We were craving an iced coffee drink to combat the hot humid afternoon walking around New Orleans, Louisiana. We saw this coffeehouse and decided to give it a try. Nope, wasn't really happy with this coffee joint. I was in the Royal Sonesta as a guest and sailed right past here after the first time I tried their coffee. It was just bitter and over extracted for it to even be enjoyable. I love PJ's, but the staff at this location were so bad I thought I was going to cry. I ordered a Bananas Foster Cold Brew Cream and when I started drinking it, it didn't taste at all like the ones I've had before. So they made adjustments, but it still wasn't it. They made 3 more adjustments and at the end the whole coffee was just a mix of everything they tried and they refused to just make it from scratch. Waste of time and money. I walked past several spots in the French Quarter with lines down the block for a basic cup of Joe. Usually coffee shops don't offer great food options but this PJs rocks. I am a no frills coffee drinker - black, and their coffee was smooth, well balanced. You MUST try their burritos. Worth every penny. The staff was pleasant and the shop even has clean and comfortable seating, which is rare in FQ. It's a great location, felt festive this holiday season. read more

I've been wanting to try their coffee for a few months now since my last visit to NOLA, so I did so upon my return for a weekend birthday celebration. They are conveniently located near Gumbo Ya Ya's (see my review on them as well), which is in the vicinity of a mall, shopping stores, and plenty of eateries. We were warmly greeted, no long lines, and I appreciate the simplicity of the menu: small, medium, large. There were nice seating areas too to catch the activities outside that might be going right outside the window. So very nice, can't wait to return. read more

Be aware when you order light ice it's a $1.00 upcharge. This means you are paying for about one half once of milk, coffee, or water. I'm not real happy about that what a rip off. Any other coffee shops I have been to and it is many don't charge an extra fee for an extra once of coffee, milk, or water. Sometimes when you order an iced coffee you get about 2 once's of product and the rest is ice. This is not a good value. read more

I am a disabled US Army veteran with a service dog I have been a regular patron of this establishment for the past 5 weeks spending 20 to 40 dollars every time I come in almost every day today the owner told me that I'm not allowed to come back because of my dog even though she never done anything she has a service dog he knows she is a service dog and I even provided proof through her ID card and paperwork and he said he "does not care "I asked for his name he hands me his card I informed him I informed him that I was going to file a complaint with the Americans with disability act and he immediately grabs my hand trying to rip the card out of my hand assaulting me in the front of the store he then stated if I don't leave he will call the cops I said go ahead call the cops inform them how you assaulted a United States Army veteran in the front of your store after violating the ADA... People like this should not be running a business let alone working around people especially when the majority of the people are disabled veterans if it wasn't for my service dog doing her job I would not be here to make this post now read more

It's taken me many years to finally understand something... I completely and totally understand why Starbucks owns the market when it comes to service and coffee etc. I've been to PJ's a few times now, and each time I've been met with the worst customer service ever. It's not uncommon to see people sleeping in chairs like it's a halfway house, and dirty cups etc. left on the tables. The tables don't look like they have been wiped down very often. Initially I was drawn in buy one of the drinks that they advertise as this coconut coffee goodness. I explained the woman standing behind the counter that this was my first time in the store, and that I'm not a huge coffee drinker, so I was looking for more of a flavor versus anything else. I specifically asked about the sweetness etc. of the drink. She assured me that she could make the drink with more of a hint of coffee and that it was going to be on the sweeter side. Perfect. I made the mistake of not trying the coffee drink while I was in the store. That's on me. The drink was absolutely horrible and not worth the six dollars. My experience was pretty much the same the next couple of times that I stopped in. Customer service is nonexistent and the people standing behind the counter, generally it's one or two people, act as if they don't want to be there, and purchasing something from them is a total inconvenience. First time coming to a PJs. Wife was excited bc she heard good things. Not sure if it just this location or what but the service was terrible. Hardly any eye contact. Not polite. The caramel creme that my wife ordered wasn't even made according to what the recipe said. A guy ordered ahead of us and came back to the counter to say he ordered a macha and what he got wasn't that. The employee said, "oh I heard you say mocha". He reiterated that he said macha and she replied with, "well I know what I heard." My wife runs a coffee shop where we are from and was really looking forward to trying this. I'm not a morning person. I was in New Orleans for a wedding and this PJ's was connected to my hotel. It was a godsend. Great little spot to get something quick. This place is very similar to Starbucks minus the various coffee creative options. I initially wanted a bagel with cream cheese and they had ran out of both. It was around 12:30 noon, so not sure how early they run out. I settled for a warm crossaint and a yogurt parfait. Both were very good and fresh. They had various bakery items on display like muffins, wraps, fruit cups, and drinks. I did find the prices a bit high for a bakery place. They have a spacious seating area as well. read more

There are so many places to eat in New Orleans but sometimes I just want a light breakfast. PJs was right next door to our hotel and so very convenient for a quick breakfast before heading out for a day of sightseeing. Staff was very friendly and they have some great breakfast sandwiches. I tried the scone but it seemed a little under cooked. There is a small area to sit and relax while eating. They have a good selection of hot and cold drinks.
