also I gave an 18% tip when I paid. I wish I wouldn't have. read more

Don't understand past snarky comments about this place. It is a funky little space in Aptos that is really a hidden gem. (Right near the exit of the State Beach.) Granted, I just walked in and bought a slice.. . . Perhaps the experiences of other posts were from folks ordering a whole pie? In any case, there are several tempting choices that are fresh, hot and ready When you buy it by the slice. There's no waiting and unlike other places that serve by the Slice ( usually soggy and cold). This piece was delicious! There are spices, cheese and peppers to dress up your Slice as well. In addition there is a good selection of sodas to enjoy with your pizza. There is some seating inside, but I sat outside at a little table to grab some sunshine. The girl at the counter was friendly and upbeat. Pizza 1 is under new ownership and it appears some positive changes have been made. I will most certainly consider this as my #1 choice for pizza. read more

I ordered a thin crust small Corralitos Market pizza togo.. The store was cute and the kids working the counter were nice. It took about 20-25 minutes for my pizza to come out. I got home and dug in!! It was delicious; a mix of sweet and savory. My only complaint it one side had a way too large crust, only a little topping.. I remembered reading about this place on yelp so we decided to give it a try. Great decision. We ordered a half Monterey half combination large pizza and a salad. I was partial to the Monterey..Mmmmm those fresh mushrooms!
