Run dont walk to this establishment if you're looking for pizza or just good food. Be prepared for LIMITED family style seating (in case that's not your thing, fair warning). I would not get take out for pizza as the crust is very thin and soft and will prob be soggy by the time you get home. So enjoy it if you can get a seat! But the burrata appetizer and the included foccaccia is to die for so i would recommended going out of your way for that! They also have specialty gelato flavors which i was too full to try because we inhaled our dinner. Theres municipal parking across the street. read more

5 stars!!! Holy moly this pizza is good, we wish we would have ordered more than we did. They are sharing their patio with the toasted owl across the street in the evenings which allows for a beautiful social Distancing experience. Staff is all wearing masks/gloves, keeping it clean, and safe for you to enjoy appropriately. They also offer to go orders still as well. We had the bees knees pizza and it was mouth melting. Really cool, cozy place with amazing food. We had Burrata Caprese with Foccacia and Amore Oi Mari pizza. Both were delicious. Their foccacias are a bit different (thinner) than what I am used to but still great! Our pizza came really late for some reason. It was a little pricey and worth it for the fresh ingredients and excellent crust. Service was good. There is a small indoor area to dine and also tables set up on the sidewalk. This place was awesome. It's quaint and quite busy, so there may be a bit of a wait. My boyfriend and I arrived to Flagstaff on Friday and to our surprise it was only a 20 minute wait. They got us in about 10-15 minutes after putting in our name. All the staff was friendly and helpful and the food came out in a good amount of time. We ordered the warm olives and burrata as an appetizer. The warm olives went really well with the cheese. I am used to having olives cold so the warm ones were a nice change of pace, the burrata was a generous portion of cheese and it came with sauce drizzled on the plate, tomatoes and bread. When we ran out of bread it was nice to use the cheese on the pizza dough! I had never tried burrata before. It's a mix of cream and mozzarella cheese. It's very soft and creamy and mostly flavorless/very subtle. It's great for pairing with the sauce given on the plate and with the tomatoes and olives. The pizza itself had kale, almonds and lemon juice on it with gorgonzola cheese to create a pungent taste. To be honest, it wasn't my favorite combination for a pizza warm but, when we ate it the next day cold while kayaking on the river it really hit the spot. It was cooked well and tasted good for what it was, but next time I will get meat lovers pizza instead! The last thing was the gelato, which was my personal favorite!!! It was soooo amazing and they make it in house. I would go back again just for it alone. We got half hazelnut and half whatever that weeks special was. It had black cherries in it, I think. Definitely get this if you go! Overall, I would absolutely return here if in Flagstaff in the future. read more

The girl on the phone had pretty poor customer service. Apparently pizzicletta only serves 4 flavors of pizza though, despite the website showing more. When I asked her about what ones they did carry she didn't want to do her job and tell me, but instead told me to just call dark sky brewing because they had a larger pizza selection. Weird considering this is the original spot. Regardless after telling her the website was misleading and that I wanted her to tell me what flavors they DO carry since apparently the website is wrong, she finally did so but angrily. Went in here thinking this was the Route 66 Brewery, since there was a sign that said on the outside that it was the brewery. Maybe I just wasn't paying too much attention to the menus, but I was actually in a pizza restaurant, that happened to share the same building as the brewery! But it was cool though, and they had pizza, which I was in the mood for. Plus it was wood fired; even better. I had the margherita pizza with just cheese on it. It came out nice and quick, and I ate it quick, washing it down with one of the beers brewed next door. Service was great. A couple downers though: Yes it was pricey, but what to expect from independent places, right? Also, the place is very small and cramped, like I think there were only six tables in there. I really enjoyed this place. We were there in early June and the patio seating was perfect! We ordered the special of the day, one pie with red sauce, arugula, fresh chèvre, and something's I may have forgotten. One with the same and sausage. The wood fired crust was excellent! We also had an arugula salad with Parmesan and pine nuts, one of my faves! We shared 2 pies and 2 salads. They also have a nice wine selection, a red from Piedmont, Italy. I'm not a drinker, but the rest of the group enjoyed it. We topped it off with gelato for dessert. We had one that was a citrus lemony creamsicle flavor and a salted chocolate. I usually like salt on cookies and such, but I thought there was too much salt in the gelato for my taste. My friends loved it, so I might be in the minority. My husband and I made a pit stop here before making our way to Holbrook for the night. It was a cold, monday night and there were only two other parties in the restaurant when we arrived. But we were really surprised to see that some folks were eating outside on the patio (even though it was heated) in 20 degree weather. The seating in the restaurant is a bit weird, and the reason why it lost one star for me. There is limited seating inside the restaurant and even then, its setup in a weird 'facing strangers' arrangement. Imagine one of those cafeteria tables from elementary school where youd sit on one side and then another person can sit on the other. Got it? Well, its a similar arrangement at Pizzicletta. While the seating is much more nicer (dark cherry wood) at Pizzicletta, the concept is pretty much the same. All in all there must be around 15 seats in the place, and guess where we were seated? Right in front of one of the only people in the restaurant - AWKWARD! Besides that, the server was really nice and attentive. I was really hoping to have something like a Diovolo pizza, but it was not on the menu, so we opted for a margherita pizza and added pizza salami to split (~$20). What was originally planned to be a trip to Sedona ended up in Flagstaff after missing our exit. I'm so glad we did since I got to try this place out. I was told this was the best pizza ever so my expectations were high. I was not disappointed. I am not sure if it was waiting 4 hours for the place to open, being a lil tipsy from a beer I had before or seeing the excitement on my date's face but I absolutely loved it. Went to Flag to check out our daughters new dorm and stopped here for pizza after reading the reviews. To say this is good pizza is not doing it justice. This is by far the BEST pizza we have ever eaten. Worth the 45 min wait and we would even drive from the valley to eat here. We ordered the greens with pine nuts to start, the margharita with pepperoni and the white pizza with carne. Oh my god is all I can say about that white pizza. My husband joked that god made that one with his own hands, it was so good. So, do your mouth a favor and eat here the next time you are in town. First time here and tried the burrata caprese with focaccia and prosciutto app which was super fresh and tasty in nice portions for 2. The diavola pie was the perfect mix of sweet and semi-spicy and reminded me of pizza right from Italy. The carne dolce pie was good as well, but preferred the diavola. The place isn't big and the seating is mainly one long table for the whole restaurant, which felt real cozy. Try this place out!! read more

I've been to New York multiple times, Naples, Rome, etc. and I've been to almost every wood fired Neapolitan style pizza place in az too. Out of everywhere I've been and every pizza I've tried, I still can't get over how good this place is. The service is great and I love the atmosphere. But what makes the pizza so great is the dough. It makes the best pizza crust I've ever had. Perfectly crispy outside but chewy and fluffy inside. They import all their ingredients and I can tell they know what they're doing. Not to mention they make their gelato in house, and the olive oil gelato is insane. I could seriously eat here every day and not get tired of it. read more

If you're passing through Flagstaff, want to feed a family, and require eating Neapolitan pizza while keeping other party members satisfied, you'll be much better off at Fat Olives. Both are fantastic. The vibe I pick up from locals is the Fat Olives is the commercialized place that does too much while Pizzicletta is the hip place that might do too little. Pizza crust terribly undercooked - oven is clearly run way too hot, leaving edges burnt and dough raw inside, causing pizza to be wet and soggy. Weird tomato sauce flavor. The two of us normally crush an entire pizza (and regret it later), but we threw away half of this one. It just isn't good. Barbera wine was great! Not understanding the high reviews here. Even on a chilly Saturday night at what seemed like an later-than-normal hour (8:30pm), this place was packed tight! It is a small place though with cramped seating. We were given a 45 minute wait time for two people and the hostess asked for my number for their text messaging system, so we could come back when a table was ready. OK, so there's a brewery next door; seemed like a perfect way to kill time. As we sat down at the bar, I noticed the Pizzicleta menu and immediately asked the bartender what that meant. To know that I could order the full menu next door with a Pizzicleta worker who was making her rounds at the brewery...! I about died with happiness! So, that's the only disclaimer... I was at Mother Road Brewery, BUT I did experience Pizzicleta food AND service... which were both exceptional! We ordered the *Rosemary Foccacia* ($2.50) as a starter. Oh! An airy, well seasoned bread with a side of balsamic vinaigrette-olive oil... heaven! The *Amore oi Mari* pizza ($15) was also heaven on Earth! I don't think I've had Mascarpone cheese on a pizza before now. It certainly was a bit runny, but wow was it so thick and creamy! The prosciutto was fresh and plentiful and the arugula on top was a nice herbal addition. Breading was certainly on the thinner side and oh-so yeasty and fermented in character. The 4oz gelato (we ordered Vanilla Bean and Cinnamon Walnut with chocolate shavings) was surprisingly a respectful attempt. Usually when I have gelato as a dessert at legit Italian restaurants, it's usually more like ice cream. Here, they get that dense texture down and the flavors are just so intense. Apparently, it's home-made so I have even more respect! The server for the night was a one woman show, but she was killing it.
