If I could rate this place a 0/5 I would. First time car buyer here. I did a lease buy out on November 3rd. I was convinced to buy an extended warranty, in which I thought would cover anything that went wrong with the car so I didn't even inquire about an inspection. November 4th at around 11:57 PM , the adaptive cruise control , collision mitigation , etc stops working. On November 5th , I take the car to the service department and was told that the radar on my car was miraculously not programmed anymore, which is not covered by the warranty I just purchased. The car also needs brakes, rotors, and rats apparently chewed the engine harness. How was this car safe for me to drive home with? A service worker at another Honda told me that the car was supposed to be certified and appraised before I was offered a loan. Therefore, all these issues should've been addressed prior. Now I'm stuck with a $184 diagnostic fee from plaza Honda service department and a car with a defective radar , engine harness , and brakes. I was going to purchase the new 2023 Honda Accord but I'm washing my hands with Honda. read more

Good points first: convenient online appointments, efficient and friendly intake, service well done, and a clean and comfortable waiting room. That last is important because you will be there a looooooooong time. Even simple service takes incredibly long, and (based on numerous visits) estimates on length of service are way short of fact, and communication on your status is awful: you really have to keep asking, and even then you can anticipate many "it'll be ready soon" responses, which turn out to have zero credibility. I've also had the experience of not being notified when my car was ready, and only found out by asking. If you live nearby and can drop the car off and leave I guess it's fine, but if you have to wait there, plan to spend the day. I won't mention that they once presented me with someone else's car that was the identical model and color of mine -- oops, I guess I mentioned it. I return because I like to have dealer service, but they sure don't make it easy. UPDATE: I received a followup phone call from Kenny at Plaza Honda, who listened courteously and patiently as I detailed my issues. I feel he truly heard me, and I believe my concerns will be communicated to appropriate management. I'm impressed and pleased at this level of concern with customer satisfaction. Went there with cash, no financing, and offered a price on line which was $500 lower than the asking. Arrived and the sharks started to circle, spoke with the manager and had found out the vehicle they were offering was in an accident and the price I offered was without this knowledge. Sat down with the very new salesman, nice guy, but very green. I said, having bought around 15 new cars in my lifetime, that I don't do the back and forth B.S. give me the lowest price out the door and we won't waste anyone's time. Telling them I know about the accident they actually lowered the $ another $500 for a $1000 off the asking. Here's the B.S., we agreed on a price of 12K and he is writing up the bill and he's adding $1679? I asked him for what. "It's for the Certified Pre-Owned" The add on line does not add the that $ in when they give you the price so they lure you in with the lower number. So the B.S. is they lowered the $ price $1000 but they're adding $1700 on the other end, classic bait and switch. I have a sister working for one of the largest auto dealers in the country so speaking with her she said "Certification" costs a dealer $350-$400 tops. That consists of an hourly employee putting it on a lift doing a circle jerk of the car, popping the hood, pulling any codes, 2 hours tops, and that is long. So the back and forth went on and I told them this is the price I'm willing to pay 14K out the door. They come back !4.5K have a nice day and the deal is gone for $500 and about an hour and a half of my life I'll never get back. UPSIDE: Saw a commercial for WWW.CARVANA.COM and figured I'd try it. Excellent layout, multiple cars, no dealer B.S.. Picked a car, transferred the funds and was able to snag a 2017, Plaza's car was a 2016, for the same $ with tax and the DMV fees included I was spending. Plaza's car was w/o the DMV fees. 7 day money back guarantee and free delivery to my door. No more dealers as this is the way to go. I give it 5 years and Plaza Auto Mall will be a row of $1 stores. When I first entered Plaza Honda, we were greeted with Vaneza who took us around to show my family and I the cars that they had in hand. I just want to compliment Vaneza on this because usually a sales person would directly bring you to their seat and try to sell you the product right off the bat. Instead, Vaneza listened to what we wanted, and suggested a few cars that fit with our description. She was also very honest about the colors and what models they had. Due to COVID-19, a lot of cars were delayed. If she did not understand a question or if she was unsure, she made sure to contact her manager for a more detailed answer. Afterwards, she brought us to her desk where she explained what needs to be done in order to find the perfect car for us. Unfortunately, we wanted the car as soon as possible and they did not have the color of the HRV that we were considering. But, I definitely recommend Vaneza as your sales person! Understandably, as a sales person, you would want to sell a car to each customer that comes across you. I took away one star because the manager was a little more pushy but he too was very understanding that we wanted a specific color/negotiate pricing. They even took the time to explain the pricing of the cars we were considering as well as what was included in that price. I guess I got lucky and had a great experience at Plaza Honda. read more

If I could give them 0 start, I would! Worse place to bring your car for service. People who are working here has no clue what they are doing & they are full of liars. I had to bring my car 3 times & they couldn't find the problem & keeping give me car back with same problem by saying, "Everything is fine". Asked for service manager, guy at the desk said he left for the day, which was a complete lie. When I walked out, I see service manager outside hanging out. When I finally reached out to service manager & told him I will address this issue to corporate office of Honda, they finally fixed the problem. Other problem with these managment, when you call to find out status of your car, they keep you on hold & keep transferring to diffrent person. At one point, one person said, we have no record of your vehice. Then when the car is ready, they never call you. One the day, when I got car back, car was all dirty from inside & outside. I should have trusted all the negative reviews here. I was so ready to purchase one specific car. I contacted them first to make sure that they had the right car in stock. Once we showed up, they tried to sell me another car. The fact was that the car I wanted wasn't there, but they kept deceiving me and even made me to get certificated check while they said the right car is being brought in. After several hours, they finally admitted that the car was not in stock. Again, they tried to persuade me to buy another car. This is their strategy to sell cars--by deceiving potential customers, by wasting customer's time in order to let them make rushed decisions, and by poor management. I dont usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled after my experience at Plaza. I took my car in for 2 recall repairs. I brought it in Thursday night to drop it off for a 7:30am Friday appointment. I was told the repairs should take a few hours. I also asked if they could take a look at the exhaust because I have an exhaust leak coming from somewhere. I was in no hurry to get it back, but by mid day Saturday, I gave the a call just to check on it. I was told that they could not find the service rep and that he would call me back. 3 hours later I call again only to get voicemail. I then wait until Sunday where I call again. No answer, just voicemail. So I call again Monday, get voicemail again and leave a message. Mid day Monday I still have not heard back. I call in, get bounced between 3 people who can tell me nothing about my car. Im told the rep will call me back later...so I wait. Finally I get a call back and he says all the work is done. I asked him what became of the exhaust leak? Im told that they could not find a leak. It CLEARLY has a leak. I used to work on Hondas and I'm pretty sure its just a gasket, but Im unsure which one. I figured they could do something so rudimentary, but that just sounds like laziness to me. I go to pick up my car, and get shifted through the same mess of people who know nothing about my car. They finally find the rep 25 minutes later, and Im given my keys. I get in my car and its like a tornado hit the inside. There is dirt and debris on my dashboard from where they removed it (airbag replacement). All the things I had plugged into the car were just thrown on the floor. The stuff in my glove compartment was tossed back in, and the best part, my pants are now soaked because someone must have left the window down during the rain storm the day before. When I came to pick up the car nothing was ready and I had to wait for 1 hour before I was able to see someone who know what he is doing (service). The car was not properly cleaned! I initially took my car to Plaza Honda for an oil change and regular maintenance. When I arrived, the person in the garage acted as if I was bothering him when I asked for assistance. When asked for his name, he ignored me and walked away. Then upon entering the office, because no one else offered any help whatsoever, not a single person working there acknowledged myself, or anyone else. They simply acted as if they couldn't see. I suggest you never patronize this business but instead take your car to get serviced at Bay Ridge Honda, if you can. They were courteous and kind and very speedy. Multiple people offered assistance, they kept me updated and informed as the work was being, they checked on my satisfaction throughout my appointment, and after! Do not waste your time going to Plaza Honda if you can help it because you'll surely be disappointed. I have no idea how the mechanics are over there, but the staff and the sales people, etc. need retraining. read more

Goodness gracious where do I start with this hot of a mess dealership. I called a few hours early to book an appointment with the dealership because I was unsure how this would work during the pandemic. The girl on the phone was nice and was courteous to reserve a 6pm time slot for me. She advised me to arrive early and go to the reception desk to check in. Duly noted! I arrived 15 minutes early, signed in, and was told that someone will be right with me. Walked around the showroom and looked around. Surprisingly there were no sticker label any where in any of the new cars. I find that kind of odd, however, I didn't think nothing of it. So I sat down in one of the chairs and looked around if any one noticed me. Not one soul made any contact with me for 45 minutes. It got to the point where I had to purposely make direct eye contact with the receptionist before she finally came over and gave me an update me on the salesman. Sounding quite unsure, she asked me, "Are you looking to buy a new or used car?" Now, I kid you not, I already explained to her that I had a 6pm appointment to look at used cars. She then guided me across the street and asked one of the sales associates to help me. I thought to myself, OK.... waited 45 minutes just to have someone take me across the street when I can do that myself. Ok whatever.... By this time, I was ready to leave but I sucked it up and gave them another try, hoping that the salesman would at least make up for the time lost. Wrong again! I mean the guy initially was nice but he didn't introduced himself to us, nor did he ask us if we wanted water. We just had a strange vibe that he was not interested in selling at all and wanted to go home by closing time. So we got to the car that we were looking for, he said it was a 2017 when it was really a 2018. He downplayed the fact that the car was reported to be in an accident. Overall he didn't get all the information ready before he showed us the car. I asked him whats the price on the car, he simply told me that "Oh the price you saw online is what it is". If you are a salesman, you should know this like the back of your hand. Long story short, we wanted to see if we can take a test drive. The salesman has the audacity to say that if we are serious of buying then we can make it happen. Seriously? At this point I was done. We waited for 45 minutes after our appointment time just to see a car for less than 5 minutes. Thanks Plaza Honda! I would rate this dealership a negative 10 if I could. The only reason why Plaza Honda got a 1 star from me is because of the air conditioning unit. It gets an A+ for working harder than anyone else in the building. read more

I feel like i have been SCAMMED. I got a brand new car and they claim the repair is not covered under warranty. I just got a brand new car, barely drove anywhere due to corona. Car was overheating and it was brand new. Likely missing Coolant. LIE #1 - First they told me they cant find the issue and car is fine. They said they drove around for 45 minutes and it was not overheating. So that cant be as it overheated every time since i got it. LIE# 2 - Then they told me there is a hold in the radiator and the warranty wont cover it. That cant be as its a brand new car that came that way Bottom Line Then i realized what was going on I picked up my car and will go to a legitimate dealer that is not looking to charge me for a warranted job. Icing on Cake When i returned home with my car, the AC which was fine all along and worked GREAT, is not not working at all. So I came in with a basic warranty issue for a new car, 4 days later (without a car) i get my car back same issue , Plus A NEW additional Issue compliments of PLAZA HONDA. Don't get SCAMMED, Stay AWAY!!! Go to a legitimate DEALER who wont look to damage your car so they can charge you more! You will only LOOSE going to them. I intend to post this everywhere and send to Attorney General Office as well as the BBB, Bureau of Automotive Repair at (800) 952-5210, Google, and others till someone lets them know that in 2020 they just cant SCAM anymore and get away with it. Worst dealership ever ! Came in on 8/24 at 5pm and the lady at the reception just didn't let us test drive a car. She sent us to the Kia showroom since we were looking for an alternate option. Came back at 6pm and she said they can't let us test drive a car since it was already too late (store closes at 7pm). Absolutely ridiculous! I was willing to pay 25k in cash for a car and they didn't let me test drive it. I just walked out saying I will go to another Honda showroom. Absolutely worst experience ever. Once this business takes your money, they don't want anything more to do with you. After spending $26K on a vehicle there in February 2020, when I recently called for help on an out-of-state title transfer from NY to PA, I got no help despite multiple calls. I wanted a notarized bill of sale from them, so I could declare the NY sales taxes I paid (and avoid paying sales tax all over again to PA). When I called the dealership, they just said "we don't do that" over and over again, and that was pretty much it. I even left a message offering to hire a mobile notary to visit the dealership, so they wouldn't have to worry about it, and I got zero response. If you love waiting around unnecessarily, then this is the place for you! I needed an oil change so when I first drove up, I was ignored, then I was told I need an appointment, then I was told to park across the street and talk to one of the people in customer service. Then another guy said I should leave my car where it was and walk into customer service. OKAY so, I got the oil change. I was waiting for an hour when I saw my car was pulled up to the front so I assumed they finished. Thinking someone was going to come and call me, I waited and waited. Well I was wrong! Then a woman came up to me asking the year of my car and if I wanted to trade it in for a 2022 model. I said no! I just want mine! I no longer saw my car around. After 50 minutes, I walked into the garage area searching for my car which was not in any of the ports. I walked into the customer service area, passing the other workers who sat idly by doing nothing. I saw that the guy who took care of me was not there and my bill as well as four other customers' bills were sitting on his desk. I asked one of the other representatives if the guy who took care of me was out to lunch. She replied, "yes", I'll take care of you. So basically, if I hadn't walked in to ask, they would have left me sitting there. My car was finished and they drove it to another lot to make room. They were making me wait until he came back from lunch to give me the paperwork so I could pay the cashier. I sat there for an EXTRA 50 minutes! This shows you the work ethic of this Honda Service. None of his coworkers were willing to pick up the slack while their coworker went out to lunch, but rather didn't give a damn that me and other customers were waiting around even though our cars were finished. They had no consideration for anyone's time, but their OWN! I would say they are inconsiderate, selfish, and LAZY! Totally Disgusting! Go to another Honda Service Center! read more

This was an incredibly disappointing experience. I've been looking for a very specific car (the Clarity PHEV) for the last few weeks. On Friday, I got a call from Plaza saying that they had a managers special going on, but I'd need to come in. I picked a time for Sunday, but wasn't going to be able to make it. I called back later and asked if I could come in to talk about a Clarity on Monday instead. I asked if they had any on the lot. The person on the phone (I think Frank?) said that there were none for sale on the lot, but there were some available for a test drive. If I was happy with it, I could pick a color and any additional options, then get it shipped to the dealer from the distribution center. Sounded reasonable enough. I scheduled a test drive for Monday. I was supposed to get a text message confirming my test drive but never did. This morning, having still not received any sort of confirmation, I called again to confirm my test drive. For the Clarity. At 1:30PM. I was told everything was set, and that I should come on in. I ask if they can pick me up since I don't currently have a car. No can do -- pandemic, you know. Great! Super simple. I get to the dealership just after 1:30 PM, having walked over 4 miles to get there to avoid using public transportation, leaving my wife and daughter at home. My wife has a screaming baby to deal with who won't nap, but at least I'll get to check out the car and hopefully make some progress. Plaza Honda was a catastrophe unto itself. When I booked my test drive, I'm led to believe that it's appointment only, which makes me assume that as I walk in, someone would be asking who I'm there to see and what I'm there for. Laughable. I'm left to wander the showroom for a good 10 minutes, trying to make eye contact with one of the salespeople to get this process started. Nothing. So I go up to the desk to say that I'm here for a Clarity test drive. Then the fun really starts. I speak to a very friendly salesperson, Saad, who lets me know that Honda has suspended production of the Clarity due to COVID, and that there have been no Claritys on the lot since early March at the latest. So the car. That I have specifically asked about. On 3 separate occasions. Has not even touched their showroom. Since February or March. This would have been really helpful information to know _before_ I left my wife and daughter at home on one of the few days off we all have, so that I can actually enjoy my day. Instead, I have to assume one of two things happened: (1) Some lazy, careless salesperson can't spend the 10 seconds to see if the car is available before straight up lying to me about if being available for a test drive. Bad show. (2) Some lying, dishonest salesperson knows that there are no Claritys available, but rather than being honest and letting me know in advance, figures they can get me to the showroom and then sneak me into something else. Somehow even worse than being lazy. Here's the thing. I did my research and I know the car I want. if it's not available, I'm out. So I leave. Pissed. I walked 8 miles for nothing and while my step count is rock solid, I could have done literally anything else with my day. If I do ever got a Honda Clarity, it won't be from Plaza. I spent a lot of time researching the car, but could have saved myself a whole lot of hassle if I'd researched the dealership too. One final note: if production of the Clarity is in fact suspended, then this isn't just Plaza's problem. This is Honda's problem. There is no indication anywhere that I could find that that's the case. Just...hugely disappointing. Reinforces the worst expectations about car dealerships. read more

Horrible service. Brought my vehicle in for a recall and to my headlamp replaced and oil changed. Set up appointment and arrived on time, 2:15pm. Had to wait in a long line for 20 minutes. They finally checked me in, and estimated about 2 hours. They told me they would call me when finished. I asked for a courtesy shuttle and they suggested I walk so I ended up taking a bus. 2 hours later No call back. I called them at 530pm to follow up on an ETA, they put me on hold and after 3 minutes hung up. At 6pm, I called for a shuttle, they said it would be less than 30 minutes. It is now 8pm, and I am just arriving back to the service department. I waited 2 hours for them to pick me up, no call about it being finished, and the service writers in the office are giving me horrible customer service talking about what their going to order amongst each other and the cashier lady rather than helping customers. Cmon #PlazaHonda #Brooklyn. You can do better. Your customer service and expectation setting is crap. The service guys are now saying "they gotta tighten up this ship " even they know they suck. 830pm and I'm still here..... car is on wait list for their valet to get it from their lot, still unsure how long it's going to take. read more

Called made an appointment told I would wait for my car only to find out when I got here that they didn't have the parts. Not only did I take a day off from work to have this done I have to come back, asked to speak to a manager and have yet to see one. I can't thank the guys at Plaza Honda and especially Alex enough on getting my car back on the road. Being nine months pregnant, the last thing I wanted was to be sitting at the dealership for any amount of time. Alex, one of the guys there attended to my concerns and handled the issues with my car. He made sure to reach out and keep me updated on the progress of my car and also encouraged me to use the courtesy car service since there were no loaner cars for me to use. Took about five days to get my car back and when I went to pick it up it was washed and I was greeted with lunch. Bought a new CR-V a few months ago. My review will just be a list of all the things that went wrong in the transaction: 1. I was told my CR-v was in stock at the location. It was not, and I ended up waiting over the weekend for the vehicle when I was promise it would be ready on a Friday. 2. While I was trying to figure out what was going on with my vehicle purchase (Which I had already paid a deposit on) I tried to call the salesperson who sold me the car. She would NOT answer her cell phone or her work line no matter how many times I called. 3. Instead, I tried to call the receptionist so I could talk to someone about what was going on. It took literally 10 calls to get someone to answer the phone. 4. I spoke to the sales manager and explained that not being able to talk to anyone regarding a $30,000 purchase is unprofessional. He was defensive, sounded annoyed, and offered little to no assistance. 5. I was purchasing this vehicle for my business: I don't think anyone at the location knew anything about how a vehicle purchase for a business works, as there were errors made in paperwork and financing that caused additional delays. I had to travel back and forth multiple times with new documentation about my ownership of my business because they were clueless. 6. Finally, I got to drive away with my vehicle, regretting ever having visited Plaza Honda. I was told that I would be contacted when my registration arrived. Of course, no one ever calls, the temp registration has expired, and I am at this moment sitting on hold while Plaza Honda tries to figure out where my registration is. Overall, a really embarrassing effort by Plaza. It was literally like they were selling their first car ever. If I was buying a pair of shoes for $100 then I wouldn't be so annoyed, but this is a $30,000 transaction and Plaza Honda showed themselves to be entirely incompetent. There are a lot of other Honda dealerships in the area, I recommend you go to any of the others. I am sure the management will reply to this review, like all of the other negative reviews, saying they are "concerned" but I have yet to see any changes in their business practices. read more

Finance manger sold me a lot of useless warranties on my lease that I didn't even want and told me first year of maintenance is on the house which is a blatant lie, he add a $1,000 maintenance plan which I didn't even use, also when I wanted to cancel the useless warranties, The finance manger claimed the bank wouldn't approve my leases if I didn't buy the warranties. Please --never use this car dealership if you do not have to. My husband came in knowing exactly what car I wanted---after an hour of speaking to him they told him they have none in stock. Then we went to pick up our order this past Sunday-We were trading in - and were not financing and it too 3HOURS!!! We still don't understand what took him so long. On the Way home we discovered that my BRAND NEW car had 175 miles on it and the name CESAR hooked up to the BlueTooth! Now I am trying to get my ezpass that I accidently left in my trade in back--I am on day 4 of phone calls, several hang ups and 20 minutes "waiting" to see if they can find the car and the ezpass. I recently purchased a new vehicle from this dealership. On the same day after purchasing I get a call from another salesman at this same dealership. They said they would give me an employee discount / factory rebate if I come into their dealership. This salesperson didn't know I had just purchased a vehicle from them. So I inquired more about this offer. Then I called the salesperson who assisted me with vehicle purchase to inquire about this offer and he told me he is not aware of it. I told the salesperson named Imran that I talked to Tony and he made me this offer. He told me he will ask Tony and call me back but I never heard back. I then checked with Bay Ridge Honda. They also have this offer and even give an employee discount certificate. They seem to be much nicer. Plaza Honda really needs a lot of work when it comes to efficiency. This isn't the first time I came here for service an had an issue. I made an appointment to get a routine oil change. Upon arrival there is a long line, which is natural when you go to get service at a dealership. I am a patient individual so it doesn't bother me to wait. When i get there they can't find my appointment so I am told I would have to leave my car. The rep was very helpful and asked if I had the email confirmation and he actually took the time to help me. After searching we were able to get me serviced he tells me go into the waiting area and it should only be an hour wait. After four hours of waiting I ask the representative to an update on the my vehicle. He than goes to check on my vehicle only to find out they haven't started service because they couldn't find my confirmation even though he wrote it on my ticket. The rep as helpful as he was dropped the ball because he had me waiting for four hours. After we find out why I waited so long he than tells me they won't start working on it because they didn't find the scheduled appointment. I feel like a manager could have made a call to help me out. They didn't even attempt to go above and beyond. They told me to leave and come back. After two more hours of waiting i call and they still didn't start service. I text the help line and they tell me my vehicle is ready. When I come to pick up my vehicle he asked if they called me yet. I thought he was on top of it clearly not. I also asked him to change the oil pan on the bottom and they never even looked at it Worst service ever my whole day was waisted. I can honestly say I'm never going back read more

Went to this place this past weekend to return a leased car and it was an absolutely nightmare. Music blasting so loud we had to scream over it for direction on who to speak with. We were then directed to the adjacent Kia dealership where they asked if we had an appointment. We were told by Plaza Honda we did not need an appointment and when trying to schedule anyway we were disconnected three times. A sales rep then continued to call and harass us leaving voicemails saying they'd buy the car for "top dollar". Back to the desk, the person there blew us off saying no one was available. We then asked when the next appointment was and they told us Monday. We decided to go with that date and I went outside to extend my insurance until then. When we went back inside the person changed her mind and told us that they actually didn't have an appointment for another week. At this point I was fed up and we left. Ended up returning the car 2 days later at another dealership. Do yourselves a favor and don't buy a car from these clowns. They don't care about you, you're just an open wallet to them. read more

It's been a few weeks since I brought my 2018 civic into service for a air conditioning problem. The vents were just blowing hot air with only 6k miles on the car. I spoke with Alex who was extremely helpful, he walked me through some of the known common problems with my car and explained I would need to leave my car for a few hours while they diagnosed everything, he called me about an hour before I was leaving work letting me know my vehicle was ready, then delivered my car back to me in a very professional manner.
