They have a great salad bar. I like to come here and just eat a nice big salad. But they also include an all you can eat pasta bar as well as pizza. Of course. I love the garlic knots dipped in marinara and Alfredo sauce. The pizza isn't usually super fresh unless you get there during busy times. So I usually stick to the salad bar and garlic knots. I'm a returning customer. My family loves to eat here but after tonight we will NEVER return. I especially like the spicy sausage sauce but tonight it has a very odd taste. I politely walked my entire plate minus one bite up to the manager JAMES and told him that I usually love that sauce but something wasn't right tonight. He grabbed my plate and said okay. I thought that was the end of it. I went to get a plate of meat marinara instead. While I was waiting for my noodles, the manager JAMES proceeded to harass me in front of all the employees and customers. He said "You don't look very happy. You could go to Chuck-a-rama." At this point I was done. I didn't wait for my noodles. I was so embarrassed. I asked for his name. He said "It's James. Just like it says on the wall" I asked the girl at the register for a Managers phone number. She said I can't give you that information and went and got James. Of course by now I have vented to my husband and he is upset. He tries to have a conversation with James and James refuses to hear anything we have to say. I have worked in management and would never treat a customer this way. I tried to call Jonas. The name that James gave to me and got no response. I'm very disappointed. It's sad when a bad manager can ruin one of your families favorite places to eat. If someone else opened a pizza buffet, they would put this place out of business. First time eating here with my husband. The guy at the register was super nice and explained everything to us. Went to find a seat and they were all dirty except one. Salad bar was all empty and food everywhere. I asked the lady for new salad and she seemed annoyed that I asked. The lettuce was brown and wilted. The pizza however it looked old but it was surprisingly good. Not sure we would come back due to the lack of cleanliness. So let's evaluate Pizza Pie Cafe on a cost to quality ratio. I tried their penne with roasted red pepper sauce (which is their take on vodka sauce, god forbid you call anything Vodka in Utah) and also penne with meat marinara. It probably wasn't that great but it sure was to me. PPC is entirely staffed by teenagers sooooo.... enough said. I asked the pasta maid if she could refill the mozzarella bin. Maybe she was too focused on the blood coming out of my eyes or maybe I asked her in Japanese - I don't know - but she looked at me as if it was the most unreasonable request she's ever gotten in her whole 3 weeks on the job. She eventually said something along the lines of she'd have to go find it which in teenage lalaland took about 15 minutes. I was already done with seconds by then. Case in point, make due with what you've got in front of you. I also ravaged their salad bar which I do remember being a bit disappointing; not because I would naturally expect greatness but because someone wrote a review calling it amazing. I'm not sure pineapple triangles, shredded cheddar cheese, canned beets and cubed ham options quite meet the amazing standard. I was trying to eat salad and realized my fork was crusty and hadn't been fully cleaned. Went to grab another one... hair stuck to it, another one... more hair stuck to it... another one.... Someone's old food stuck to it. Very very unclean. While i was eating my dessert pizza for dinner the kid cleaning came and grabbed it while i was still eating and threw it away then laughed. Our kids love pizza. I was wanting a salad. So, here we are. It's about 7pm on a Saturday and the place is pretty packed. This is a buffet. I'm not too keen on buffets, due to the people watching factor. Watching people cough on their hand, use the tongs and those same tongs fall into the food... yuck. The seating in this place is pretty separate from the food. Which makes it much harder to people watch the food line, which I actually appreciate. Something about, out of sight, out of mind? I know. I know. I'm crazy. It just tends to gross me out.... Anyway... the kids that work here are walking around asking to clear plates pretty quick. Which is great. First, let me say that I only go here occasionally as a special treat for my now-10 year old who likes picking out her own pizza. I am measuring it against itself on previous visits and against other similar places, not higher end pizza joints. This was my first visit since the location got new management. It was, by far, my WORST experience there ever (and again, my expectations are low for the place in general). Even my kid said, "Pull it together, Pizza Pie Cafe!" I had 3 slices of DIFFERENT pizzas and all 3 were actually cold in the middle because the had been sitting for so long. Despite being under heat lamps, the cheese was hard and not melty and the pizza was cold. Not un-hot, cold. Some things (garlic knots, cheese sticks) remained empty for 20+ minutes. The marinara sauce was practically empty and it was only 5pm. There was no ice in the soda machine and the vanilla flavoring was empty. I never complain, but actually think I might try to figure out how to contact the management. There was not an adult employee in the place, so it seemed pointless to complain to one of the high school kids. My first job was at Chuck E. Cheese and most of the employees were high school kids. But we certainly had adult managers present to make sure things ran smoothly! I don't even think the 10 year old will want to go back after tonight. We came around 7:45 pm. Not even close to closing at 10 pm. There were dirty plates stacked and falling off the counter and the trash can overflowing near the front entrance. Food and trash all over the floor up and down the whole restaurant. The salad bar looked like someone had tossed it all over the bar and the toppings were a mess. The salad plates had yellow grease and unwashed food on them. No clean pizza plates left or being washed. They told us they were running low. How about washing some??? The kids preparing the food behind the counter were having a flour fight and goofing off. No fresh pizza ready only a few dried up slices. We got our money back and won't go there again. Well I decided to give this place another chance my daughter was begging me. Big mistake we waited for someone to take my money for long enough that I thought about just walking in. After we finally paid there was hardly any pizza out and the salad bar was out of salad. So we were left with pasta after we finished our pasta still no pizza up. There were some garlic knots so we tried those and they were undercooked and doughy. My daughter had a piece of dessert pizza and that's the only pizza we had. Came in on a snowy day, I'm glad we did!! Phenomenal experience, the food was hot, and delicious! The employees were so cheerful, helpful, etc. the place was really clean, everyone was keeping up with the pizza, salad, sweeping the floor, stocking everything! Every single table was taken and they still let us and many others after us pay and go in, leaving us to stand right in the middle of the action waiting for someone to leave so that we could grab a table to sit at. And we were there on a Friday night so they were being eaten up almost as fast as they could cook them. The dough is obviously not fresh and is far too thick. The options are all the basic Pizza toppings but nothing is fresh. Pasta bar has an Alfredo that is grey tinted in color, meat sauce that is so oily I could use it as motor oil. Salad bar looks like someone had never cleaned it so I passed on it. My husband and my 4yr old son and myself tried it. $25 total got us each a few hours in the bathroom and the need for Tums. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. We couldn't find a place to sit. Not because it was busy, but because all of the empty tables were piled with dirty dishes. The pasta and salad bars were filthy. It took me four tries to find a clean fork. The pizza was cold, the salad was warm, and the pasta sauce station was ridiculous. This wasn't because of lack of staff. There were approximately 15 workers there who all appeared to be 12 years old. Those who weren't just standing there were arguing with each other. The one exception was the manager who was very kind when we asked for a refund.
