I was disappointed because the person making our subs didn't know what went into each sub (he had to look at the menu and still forgot to add some of the ingredients listed). This is my go-to sub shop. Like the other reviewers say, the bread is awesome and the staff has been friendly every time we go in. Time before last, we went in and ordered two subs; the cashier offered the punch card, and we mentioned that we'd been there before. He went ahead and stamped the card extra for our previous visit on our word alone! And this is definitely the place for vegetarian sandwiches. I absolutely love the tempeh parmesan, as a sub and as a wrap--and so does my omnivore boyfriend! If you intend to go more than once, definitely sign up for the email offers. I avoided eating at Planet Sub for most of my life. A recent move put me in downtown StL, needing a sandwich and within walking distance of this place. The staff has always been polite & helpful, and the playing card delivery system works well. I will probably never be a fan of a hot sandwich with mayonnaise on it. When I asked for it w/o, I still got the dressing, so why fight it? It only took me three visits before this place stopped giving me explosive dumps, so three stars seems appropriate. read more

First try of the closest sandwich shop to home. Very good selection of specialty sandwiches in addition to made to order. Plenty of meat and cheese, and not to much of the healthy stuff, which most places do just to make it seem larger. They also offer call ahead orders and delivery. I'm a deli fanatic and know a good sandwich. For a chain, I thought the turkey club was ok. What they do well: bake their own bread, and toast it. What they can improve: quality of the deli meat. I come here for lunch whenever I am downtown. The food is good and the staff is awesome. I haven't tried the bicycle delivery service but from the way the riders scoot out when an order is ready, I have to believe that is good as well. Neat location near the at&t building and culinaria downtown. Menu has a lot of options for fun sandwiches. It is more of a pick a fully configured sandwich and they make it for you as opposed to subway which is build your own. I like this format. Menu has lassics to creative. Service is quick and price reasonable. Will go back. read more

Pretty good! Staff is always friendly! They are usually busy, but they get you through quickly. The only knock, is you usually leave smelling like a short order cook at the end of the dinner rush (they should probably upgrade the exhaust system). I went into Planet Sub for lunch today. I had a horrible experience! The owner Christopher was a complete jerk and very unprofessional and uninterested in my request for light mayo. When I received my sandwich, I noticed after eating it that it had a lot of mayo. I took it to the counter to show that it wasn't prepared how I had requested. Though he offered to remake it, much to my dismay, his demeanor was that of an unprofessional owner that displayed bad customer service in addressing my concerns. His tone was disrespectful to a PAYING customer. Might I add, condescending. I will not recommend this sub shop to anyone if you are looking for great customer service and professionalism. Side note, the food isn't that great to put up with that type of attitude while spending MY money! read more

Sandwiches are toasty wonderful! They have cookies that are addicting. Don't even try the Apple Carmel oatmeal cookie unless you want to start a serious problem for yourself, so good!! Always fast to where I have no issues walking there,getting lunch, and getting back to the office within 15 minutes. They also have one of those coke machines with a ton of options. Only downfall for me? There's no real place to stand when waiting for your to go order. I always feel in the way or crowding those who are dining in. read more

Ordered a sandwich at 12:30pm online and got a confirmation saying I should have it by 1:15pm. I called at 3:00pm because I still had not had it delivered and Chris said he will bring it over in 10 min. He came very fast but the order was not right. I requested a few things off the sandwich and it had it all on there.I called back to let Chris know and he asked if I was allergic to those items. Horrible service when I never had an issue before when I have ordered there. This will be the last time I order from this place! My company places at least 5-10 orders here daily!!! read more
