Man, we were in Sacramento today and everything was closed! We were starving and kept searching for a place to eat. We finally came across Twist Pizza, and I honestly didn't think it was going to be that good. Was I wrong! This was hands down one of the best pizzas I've ever had. And trust me, pizza is my favorite food, so I don't say that lightly. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I can only give them 5 stars, but they deserve 10! The staff was extremely helpful when we came in. We had never been until last night and he helped walk us through the menu and decide what to get. They have a vegan, vegetarian, and carnivore menu. We got the vegan tandoori bbq chicken pizza twist. If it says twist it's a mix of pizza with Indian flavor! The pizza was a good size for two people when we got the medium. The tandoori and bbq sauce was delicious and the pizza crust was the perfect consistency. The tofu chicken was a little tough and I wasn't a huge fan of that flavor. Yum yum! First time I tried this Pizza and it is now on my rotation. There are two parking spots on the busy road in front of the store as well as a parking lot across the street. Unfortunately I've come here several times and loved being able to have a vegan pizza that tasted pretty good. But this time, it was awful. But the biggest problem was that when I called to tell them, they practiced really bad customer service by not offering to make it right. I had to go through multiple back and forth phone calls and still it wasn't resolved reasonably. I understand mistakes happen, but customer service goes a long way. I appreciated the gentleman behind the counter giving me grace as I decided on the order, seeing my hesitation he provided me feedback (without giving sense that he's rushing me). He saw I had a Sutter vistors name tag (they're right by the hospital) and he didn't pry but expressed his well wishes -- knowing I'm clearly visiting a patient at the hospital. Wish I could give no stars because we never got to taste the pizza.. we waited 30 minutes only to watch people who came in after us get their order first which was 2 large pizzas and we only ordered 1 medium . When we asked management about our order they told us 10 more minutes! That would have put us at almost a 45 minute wait. I ordered a Chicken Tikka pizza from here a few nights ago. I used to get them from a place in SF years ago and when I saw this place had Indian and Halal pizzas I was over the moon. It did not disappoint. It was cheesy, hot and the flavor was spot on. Being under the freeway there this location is super hidden so I really hope they get noticed and survive because it really was an excellent pizza.
