Craving for something to quench that thirst and no I do not mean with gatorade. Planet juice has a pretty good variety of things that can do just that. Smoothies, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc. and if you have the munches or just want a quick snack on the go. they also sell a lot of snacks like chips, Cliff bars, nuts, Bagels, etc. did I mention they have a hot dog stand? You can get a cheesedog or a bacon wrapped dog. breakfast or lunch on the go for working/school folks. just speaking of it makes my mouth start to water! My bf ordered the "crazy coffee smoothie" and I got their #1 seller the "kona sunset smoothie". small size was the perfect portion size for me. you however can order medium or large as well. They filled the cup to the max. [i had to mention this because sometimes when i order a smoothie my cup is not filled up and i see them dump the rest. it's such a waste. i just wanna kill whats in my cup and whats in the blender!] it wasn't too sweet. And it definitely quenched my thirst. the really neat thing is you can even place your order by phone because they do curbside pick-up. you don't even have to leave the car if you're truly on the go. anywho, back to my experience. I ordered their mother load which is a waffle with one scoop of vanilla ice cream, blueberry and strawberries with Biscoff spread [you could also choose nutella instead]. I had to skip out on whip cream and chocolate syrup because i didn't wanna overload my body with calories. :P The texture had just the right amount of crunch. Not super sweet. The portion was just right as well. It wasn't super big or too small. I was greedy so I ate the whole darn thing on my own. It was just so yummy I couldn't help myself. I didnt have that guilty feeling afterwards like i usually would after having a dessert. The mother load and a small smoothie did however made me feel full. It was definitely a tasty treat and left me super satisfied. I wished I lived closer to planet juice, I totally would be coming here all of the time. Although they had An average review/rating on yelp, I had to investigate further on why. The owner told me that they recently took ownership about two years ago and they made tremendous changes to the business. So if you're reading some of the old reviews disregard them because there's new management in town and they are out to win you over! because i'm totally won over! Great customer service. they also have a rewards program so make use of it, if you have a special spot for smoothies and waffles. There's plenty of parking because they share the parking lot with trader Joe and other stores. they take cash and credit card with a minimum purchase of $3.95. I go for the smoothies. Often. Like too often. This small shop gets swamped especially when school is in session (it's across the street from a high school) so be prepared to wait, but the wait is worth it. Juices, smoothies, bagel sandwiches, frozen yogurt - and the serving size on the frozen yogurt is outrageous. So I've been here a few times and it's been decent. Today I came in and ordered two green smoothies. I walked away and as I was waiting I realized I said the wrong name of the smoothie. I quickly ran up to the cashier to ask him which one I had ordered (knowing that I likely made a mistake) and before letting me finish asking my question, he was so rude and said "we already blended them and can't change it" then walked away as I stood there. I wasn't going to demand them to change it... I simply wanted to see if they could change the order before it got blended or purchase new smoothies but I was so disappointed to see how rude/ impatient he was. In one of the few hot days this summer in Marin I fortunately stumbled into Planet Juice. This shop is located in the Montecito Plaza on 3rd St and this area is not parking friendly at all, but Planet Juice is worth it. I've had the Mango Madness and the Banana Coconut Smoothie during the few times I've been here and they're really, really good. But the main attraction is the Jetsons. SO SO GOOD!! Go to smoothie place in San Rafael. Love the smoothies here but if you come on a hot day, be prepared to wait about 10-15 minutes for your smoothie. Hidden gems in San Rafael. My friend brought us here after a hike in SF and it was definitely worth the stop. They are known for their smoothies among other treats such as acai bowls, bagel sandwiches, etc. You would think... "Why can't I just go to Jamba Juice?!" Because Jamba doesn't add FROYO to their smoothies! That's the reason why they're so delicious and the texture is satisfying to drink. I got the Kona Sunset which has watermelon juice, strawberries, mangoes, and frozen yogurt. Regular is a good size but I really wish I had a large! I hope I'm in the area again so I can try more flavors cause I heard you can't go wrong with any choice you make! I usually get the Kona Sunset, but whenever I come with other people, I've tried their smoothies and I still really enjoy it. The service is pretty good and my drink comes out right away. I am addicted to Planet Juice's frozen yogurt. A kid's cone of soft-serve frozen yogurt (chocolate and vanilla swirl) is only $1. And you don't have to be a kid to order it. It's the perfect size. I keep thinking about that Seinfeld where Elaine and Jerry become addicted to "non-fat frozen yogurt" which turns out not to be non-fat because Planet Juice's frozen yogurt is so good--it tastes just like soft-serve ice cream--that it's probably not that healthy. Not like the tart all natural kind at least. But for $1, I'm not going to question it. Planet Juice also has a great smoothie menu, including kale smoothies. It's clear that the smoothies are the real deal made with natural, fresh ingredients, rather than a frozen sugar mix. The prices are decent, too. For the Jetsons is greatest smoothie in all the galaxy. It's almost as though George and Judy are in the back sprinkling memories of the time they met up with the Flintstones into every tasty smoothie. Planet Juice is unique and fun and I'm starting to sound like a commercial. Their acai bowls are the best part of the shop to be honest. They're pretty pricey for what they are, but they're the best around and I'm actually willing to pay for that. I'm a fan of how much granola they put in there. Way more than at other places I've been to where I seemingly run out of granola after a few bites and end up having to basically drink my bowl. The acai itself isn't too sweet or too sour, kind of just right if you use the Goldilocks scale of approval. Your experience may vary depending on the juice or smoothie you get here. You can end up with something more like a dessert than a smoothie, or you can end up drinking something that tastes like a forest. Just read the menu and don't be surprised by what you get. In all, it's one of the better places in San Rafael to go to if you're looking for a quick and easy snack/drink. read more

I have to say that this place is very sufficient. The only reason that I would recommend Jamba @ Northgate slightly more is that they have a Pirate's Booty and Cream Smoothie for Jamba Insiders which is absolutely incredible, but the fact that they offer turmeric shots here makes it very close in competition. For the past several weeks, I've come here three times a day for a turmeric shot in my smoothie, sometimes with my friends (once before work, once during my lunch, and once after work). The turmeric shots always add a little sensuality to the tongue, and were a perfect way for me to find a substitute for my alcohol addiction. I was really excited to see this place and equally disappointed once I got my juice. I got an extra large custom vegetable juice that was completely watered down. I juice regularly and have tried many of the other places in the area and this for sure is the worst. In addition their single use plastic was pretty disappointing. The best acai bowl I've ever had. Once again the staff was really nice and helpful in helping me decide which bowl to order.
