If I can give 0 stars then I would. This place and all the reviews on here are true! I went in and took a big bag of clothes mostly "teen trendy" what there looking for great condition. As they were looking through the bag I was looking around the store to give myself an idea of what clothes their taking and what's this store about. ( this is my first time in there) I saw them only pull out a few items and then they texted me told me it was done I was only in for 5 mins!! How can you look through all of it in 5 mins anyways I went back up to the counter and she took out the bin and said she's only purchasing 2 items. The very first time I sold my stuff here around 2 years ago, it was a great experience and they actually gave me a decent amount of money! They took most of stuff and even complimented my taste in clothing. I went back recently to sell some stuff for the 3rd time and it was not as pleasant as the first time. The staff seemed kinda rude and judgy. They don't even greet you when you come in... just an overall bad vibe from the start. When I brought in my stuff, the girl was like "we'll let you know when we're done...it shouldn't take long." So I browsed around the store while waiting. Their stuff was not cute. Everything was way overpriced and not even "trendy". I brought in about 3 hampers of shoes and clothes. They took 12 of my items and gave me about 46$! Ridiculous! My clothes are Zara, topshop, f21, h&m, and American apparel. When I was leaving, the staff saw me struggling to carry out my 3 hampers of clothes and not one offered to help me or even offer to hold the door. They didn't even say thank you as I left!! First time here after hearing a lot about this place. First off let me say this place is very clean! It's just about as organized as a thrift shop would get... they have really good brand names at great prices, some items are really worn, but like any other thrift shop it'll be the same. They have a clearance for 50% everything which is nice! They have just about everything, clothing wise. The only I didn't see were long skirts/ knee length skirts!?:(( it's ok they had some free people brand items for 10.00 that's a steal!! Anywho, I will definitely return here at some point. They worker there stated they buy back clothes at 40% cash back so that's not bad, have to give that a try too sometime! I've shopped here before and found a couple good finds. However, I recently went in to drop off some clothes to see how much money I could get for them. I brought in 3 huge trash bags filled with Brandy Melville, Hollister, American Eagle and some other good branded clothes. It took an hour for them to go through my clothes. When I returned, they informed me that they only liked 4 OF MY ITEMS and I would be getting $16!!! What the heck! Don't recommend coming here at all. I went there the other day at 8 (they close at 9) to sell 2 bags of my clothes. One of the workers who had dark black hair asked me if I was selling clothes, and I said yes. She rolled her eyes and slammed like 4 register drawers while making me feel so unwelcome. She then told me with the most attitude "just so you know, we stop taking bags at 8 because we run out of money" and it was literally 8. They looked through my clothes for literally 10 minutes, and I had a ton of clothes, and when I came back, the same dark haired girl told me in such a rude way to go to the other side of the counter to get my things back. They took just a few things, and I don't mind, except they explained to me basically that my clothes were in terrible condition, which they weren't, when the truth was that they just ran out of money. I usually love coming here occasionally to sell clothes last minute or shop, but I will never be coming here again, and I have spoke to several of my friends who told me they got some really rude and disrespectful treatment from these workers. If you choose to work at a place where people sell their clothes, don't complain when you actually have to do your job, and don't be rude to people who did nothing to you. read more

We waited here for almost 2 hours to sell clothes. The bags we brought in hadn't even been gone through. Clothes were in the exact same spot in the plastic bags as when we left them. They had so many buys, they told me they had too many to go through and the wait time was 3 hours. We had 2 huge bags of clothes. She said she would call and there were three people in front of us. She called in 10 minutes. Not enough time to go through three orders and ours. No way. I honestly don't think they even opened them. They bought nothing. We had brand name teen styles, some brand new. Go somewhere else. Total waste of 2 hours. Never again. Worst Platos ever in customer service. I'm very sad to say, but I'll never be returning to this location. I've sold items here in the past and the staff has always been very nice and accommodating. They always would usually take a few items and give me a return I was happy with. This time around though, I've never felt more judged on my life. The staff was completely rude and if you weren't a stick figure with stick figure sizes, you weren't welcome. Even though I had brand name clothing (Brandy Melville, F21, H&M, Dickies, etc) it was all passed up. They bought one crop sweater that I purchase in a boutique in OC for $3. Do I have a feeling it was because my clothing was M and L ? Yes. Which is a shame because I saw girls in the store who weren't a size 0 regretfully put pants back on the rack saying they wished they had bigger sizes! The crazy thing is the last time I sold Hollister shorts here, the worker said we ALWAYS need shorts/pants in size L here. I shopped at Plato's closet about a couple of months ago and thought they had some cute things but overall I found their stuff to be very used and most clothes faded and generic. But I treat my clothes well and I have a lot of clothes are in style and lightly used some with tags on them still. So I was super excited to bring in my clothes to the store. I separated all my clothes into bags a folded them shirts, skirts, dresses, etc. so it would make it easy for them to go through. My mom and I got there 11/11 Saturday morning and I unloaded my car and waited for them to open the door at 10 am. When they opened she unlocked the door and I quickly asked if they were taking clothes and she said yes and walked away without holding the door open for me even though my hands were full. I was excited so I passed it off and walked up to the counter and told her I had a lot. She smiled complimented my clothes I had on and said it was fine. She said it would then take about a half hour to go through. I decided to look around with my mom. I kept checking to see if she was picking certain things and I had seen a small pile of my clothes she had set to the side. About ten minutes later I walked up with what I was planning on purchasing and asked about my stuff she replied that they couldn't take any of my clothes and they were only accepting embroidered shorts right now (in the winter?!) I didn't ask about the clothes I had seen her set aside because I assumed she put them back. One of the sweaters, I wanted to purchase was $16 but had a lot of snags and had a pink stain on it and was a Khols sweater. I asked them if they could give me a bit of a discount due to the damage (maybe they didn't see it when they put it in their inventory). She replied that they can't and gave some excuse. When I got home, however, I noticed all the items I saw her have set aside were missing! So I ended up taking what I had to Urban Exchange in Temecula and got $50. I would suggest them over Plato's closet. They always take something of mine and I always leave with a handful of things. I've been there several times and have seen the same stuff. If you feel you have too much then give away the stuff that isn't selling and get new inventory from the people who come in. TL:DR - Believe the store could benefit from better service. If you aren't really accepting clothes then say so or if you are only looking for certain things then say so. I still can't believe that they were that dishonest to take a couple of clothes and think that I wouldn't notice because I had so many. Sorry guys I pay attention. Me and my girlfriend went through my closet and filled up a trash bag and took them to this Plato's to sell. The girl said that the wait was about 25 minutes, which was fine but that "25 minutes" turned into 45. So we went back in to check on them and the employees looked like they were just standing around and they said that they hadn't even started going through my stuff. So then we had to wait longer and our "25 minute" wait was an hour and 15 minute wait instead. I made this Yelp account this morning just so I could complain about this store.
