This location is very convenient for me, and the whole staff have been impeccable with my Huxley. I credit playful pet resort for getting my puppy socialized properly. They have cameras, and they will occasionally send me pictures of Huxley playing. My dog loves coming here. I have also used their boarding services several times and everything has gone perfectly! We are new to Texas and I was trying out daycares PPR has been amazing with my girl Chacha! Chacha is a nervous girl and she loves to leave brown presents the entire crew has been so gracious and when chacha needed to be cleaned they did it and the other daycare let her sit in her poop all day! My dog LOVES this daycare. When I get to the corner of Luna Road and Valley View he is panting and whining to get inside and start having fun! That is one way I choose doggy daycare. He loves it because Jason and his crew love their pet customers. They are just the nicest people and Jason is knowledgeable and interested, genuinely there for pets and pet parents like me. We needed day care for the day while we were visiting in Dallas. We are in an RV and the 105+ degree temp made it unacceptably hot in the RV to leave them as we usually do. The owner was kind enough to work out an arrangement for us to keep the boys in a safe, cooler environment. When we go back to Dallas we will certainly use them again if needed. read more

Their location is convenient to 635/ I35/George Bush so it's easy to drop and pick up. Our dog Shep loves the team and his pet friends there. I debated writing a review and what I would say. On December 30th, I dropped off my completely healthy 15.5 year old shih tzu/bichon for a 5 day stay. While technically old, most people thought she was a puppy. She could move easily and had no signs of aging, other than skin tags and some missing teeth. My usual boarding place cancelled December 25th due to kennel cough going around. I mentioned this when I called Playful Pets for availability. They did not mention they were having similar problems, so I'm going to assume they did not at the time of my call and drop off. Very quickly after pickup, my dog was coughing and had loss of appetite. The vet states it progressed to pneumonia. She quickly went downhill and was put down exactly a week after picking her up. I notified Playful Pets and was glad they acknowledged my email by calling me. I try my best not to place blame, because things happen. I'd like to think if they noticed any signs of Kennel Cough, they were keeping the dogs separated from each other. My concern comes from the fact that a bed, that was not my pet's, was sent home with her. (My sister picked her up because my flight landed after closing time). When they called to offer their condolences, they also stated they had a dog for adoption if I'd like her. As though my dog was something that could just be replaced like a broken plate. I was speechless, and after much thought decided to write this review and say that I cannot recommend them for boarding. This was the first time I used them, and I paid about $100 more than my regular boarding place. When I think of the extra money spent, I think of premium service and that preventative measures would be a priority. But my dog's stay here led to her death, so I question the value of their services in relation to pricing. read more

We were looking for a place close to us to take our lab puppy to play, socialize and when needed to board. Playful Pet Resort was the first place I called, close to where we live (Farmers Branch), and reasonable rates. Jason, the owner, spent a good 30 minutes answering all my questions (first time doggie daycare Mom). I scheduled a free day for Nelson (our lab) and Playful Pet to see if it would work for both of us. Jason checked in with me to give me updates on how Nelson was doing and he has been going 2 days a week since. Nelson LOVES Playful Pet, has regular friends to play with and comes home happily exhausted. It has been the best thing for him. All of the staff are great and you can tell love what they do. The owner cares about all the fur babies. This is my third daycare. My baby would not interact or play at the other daycares. She loves this day care. I watch her on video when I am working, and she interacts and plays with many puppies. Jason made sure she had a buddy her first day and since then she has made a few friends. They really do a good job taking care of my baby and she is very happy there. The staff is incredible and they treat the fur babies so well. I am a big fan and so is my baby. Thank you Jason for taking pride in what you do and, providing a safe and secure environment for our babies to play. Groomers do a good job at bath time as well. This was the happiest and most comfortable experience I've had for my dog. They took into account of my dog's needs and have been completely accessible during his stay with them for an entire week. I selected Playful Pet Resort because my normal boarder was booked over the Labor Day weekend. I called and received a call back the next day and was instructed to go on line and create a profile. I completed the profile and called for further instructions. I was able to schedule and drop off my dog for the initial day camp evaluation. During my conversations with the same staff member I explained my dog has a collapsed trachea (which he has had for years) and that it presents when he is excited but the rumbling noise goes away once he is calm. When I picked him up from day camp the staff person and I discussed the collapsed again. I pointedly asked her if it was ok for me to bring him back for his weekend stay, to which she confirmed yes. I dropped my dog off Friday, September 2. Drop off was fine, when I walked in a different staff person appeared to be waiting as she greeted us and said "is this King" when we walked in. We talked about the collapsed trachea again and I gave instructions on his feeding and gave her his food. I also confirmed the time I would be there to pick him up on Monday morning. On Sunday, September 4 while out of town (out of the state), I receive a phone call from Jason. Once Jason confirms he is speaking to my dog's owner he immediately says to me "I'm trying to figure out why your dog is here, because we don't board injured dogs..." What? I am immediately concerned because when I dropped my dog off he was not injured. Jason then assures me that my dog is fine but he has a serious medical condition and he doesn't understand why I would leave him there and not at a vet. Jason is rude and treated me as though my actions where nefarious by leaving my dog at their business without disclosing my dog's "serious medical condition." When trying to speak with him and explain that I did in fact make multiple members of the staff aware of the collapsed trachea, he continued to cut me off and basically try to chastise me for leaving my dog there instead of a vet. Well, Jason...as I explained on the phone and you eventually received clarification from your wife...I did what your business required. While I appreciate your apology for your condescending and disrespectful attitude, the experience was so off-putting and unprofessional. I was hoping my encounter with you was an isolated incident but I can see by some of your responses to some of the not so good reviews, that this is common behavior for you and not an anomaly. Which is very unfortunate. I was initially very impressed with your business and was happy to leave King there and felt comfortable that he would be well taken care of. I was looking forward to meeting you in person and continuing our conversation when I arrived to get King since you assured me you would be there. I was disappointed, but not surprised that you were not there. As I explained to your wife, it wasn't your phone call that was a problem, but the way in which you handled the situation. I also confirmed with my vet they have no record of anyone speaking to you about King, as well as they would not release any medical history about any pets to anyone without the owner's authorization. Since you are a service provider, maybe this will be a great learning opportunity for you on customer service as your customer service is severely lacking. Your wife is amazing...maybe you should delegate customer facing tasks to her. Lastly, I want to very clear that I never threatened you, however you telling me the boarding world is small can be perceived as a threat by you. I'm sure you understand, that door swings both ways! I do not like leaving my pup, however I was going to be out of town and needed to find a facility where I can board her. It was a great first experience with Playful Pet Resort and I felt at ease knowing that she was in good hands and having fun as well! They would send pictures throughout the days and she looked like she was having a blast! Prior to me boarding her, they provided a free day care date so they can become familiar with her and to also see which size group she would work best with. She was super tired when I picked her up and I think I missed her more than she missed me.
