I was teetering between 3 and 4 stars but decided to give 3. The ingredients are fresh; we got a single pizza with pepperoni and sausage and a drink. The cheese is really stretchy and came off the pizza most of the time. The saucy was tasty and generous. This all came out to ten bucks. For that I would recommend getting a pie and take some to go. My mrs and I shared this together, and for me, it was over kill but didn't wanna leave one random slice. This place is comparable to deli news right around the corner but deli has a much bigger following from what I can see. Look no further. This pizza, in my opinion, is absolutely hands down the best pizza in Long Beach. I first visited when I went to CSULB and have returned numerous times over the years. It's situated close to CSULB, and they offer great lunch specials that will fill you up with their generous slices. And, the cook has been their many many years. So two nights ago the family wanted pizza again, and we were debating on whether to try our favorite pizza place once more or give somewhere else a try. We decided to give Pizzamania another try. We ordered the same as always, Pepperoni, mushroom, & sausage and hoped the last time we ordered was just a bad dream...... Could not give up on this place given the history of great pizza. Terrible pizza, but even worst is the service. I came here recently after seeing mixed reviews on here. The man on the phone was rude and could care less about your order. Please call before you come here and see how terrible the service is on the phone. YOULL THANK ME LATER. Also, I called back after reading on yelp that their pizzas were very dry and had no sauce. I asked the man can you please add extra sauce to my pizza. He said ok and quickly hung up. When I picked up the pizza I could hardly see any sauce on it. It felt like a cheese pizza. Nothing but bread and cheese. No flavor. You literally have to not care about your customers to still make a pizza like that after being told to add sauce. I have no idea how anyone can give this place a good review. The service from the cashier and the lack of sauce or should I say no sauce on their pizza ruined my appetite. One more thing, the good looking pizzas on their yelp are several years old. They must of had a better pizza maker back then. It makes perfect sense why it was empty when I arrived. A co-worker brought in a pepperoni pizza to a potluck meeting. I was the first to pick up a couple slices. It had lost most of it's warmth on the drive, so I'm not counting that against them. All the ingredients were satisfactory, the sauce was above average. The ingredient that stood out to me the most was the pepperoni. It started with a small burst of saltiness, then slowly I felt the heat of spice which pleasantly lingered on my tongue. Needless to say, I went back for seconds only to find that there were no slices left. All the positive reviews must be connected. There is no way a random person could eat this pizza and think it was any good. The best part is, their pizza box reads "simply the best" since 1973. It should read, "simply one of the worst, made with the cheapest ingredients. Come on guys, you've been making pizzas since '73, you should be a lot better at it. I am sure that for some people their pizza experience was one of quick service and tasty food, sadly this was not mine. Ordered over the phone 2 large pizzas and a variety of wings. Told the person taking my order that It was my first time and asked what was on the pizzas (I dont eat tomato sauce) got a list of ingredients and was told that it would be ready for pick up in 25min. Showed up after 30 min and was told that it would be an additional 35 min....they were clearly understaffed and it felt like anything that went into that oven that night was rushed. In the end came home and discovered that one pizza had toppings that we did not order (tomato sauce), the wings were soggy and floury. Very disappointed. read more

What happened to Pizzamania? They were never quite our first choice go-to pizza place but they were a strong second. Not sure why we haven't eaten here in a while but upon this visit the pizza was noticeably different, even down to the smell wafting out of the box. The flat disappointment inside just wasn't much to enjoy, but the crust was simply inedible. I suspect a change in dough recipe (either due to ownership or budgetary reasons?) which now smells and tastes like plain flour. I found this place through a yelp search. When I drove there I was a bit hesitant as I don't usually eat at restaurants in strip malls. I decided to give it a shot though as I was already there and boy am I glad I did I live an hour outside of Chicago and was craving pizza (weird right?). Anyway, while this was not a deep dish their pizza was excellent! The crust was so good I actually ate the ends which I don't do on burnt hard crust. The crust was soft and tasted like butter, you know like bread should taste. I ordered their special which is essentially supreme, the veggies were fresh and delicious. I always get pizza here when I go to my relative's down the street. The last time I came here, I got the Hawaiian. Plenty of ham and pineapple, they didn't skimp on the ingredients at all. The crust is delicious and I highly recommend! When I called they were not delivering, which did suck but their pizza is so delicious and we were close enough that I give them a pass for that one. I'm not sure why they weren't delivering at that moment, maybe it was a staffing issue. I also have a high voice and sound like a child despite being 40 so they may have thought I didn't have the authority and they were protecting themselves. If that was the case, I wish there was a way to confirm that a person is legit if you have doubts. Of course, now I'm doubting them. So, the wheel turns... read more
