This place is nothing short of amazing, the best of GBY right here. We eat here every time we visit for Packer games. Simply a must!!!

We were in town on vacation and stopped in for dinner. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. We loved the tall, private booths. Tamara was our server and she was fabulous! My son has a few food allergies and she was very considerate of them, along with the chef. The food was delicious! My son got a steak cooked to perfection. My husband and I split a couple of appetizers and a burger, which I can honestly say was the best burger I have ever had. Even the house Cabernet was better than most. I wish this place was where we lived because we would come here a lot. Highly recommend! read more

Great food, service, and ambiance! It was quite busy for a Monday but we made reservations and although we showed up a bit early, we got seated right at our reserved time in a couple's booth. Water was already set on the tables and our waitress greeted us and talked about the specials right away. She was really attentive and super nice. Can't say no to complimentary bread with dipping sauce, butter and olives! It was quite the treat! Love how they support the local Great Harvest, that bread was delicious! We also ordered the grilled cheese as an appetizer and it was great! We ordered scallops with the day's veggies which ended up being green beans and a ribeye with green beans. The first time I went it was really good but the last two times I was disappointed. Today I got the fed pork chop. It was over cooked but served hot unlike the risotto. I didn't eat most of the food. Admittedly I didn't say anything as I didn't want a fuss. For a meal at $70 a person I would expect it to not need to be sent back. Honestly I'll simply go here less and I'll order more conservatively (salad and soup, not steak). read more

My love for Plae Bistro is never ending. Whenever I'm in town for business, I must find a way to come here. I have never updated a yelp review for a restaurant this many times before but for Plae, I'll do it because I simply love this place. Granted, I ran into service issues on past visits where getting water glasses refilled seemed to be a reoccurring problem but I'm happy to report that my faith in Plae's has been restored as I experienced ZERO problems on this recent visit. I wasn't very hungry for dinner (but clearly that didn't deter me from eating here, haha) so I wanted to order something small. My colleague recommended that I try the pecan encrusted scallops - it's listed as a shareable on the menu. Man o man am I happy that she did. The picture I uploaded does zero justice for visual appeal and certainly doesn't capture the deliciousness of scallop, Portobello mushroom, mascarpone cheese, and risotto. AKA it don't look like much but I promise you it tastes amazing. I'm usually don't like my risottos too cheesy so if you're like me, you'll find that Plae sauced this perfectly. The mascarpone accents the risotto, it doesn't dominate it. Scallops cooked to perfection and paired (who knew?!) so well with pecans. The whole thing was divine. Though it only be 2 scallops in this appetizer, the richness kept me fully satisfied for over 2 hours. Verdict: I may need to order this appetizer for every future visit now. read more

GREAT JOB POST-COVID We stopped in for dinner on May 28th. THANK YOU for being open! We were greeted by a hostess and got a table that was separated from the next booth because of the natural high booth wall. Our server was very friendly and took extreme caution at our table. She used a separate napkin to deliver all items to the table (So happy they don't wear gloves, all that encourages is never washing hands), so knowing they were trained on this step and actually did it was great! We started out with the Grilled Cheese Bites for an app and they were delicious! So yummy and the presentation was awesome. For dinner I had the Gourmet Mac 'n Cheese + Chicken and Bacon and the wife had a chicken dish. Both were great! The inside was beautiful! I think it got remodeling sometime in the past. A group of four of us went here for a special occasion. The interior and ambiance was dark but enough lighting for a cozy and intimate vibe. The staff was very welcoming and service was great. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer. I loved the breading on it. Something about the two accompanying sauces weren't necessarily my favorite. I'm not sure if one of them had wasabi in it--I can't quite pinpoint what was off but it was like a sriracha aioli with something else. The other sauce tasted like a marinara which, again, wasn't my preference. I ordered the crab tenderloin that came with garlic and chive mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. I think the crab tenderloin needed more seasoning. The cook on it was great with a nice sear. I was hoping for more garlic to come through on the potatoes. The roasted vegetables were phenomenal. Not overly cooked at all with the right amount of seasoning. I think this is where I give Plae one less star. As the main entree and paying almost $50 for the plate, I expect it to be stellar on most fronts and they got it right on 1/3 of it. Now dessert time. They came with a wide selection already cut for us to choose from. We got the carrot cake to share amongst the four which was plenty even enough to take home! I ate dinner at Plae Bistro this week. This is a charming restaurant with beautiful chandeliers, cozy booths and chairs. Since I was by myself, I sat at the bar and service was prompt. Drink menu is fairly extensive with plenty of beers on tap, craft cocktails, and very good wine list by the bottle, and a few by the glass. I would have liked to see a few more glass options. Menu is pretty eclectic and there is something for everyone. I ordered the Halibut based on the bar tenders recommendation. It came was grilled asparagus and either the mashed potatoes or the crab pepper risotto. The fish was served with a orange flavored sauce. While I waited for my fish, I was served complimentary cheddar bread and it was amazing. The bread was served warm with a herbed butter, olive oil and and olive tempanade. The bread alone is reason enough to visit. My fish was prepared well and it was good but it wasn't amazing. For the price ($36), i expected a little more oomph! The asparagus and the crab risotto were fine. They also have walleye, Tuna, salmon and Sea Bass on the menu. Apparently the grilled sea bass flown in from Hawaii has been a #1 seller for 9 years. Had it not been the $45 price tag, I may have gotten that instead. I think this is great dining spot in town, but I feel some of the entree prices are a little absurd. read more

I've been here to eat just once, but I actually really enjoy just coming for a glass of wine at the bar. The atmosphere here is more upscale for the area (though there seems to be a bit of a trend in this direction in the Green Bay area). It's a large space, but it doesn't feel like it with the echoes and the high volume. The dinner I had here was fantastic and delicious, and I've never gone wrong with their wine selection. They also have delicious looking holiday drink specials (salty nut roll martini, for one). I've always had decent service as well, whether it was a full meal or just a drink at the bar. The servers have always been willing to provide recommendations. It's not really near anything else, which I can't figure out if that's good or bad (upscale-ish dining in a strip mall?). Prices are also high for the area (I'm from Chicago and these prices seem more in line with places down there). If you're doing it for a special occasion I could see it, but that does make it a bit less accessible for more frequent trips. Their holiday decorations are also on point! read more

We were warmly greeted and promptly seated by a very friendly hostess for lunch. Our server, greeted us and took our drink orders. Irene was attentive, professional and couldn't have been nicer. We ordered a goat cheese appetizer first and then ordered an apple and pear salad and a Plae burger with vegan chili. Everything was prepared well and tasted delicious. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $18.00 got me a generous portion of Wild Mushroom and Chicken Ravioli, which was reasonable. Having said that, I would soon find out that this was really only a few pieces of ravioli doused in cheese. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? So it's here that things went a bit awry. I like ravioli, and the actual pieces of mushroom ravioli here were perfectly fine. However, as you can see in the picture I took, these pieces of ravioli were absolutely doused in cheese, as in, dear god this is too much cheese even for mac and cheese. Frankly, it ruined the dish. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? I want to say yes here, but in that my dish was a bit off and neither my Dad or Uncle raved about their dishes, I can't be sure I'd be excited to come back. No Star. read more

This pains me to update my two previous five star reviews since this has always been a favorite Green Bay restaurant. Went with two friends for lunch. Hostess was very gracious when I said we would be about 15 minutes late for our reservation which was appreciated. I ordered one of my favorite combos - tomato bisque and grilled Caesar salad. The soup was as good as always but the salad was drowning in dressing. Our server didn't come by to ask how things were and I ended up leaving more than half of it on the plate. I did mention it when our plates were collected but was met with a shrug. But what bothered me most was when I looked at my receipt and noticed the line that said that $2.99 would be added to ALL transactions. Although not happy about that, I get it that business need to recoup credit card fees but I also believe we should have been told this upfront. Went to Plae for FAT TUESDAY and wow the Jambalaya was AMAZING! We have always loved Plae for their great food and wonderful staff, but that Jambalaya was the best we have ever had. And we've been to New Orleans! 100 stars WORTH IT! Topped it off with some boudin balls and gumbo. Plae should consider putting that delicious Jambalaya on the menu, permanently! It was THAT good. The food is good and the servers are excellent. I live in Los Angeles and this place rates right up there with some of the best in. L.A. What a nice surprise to find a restaurant walking distance from the Holiday Inn express in Green Bay Wisconsin. The restaurant has a vibrant bar area, but I chose to sit at a table. Their beer selection is vast and plentiful and changes seasonally I ordered a salad with apples and pears and it was huge. Ingredients seemed fairly fresh there were a teeny bit of salad greens that were right in the verge of going. Not a big deal. I ate around it. Lol. The French onion soup was also a very pleasant surprise. It was hot and cheesy and melty and delicious. The complementary bread and olive spread that comes out before the meal is also a very nice touch! Service was attentive and friendly, without being overbearing, drinks were topped off and I was checked on by my server as well as a manager, and the ambience was very nice after a long day of road warrior life. First of all make sure ALL your party is at the restaurant when you make a reservation. We had reservations for party of 4 my husband was running a little behind. The waitress said she couldn't seat us yet. Mind you three of the four were present, and to not seat us at the same table you would seat customers at the same table for 4 was disappointing. Horrible customer service. Fist time and hopefully last time there I had a blackened salmon but it was over burnt and when I told the waiter he said "that's how a blackened salmon looks...just as you requested" so rude like if I had no clue what a blackened salmon looks like. He said we're just going to put water and scrape the top part...instead of making another one...and then my daughter didn't like her soup and the manager never offered something in exchange or remove it from the bill. I don't understand how I haven't reviewed what might be my favorite restaurant. Everything on the menu is delicious - you simply can not make a wrong choice. I love the seared ahi tuna salad which I've gotten a few times. One time it came with a piece of pumpkin chocolate chip bread which I thought was an odd pairing at first - but after one bite you just stop asking questions and enjoy. Soups, salads, wraps, appetizers, special dishes - if I lived closer I'd probably eat here a couple times a week. Higher end presentation and feel with reasonable prices.
