Newtown Pizza Palace was exactly what we were hoping it would be! This was our first visit, and we went on a Saturday night at about 7pm. We had no problem getting seated, 2 people and a highchair. A waitress came right over to take introduce herself and get our drink order, and asked if we'd like some crayons for our little one. She brought the crayons as well as the drink back to the table quickly. She took our order, then what seemed to be 3 minutes later our mozzarella stick appetizer came out. They were looked a little different than the normal breadcrumb breaded moss sticks, but these were actually much bigger and delicious. Our app plates were promptly cleared once we finished, and our dinner was brought out shortly after. We ordered a chicken finger kids meal, and a pizza with pepperoni, sausage and meatball. Everything was piping hot. The pizza was excellent. Perfect amount of everything on it; sauce, cheese, toppings. Our little one enjoyed his 3 large chicken fingers, and we all tried the fries which were very crispy and delicious. Pizza Palace seems like the perfect family restaurant to bring kids, where you don't need to worry about yours being too loud, because the next table over has kids too. I love this restaurant. Wonderful, friendly staff. The food is delectable. Portion sizes are more than ample for sharing, but get your own because you will enjoy every bite. If you like thick-crust cheesy pizza, this is your place! The restaurant had changed owners a while back and the new owners changed the ingredients so the pizza tasted like cardboard with plastic on top. It was so disappointing since Pizza Palace had always been our go-to place for pizza. We stopped going. Fast forward to now and we decided to give them another chance and had read in the paper that they had returned to their previous ingredients ,and it's true! We have been dining for a long time. It is a great meal for the price and a great family place. We eat there with our young kids often and the owners are so sweet.. This is your basic good pizza restaurant and is one of our regular restaurant stops. Great place to bring kids. Very friendly staff. Has a real family feel. Might want to check and see if a local children's sports team is celebrating there on the weekend. This happened on a recent visit where it got quite loud mostly because parents were letting their kids run all over the place. Staff was tolerant. Quiet on a recent Wednesday night. The Special is our favorite pizza and we always order the large so we can take some home. The pizza is delicious, freezes well, and is great reheated. The small salads are large enough for two people. Caesar salad was good but dressing was a little too thick with mayo. We will be back as soon as our leftover pizza is gone! read more

This place has not been the same since the new owners took over. Yes, they are friendly but the food ingredients are different. The pizza is not great (sauce and cheese different). In addition, inside the place is outdated and needs a makeover. If you go, the soups are still good. Overall, with so many choices of Italian in town, I have trouble coming back here. read more

Newtown's Pizza Palace should be the standard that all other pizza places are all graded by. The pizza is amazing; the best I've ever had anywhere. My parents live in the Danbury/Waterbury area, and whenever I visit them NPP's the one place we always HAVE to eat at. We've been getting the takeout Special pizza for years. It's a great pie: great thick crust, and generous and tasty toppings. I'd highly recommend this. It's a while since we've eaten in the restaurant but our prior experience was great. Pizza Palace is definitely worth a visit. read more

While I have not yet had everything on the menu.... I have eaten here numerous times and the food, service, and general atmosphere was good. Everyone there is professional and courteous, and the dining area is tidy and clean. I would say they are above average for a standard pizza place and I will continue to eat there whenever I am in the area. I cannot honestly see why anyone would give this place single star, if they have not already done so I highly encourage these individuals to eat there again or try some other items. read more
