Our stay was okay. It was clean. Nice. Employees were good. Just tough when you have kids and they want to play in the pool but only 7 people are allowed in the area at one time. We only stayed over 1 night, but it was a very pleasant stay. The room was super quiet until the man next door got on his phone. It was after 11:00, so we called front desk. Security was at his room in about 3 minutes!! Then, we were awoken at 2:00am to screaming. It was his TV, so we had to call front desk again. It was taken care of immediately!! So, we got the needed sleep and quiet room! Breakfast buffet was quite nice, too. The pans are heavy and solid, so the food stays hot longer. Our server was sweet and we talked to her for a while. I booked a wedding block with Pleasanton Marriott for my wedding at Nella Terra Cellars, under the recommendation by Palmdale Estates, the catering company for my wedding. I do not recommend this hotel and additionally, I had the extreme displeasure of working with DON MARTINEZ, Senior Sales Manager. This guy does not understand good customer service and in my opinion, is a complete Jacka**. Let me tell you why. 1) First - A stranger was mysteriously able to open the door to the room for one of my guests in the middle of the night (2 females were staying in there). Luckily, they had the interior security lock in place so the stranger was not able to enter the room. The guests went downstairs to to speak with the front desk and were given a few breakfast vouchers. That is no where near sufficient. I spoke with Don Martinez regarding the matter and his explanation to me was "our staff conducted a room lock interrogation and found that the last entry into the room was performed by your guest." Of course it was, because the guests went back into the room after speaking with the front desk after speaking with the front desk. Amazing detective work. Don did not believe we deserved any compensation for the matter. Apparently the safety of their guests, and especially 2 girls in the middle of the night, is no big deal for Don and the Pleasanton Marriott. 2) The hotel provides a shuttle service for wedding blocks for drop offs and pickups from Nella Terra Cellars. 6 of my guests had signed up for a 11pm shuttle. They had waited at the pickup location at 10:45pm and waited until 11:30pm. No shuttle showed up. Don's explanation to me was "Please understand that while there is a sign up sheet for shuttle transportation in either direction; we do not check individual names as they board. The log indicated that a total of nine passengers were brought back during the 11:00pm shuttle run, which might have departed Nella Terra sometime between 10:50-11:00pm, to the hotel." To be clear, Don and his "log" is full of BS. I was there with the remaining guests, waiting for the 11pm shuttle at 10:45. There was no shuttle. It must have left earlier. What is the point of having a signup sheet if it will not be used as passengers board? What do you expect a guest to do if he/she signs up for an 11 PM shuttle and arrives at the pick-up location prior to 11 PM and there is no shuttle to take them back to the hotel? 3) Don felt the explanations validly addressed my concerns and did not feel i deserved any form of compensation. That was laughable and ludicrous. What a complete joke. He also wrote to me that he was sorry I felt these experiences "ruined" my stay (yes, HE put the quotations). The quotations were unnecessary and rude. My experience was downright ruined. If you are reading my review as a potential guest, I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere. Should you decide to host an event here, do yourself a favor and do NOT work with DON MARTINEZ. Nice clean and modern interior hotel. Room was comfortable and especially the bed. Check in was very quick and there was someone at the front doors greeting you and directing you to registration. A business associate was also was traveling with me and was equally as impressed. M Lounge is great if you qualify and as we got there a little later in the evening it was stocked with some light snacks and beverages. We did grab a beer in the bar area which had several tv's. Also ordered the chips and salads and fish tacos on our servers recommendation. Both were very good. Being a frequent traveler this Marriott delivered. read more

Wow! I think I would have been as comfortable in a shipping container with a cot! This seemed to me to be a bare bones business hotel. Everything is in tones of grey. The "restaurant" area looks like a bunch of tables set up in the check-in lobby. No ambience what so ever. We had to go back down to the lobby immediately after checking in because the "key" to our suite did not work. Once we got into our room we noticed more shades of grey. The TV was difficult to use. No instructions on how to use it.... no free movies. The coffee station was not completely stocked. You have to sign up for their app, or pay for internet service. It took two trips to the lobby to finally get hooked up to internet. The water pressure in the shower was very weak. Apparently there is a special club within the hotel where people can go and get coffee and who knows what else since we were told nothing about this... only that there is no coffee available until 7am when we saw other hotel guests walking around drinking coffee. The breakfast buffet was underwhelming. The best thing was the mixed granola and the sausage was okay. Eggs - bland... french toast about a quarter of an inch thick with no egg flavor - no sugar free syrup available - potatoes looked like they had been defrosted and thrown into a big pot.... AND when we got home, it looked as though we were being charged 50 dollars more than what we signed out for at check out. The bed was akin to sleeping on the floor - not comfy or cozy. We were in town for a funeral and would have hoped to at least had a good hotel experience.... we did not. read more

A very nice Marriott property, much smaller than other full service Marriott's, which gave it a small hotel feel. Check in was competent, smooth, and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable, with a nice work area. The concierge lounge was well equipped and the staff was very friendly. Aerobic workout area was spacious and clean. The free weight areas is closet sized which made it difficult for 2 people to work out at the same time. What really impressed me was how friendly the staff was. They were not just hello friendly but engaged you in conversation. I will definitely return to this hotel when my plans call for me to travel to this area. read more

Standard Marriott service and amenities that I've grown accustomed and have been forever spoiled (friendly service, soft beds, soft towels, large bathrooms, etc.) Plus, this particular Marriott has a good location that's nearby the mall, freeway and BART. Breakfast buffet was $15 for the continental and $20 for the full breakfast, which had an omelette station. Also, if you get the full breakfast buffet, it comes with waffles that make in the kitchen. However, I didn't see a lot of fruit and pastry selections. And last but not least, if you don't fancy the buffet, you can order other items from their menu. read more

I do have to say its clean and every person working that I've talked to is very nice. The bed was comfortable. But the reason for only 3 stars is because we normally stay at the Fremont Marriott which is amazingly great! The beds are even more comfortable rooms are quieter and the breakfast buffet is 10xs better. The housekeeping is SO loud here! I can't even begin to tell you how annoying it is to be relaxing (trying) and here they're banging and slamming nextdoor. It's also more than once in the morning. They came right when the people checked out to strip the bed. I only know because they leave the bedding in a huge pile in front of the door. Then they came back banging and slamming again around 11. The buffet seems to have day old stuff. Well at least compared to the Fremont one. No omelette bar. Very disappointed. Everything's outdated as far as the seating goes. We had 3 rooms in total, each were very clean and well kept. Samia (I believe) at the Front Desk was VERY accommodating on getting us 2 connecting rooms and dealing with our constant changing of plans while checking in (long story). Although many amenities like the pool and breakfast were unavailable we had a great time and I am sure would have an amazing time coming with all amenities available, which means WE WILL BE BACK. There were a few things that made this place a one star. 1. The smoke detector located facing the bed continuously flashes, and when requested for it to be checked, the front desk told us someone would be there. Nothing was done. NOTE: the reply from the business state their staff tried to do something, but they did not. They are misleading people by stating as it was addressed. Nothing was addressed. 2. Got a couple of buffet breakfast vouchers. Nice. When I was asking the person about just getting coffee to go, he got frustrated saying he needs to assign seats for us. Again, to go coffee, not even meals. I see a bunch of people getting coffee and walking out. Then two elderly white couple is seated right away. Potentially biased but I say the man who was in charge of the lounge can be. Racist. 3. This could be due to the type of people who were using the hotel. The sign specified a quiet time. The quiet time is between 10 PM and 8 AM. Away from babies crying which most parents do not have control; there were children yelling and running in the hallway and adults talking in front of the door to our hotel room well past 11 PM. read more

Beds were very soft, check in went smoothly. They quickly got me checked in and in my room. The Breakfast Buffet was around $20. No free coffee, but they will give you small bottles of water at the desk. The walls are very thin and you can hear the toilet flush in other rooms. Only issue was my room got rather warm during the nights. We had staff to come in and made some adjustment, but the room still became warm during the nights. But I like to sleep with the temp around 68 degrees. We had the room temp set to 61 and it was very warm. After informing the staff during check out they quickly made an adjustment to my charges. The staff was amazing Jade provided me with so many places to visit while in the city. She went above and beyond to help me find somewhere to eat and visit. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again. The hotel shuttle drivers were also amazing. read more

I like this hotel. The lady at the front desk checking us in (she had short hair) was awesome! So kind! This place is getting one star from me because of the woman in accounting. I am a very frustrated CUSTOMER, and I'm allowed to be frustrated in wondering why I'm being charged so much, and for her to tell me I need to watch my tone, oh hell no. Like I said, I'm allowed to be upset.... wouldn't you be upset if your account was charged twice.? Smh. I will never stay here again just because of her and I will make sure my family never hosts their events there ever again. I've stayed there twice now for weddings, and never again will you guys get business from me and my family. Thank you. While I typically like this hotel, however they don't know how to deal with guest disturbances. So if you need a good nights sleep or are an insomniac like myself, I would suggest another location. I don't like spending almost $200 a night to try and get a good nights sleep when the hotel staff will not deal with people rearranging furniture, being drunk and loud in the hallways and just being trashy guests. The day manager is far better today than the manager last night or yesterday. She appears to take concerns of crazy men who go to Fire stairwells to smoke and drink and smash glasses at night. I stayed at this hotel for about 5 weeks on business. Pros: - The staff in the concierge lounge (Michelle and Lek) are very sweet and go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant experience. - The concierge lounge is open for breakfast each morning and appetizers each night. I've been here twice for work. The parking lot is typically full; so you have to walk from the side of the building to the main lobby. The lobby is pretty and there is a large bar area with business men drinking it up. The restaurant is nice with seated dining. Every morning I have an egg white omelette - delicious! I haven't had other meals there yet. The front desk staff is really pleasant. We talked about bargain shopping. They are just so approachable and seem to really enjoy their job. They are professional and welcoming. The rooms are clean and nicely set up. Small empty fridge, coffee maker , desk, TV. I will continue to frequent this hotel when I come here for work. Disappointed in how we were greeted, promised a tub in a King room and there was no tub. If you want a tub, the only rooms that have them are with double beds which makes no sense and they tiny. The 2nd floor smells terrible of smoke. The AC/Heater in the room can not be shut off so it's either cold air of hot air that blows on you and it is very very loud making for a restless nights sleep. The bathroom light kept coming on in the middle of the night so we had to keep shutting it off. No food to be had! The coffee pot needs to be cleaned. The gardener was out at the pool blowing at 8am and after a restless nights sleep this did not make us happy. Not happy with our stay at all. I never write reviews, but felt compelled to do so. The pool area was nice but the pool needs cleaning. Oh and then we lost power, oh and you pay for WIFI. read more

I am a Marriott platinum girl myself, but if You don't care about points and alliances, stay anywhere else. Pluses: nice elite status member lounge with beverages and snacks well stocked, decent pool and jacuzzi, decent offerings of wine and beer at the bar and super nice bartenders, nice desk staff and walking distance to mall. The bad? Wayyyyy overpriced, rooms are hit/miss at best and rarely at an exceptionally clean level (spiders in my room past 3 stays), measly food offerings if you plan to eat in the common open area with hard to come by service, no restaurant on premises, everything locks down right at 10p including pool and jacuzzi and just the outdoor area in general, management not interested in giving a decent corporate rate for frequent stayers (I mean $259 a night for minimum 100 nights a year is NOT a good rate). Until this area builds more Marriott properties I am stuck here, but if you have choice - I'd say not. Ps sometimes this place can be $450 a night and yet it will feel and smell like a 70's Ramada so don't expect a JW atmosphere even though that's what it will cost you. read more

I'm a little torn as a write this review because I had a pretty decent experience, nothing too bad happened. First off, I have to give a shout out to the staff. Everyone I encountered was friendly and attentive. From checking in to room service, everyone was very pleasant. The downfall for me was the facility itself. For the price I paid I was expecting...a little bit more. I saw on-line and from reviews here that the WiFi would be an additional charge, this is something I can't wrap my head around. I'm a Marriott Rewards member so the WiFi ended up being "free" but I think for a "higher" end hotel something like that should be included. Now I might just be nit-picky as well but there were other things I wasn't a fan of. While the room did its job, I found it to be outdated and not up to par for the price. I also feel like whoever cleaned the room prior to me checking in did a rush job. It something as simple as not having a fan in the bathroom drove me crazy. I had to stay here because I was in town for a wedding and the bride wanted the bridal party to all stay in the same place but I would sadly not return. I may sound whiney but just seeing that WiFi was not included was enough to turn me off. I travel all the time and I've stayed at much better hotels for a fraction of the cost. I stayed at this hotel over the weekend for a wedding. The decor was contemporary modern, it was nice considering it was a Marriott. The room was a decent size and nicely decorated. However, if you want anything passed 11pm, you have to look elsewhere. The bar, room service, and pretty much everything there is closed early. For the wedding party, the bride and groom had it in her contract when booking this hotel that the bar would stay open til 2am. But when the wedding was over and we were heading to the hotel bar by the time we got there they were about to close the bar. Since we didn't know that the bride had a contract to keep it open and no one at the hotel decided to tell the bartender, the bartender said he would keep it open for $200. So we paid it not knowing and once the bride came down it was on. She was pissed and at the miscommunication with the hotel staff and the bartender wouldn't give us the money back. After huge debate, we got the bar to stay open but we could only pay with cash. On top of all that, I was overcharged for the room and when we had brunch at the buffet the server overcharged us as well. I'm not sure what was going on with this place and their greedy employees. But all this left such a bad taste in my mouth, I will never stay here again on principle. read more

I reserved a room on Marriott's own website with my old Starwood rewards number and was offered a room with M Club lounge access for the same price as a room without. Free snacks, soda, coffee and water all day and night and one of the best breakfast spreads I have ever seen in a concierge lounge. Apparently they offer hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon but I checked in too late to take advantage of that offering. The room was a typical Marriott hotel room, nothing overly exciting, but clean, comfortable and cozy. I could hear every move the gentleman in the adjoining room made and I'm sure he could hear me too but that was the only negative about the whole experience. Check in was a breeze and the woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful as could be. They charge a refundable $50 security/incident deposit on your credit/debit card upon check in which on par or fairly low compared to similar hotels and mine was refunded within a day and a half. The hotel is located across the street from a shopping mall which is convenient for a myriad of reasons and walking distance to BART but in general the area is not pedestrian friendly so I'd recommend renting a car if staying here if you have the means. read more

I called to confirm my reservation, and the front desk staff told me that she cannot confirm my reservation because I booked thru Hotels.com. I told her that I always call the hotel itself to confirm my reservations. She told me she couldn't help me. This is disappointing because when I called that hotel a week ago to confirm my reservation, I was told by the gentleman on the phone that they can only confirm my reservation once its within 10 days of my arrival. So, I waited, and then this. I have tried several times to call Hotels.com, but have been unsuccessful to connect to a living person. So, I have no choice but to cancel my reservation, and find a hotel. Its a good thing I did not wait until the last minute to call Marriott, or it would have been ugly. We made reservations over 2 months in advance for our stay in July for 2 double beds as we had 2 children and 2 adults. When we arrived, they told us they had no double beds left, they had given them away already and our only option was a King bed. We tried to find another hotel immediately, but all double beds in the area were already reserved as there was a big soccer tournament this specific weekend. We had no other option than to stay and accept the King room and we requested two rollaway beds for the kids. Because of fire restrictions, which I understand, they could not give us two rollaways, so we had to go to Target and buy an inflatable bed and sleep on the floor. I phoned guest services and requested additional blankets, as they only provided sheets on the rollaway and since we were getting a blow-up we needed another blanket. Over an hour went by and no blankets. It was after 9 pm and we wanted to go to bed after a long day of travel, so I called back downstairs and the gal who answered informed me they are out of blankets. So no phone call to us to inform us of this?!!! I went downstairs to speak to the manager and told him this is the first time ever in my years of travel that I didn't get a room I specifically requested. He said there are not guarantees when you make a reservation and pretty much had a "too bad" attitude. I told him we were suppose to get blankets and were never informed they were out. Had I known, I would have bought something at Target when I bought the blow-up. I've never seen a professional in the hotel industry so unsympathetic and non-caring. Very poor management. My husband stays at Marriott for work and is a high level card holder, but apparently that makes no difference, we are just another guest. So we are stuck all weekend in a cramped room with a rollaway and blowup mattress on the floor. The room itself was clean. The bathroom did not have a fan and fogged/steamed the mirror up after a shower and we had to wait to get ready any further. I can't believe a bathroom wouldn't have a fan or vent? That was a first for me. We travel to the area annually, and this will be the last time we stay at Marriott Pleasanton. So let this be a warning if you are planning on staying here - there are "no guarantees" according to their manager that you'll get what you ask for - its a crapshoot getting the room you request. read more

The first impressions of this hotel were very good. Checking in was a breeze. The "agent in training" was very pleasant, and she even offered bottles of water before showing my friend and I were the elevators were. The room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The lobby looks very nice, and even though the bar couldn't make a Bloody Mary because they were out of mix, they did make one hell of a White Russian. One negative about this hotel is they do not have free Wi-Fi. Like other hotels have, I think there should be an option for free internet service, plus upgrades if you want a faster connection. To not offer Wi-Fi, especially with the rates you already pay is not cool. There was also some miscommunication about the incidental deposit you give when checking in. My friend and I were not aware that instead of keeping your card on file for incidentals they actually just go ahead and charge $50.00 a night, and in the end you get it back. That would have been fine and dandy, if we were notified of that. The management did profusely apologize for the confusion, and even though they couldn't put the money back on the card they did offer compensation in other ways. Even though it's a great looking hotel with very friendly staff I just can't see myself staying here again. read more

They knew I was getting married because I checked in with cultural garb on. Check in was pretty painless. I should have checked beforehand, but they don't have any suites in this hotel. All rooms are the same. I would have thought they knew that post wedding parties can get a bit rowdy. Why not stick some of my friends near me so we could block off a section and not bother anyone? Getting 1 star for treating us like hoodlums. We were pretty loud after the wedding and got a call from the front desk to settle down. Security guard came and said we had to break it up. I didn't have an issue with this since we were loud. We broke it up as soon as he arrived. It wasn't like we disregarded his presence. What really irked me is that some of my buddies went to their room and the security guard followed them all the way to the other room thinking we could cause trouble. He even threatened to call the police. Without them doing anything wrong or making noise or having any complaints because they were in the room for maybe 5 minutes, the guard decides it'll be best to call the front desk and tell them to give us a final warning because we were loud and there were complaints from other rooms. What complaints? They just got in the room. Thanks for lying and making trouble for my friends. My friends had to clear it up with the front desk and they apologized but it shouldn't have gone to that in the first place. Thanks for treating us with no respect. read more

The morning of check out I got my bill, and they tack on smoking fees ( I don't even smoke) the fire alarm went off in my room at 2:30am while I was sleeping and they didn't apologize... dog fees ( my dog was at my sister's house for that weekend) I had the bride's dog in my room so she could change into her wedding dress, just in case the dog doesn't jump on her dress. When I talked to them that morning I asked to see the Pet policy, and they showed me "Pet Policy contact Hotel" I asked where does it say I can't have a dog in my room for 5-15 minutes. So I booked this hotel from Nov-25 to Nov-28 in 2013 for four days on my work/leisure travels to California. - Hotel staff at reception is so cold and needs to be taught how to smile at guests. - I used Priceline to book it where in it was not mentioned that wifi is not free in hotel rooms. You have to pay $10 or $17 for a day depending on what kind of wifi you need. It's a total rip off, why these big hotels assume all the travelers are being reimbursed by their companies for these basic amenities. Charging for internet looks so cheap mentality to me. It's a basic amenity all business provide these days. - The walls in this hotel are paper thin, too bad my neighbor in the room besides mine is ultra loud. I asked them to change my room. Kind of a disappointment after paying such a heavy price for a day's stay and then all these factors make my stay unpleasant. read more

This Marriott location is perfectly located and accessible to all major highways and a mile from the nearest BART station. The room was very comfortable, very clean, and the service was great. First, any full service Marriott that doesn't get 4 stars is a failure. I've been staying at Marriott's across the world since 2001, and I average 15-20 nights a year. This was a one night stay, since I had a company dinner to attend, didn't feel like driving home after. First, check-in. Three people behind the counter, all with nothing to do, yet it still took 5 min for them to acknowledge I was standing there, with two bags, obviously ready to check-in. Once they did help me, they conveniently forgot where to send me. I'd never been to this hotel before and had NO idea where they had hidden the elevators. Didn't see any signs either. Finally I got the desk person to point me in the right direction. Pathetic! The room? Tacky rug....but the rest of the room was nice as expected. Heater worked great in the room, bathroom was clean. Bed was very comfy, and if this review was just about that, it would be 5 stars. Of course, I had requested a room AWAY FROM the Ice/Vending and where was I? RIGHT NEXT to it. Again, staff was PATHETIC! There was a nice 32 in LCD HDTV. Of course, they forgot to get any HD feeds for it, so regular TV on a HDTV looks really BAD. I didn't try the "bar" or room service. Plenty of "out of the way" parking. Design of the hotel was dumb, I'd have put the entrance in the front, not on the side. Anyways, if you just want a good night's sleep, you can get that elsewhere. You stay at a Marriott for the service and amenties, which I didn't get. Good thing it was a reasonable rate. I probably won't be back. read more

(Just based on lobby and bar area) Had to hang out here for a few hours while my man was at a conference... From the outside I didn't think that I would be impressed with the hotel but the inside was really nice! They have a large open lobby area which looks like it was recently been remodeled. It has a modern feel. I was able to spread out on a big table, sit in a comfy chair, and enjoy their free wireless. As a platinum elite member with Marriott, I can assure you that the customer service at this hotel is some of the worst. I had a late night at work in the bay area, and booked my room here at around 11pm on a Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, when I went to check in, they told me they only had one room left that was filled with smoke. As I went to book another room on my app, of course, Pleasanton Marriott showed up as an option (what happened to only one room left?). The front desk was very non responsive to this and told me in a condescending way that I would need to book a room elsewhere. Bottom line, if you want to stay at a hotel that has rooms filled with cigarette smoke, and deal with employees that treat you like you aren't good enough for their low end property, stay here. read more

Oddly, the halls always smell like cigarettes. Yes they've remodeled but it still lingers. No matter what floor it is. I've stayed here a few times and have always gotten a room facing away from 580. Definitely the thing to do! Way comfortable bed and pillows. Wifi is fine but the ethernet cables suck. They are always busted so you can never get a reliable connection. Bathrooms and showers are quite nice. Marriott generally has the best little shampoos, soap, etc. And the thick washcloths are definitely ... collectible :-) Why just two stars? The weird hallway smell, the location is way up in the northwest corner of town. The Gideon Bibles are fine, but there's a Book of Mormon in the same drawer. Actually I found this to be a very nice hotel for the dollar. I stay here before parting from San Francisco in the morning. The lobby is spacious and done in kind of a California Art Deco motif, spacious with various enclaves for a converstation. There is a bar area and the bartender is courteous and is no piker when it comes to pouring a nice stiff cocktail. I had a couple of Gin and Tonics and I was feeling pretty good afterwards. Rooms were older but well maintained. Pool area is large. A good outdoor pool isn't all that easy to find and this place really has a nice one. Another surprise is that I was able to open the window and let that California breeze blow through the room. All this for about 100 bucks, pretty good rate for this level of hotel. Only negative I have is that they charge you $12,95 for wifi.....you scoundrels! read more

We booked over 20 rooms at this hotel for our wedding party and guests. We were gettting married elsewhere, but the staff at the Marriot made it absolutely a breeze to set up things like welcome bags and they even printed out flyers for the shuttle times to and from the wedding site. Everyone we worked with a pleasure and they made it so easy to book everything and we all enjoyed our time here. the bed were comfortable, the rooms were nice, and the drinks at the bar were wonderful!!! Nice place for our monthly networking meeting. We all have the buffet breakfast and the service is great. The food is decent and I always have some lox and bacon. I live locally so I didn't stay here but only go to the restaurant and bar area which is classy. read more
