I was skeptical - how good could a pizza place in Concord be? Well, I was blown away - Thin crust, Thich Crust, Chicago tavern style, they hit ALL OF THEM out of the park! I have been back just to have their cheese pizza, it's fantastic. I will be coming back for the tavern-style pie very soon! This Gluten free pizza is amazing!! Thick and airy! I was really scared eating it because it was so good and tasted like real bread. My daughter thought it had a similar texture as thick focaccia bread, she loved it. We got the FOREST pizza and added their fennel sausage. I also got the Wedge salad and that was good as well. Oh and the ranch yummm! I am gluten sensitive but don't have celiac. They don't have a designated gluten-free area so cross-contamination can be a problem for those that have celiac. I see on the menu they also have gluten-free pasta and one gluten-free canned beer. I will definitely be going back to try the pasta and dine-in instead of takeout! YUM! read more

square pizzas are better than round ‍ @eatpizzalina we've been anticipating to try @eatpizzalina and finally got around to it! it was some of the best pizza i've had and i think that stems from their elastic dough. the dough is so stretchy and baked beautifully into a crispy crust (perfect to dip in ranch or marinara sauce). We wanted to give this new pizza place a try walking up smelt good pizzas looked good but then the truth came out. Pizza had no flavor even after adding cheese and peppers. Need to get pizza oven dialed in. To high of heat burnt the dough before fully cooking it so only real flavor you got was burnt dough. I ordered east brothers red ale and it was flat had to send back. Service was great thats why it gets a 2 and not 1. I'll be honest, I was prepared to be disappointed because lately when we have gotten pizza it was meh and gluten free really can bring the whole thing down (if you know you know). Only the square pizzas (labeled "pizzalina squared" on the menu) come gluten free, so if you're gluten free take note. I really wanted to try the bianco verde, but no gluten free option (I hope they have some seasonal or expanded options for gluten free). I expected the gluten free crust to be thin and not very exciting, I won't name names-but it's very thin and crispy at most places. Usually you get gluten free anything and it's half the size of the gluten option (whether it's sandwich bread or crust). The crust was so fluffy, airy, and delicious. It's a bit like a very airy focaccia vs. a chewy bread-y crust. The forest pizza was flavorful and we really enjoyed it. It would be even better with some roasted garlic or slices of garlic on top, but overall we were satisfied. The pizza was big, which at $37 with tax it should be. I think that the prices are pretty high, I find it a bit hard to swallow unless they reworked it to be cuter on the inside and portions are better for salads, etc. Some items are not available (but not marked on the menu) so make sure you check with the waiter/ess, also the menu will have some changes soon from what we were told. read more

This is the original pie: cheese pizza with aged mozzarella cheese, garlic oil, fresh basil, sicilian oregano, grana padano, and pecorino romano. Soggy salad/dry pizza We had a simple meal, the Caesarlina salad and Tavern style pizza. They split the salad for my husband and me, which was nice. The romaine was crispy and the toppings were ok, but it was drowned in watery, tart dressing. I couldn't eat mine. My husband (who likes a lot of dressing) was able to finish mine after he drained the excess dressing. We'll have to figure out another salad option. The pizza had a thin crispy crust, which we love, with tasty sausage and cheese. Overall tho, the pizza was too dry. We'll definitely order it with extra sauce next time. Note to owners- your thin crust is hearty enough to hold up to more sauce! So yes, we'll go back and try it again, but we'll adjust our order. read more

I've been anxiously awaiting this Pizzalina opening, having been to their location in San Anselmo several years ago. I ordered delivery through DoorDash, so, of course, the pizza was cold...no slight on Pizzalina. One of my pizza criteria is how it re-heats, and this one did very well. I ordered a regular cheese pizza with pepperoni & mushrooms, and I would describe it as San Francisco style, with the nice, airy crust. I detected sourdough, and it was delicious. My go-to is Slice House, which remains #1, but this is a nice alternative because it is denser--more cheese, and a heavier dough, but it's very tender and excellent. Not as flavorful as Slice House, though, hence the missing star. I also ordered a caesar salad, and my first reaction was "skimpy" but then I found that the lettuce was little gem Romaine, and that changed my mind some. The dressing was decent, with a slight anchovy flavor. I'm really happy to have Pizzalina here, and I'm looking forward to trying sit-down dining there, as well. read more

Ticks all the right boxes and keeps going! Pizza done right and some great beers as well! Pizzalina is a cut above your average pizza joint; you wouldn't know it from passing by, its tucked away in the corner of the shopping center. I am certain I have passed by the place numerous times and not even realized it was there, but now I have! First up the appetizers, we tried the wings and the meatballs, our waiter spoke highly of both and I can see why. The meatballs were perfectly tender and juicy they come in a delicious tomato sauce and with breadsticks that have been crisped to perfection on the exterior while remaining soft and fluffy at their centers. Those meatballs did not last long! The wings were also better than most. They use the larger meatier wings (~3") which are very lightly battered and served almost plain, they are accompanied by a mildly spicy mayo that you can dip the wings into, allowing you to control the level of flavor and spice. The wings were fried to perfection. A great dish for sharing. Next, the mains. The real winner on the night was surprisingly not a pizza dish but the Spaghetti (with shrimp and mussels). Just..wow! Normally when you see pasta at a pizza joint you don't expect it to be amazing, kind of like when you order steak at a fish restaurant but again...wow! A mouthwatering blend of buttery seafood and saffron fuse together into a uniquely flavorsome and dish that will blow your mind. I would (read as "I will!") come back here for this dish alone. The pizzas themselves were also hitting notably above average, not your usual fare. The menu consists of some unique and original flavors. The thin pizza crusts are perfectly thin, I would guess the dough is hand spun given the shape and thinness. The square pizzas the thicker crust option, we ordered a gluten free option here. This is probably the nicest gluten free pizza I have ever tasted. Even with the thick crust the base was super light and fluffy, not thick and heavy like many other deep pan pizzas. Between this and and breadsticks that came with the meatballs I gotta say this place knows how do its breads REALLY well. I would recommend trying to No Ka Oi pizza if you go the square pizza route. Overall an all out win on the food, there wasn't a bad dish there and nothing we could fault. Just delicious dish after delicious dish. There is also a really interesting beer and drinks menu here with some more unusual beers. I tried the Dad Pants and was impressed :D My wife tried the Passion Fruit Margarita and that was also a hit. Another solid 5/5 on the drinks menu both in taste and selection. The service as well was notably good. Out waiter was engaging and enthusiastic. He knew the menu well, offered great recommendations and was highly attentive. There was just a "good vibe", like he really cared, which elevated the whole dining experience. The restaurant itself was busy (almost full) when we arrived, but not crowded. There is space to move around and talk comfortably without feeling overwhelmed or packed in. The decor is clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. It has a kind of trendy vibe to it. Overall, this was a great dining experience from start to finish with some interesting and innovative dishes, great service and nice venue. There really wasn't anything at all I could nitpick, these guys are absolutely nailing it on all fronts. I will definitely be coming back here to try out some more of the menu. read more

I decided to stop by on their first day of opening. I ordered the bulgogi and roni pizza to go. Upon entering, the hostess was very friendly and enthusiastic. She directed me to the bar to place a take out order. I had a glass of prosecco while waiting. Unfortunately I was told I would have to wait a while for my order upon finishing my prosecco so I left and came back to pick up my pizza. I did have to wait a bit longer upon return but it was opening day. All in all the pizza was very good and I plan on returning in the future. I imagine the bugs will be worked out then. read more

Let me get this out of the way first -- the pizza. There was nothing wrong with it but it didn't stand out amidst the many other pizza places in the WC/PH area. We found it fairly average. The crust didn't have very much flavor in comparison to other places. We ordered a classic with pepperoni & mushroom, and that may have been our mistake. The top of the pizza was swimming in orange oil. I'm guessing that was from the pepperoni, of which there was a very generous amount, but I can't remember seeing that much oil on any pepperoni pizza I've ordered elsewhere. The sight of it was pretty off-putting. 3 stars for the pepperoni & mushroom pizza. On to the positives, the brussel sprouts appetizer was killer! I don't like brussel sprouts but have stumbled across a few places that prepare them very deliciously. But the ones at Pizzalina are my favorite. Most brussel sprout appetizers are served with a balsamic vinegar glaze, which I enjoy. Pizzalina has a more creative take. They add fish sauce, very similar to nuoc mam in Vietnamese dishes. It provides a wonderful unami balance that is incredibly addictive. 5 resounding stars for the brussel sprouts. Service was top-notch. A friendly, attentive server always makes a meal more enjoyable and our server was excellent. 5 stars for him. Pizzalina doesn't offer very many choices as far as toppings go, and I suspect results may be best when you order one of their set pizza items instead of trying to build your own. Excellent service and amazing, unique brussel sprouts will have us returning, but we'll be sure to get one of their pre-customized pizzas instead. read more

We had high hopes for coming here and this place met every expectation. We sat at the bar and ordered the Tavern pizza and Winter chop salad. The Tavern blew me away. Thin crust with not too much sausage. There was a brightness to it that I couldn't figure out. I realized it was the cooked pickled veggies. I've never had anything like that - yum! The Pinot and Chardonnay on tap were delish and our server/bartender Arturo was so attentive and kind, it just makes me look forward to coming back. Had dinner at Pizzalina's yesterday, ordered a Forrest Pizza! If you haven't tried this establishment, I suggest you start out with the Forrest. Damn was it so delicious. I am having leftovers for my lunch today! Beer offerings on tap were pretty varied. The entire place used to be Sorrentos Restorante. The remodel is pretty cool and welcoming. The service was great. Although they weren't very busy when we arrived (3:30-4:00 pm). My wife and I live down the street from them, so we will be back and try a different pizza each time we do go back! Appetizers were delicious, the mozzarella sticks were the best I've ever had and the meatballs were fatty and tender. However I found the pizza to be just a tad undercooked. If you check out the picture, you can tell the crust is still white and lacks that perfect crispy golden brown crust.
