So glad we live a couple mins away. We're new to Ohio and we're from Queens, NY. The pizza's pretty close to the real deal. Problem is it's not consistent from visit to visit. And don't understand how 16" pies are considered extra large in this state. That's a small in NY. Regular pies are 18". Looks like slices were sold many years ago. Should bring that back and open for lunch! I don't mean a few slices under a heat lamp, actual pies of different kinds ready to sell by the slice. The big mistake I made all those years ago was driving past this place, assuming it wasn't designed for the normal family. That, mainly because the bar next door was always flooded with the rowdy crowd that bled over into the front of this spot. End result? I missed years and years of enjoying some REALLY good New York style pizza. Keep in mind that I'm a Chicago Deep Dish style pizza, so if you're going to give me a different kind, you betta bring it! And I don't just mean the actual pie. My wife and I walked in and were prompted greeted by Ryan, the owner's son. He was a kind gentleman, eager to introduce us to his family's creation, sharing a bit about his family history and the development of their restaurant. We decided to eat in and order the house specialty: Paps Special. This consisted of sausage, pepperni, onions, mushrooms, green peppers and banana peppers. We hate mushrooms, so for a small amount, we subbed out the mushrooms for Old World Pepperoni. Wise decision. Mannnn, this pizza was delicious! Vegetables cut fresh, meat well-seasoned, pie cooked the perfect amount of time, crust with the right, buttery texture. It didn't take long to create it and I swear it took less time for the two of us to EAT it. We enjoyed it so much that days later, I was back to pick up two more for my family at home! ...and yes, they loved it. My only disappointment was that my sons didn't want to ride down and eat it there (lazy buzzards). Nothing like pizza hot out of hell's fire... Pizzeria New York is not bad. It's exactly like it's authentic. This is still a pretty good try for Ohio. It sells pizza by the slice, weekdays at least. They also have sandwiches and subs. It didn't have any pizza by the slice on a weekend. It could have been out. They weren't that busy the last time. It's more of a carryout. They do have lots of seating. It looks kind of sparse inside. There's not much interesting going on. It has chairs and tables of course. There's a couple TVs on the walls. Besides that there isn't much of an atmosphere. This is reflected in how quiet the inside is. I had the vegetable sub. It's about $7 for the footlong. This is good even though it's not an excellent sub. I got it without cheese. Pizza sauce is good to add on this I could eat something from here again. Maybe not pay for it. They are kind of expensive for the amount the give you. read more

This small business doesn't care about customers. They use cheap ingredients, and cut corners wherever possible. Their pizza is barely edible, and the owner expects to sit on her heiny all day long while her underpaid underlings are expected to do all the work. DISCLAIMER: I'm a born and raised New Yorker. So when I see someone say "Pizzeria New York".... expectations jump! I know the people are from Queens, which is cool. But honestly, if they tried to serve this pizza, this food, in Queens, they'd be out of business within months. The dough is ok, but it isn't NY. Nor is the sauce. Pizza is actually pretty good based on Ohio pizza standards, but not NY. I ordered the garlic knots. They weren't good by ANY standard. The garlic flavor was almost nil, and two of the five weren't cooked all the way, and there was raw dough in the middle. Lastly, we had a pepperoni calzone. THERE WAS NO RICOTTA in the calzone. NONE!! In NY.... that never happens. Ricotta is a CORE INGREDIENT in the calzone, so how there was NONE is beyond me. There was also more pepperoni in it that on the pizza. Layers and layers of pepperoni, with a bit of mozzarella.... that ain't a calzone where I come from! Side notes: the sauce tasted like it came from the can, and was a bit bitter for me. I like a sweeter sauce. Could be the tomato they used, not sure. Also, the pepperoni was a bit too spicy. I was hoping for a bit more, as they're from NY. We split a sub and order of pepperoni rolls. We really wanted to like this place. Order issues online. It doubles the charge of what your getting. So I called. The lady was super! However I specifically asked if the rolls comes with sauce and was told yes. We didn't get any sauce. When picking up the order had we not already placed an order we may have not stayed if dining in. It was our first time trying this place. We ordered a supreme pizza and loaded fries. I really wish we spent our $54 elsewhere honestly. The pizza looked amazing but it was such a disappointment. It was extremely bland, no flavor with any ingredient on that thing. I tried to give it a little boost with the garlic butter but even that was flavorless. The loaded fries were super hot, yayyy!! But when it's topped with a cheese sauce and very little bacon, that's a cheap loaded fry to me. I would've loved to see actual shredded cheddar cheese melted on it with a good amount of bacon pieces, but sadly that wasn't the case It looked like I'm going to be sticking with Grapevine pizza from now on because it's not worth going elsewhere anymore. read more

It has "New York" in the name, so of course I rolled down to Picktown for pizza night. Pizzeria New York sits in a strip mall. Inside is a large dining area with plenty of tables (sadly, they were all empty, with one exception, on this Tuesday night). Most of the Yelp gripes about this place seem to focus on service. For me, the pizza rolled out at the promised time and it was served with a smile. PNY lives up to its name with a very solid New York style pie. The crust is thin, slightly crispy and foldable. There are no giant air pockets under the rim, but you do get some nice doughy chewiness around the edge. The sauce is nice and tart with just the right amount applied. PNY uses fresh mushrooms (thank heavens!!!). The peps were good, but nothing remarkable. Of course I also had to order the pepperoni rolls. While the menu said it was an order of 6, I only got 5. That said, they're pretty large and an excellent value ($3.99 for the box), so no gripes. These rolls consist of pizza dough around cheese and pep, all rolled up the way you would roll them croissants out of the can that I so love to use for "croissant dogs" at home. You also get the yummy side-car of marinara for dipping. PNY was definitely worth the trip. If I lived closer to Picktown, I'd definitely be in here more often. Like the sign outside this place says, "There's a big difference between the big chains and the Independent Pizzerias. Come on in and we'll prove it to you!" Indeed, they did. read more

This is a tiny pizzeria. There pizza is definitely new york style. The atmosphere is pretty chill and laid back. If you order delivery expect a slight delay. I nornally do a large pie. I always request extra sauce. If your not big on a saucy pizza normal is fine. But from this shop I require heavy sauce. The pizza is tasty. Ny friend loves ther pizzoans. There garlic and cheesey bread is tasty. Ive also done there spaghetti and meatball just kinda average. Its a spot that I tend to repeat often. Order has been messed up numerous times and when ask to speak to manager/owner you get nothing. Long-time resident of Pickerington but we tried PNY for the first time. Unfortunately, not impressed. They seem disorganized and they were trying to figure out what happened to someone's order when I approached the counter. If this is authentic New York-style pizza, it was a bad example. The crust was great, but the center of the pizza was not cooked - it was soggy (maybe their oven is too hot - bakes the outside but leaves the center unbaked). Virtually no sauce. When the pizza was picked up, the toppings slid off the soggy end. Oh well, we had to try it. read more

Believe it or not, this place really does get close to New York-style pie. It's thin and foldable. You can taste the oven on the perfectly crisp/soft/chewy crust. If it's not at its freshest, the crust can seem a little tough. In general it's good stuff, though. It's helpful to keep in mind that it's freakin' NY-style pizza outside of NYC. If I remember correctly, beggars cannot be choosers. You can buy whole pizzas or single slices. The pepperoni is the best. Sure, it's greasy, but who's kidding themselves that pizza is health food? If you don't dig on the 'za, the garlic knots are darn good. They have lots of salads and pasta. I can never resist the pizza. The also have RC instead of Coke or Pepsi. Rock! And the word around the campfire is that the calzones are terrific. I'll try one soon. They have a small-ish bar and a stage. We recently moved from Northern New Jersey to Columbus, and BOY do I miss the pizza. I have been searching all over central Ohio for a decent slice. Pizzeria New York is the closest thing I have found to NY style pizza so far. This is a nice little spot... nothing fancy but the staff is friendly and the Pizza is delicious. They also have some Italian entrees on the menu such as lasagna and spaghetti. We tried the cannoli for desert which was also very good. Pizza is available by the slice or whole pies.
