Pizzasaurus Rex is a strong contender for the best pie in Sacramento. They offer an oddly shaped (rectangles guys??) pizza that may make you remember grabbing a pizza pizza and crazy bread as a kid, but that's where the similarities end. This is high quality stuff. The combo, pepperoni, and potato pies are all on point - so we usually end up getting a mix. Which you should probably do. Cool merch, including cute onesies for the littles, a good vibe, nearby bars, attentive staff... yeah, this place is on point. read more

I've been here twice. The first time, I got food poisoning. The second time, 2/5 of us got food poisoning. I won't lie, it's delicious pizza, but go at your own risk. It's also VERY greasy. I watched the grease drip from my pizza. The vibe of the restaurant is very nice too and service was great. It's also a little pricey for greasy pizza, so I think I'll go spend $$ where I won't get sick. read more

12/31/21-Was looking forward to trying this place after a recommendation from a local bar and reading that they were nominated (now won) best new restaurant in Sacramento. Maybe it was a bad night bc it was busy but this visit ended up being huge let down. Quick summary after ordering two pepperoni pizzas by the slice and a side of ranch: - The wait ended up almost as long as ordering a full size pizza which was roughly an hour. - The pizza was not fresh at all. It was barely warm enough to eat and the cheese was not melty (almost solidified). It's as if they took a whole pizza sitting in their hot box and decided to slice it and tried to reheat the slices in the oven real quick bc one slice had a dark and hard crust compared to the other. - Heavily uneven pepperoni distribution. My slice had way more than the other. + The service was nice and apologetic for the wait as well as other customers having issues. + Ranch was good. This was not a good experience and idk if I'd go back. I wouldn't have minded the long wait if the pizza had actually been worth it. This is only my second "square" style pizza and it didn't come close to Golden Boy in SF. read more

Holy Crap! This Pizza is AMAZING! My Partner and I usually go to Luigi's for Pizza, but they're closed on Monday's. I looked online and discovered this place! And man am I glad I did. I ordered the Potato pizza and the Combination pizza and let me tell you, they're both freakin delicious! The only thing is, I wish I knew just how many people one pizza can feed lol, the pizza was huge lol, otherwise I probably would have only ordered 1, but overall we're super happy. We definitely plan to order pizza from Pizzasaurus again. Side note stuff: Street Parking is easy, and there was no wait. They accept card, and if you want ranch it's $0.50 each. I am visiting Sacramento and found this place on Yelp. We decided to walk and I definitely don't regret it! The pizza and fries are delicious and the customer service is top notch. I had my daughter with me and they gave her attention. As a mom it is impressive to me when an establishment gives a child personalized attention. Hard to believe you can get a wonderful piece of pie, in midtown, for under $5. This is now our go to spot after the farmers market or when in town. Out door seating available, tap and bottled craft beer, and delicious pizza! We also tried their salad of the day which was awesome! It's a square piece of pie, Detroit style. So glad to have finally been able to try this place! The pizza was so great. Delicious crust, fun flavors (definitely try the potato pizza) and even the cheese pizza was stellar. Stumbled on this place while attending 2nd Saturday in Midtown. I had just eaten but wanted to try a slice while I was here. The place was packed outside and the vibe was really chill. Renovations were going on inside so indoor seating was not available. Ordered a slice of pepperoni as a trial. Pizza came out piping hot. It was very tasty and delicious. I only ate half and finished the other half the next day. Believe it or not, pizza tasted even better the 2nd day! I will have to go back to try their other offerings but so far, so good! read more

I just called to order two slices on a Friday night, when I called the girl who answered said it may be a hour wait time. Sure it's Friday, I know things get busy so I tried to order two slices and then I was told the wait time would be a hour and a half! For two slices of pizza ?? Busy pizzeria with drinks! Friendly service. Order your pizza and drinks, pay, they give you # for the table and later they deliver your pizza! We just got a slice each, but almost everyone got a whole rectangular pie. It's served roaring hot. Super crispy bottom and crust. It's sprinkled with cornmeal. The rest of the pizza has a heaping helping of sauce and topical ingredients. Very filling and juicy! I like how the pepperoni is baked to an almost contact lens shape. Yum! read more

This is my favorite pizza in town. I think about it constantly LOL the Dino slice is fun, I love seeing something new every time I come in. There is plenty of seating however I feel like I'm in the way standing in line to order. My only real issue with this place is that the workers aren't very friendly. They always seem annoyed that you're there and seem to have bad attitudes. First time I went, the girl seemed annoyed that I was looking at the menu too long (nobody else was in line and I had never been so I needed some time, I was also standing off to the side just in case anybody did walk in and wanted to order ahead of me). Cool spot! I love the name and have always seen a decent amount of people out front and inside while waking by, so I figured I'd give it a try! They've got a variety of different pizza combos, and slices available in pepperoni, cheese, and their special of the day (their Dino Slice). I opted for the Dino Slice when I visited. This one was a pizza with a white sauce, tomato, onion, bacon and a BBQ drizzle (I believe). I really enjoyed it. The standalone slices are fairly large, too. I could've eaten a bit more but two slices would've been a challenge. The full pizzas looked pretty big and decently priced, so maybe opt for that if you're going for a group or want leftovers! The pizza came out quick and finding a spot to sit was easy, despite there being a line out the door when I got there and the establishment being fairly small. The cashiers also took the time to answer the questions I had, since it was my first visit. Drink options are limited. They have craft beer and a fridge of artisanal nonalcoholic beverages, and a few varieties of wine (I think). The craft beer selection was small but solid. Highly recommended! read more

We stopped here on our way from Tahoe to San Francisco and it didn't disappoint. It was our first time ever being in Sacramento and we were looking for a quick bite. Called my order in- was informed that there was a block party on their street that parking was scarce, and could only access restaurant by sidewalk. Arrived late afternoon in a Saturday. My order was ready for pick up upon arrival. The place wasn't too busy so decided to sit out back on their patio (with street view). Tried the Dino slice (rotating slice changes often), cheese and pepperoni. All slices were good. Love the vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant! It's super cute and trendy on the inside. My husband and I ended up going to happy hour and they have a deal that included a slice of pepperoni pizza and a Montucky Cold Snack (a beer) for $7! Ended up coming in around 11am ordered a pizza , half combo and the other half was the potato pizza!! we waited about 25mins and our pizza was served piping hot and looked so delicious! all the toppings were fresh , the sauce was very light, the crust was perfect and not doughy. I absolutely loved the potato pizza!! and you must try it . It had thinly cut potato slices, sun dried tomatoes, three cheese blend, fresh herbs, and a white sauce. I definitely recommend it for lunch or dinner, and there's plenty of seating inside and outside in a patio area they have! After 10 or so pizzas, I can honestly say that this is one of the top 5 pizzas in Northern California. The crust, according to my 97 year old gram, is one of the best she has had. The ingredients they use are high quality, and the ricotta is out of this world. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I will continue to come here for great pizza! read more

The pizza itself was ok, 6.5/10. Nothing special, it was mostly crust with a little sauce and a wimpy sprinkling of cheese. Extremely overpriced at $6.75+ for a single slice. The place was a little odd, I sat in the back area by the kitchen entrance. There were employees going in and out, a freezer with drinks was out in the open, and a lot of boxes and storage in the back. Definitely made the place look a little trashy. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. I stopped by Pizzasaurus Rex recently and had a really good experience. The place has a fun atmosphere, and the staff was welcoming and helpful. I ordered one of their pizzas and it tasted amazing, great crust, flavorful toppings, and really well balanced overall. Everything came out fresh and hot.
