I won't be going back as long as the older man in the overalls works there. We live 3 blocks away & not only do my husband & I go at least once a day, I'm a tour guide & send my guests there for refreshments after my tours. I own PJs shirts, cups, & you know that little display with pecan-themed merchandise that was inside to support the little girl's business endeavors? My binders all have her stickers on them. The other morning I was visiting with my husband & tried to use my tour guide discount for a drink & snack on my way to work. The man in the overalls made me feel like a sneaky, greedy thief. He rounded on me & demanded to know what refreshments were mine. In front of other customers, too. He wasn't even the person ringing me up! He had me tell him what company I work for, whether I was about to do a tour (my license was on the counter so I clearly wasn't lying). Then fussed at the other employee to make sure it was only my stuff that was getting the discount (it was), as my husband was with me. My husband doesn't use my discount!!! Needless to say, I didn't use my discount either & never will again. We won't be stopping by anymore. My tour guests will now be directed to Avenue Cafe or French Truck. If he treats guides like that, how is he to regular customers? Sorry, PJs...but after 6 years of faithfulness, my heart is broken. Oh! Literally the only coffee shop i have ever been to that refused to make a shaken espresso (a menu item) because it would "take too long" after having already rejected making another drink for the same reason. There is a dog in here, the dog jumped on the counter and he put my ham and Swiss croissant on the counter in the exact spot where the dog jumped. Definitely gives that local New Orleans coffee shop vibe. My only area of improvement is the cleanliness could be better. This is a pretty good PJ's with a friendly staff. I love the fact that it's big and the windows let in a lot of natural light. I ordered my regular large iced coffee and it was good, but I think that the half and half I added to it was off. It had an odd taste, so I blame the add-in. There are plenty of big tables so that you can sit and do work and, of course, the wi-fi is free. This wouldn't be my first choice for a NOLA PJ's, mainly because there's a sketchy gas station across the street, but it gets the job done if you're in the area. read more

Maybe it's because I'm from Seattle or maybe it's because the coffee was so-so. We ordered an iced and hot vanilla late. The iced was super sweet, in a good way, and the hot seemed to need a little sweetness. The coffee was good. Nothing special. What I did like about this location is that is off of Bourbon Street, which is pretty boisterous, and it was pretty well insulated from the sound. It was a good place to take a break relax. Love the location, and the decor. We were skeptical about this location since there was another (that we loved) close by at The Saulet, but apparently that one closed in favor of this one. The spot is beautiful, they've preserved the location with the whole "shabby chic" that gives this town it's flavor. The snacks are tasty and they've got lots of stuff for sale in a non-obtrusive way. The coffee is problematic though. On a hot day there's nothing I love more than a nice icy granita, but the espresso is just left outside all day. They don't make it fresh. There's just a pot sitting there. Espresso goes bad in like, a few minutes. Accordingly, the coffee just tastes bad. It was never as good as the Saulet location and I don't see that anything has changed since they opened, so I'm disappointed. This neighborhood is drowning in coffee shops so they're going to have to step up their game if they want this location to be a success. read more

This PJ's is across the street from the Hop on/Hop off bus stop #11. I jumped off here because I was parched and headed over to PJ's. The inside is nice and clean and the A/C was workin' real good. I've never seen Nitro coffee before, so of course, I had to try it. Although it is more expensive than an iced coffee, I would say it is a better deal because it is really cold without any ice so you get more for your money. The nitro coffee lived up to its marketing...creamy, cold, and smooth. Like a non-alcoholic Guinness almost. The barista was friendly and gave me some good recommendations for lunch in the area. read more
