I had such a wonderful experience at Planet Cosmetics in the Galleria, thanks to the lovely associate Abby! I had originally stopped by Macy's, but didn't feel like walking all the way to Sephora. Then I remembered I had "find a healthy, non-toxic lipstick" on my shopping list--and that's when I discovered this gem of a store. Abby greeted me warmly and was incredibly knowledgeable. When I asked about clean, non-toxic cosmetics, she introduced me to Jane Iredale. I was honestly surprised--I had used Jane Iredale years ago, but stopped because the colors didn't show up well. But Abby showed me how much the line has improved--the pigments are richer, the variety is better, and there are more beautiful options than before. She helped me find the perfect foundation shade, walked me through lip liners, moisturizing lip colors, and helped me choose a gorgeous eye shadow palette. Her care and attention made it such a fun and uplifting shopping experience. I've never frequented this establishment before as I tend to buy hair products directly from a salon, online direct from the company or Sephora (was closed) as well as the occasional grocery store budget. Well, I didn't realize Planet Beauty exists and is open to everyone. They had olaplex products in stock. Since this is during covid, I didn't loiter to see what else they had but seemed to have a bunch of products which also include hard to finds like bumble and bumble products. They have a new gal there by Dana, who was so unprofessional. She has this hatred look in her eyes - you can just feel it- like she's prejudice of other ethnicity shopping here. I noticed her treatment with other non Asian customers were more pleasant and genuine. I enjoyed shopping here in the years past but this trip made me very uncomfortable to be a loyal customer. I got two liters of my shampoo and conditioner and a favorite spray I use for my hair, and she acted as if I couldn't afford it. DANA needs more training on customer service! read more

I went to this location for the first time on 4th of July and I will definitely be back again. Very clean, organized store. I was getting sick of not being able to find what I wanted at Sally's Beauty, let alone trying to get one of the employees to help me, so this place left a great impact on me. Upon entering, an esthetician asked me what I needed help finding (which was a waxing kit) and she directed me to all of their waxes. Gigi is what I decided upon, since you can really never go wrong with that brand, and I checked out the store a little before paying at the register. I cannot for the life of me remember the cashier's name (probably because I was too focused on her awesome makeup) but she really made the experience. Very funny, talked to me on a personal level about the product, and between her and the esthetician the store was very welcoming. If anyone from the store reads this, your cashier with the chest/sleeve tattoos and septum ring was awesome. :) I will definitely recommend this store to anyone based off the customer service alone. I'm not a crazy fan of cosmetics, but I'd go back and see what other services they offer, since it looks like it's a doppelganger salon, too. read more

Okay, this place totally deserves an updated review. After I posted my original review on yelp, Katie from Planet Beauty got in touch with me. She went out of her way to find a hair dyer that would work for my hair type. The store doesn't typically carry this specific dyer so she had it shipped to the store specifically for me and she emailed me when it came in. I was able to exchange my blow dryer for the new one with the discount applied. When I went in, I was nervous it might be awkward but the manager Kim was friendly, and she let me test the heat and speed of the dryer and threw in a nail polish. I'm really happy the company took note of my review and they really went above and beyond to make it right. They really did a great job. Hopefully they make some internal changes about the way their exchange policy is stated and enforced. If I am at the mall, and I need something, I'll shop there. I consider myself a long term customer of Planet Beauty because of the variety of brands they carry and more importantly the excellent customer service continually provided by their staff, particularly Dana. Dana is always so helpful, happy, and suggests new products based on what I buy that she thinks I would benefit from. Do not buy any styling products from this place. I bought a curling iron and after 29 days the coating on the barrel was chipping off. When I brought it back to the store I was told that they have a 14 day return policy. I took the mfg name and made contract with them, only to be told that it is under warranty but I have to send it back for replacement. Not only do I have the expense of shipping back a defective product, but now I am without a curling iron. As a distributor, this company should stand behind their merchandise take my iron back and replace it. They can return it to the manufacturer, and keep a customer happy. Very poor business practice, and will never shop there again. I will go to Kohl's, Target, JC Penny, anyone else that would exchange my product. read more

What I don't like about this store is that you can't return a lot of different items. No returns on Kerastase, for example, which is annoying because it's very difficult to find Kerastase products, so I have to buy them here, however, not everything from that line is worth the price. Anyway, some of the ladies who work at this location are not the most friendly, but the woman with the pink hair is incredibly sweet and helpful. This Salon is the best salon I get all my beauty products at. The staff is amazing they are always there to help and give you trials of anything new you like to try. I always come out of there happy and with a new cosmetics or beauty products. Terrible costumer service. Two times I have walked in both had a bad experience. This review is for the associate who helped my husband and I today. I came into purchase an expensive product that was listed for full price in the store and cheaper online. After hearing that i had told the first associate who helped me that I was going to purchase it online because it was cheaper and went to leave when Renee came from the back after hearing that and asked a few questions about the price I was seeing online. She asked if I would be willing to wait a few moments for her to call her manager and see if she could match the price for me so I could purchase it from them. After getting the okay from her manager, I was able to purchase it in store and they even included a product that the online website included in the special. So sweet and helpful. While I know they are trying to sell stuff, Renee genuinely helped me solve a problem with my dry cuticles. The solution she found cost all of 6 dollars, and it turns out she recommended a lotion I already use to top off the recommended treatment. I probably won't be coming back here after my experience today. So I shopped at this store when it was still located on the upper level, and passed by it at it's new location downstairs today when I was shopping. When I went to ring up my item I asked the associate if she could look me up for my membership I had signed up a long time ago seeing how I didn't have my card on hand with me that day. I'm pretty sure that's when the rudeness on her part began. She stated "we aren't sephora, we don't have membership cards". I told her I was given planet beauty card when I signed up over a year ago that gave me 20% off on my purchase and that the worker even gave me a free nail polish on my birthday for being a member. She stated that she's been working there for years and that they have never given cards or discounts or birthday freebies. At this point I was a little taken back by her tone and I was confused so to clarify I asked her if this is the same company that was located upstairs, she turned on a patronizing tone and said "yes we're the same one, I'm happy for you but we don't do that". By this turn in time I just wanted to pay for my stuff and leave and that's what I did. When I got outside I dug through my wallet to double check I wasn't being lucid and long behold I found my planet beauty membership card that stayed in bold print "20% Off VIP membership". Went back in to show her the card and all she had to say "oh that membership! Yeah we used to do those". Oh now you remember? Mind you I didn't get an apology or discount applied. I am writing this comment regarding Erika Kearney the Stylist @ Planet Beauty Salon in Roseville, CA in the Galleria. Upon my third visit for a haircut with Erika, I discovered that I did not have my wallet to pay for her services as I left it on the kitchen counter, I felt embarressed to have walked in so I thought it best to turn around to get it. I was 10 min late. leaving 50min (just a trim).She rescheduled me for another day. The next day I received a call from a coworker on my msg machine telling me that there was a conflict and canceled my appt, She also stated that Ulta was across the street and I should schedule it there. I was very insulted and felt disrespected as a client. I could see if this had happened numerous times but it did not. I feel that in these hard times when finances are tough, paying $45 plus a tip of $5 for her one hour of service is one that I have a hard time understanding.Especially since I am unemployed.I have asked two other stylists and they both felt this was unacceptable behavior on her part-what would she have done in my shoes? Just wonder! I guess she feels that she does not need the money or client. I am a good person (altho I am in my 60's) maybe I am just too old for her! I am happy to say that I have found a wonderful and more gifted stylist than her so all is good but just DO NOT BE LATE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT!!!!!! read more

I do not recommend shopping here. Dana Diana? (the older blonde haired female, possibly in her 40s +) has this hatred look in her eyes. She is unpleasant. Which I was, and she didn't allow it. Now I'm stuck with these products and my money spent for nothing. In a rude a tone and without even checking the lost and found (lucky me there was a young girl there and she checked) this monster of a woman makes me feel uncomfortable and is not helpful, she talks to me like Im a 2 year old child and lies about discounts so you could pay full price. Every time I have been in there it's like entering Hell. I suggest do not shop here, if you want to get beauty supplies go shop at ulta. They have great return policy and do refunds too.
