They are one of the more popular pizza places in Flag and my son's favorite. Order from the counter and then they bring you your food. You get your drinks and utensils from a bar at the back wall. Their pizza has a semolina based dough. Not my favorite but like I said, my son's likes it. My tastes are more Chicago or New York pizza. They do use quality ingredients and real deck ovens. They also have salads and other things. The ambiance is comfortable and casual. Great for families and kids as well as the college crowd. While I'm only going to give it 3 stars it's still an order of magnitude better than your chain pizza choices. read more

And what are the metrics by which this proclomation has been asserted? Allow me to enlighten you with my opinion of this establishments' pie. We ordered a Margherita pie- add garlic, a meat lovers pie and 3 sides (mozzarella sticks, fries and wings -medium.) First - the Meat lovers. Good proption of meat to cheese and sauce. Various meats were complementary. Crust- failry thin and crispy (the correct New York inspired way to make a pizza, Chicago need not apply.) The Margharita - well see the photo with the remaining 3 of 8 slices. Note that only 3 of the 5 removed were fully consumed by a group of college students (myself being the parent of the group). Where is the cheese on this thing? Simply put... this was the sadest and most unenthusiastic attempt to create a Margherita pizza Ive ever experienced. You would think for the obnoxiously high price of $23.95 at the time of this publishing for this moat basic of pizzas that they would include enough medalions of fresh mozzarella cheese to cover a majority of the pie... but you would be wrong to think this. Instead, the slices of fresh mozzarella look so thin they may have been cut on a deli slicer and cover, at best, 30% of the pizza. They might as well call this "A Pizza wit' nuttin!" Aside from this... the sauce overall was a touch too salty and the added garlic we requested seems was "jar-lic" (the pre-minced stuff you get at grocery stores for convenience. The bright spot was the wings. Really, quite good. Maybe Lumberjack pizza should consider hanging up the pizza peel and focus on the wings alone. The 4 stars this place shows as on yelp right now is totally undereserved on the pizza side. I could have done equally as well woth Dominos and spent 50% on the check. In short - if you like your pizza to be "mid"- yes... eat here. But instead, you may want to consider a cheaper option. read more

We came in for slices, and it was pretty disappointing. They didn't have a lot ready, and what was seemed to have been sitting around for quite a while. Both the cheese and veggie slices had that quality of day old pizza you heat up in a toaster oven. The crust on the cheese had a weird bitter flavor almost reminiscent of a cleaning product. We saw another table ordered a freshly made pizza, and it looked entirely different with melty cheese, so that seems to be the way to go here. On the bright side, though, the pizza was cheap! We were in Flagstaff for a golf weekend and about 10 of us went over to try out Lumberjack Pizza as it was just down the street from the Hotel Monte Vista where we were staying. We all enjoyed the pizza they had as we all got various pies. It's a place where you walk up to the counter and order your pizza. They give you a number for your seat and they bring it over to you. You can also get a beer at the counter while waiting for your pizza. The girl working behind the counter (I think she said her name was Elyse) was very sweet and helpful when ordering. I went here with some friends and ordered a margarita pizza, everyone else's food came out in like 5 minutes. About 30 minutes pass and everyone else finished their food already, so i go up to the counter to ask for my pizza to go, and then they immediately put it in a box for me. We came here on a Saturday night after some bar hopping in Flagstaff. It was just the ticket to soak up the excess alcohol. They have a good variety of pizza by the slice. I think we got one meat-y slice and one veggie slice (details are fuzzy due to the bar hopping that occurred prior to our arrival here). They had a special for a slice and a drink, and that drink could be a BEER not just a soft drink! YAY! They had three or four types of beer that were included in the special. The slices were great - loaded with cheese and toppings but still maintaining a crispy crust. I'm not going to comment on pricing because a) I don't remember so it likely wasn't overly cheap or overly expensive; and b) with inflation being what it is, what's the point?!
