When I got my sandwich, it looked pretty hefty - a good amount of beef for $10! But it looked more well done - far from medium rare. Took a couple of bites and was underwhelmed. It was bland and under seasoned. I had to go up to the condiment bar to mix myself up some horsey sauce - mayo + horseradish. It helped, but was still disappointed that the beef itself was so bland. There was only 1 server for all the tables, so I'm not sure if they were just under staffed and having a hard time, but you only get one chance at a first impression and this was not a good one. Shade provided by a big billboard. Plenty of tables provided outside. I don't remember any indoor seating. Sandwich was five stars. Tender pink beef and moist. Sliced very thin. Nice portion. I think the beef could have used a touch more salt. There is no condiment bar that I remember seeing. I would have added a touch of salt to the beef. I also would have added some mayo to the bun. Maybe if I had asked for it? Ambiance was good with the woods, but there was a generator going in the back of the place. Traffic noise from Rt 214 can be heard but not horrible. The Yelp reviews have this place at 4.5 stars which is about right, I think, compared to some of the places closer to Baltimore. So if you're in the neighborhood and you're in the mood for Pit Beef, you definitely will want to check out Bayside Bull.
