What an incredible, large space! So large. I came here for the first time today for their Christkindlmarkt, Saturday, 11/29/25. I am accustomed to New York City high prices living in the city and living here my entire life. Oh boy were the prices for everything astronomical. We ordered two small soups each $12 each outside. The hot chocolate bar was cute but for $5 per cup, to have something that tasted like a watered down Swiss miss was not fair. I find that the Bryant Park holiday shops are more affordable than what was being offered here today. I don't mind spending the money but it felt greedy. I likely would have purchased more if the cost was slightly lower. Thin white pretzels (advertised as a large pretzel) was $12-$13. I would like to say that we did not dine in the sit down restaurant and I would like to return when they do not have an event happening and I would of course update my review to reflect a dining in experience outside of a German Christmas market event. The cost for one raffle was $5 and for three for the tricky tray was $10. When I asked how it worked, the person could not explain to me the rules at all or how it was happening and the two other women just looked at me. No smiles. It was really depressing and off putting. I had even asked if they were doing a cash giveaway raffle and I was told no. After speaking to someone that didn't work there, she had said yes. I'm the type of person that would have likely bought $20 in raffles. Just couldn't help but feel from the people at the table that it was not going to be an honest draw (I said it!) The live music was a nice touch and we didn't come across a staff member while we were here that said hello or a thank you. It was nice to see families out and about purchasing from small businesses. A woman was selling a hat that I saw from a discount store that normally would cost 4.99 for $25. Just to give an idea. Transactions seemed to all be cash only. Just wanted to put that out there just in case anyone plans to go on the second day of this event on Sunday, 11/30/25. I think it's wonderful they hosted this event. I would like to leave my honest feedback for visitors.

This is a very cool place to hold an event. Other than the main hall, there are many other spaces to rent for special occasions. Yesterday, our friend had his surprise birthday party here and we got to enjoy what this place had to offer. The good was average, but the drinks and service were great. Beer hall part of the property we were in also looked amazing, If I ever need an event hall for a large gathering, I will certainly keep this place in mind.

Saturday night Memorial Day weekend, they had plenty of servers on staff. We never needed to wait at the bar. We tried to enter from the back lot but there was an unexpected cash only $8 cover for a band there that night. So we had to walk to the front and trade an ID to go use the cash machine. I digress. We decided to sit down and eat to get a glimpse of the full menu and it did not disappoint. Lots of options with some basics like chicken fingers and fries for the little ones. The restaurant is really like an extravagant old world bar. Lots of TV's around the bar to catch whatever game you want. Weird they didn't have drink menus available in hand, the bar tender said they are usually on one or two TVs. Peculiar. That night all the TVs were on the Yankee game. The lightning and wood work are also worth a mention. Even they outdoor seating is partially covered so even if it sprinkles you can still enjoy the band outside. And there was an abundance of picnic tables. This place is definitely a unique experience, make sure you walk around and take in all it has to offer before you decide where you are going to settle in. **they also had potato soup that was fab! Amongst the other appetizers pictured.

The table settings were beautiful and the chairs are so classy

I had my baby shower here and we had a great time. We had a brunch for ladies in the blue room and the men went to the newly renovated Hive restaurant. The blue room was perfect for baby boy baby shower. They have the doors in the back of the venue that led to the parking lot which made set up and break down so much easier. They charged me $51 per person for the brunch and $30 per bottle for the champagne. Please be aware they charge 25% service fee for the catering parties and all transactions. They also charge a 3.5% fee for using credit cards. I charged the champagne on a different tab and I was disappointed they charge me 25% service charge just for my champagne tab. However, the Platt is affordable for a major catering hall in nassau county area and beautiful inside. The men at the baby shower loved the Hive and they said the service was great. I think they even had more fun than the ladies lol. My maitree D Gabby was great and ran the party smoothly. Also, Donovan was great in assisting all of my questions and concerns for my event. Christian and Debbie were also very helpful when it came to booking and planning the event which made the party process smooth. The blue room is perfect for baby showers and it was spacious enough for all the decor including a bouncy house!

A massive area! Areas for everyone - groups, families, couples looking to chill at the bar. When we came on a Friday, there was a cover & a band. We came for a quick bite but easily could have stayed for awhile by the fires outside and relaxed.

It's unfortunate what has become of the food here. I have been coming to this restaurant for a very long time, and although it's been a while since my last visit, I expect the food to be good as it was the last time I visited. Alas, it was not to be. The Jaeger snitzel was tasteless, smothered in a mushroom sauce made of canned mushrooms and lacking all flavor. The beef roulade was no better than boiled beef devoid of any seasoning. The red cabbage was overcooked with no flavor other than vinegar. This place used to be the place for a great German meal, but it is no longer. Maybe it's still good as a Biergarten with live bands, but even the beer selection is limited, so I'm not too sure if one can say it's a great Biergarten. The food and the service of the past is no longer what is here.

Sauerbraten with spaetzle and red cabbage. Gravy was flavorful but the meat dry.

A lot going on here. There's a beer garden out back and inside a sweet 16 was happening next to the Hive Restaurant which is where we were. Bread they bring for the table was great as was the potato pancake and pretzel. Will come back and try the beer garden with love entertainment.

Does this restaurant offer a lot of vegetarian/ Vegan options?

    How's the sauerbraten?

    Excellent

    Is a reservation required?

The dining room is on the smaller side so I would recommend making a reservation to be on the safe side. For larger groups (more than four) it is a must.

Finding the huge parking lot in the back was very convenient but I should have walked to the front to avoid the stairs in the rear entrance. We made it inside to find that it greatly resembles a sports bar, with one hundred and one televisions plastered on the wall. Seriously, 100 televisions was enough, that one extra television was the one Domino that set everything in motion. I was so fascinated and trying to watch every television set in sequence. I needed a horses blinder in order to restrict my vision to focus on one televisions. Besides all of that, Trotters has a lively, upbeat atmosphere yet it did provide a touch of romance if you could focus. Santiago was our waiter. Very poised and possessing self-assuredness. Santiago provide exceptional customer service in all areas. His side kick assisted us as well with such professionalism. FOOD* Apps- spinach artichoke dip with corn chips. Blackened chicken platter w rice & broccoli. Chicken parmigiana penne. Lava cake Hot Tea The appetizer was very delicious and offered a desirable taste and the chips were not greasy. I received a generous portion of food that provide a meal for the next day. The blackened chicken was very good and tasty, if I would recommend a dish, this would be it. The broccoli was crisp with the rice as an excellent culinary paring.the lava cake was different. I was thinking it was going to be a hot lava cake but is was good regardless! The night was a good night and we really enjoyed this local treasure trove! Inspire more,Yelp more!

I would rate the food and experience a 7/10. One thing to note is that the restaurant has a 90-minute dining limit. Guests are expected to order everything upfront because once the time is up, you may not have the opportunity to order additional items, including dessert. This was my first time experiencing a time limit at a restaurant, so it felt a bit rushed at times. For appetizers, the Honey Garlic wings were very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Shrimp Tempura arrived extremely hot, which made it difficult to eat right away, but unfortunately it lacked a bit of seasoning and flavor. The Shrimp and Grits was definitely one of the standout dishes of the night. It arrived piping hot and full of flavor. I actually burned my mouth taking the first bite because it was served so fresh, but overall it was delicious. The Oxtail with Mac and Cheese was another enjoyable combination. The oxtail had a good traditional flavor, although it did not include beans. My only complaint was that the portion size felt small for the price. My husband ordered the steak and fries, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. As for drinks, the cocktails were overpriced, and surprisingly the mocktails felt even more expensive for what they offered. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try dessert. Once our dining time was up, our waitress brought the check without asking if we wanted dessert to-go. She appeared focused on assisting another table, so it gave the impression that once your time is over, it's time to leave. Overall, while there were a few dishes I truly enjoyed -- especially the Shrimp and Grits -- I personally would not return for dine-in considering the pricing and time restrictions. Spending over $300 for two people on fairly standard Caribbean/American dishes did not feel fully worth the experience. However, I would absolutely order the Shrimp and Grits again for takeout.

My server was Alba and it was her first week when I came (back in April ). If this was her first week, I couldn't tell. She was so professional, genuine and honestly just nice. She gave good recommendations and was sweet. Like I said we came at the tail end of happy hour and she kept coming back to make sure we got enough happy hour specials. Definitely a good server. Ask for We ended up catching the tail end of happy hour and were able to get some bites at a good price. The birria empanadas were pretty good and this is coming from someone who isn't a birria fan at all. The mango pineapple wings were very good and flavorful. But the other oxtails stole the show. They were so dang good! They had griot on the menu but it's only served on Wednesday. So I gave the manager Ken a hard time. Lol. He was a good sport. But let's also give credit to a manager who was making sure that alba was comfortable during her first week. Also, it was EXTREMELY busy and packed and he was walking around checking on the tables. My homegirl and I will be back!!!

Hubby had the German mixed salad with his meal, the special was sausage with both chicken and pork Schnitzel and potatoes, I had the sauerbraten with potatoes and we both had a side of the sauerkraut. Food was incredible, I have not had "family" style German food in probably 13 years if not longer- I used to eat all the time at Alpine Village in Torrance Ca and at Phoenix Club in Brea Ca- both I was a long time foodie at, and never had a bad meal! It is so great to know that Sebastian's is our new place for delicious German food. Dinner for the 3 was roughly $180.00, but before you say "that's a lot", the food is delicious, the wait staff is amazing and both my husband and I gladly pay good money for fantastic food, like what we had here at Sebastian's.
