What an incredible, large space! So large. I came here for the first time today for their Christkindlmarkt, Saturday, 11/29/25. I am accustomed to New York City high prices living in the city and living here my entire life. Oh boy were the prices for everything astronomical. We ordered two small soups each $12 each outside. The hot chocolate bar was cute but for $5 per cup, to have something that tasted like a watered down Swiss miss was not fair. I find that the Bryant Park holiday shops are more affordable than what was being offered here today. I don't mind spending the money but it felt greedy. I likely would have purchased more if the cost was slightly lower. Thin white pretzels (advertised as a large pretzel) was $12-$13. I would like to say that we did not dine in the sit down restaurant and I would like to return when they do not have an event happening and I would of course update my review to reflect a dining in experience outside of a German Christmas market event. The cost for one raffle was $5 and for three for the tricky tray was $10. When I asked how it worked, the person could not explain to me the rules at all or how it was happening and the two other women just looked at me. No smiles. It was really depressing and off putting. I had even asked if they were doing a cash giveaway raffle and I was told no. After speaking to someone that didn't work there, she had said yes. I'm the type of person that would have likely bought $20 in raffles. Just couldn't help but feel from the people at the table that it was not going to be an honest draw (I said it!) The live music was a nice touch and we didn't come across a staff member while we were here that said hello or a thank you. It was nice to see families out and about purchasing from small businesses. A woman was selling a hat that I saw from a discount store that normally would cost 4.99 for $25. Just to give an idea. Transactions seemed to all be cash only. Just wanted to put that out there just in case anyone plans to go on the second day of this event on Sunday, 11/30/25. I think it's wonderful they hosted this event. I would like to leave my honest feedback for visitors.

This is a very cool place to hold an event. Other than the main hall, there are many other spaces to rent for special occasions. Yesterday, our friend had his surprise birthday party here and we got to enjoy what this place had to offer. The good was average, but the drinks and service were great. Beer hall part of the property we were in also looked amazing, If I ever need an event hall for a large gathering, I will certainly keep this place in mind.

Saturday night Memorial Day weekend, they had plenty of servers on staff. We never needed to wait at the bar. We tried to enter from the back lot but there was an unexpected cash only $8 cover for a band there that night. So we had to walk to the front and trade an ID to go use the cash machine. I digress. We decided to sit down and eat to get a glimpse of the full menu and it did not disappoint. Lots of options with some basics like chicken fingers and fries for the little ones. The restaurant is really like an extravagant old world bar. Lots of TV's around the bar to catch whatever game you want. Weird they didn't have drink menus available in hand, the bar tender said they are usually on one or two TVs. Peculiar. That night all the TVs were on the Yankee game. The lightning and wood work are also worth a mention. Even they outdoor seating is partially covered so even if it sprinkles you can still enjoy the band outside. And there was an abundance of picnic tables. This place is definitely a unique experience, make sure you walk around and take in all it has to offer before you decide where you are going to settle in. **they also had potato soup that was fab! Amongst the other appetizers pictured.

The table settings were beautiful and the chairs are so classy

I had my baby shower here and we had a great time. We had a brunch for ladies in the blue room and the men went to the newly renovated Hive restaurant. The blue room was perfect for baby boy baby shower. They have the doors in the back of the venue that led to the parking lot which made set up and break down so much easier. They charged me $51 per person for the brunch and $30 per bottle for the champagne. Please be aware they charge 25% service fee for the catering parties and all transactions. They also charge a 3.5% fee for using credit cards. I charged the champagne on a different tab and I was disappointed they charge me 25% service charge just for my champagne tab. However, the Platt is affordable for a major catering hall in nassau county area and beautiful inside. The men at the baby shower loved the Hive and they said the service was great. I think they even had more fun than the ladies lol. My maitree D Gabby was great and ran the party smoothly. Also, Donovan was great in assisting all of my questions and concerns for my event. Christian and Debbie were also very helpful when it came to booking and planning the event which made the party process smooth. The blue room is perfect for baby showers and it was spacious enough for all the decor including a bouncy house!

A massive area! Areas for everyone - groups, families, couples looking to chill at the bar. When we came on a Friday, there was a cover & a band. We came for a quick bite but easily could have stayed for awhile by the fires outside and relaxed.

It's unfortunate what has become of the food here. I have been coming to this restaurant for a very long time, and although it's been a while since my last visit, I expect the food to be good as it was the last time I visited. Alas, it was not to be. The Jaeger snitzel was tasteless, smothered in a mushroom sauce made of canned mushrooms and lacking all flavor. The beef roulade was no better than boiled beef devoid of any seasoning. The red cabbage was overcooked with no flavor other than vinegar. This place used to be the place for a great German meal, but it is no longer. Maybe it's still good as a Biergarten with live bands, but even the beer selection is limited, so I'm not too sure if one can say it's a great Biergarten. The food and the service of the past is no longer what is here.

Sauerbraten with spaetzle and red cabbage. Gravy was flavorful but the meat dry.

A lot going on here. There's a beer garden out back and inside a sweet 16 was happening next to the Hive Restaurant which is where we were. Bread they bring for the table was great as was the potato pancake and pretzel. Will come back and try the beer garden with love entertainment.

Does this restaurant offer a lot of vegetarian/ Vegan options?

    How's the sauerbraten?

    Excellent

    Is a reservation required?

The dining room is on the smaller side so I would recommend making a reservation to be on the safe side. For larger groups (more than four) it is a must.

We started off with appetizers- which are really great for sharing- perogies for the Hubby and I had the liver dumpling soup- both were fantastic. Hubby had the German mixed salad with his meal, the special was sausage with both chicken and pork Schnitzel and potatoes, I had the sauerbraten with potatoes and we both had a side of the sauerkraut. We took a To-Go of the stuffed chicken breast with mozzarella and spinach and soup, with broccoli and an order of perogies. 2 Root beers, and he had the apple strudel and I ordered the Bienenstich. Our server was Karen- I want to give a huge thank you to her, she was an absolute delight, sweet, friendly and made sure our dinner was perfect, she is wonderful and next time we come for dinner, we hope she is our waitress. Food was incredible, I have not had "family" style German food in probably 13 years if not longer- I used to eat all the time at Alpine Village in Torrance Ca and at Phoenix Club in Brea Ca- both I was a long time foodie at, and never had a bad meal! It is so great to know that Sebastian's is our new place for delicious German food. Dinner for the 3 was roughly $180.00, but before you say "that's a lot", the food is delicious, the wait staff is amazing and both my husband and I gladly pay good money for fantastic food, like what we had here at Sebastian's.

The people in the group are cool about me drinking coffee, OJ & Seltzer and N/A beers and I'm cool with the fact that they drink, overall they're a pretty good group of people. Last night Tom Perrone a member of 8OCS hosted his first ever vinyl night in Nassau County at Prost. Usually he hosts Vinyl nights in Patchogue at TwoMorrow's Pub. Sometimes he'll host other vinyl nights or afternoons at different locations. So my boyfriend and I were able to go. One of the good things I appreciate about Prost is that it's a bar/restaurant. So if there's something going on and I need to bring my son I'm safely able to do so. I wouldn't bring my 9 year old to just a bar but if it's a bar/restaurant there's nothing wrong with bringing him if I had to. We didn't get a chance to have any food, maybe one day on one of our future visits we will. I had an OJ & Seltzer and a Clausthaler N/A beer. My go to N/A beer for drinking at home has been Athletic Brewery N/A beer but I had a Clausthaler once before at the American Hotel Bar in Sayville and Clausthaler is a good flavorful N/A beer. My boyfriend chose to have a liter of Miller Lite I think. Hanging at Prost was a good time, one of the bars in Garden City that I would suggest checking out!

They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and serving up amazing meals at each. Choose from 5 different gravies and then your schnitzel. Traditionally served with pork or veal, but they do have chicken or eggplant as well! I went with the classic Weinershnitzel which is traditionally served with veal schnitzel and served with brown gravy. Lindsey got the Chicken Rahmschnitzel which is schnitzel topped with a creamy white reisling-infused mushroom gravy. Both were filled with flavor and we were very impressed! All schnitzel is served with spätzle, seasonal vegetables, and red cabbage. This was the definition of a comfort meal that. We started with their Bavarian Cheese Board, and classic German appetizers - potatoes pancakes paired with this insane apple butter, and potato dumplings with your choice of gravy. I had a group dinner here for my parents and my boyfriend's mother to meet for the first time. This is perhaps not the perfect location for this type of thing, as it was extremely loud in the restaurant. Despite being very busy, the hostess made sure we had a comfortable table to sit at and were not too cramped. As expected, the beer selection is great and I enjoyed my Berliner Weisse very much. I ordered the goulash and kasespaetzle. The goulash was rich, well seasoned and filling. The spaetzle was soft and creamy, covered in lots of flavorful aged cheese with salty bacon bits and sweet onion. A very rich dish. Although I didn't technically order an entree, I still found myself pleasantly full at the end of the meal. The rest of my dining companions ordered either the schnitzel or the wurstplatte.
