Fantastic food - perfect in its simplicity. My family and I have enjoyed pizza at many of the great places across the US, including Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix and Pizzaiolo in Oakland, so we're educated shoppers. The owner, Caleb Schiff, gets everything right at Pizzicletta. The pizza is true Neapolitan - delicious charred, chewy but not tough crust that even the kids ate. Toppings added with the right sense of "less is more" so that every bite is balanced. Creativity with authentic ingredients that yield great combinations that make sense (charred kale, almonds, gorgonzola and lemon juice) and never get close to bizarre. Classics like margherita that make it clear why this combination of flavors is the foundation of pizza. A wood fired oven that completes the cooking process in ~ 90 seconds. The wine list is distinctly Italian and had plenty of alternatives that paired well with our pizza. The house made gelato - two flavors offered each night - were a great finish to a fantastic meal. We tried this place for dinner our first night in Flagstaff after finding it on Yelp. Seriously, I do not get the hype. On the positive side the service is friendly and helpful; the microbrews are excellent, and the wood burning stove is super fast and imparts a nice char flavor to the crust. The gelato was also good but not as creamy as we've had in Europe. That said, I cannot overlook the mostly flavorless pizza, absolutely flavorless tomato sauce, and the overall sogginess of the pizza. To say that it was a mediocre Margherita pizza is generous. Probably the best pizza place that I've had outside the state of New York, and it's better than a lot of the places I've eaten at in New York (which is quite a few since I'm from there). Yelp totally led me to the right place on this one. The place is incredibly small, like maybe seats 20 people max with a few tables outside, but the ambience was really nice. The whole place had a very clean look that I liked a lot and the kitchen was right there, open air and everything. We started with the breadsticks. Awesome is the only word to describe them. A nice burn on them with really great seasoning and some awesome oil to dip in. We knew then that this place was love. The pizzas then came out, I got a pretty typical pie with red sauce, basil, and mozz; my better half got a pie with arugula (which I normally hate). Both were out-of-this-world good. The crust was perfectly crisp, the ingredients were super fresh and had some really bold flavors. I am in love with this place and wish I didn't live 2500 miles away. Only one complaint, the menu was pretty small (like maybe 5-6 pizza choices), but I didn't mind since the food was so great. read more

Very popular spot on a Saturday night with the college crowd. I felt a bit out of place at first being 2 or 3 times the age of the average customer here but the staff were very helpful the food and beer were great. Funky little place so crowded we moved next door to the brewery which is partnered with them. We weren't very hungry so we shared a pizza topped with arugula and prosciutto. It was very good. Had a flight of beers and enjoyed that. This was my first time back to Flagstaff in 40 years and was impressed with the feel of the city. We would definitely return. read more

I really am a big fan! I have been here a couple times and the staff is always so friendly and knowledgable. It is an intimate place and a really nice spot to go for great pizza. As far as starters I have had the formaggi plate with focaccia. The focaccia was wonderful the cheese was alright, I may just not have been in the mood at the time but I have had better cheese plates. I have tried three pizzas: The Margherita, Rucola and SS-145. All of these were wonderful, I could taste the freshness and really appreciate the work that goes into making each pizza. Finally, house-made gelato. Need I say more? Note that it fills up fast and the hours and seating are limited but it is worth any wait! Overall, a must stop while you are in Flagstaff! read more

Service - Fantastic - both at the take out window and their server that covers Mother Road Brewery. They were informative, took time to explain things and did that with a smile! Food - killer! I had the burratta and pear appetizer - and it should not be missed! I was surprised to see unique apps at a "pizza place". It sounds like they make their mozzarella by hand - and they had these amazing things called balsamic vinegar 'pearls' as well. I assume the owner or the chef has a broader culinary background than just making pizzas... We also tried 2 pizzas - the special, which was a white pizza with roasted corn and fresh oregano. Me and a buddy got there and there was two people sitting there before us, they tried to cram us in to sit with the two other people. We asked to sit by the window and caught attitude for that but they let us. Felt rushed the whole time, plates were taken too soon, food was on top of other food, etc. we tried a few things seeing as to it was our first time there. We got two pizzas to sample but had no medium sized plates to eat the pizza. No iced tea. Food was on the pricey side. When the waitress brought the check she said "no rush on paying", but there was a rush just like the rest of the meal. I won't go back, I went to fat olives the next day and everything was nice and relaxed and friendly. Someone needs to remind these people that if you don't treat a customer right, someone else will. I am not trusting Yelp on anything anymore, everyone thinks they are food critics these days and I think mostly they give five stars due to them not having to cook the food and clean up the mess. 90 percent of people rave about this place and it isn't all that. Rarely do I leave a restaurant with a smile and a happy stomach. This is one of those instances. We came her looking at Yelp reviews and boy were they correct. It was a cold evening and the place was packed. We decided not to wait and go to the Mother Road brewery next door. This was another gem. The brewery had a small bar with a room at the back, all set up like a warehouse and old interiors which were maintained well. It was a cozy atmosphere. We did want to try this brewery given its high ratings. So, we got the mother road special and a coconut flavored beer. Both were amazing. We bought both after the good bartender explained the flavors and offered samples. Great customer service. We also got a bowl of pretzels with the beer. Then, we took our beers and sat at a table in the other room. We were then approached by a person with Pizzicletta uniform who gave us the small menu and clarified all our questions regarding the dishes. We finally decided to get the day's special pizza, burrata and a gelato. The burrata came first. We have never even seen a burrata and it looked pleasing. The texture, flavor and presentation of the burrata was amazing, We have never seen something like that and it tasted amazing. The combination of the cheese, smoked apples, candied walnuts and balsamic pearls gave an explosion of flavor, loved it. Next came the pizza. This is pretty unique. Pizza base is actually a naan bread and not the usual pizza base. I am a fan of naan bread and this particular special pizza had a kind of picked red chile which gave an extra kick. I suggest that you get a side of this red chile and have a bite of this with every pizza bite to give that awesomeness. We just devoured the pizza and in food heaven. We did not want to give up and inquired about the gelato. They have very unique flavors and the waiter said that we can get half and half of gelato. We got half olive oil and half goat cheese with cracked pepper. Olive oil tasted amazing but was on the sweeter side, it was perfectly balanced by the amazing goat cheese with pepper, we went to food heaven once again. I love this place and its certainly one of the best pizza places in town. The pizza is amazing and fresh, (I like the amore pizza the best) and you can even get it without cheese, and it still tastes great. Also, they have a very nice selection of salads and San Pelligrino soda's. I have been here several times over the years, and i must say, I have never had a bad experience. However, the place is too tiny and stuffy for me. The seating is cafeteria style, so you might end up bumping elbows with strangers. Not a bad thing, but it can be unnerving for some. I prefer having a private table myself so I can interact with my dining companions better. Additionally the wait can be long , and the service spotty. Wood fired oven using Tucson Pecan tree timber fired to 900 Degrees (yep I'm into pizza ovens) in a custom ceramic oven.This is the only way to get the perfect crust...plays hardwoods like pecan typically leave some flavor without the byproducts of sappy woods. Ingredients, from watching them make the pies, include local flour, Naples corn meal and pretty legit toppings. Beer list includes two good local micro brews and nearby Colorado classic (mamas lil yells pils). It's a great place in one of my favorite cities with great service. Just a great place in Flag. Wow. My wife found this place on Yelp and after a little other searching had to go here. This is a small place that produces wonderful pizzas. You sit at a communal table (there are a couple of other spots near a front window and at the back). I went simple with a margherita pizza and soppressata (cured Italian salami). Our kids had the margherita pizza and my wife had Rucola pizza. The pizza is made practically in front of you and you then watch it go into the specially made oven. It comes out piping hot about 90 seconds later. This pizza is amazing. The mozzarella was the best I have ever had. Very delicious. The pizzas are about 13 each or so and are approximately 12". Fairly priced for the quality and size of the pizza you receive. We ordered 4 pizzas for my wife and me as well as our 6 year old and 4 year old. We had a pizza too many for us, although our kids did end up eating the cheese off the pizza because they liked it so much. The gelato desert selection changes. We had stracciatella and olive oil as our selections. I haven't had gelato this rich and perfect since I was in Italy. Great find! read more

Stopped here on my way back from the Grand Canyon and man oh man, just wish i could easily make a return trip. I went to Pizzicleta with my parents after hearing great things about the food on the news and from friends. We had the prosciutto plate, salad, the margherita pizza, and the pizza of the day which had squash blossoms and garlic on it. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and paired nicely with the Italian wine. The made-in-Naples brick oven and ingredients straight from Italy created a pizza that was top-notch. The only downside is that you can't really bring a large group since seating is very limited. Love this little place! The menu is small but everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered a mixed green salad, Margherita and Rucola pizzas. We had homemade hazelnut gelato for dessert. Yum!! They did a great job of social distancing and they enforce their mask policy. We literally walked for miles to this place in a snowstorm on New years eve and it was worth every shiver along the way. This is a little, hip, authentic place that makes you enjoy evru seconds of your stay. The waitresses were very knowledgeable about the items on the menue, down to the rind of the cheese (which in our case was cured in ashes). We had a glass of Lambrusco and a glass of Mother Road, German Gose:perfect! For a starter we had the cheese board:perfect!
