Not impressed/ pizza seems a bit cheap- the Dough was decent - just ingredients gave me heartburn.

I used to come here 15 years ago and there was two big Italian brothers or relatives that ran the place now they're not here they're in their other branch. I ordered beef tortellini soup, which tasted like water. It needed garlic powder, salt, oregano, and it really needed a strong chicken stock, but it tasted like water.. I ordered a meatball Parm sub. The meatballs were cold in the middle. They tasted like a sponge when I bit into them they were watery and flavorless.. Growing up with an Italian sister our meatballs always had oregano Parmesan cheese they had flavor. These were like watery sponges and they weren't that hot but the cheese was melted and they take the meatballs. They put them on the sub and they throw it in the oven until the cheese melts but the meatballs were cool in the inside.. the spaghetti sauce tasted like right out of the can it was not garlic there was no oregano no basil it was like right out of the can very bland the food has gotten very bland I've tried to give it several tries and I will not be going there again the food just isn't seasoned and it doesn't taste anything like Italian food anymore. when I came in, I waited a long time to get served a drink or a menu, so I picked up my own menu, grab my own silverware. Went here on Wednesday July 3rd 2024 with my parents to grab some food during our town's fireworks display. We ordered via the slice app, which seems to be easy ordering from. We ordered fried Moserella sticks, vegetarian wrap, nicky g hero, and another sandwich which i can't remember lol. Funny that if you order a wrap it doesn't come with anything, like fries or something. Anyways, food was ready when we got there, and of course it was quite busy in the restaurant due to the fireworks. We paid via the app, so it was definetely easier picking it up. We ate where we sat down for the fireworks and enjoyed the meal. i enjoyed my moserella sticks, too. Hope to be back soon! read more

The dinner started off great as the cheese fries were fantastic, the waitress was attentive to us as we awaited for our meals. 30 minutes later we still didn't have our food and our attentive waitress had disappeared, she finally stopped by to say that she was sorry but an order for 6 pies took priority over us and we would have to wait just a little bit longer. When our food finally came out the chicken in the Stromboli was rubbery, the calzone was raw and the slices of gourmet pizza were not even cooked properly. They took plain slices, warmed them up and then tossed ingredients on, so the toppings weren't even melted to the pie. At the end of the meal the waitress basically said that she was sorry she is normally busy. I'm not sure what that meant as we were the only table that she had, so perhaps she could have been more attentive. This was a poor choice of places to eat and I would not recommend. They also hit you with a service charge if you use a debit card. One that is not notated anywhere in the store or on the menus. My dog didn't even eat the leftovers I brought home. read more

This place is ridiculous. First off there pizza is mediocre at best, the staff is hit or miss sometimes you call and they're nice other times they are very rude. But today was the craziest thing that's ever happened to me I called and they REFUSED to put cherry peppers on my pizza ! They have them but they only use them for salads, what the f*ck!? Stopped at this establishment this evening for a very simple order of three slices . Upon returning home and opening the box, discovered there were only two . Drove back to the store walked in and explained that we ordered and paid for three slices but only received two and the young man who had taken care of us previously started laughing and said Oh I thought it was three and was very amused by it all . When I looked at him and told him it wasn't funny he had nothing to say what should have happened was an immediate apology for the mistake but I never got that . I took my third slice turned and looked at him and the young lady standing next to him again and once again said it's not funny and left. I had stopped going here for other reasons and now I'm going to stop going again for good . All they had to do was apologize for the mistake when I first described what happened. My boyfriend and I were in town and decided to have an early dinner there. It was our first time and I must say, the food was delicious. We ordered the sweet Thai calamari , Parmesan wings, Caesar salad, and chicken Marsala. We had no idea how big the portions were until we received our food. Everything was delicious!!!. We weren't able to finish our meals. The waitress was really nice, the place had a warm family feel to it, and it wasn't crowded. Unfortunately I disagree with the other reviews. First course , fried calamari, tough - very hard to chew, disappointed. Second, veal parmigiana. Entree was warm, not hot. Also veal parm seemed to be made using prefried cutlet, cold tomato sauce, and cheese put under the broiler to heat up. It was just not freshly made and it was very apparent. My office used to order from here often and then stopped because they were always rude and over priced. I forgot this today and ordered their buffalo chicken salad. The lettuce is hard and yellow. There are probably 5 cucumbers and 3 grape tomatoes cut into threes. I paid $12.92 plus $1.50 tip for a subpar salad to say the least. The only reason they get one star is because the buffalo sauce is good and so is the ranch dressing. We will not be ordering from here again. read more

Worst slice of buffalo chicken pizza I've ever had that didn't come out of the freezer section of the super market. First off they put tomato sauce on it which is a no no yet not a deal breaker, second the buffalo sauce itself is so mild it is almost non existent, third they put low grade chunk-less blue cheese dressing on top of the slice which although it is uncommon still by itself it would not a deal breaker. However these three flaws combined are fatal, truth be told this is not a buffalo chicken slice ....it is a plain slice with buffalo chicken and blue cheese dressing added. The place was ok. I traveled for 2 hours to Monroe for a friend's birthday and after a long ride I was hungry and ordered chicken fingers and fries to be delivered. The delivery was on time I was told it would arrive in 45 minutes and it did but $26 for ok food was just not it for me. The chicken was not the worst just a little dry but the fries weren't good. My family and I have been getting food from planet pizza since 2003. We used to live not far from the restaurant. The last 17 years, we have lived in Highland Mills but we still get our pizza from Planet Pizza. The pizza is great but so are the garlic knots, and the entrees. The Wings are the best I have ever had.I always get the mild and they are plenty hot. Great family owned place and they give back to the community through donations and sponsorships all the time. We went in for dinner because the last time we came the food was really good. This was NOT the case this time. The calamari was extremely over cooked and tasted old. The chicken parm was raw on the inside and hard went trying to cut it. When this was brought up to the waitress ( whom was very nice) the owner did not say anything & still charged full price for the chicken parm. The Pizza Planet in Greenwood lake is better. Not sure if they're related at all, but I'm hesitant to order from this location again. Some of their pizzas don't have marinara sauce, but the menu gives no indication that that would be the case. Ordered a pepper, onion and steak pizza, and was shocked that it came without sauce...why??? Any other pizzeria would put sauce on that. They should let people know when they order if a pizza is missing one of the key ingredients you'd expect from pizza. read more

As a long time resident of both Monroe and NYC, I find Planet Pizza to be a relatively accurate representation of New York style pizza. The pies here are better than ones from other suburban pizza joints but on absolute terms, they're nothing too special. However, I really enjoyed the special "Salad Pizza." With just a light dusting of Parmesan, the combination of fresh tomato, tomato sauce, lettuce and roasted red pepper on plain crust is a refreshing alternative to heavy meats and cheeses. 3 stars because the pizza and wings were fine but all I ordered was 2 slices and a dozen wings and someone could have watched an episode of The Young and the Restless, written a Freedom of Information Act request, and adopted a corgi in the time it took for the pizza and wings to be ready. For a guy who prefers NYC for good food, I know that in Monroe I will get good food at Pizza Planet. They always have a few pies ready for take out (or in) by the slice. I love the tomato basil slice. I actually dislike cherry tomatoes, but when they are sliced in half and meticulously garnished with garlic/cheese/secret ingredients?, all of a sudden it's a delicacy slice. I also love their buffalo chicken slice. Once again, I'm not a fan of buffalo wings, but this slice comes with generous chunks of buffalo chicken and the right smattering of blue cheese dressing which I spread all over the slice. They also have a salad pie which also took me pleasantly by surprise. Delicious too. When it comes to pizza in Monroe, this is where I go and the place I would recommend to anyone. Came here to do some work today because they have free optimum wi-fi (a rarity in Monroe). I ordered the lunch portion of baked ziti for $6.95 and it was perfect. Al Dente, perfect amount of sauce to the fresh mozzarella. Simply put, they do food right here. The waitress who serves me gives me like 8 free refills on my diet coke and always tells me not to rush. THANK YOU! That's good service. Also, they recently updated their dining room, and has is a very nice atmosphere to dine in. I would be proud to take a date here. The two guys who own and run the place are very friendly and they clearly care about the customer. I have to say, one thing my hometown does right is pizza. Monroe has around 6 or 7 pizza joints, and none of them deserves below 3 stars. This place, though, might be the one closest to a 5 star rating. Planet Pizza's buffalo chicken slice is otherworldly. The globs of blue cheese are perfectly and generously distributed on each slice and the chicken is the real deal (not like at Big Mike's). The subs and individual slices are a true bang for your buck. The dining atmosphere, while not the greatest, is nice enough too. If anything, the beautiful waitresses will keep me coming back. I always take as long as I can to order, and often forget my choice as I stare deeply into their eyes... Great place! read more

I recently was in a hurry and went in for a slice. The counterman said a Sicilian pie was coming out in 2 minutes. When it came out, they still had to put the cheese on. When I asked him why he lied to me about the pie being ready in 2 minutes, the man making the pies said "2 minutes or a half hour -what's the difference?" There are plenty of pizza options in Monroe, no option even comes close to Planet Pizza. The pizza is fantastic, perfect crust, and a ton of toppings options.
