This is my go to Chinese restaurant to order from on DoorDash. The food is always prepared quickly and very good!

Whoever packs the orders for Uber eats needs to be fired, I ordered spicy garlic pork and was forcibly turned vegetarian, there was literally only 7 skimpy pieces of beef in my food, everything else was ridiculous amounts of bell peppers and mushrooms, which would've been a great vegetarian option if it wasn't for the fact that I ordered the spicy garlic PORK. This is just cheap and insulting. Never ordering again. read more

I had no idea I could find something so good, near Albany Park no less. Ordered a large Schezuan Beef, the Ma Po Tofu, Lemon Chicken online. And in about an hour (if you look outside, you couldn't blame them; winter blows), up comes the delivery man. My gf gives him a smile, and you know what he does? Gives her a thumbs up. :lol: It's already looking good. We take out the food, and sweet jebus. More boxes and containers than we can count. Beyond what we had ordered, Plenty had provided us with extra rice as well as a free serving of what appears to be General Tsao's Chicken. First time in quite a bit, where I actually need to take out a bowl to handle the orgy of delicious foods. Start up a movie (Quarantine... interesting), start chompin' down. My mouth - explodes. I look to my right, and my girl's eyes gaze into the distance beyond our flat screen. It was that good. I've had Schezuan, in bloody Schezuan. So my expectations are always high, even if it ruins things for me. It's a subconscious thing, I can't help it. But it hasn't been since Double Li all the way in Chinatown, that I enjoyed something ever so good. After I ate, I looked at the kitchen table where the containers of delicious food remained. We dented it like an ant picks away at some dead moth on the ground. Great food by all means, prompt delivery, and amazing prices considering the amount served. It's disgusting to me that people can rate this restaurant one star for Uber eats delivering their food too late or for not getting enough fortune cookies. I have gotten food from here many times, and it is my go-to restaurant for Chinese food. The portions and prices are great, and, the food is tasty and exactly what should be expected from a neighborhood Chinese restaurant. I have recommended them to many of my friends, all of whom had positive things to say, and are now regulars themselves. Plenty will always be my go-to. read more

This place was decent. Hole in the wall for sure. I'm saying 4 instead of 3 stars because the egg roll I had for lunch was so good I'm still craving it. The fried rice was pretty good too. It's how I remember fried rice as a kid, super brown with lots of bean sprouts. I got the mapo tofu. No one will ever do it like mission Chinese but this was better than others I've had in the city. I have been going here for several years but not anymore. I didn't have dinner yesterday because of them. And they didn't even care. I ordered at 6:30 chicken with cashew nut dinner. At 7:30 tofu (yuck!)with cashew nut was delivered. I called and asked them to deliver the chicken with cashew nut as soon as humanly possible. I'm only a few blocks from them. And they tried to charge me a delivery fee for this! After they screwed up my dinner order! They also didn't apologize and didn't even offer to take a few bucks off the dinner even though at this point I had been waiting for well over an hour. So at 8:30 my doorbell rings and it is a psycho pathic man with my chicken with cashew nut. He had almost just run over two bicyclists with his car and they were at my front door screaming at him. Then he just started screaming all kinds of profanities and went back to his car with my dinner! So no dinner and a tremendous amount of aggravation. The food is good here but it's just not worth all the extremely poor customer service. They don't care about their customers and they clearly do not screen people when they hire them. I ordered from Plenty of Chinese for the first time today and was greatly disappointed in the taste an quality of the food. The Wonton soup was bland and the noodles were doughy. The eggrolls were greasy and the content was unidentifiable. The Crab Rangoon, taste like it was imitation crab meat mixed with cottage cheese and cream cheese... considering it was fried the consistency was one I couldn't swallow. The food was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. would not try again or recommend. Plenty, you're great!! I ordered for the third time and I feel like my experiences are only getting better. The food has its own unique style. Familiar but original takes on common American Chinese food. Take the sesame chicken - as another reviewer noted, it is special, you can really taste the fresh sesame oil, the right amount of wine vinegar, a hint of heat. Ordered the dinner special the other night an hour before they closed. Very fresh. Soft shrimp friend rice - at no extra charge for the shrimp! Egg roll is good, slightly peanut buttery - still, no egg rolls compare to those at Sun Wah :) I also like Family House's egg rolls over Plenty's. The crab rangoons, while good, have twice tasted a little toooo much like a deep fryer, like maybe the oil was pushing too told by the end of the night. Cheap side of lo mein noodles is nice. Potstickers are either steamed or fried dumplings, I like how plump they are but largely doughy and not much filling. Main dude who's there on Wednesday nights is super friendly! Pleasant service. I ordered them tonight through door dash. Really good stuff. Egg drop soup was amazing. I think I had BBQ pork low mein, really good. The highlight of the meal was their chicken fingers. It's basically chicken strips dipped in tempura and fried. They were super crispy and soft tender chicken on the inside. ONLY downside is that they didn't come with a dipping sauce. I can tell you why this place doesn't have a better rating- Americans are oddly picky about their American Chinese. Yes that's right fellow traveler, Sesame Chicken was invented in New York and Orange Chicken is from Hawaii, so it's amazing that most places have similar dishes to begin with. The food here is often quite different from the norm, but it's been consistently good. Highly recommended. The sesame chicken is in a thick, rich sauce. I love to order it with some extra egg rolls to sop up the extra sauce. The General's Chicken (or tofu...) is an interesting dish with mixed vegetables and your choice of protein, nothing like most other places. But it's amazing. I'd say definitely order a couple different menu items to try around because the dishes could be different from what you're served at other places. Highlights include the overstuffed crab rangoon, the egg roll with peanut butter flavoring making it very rich, and the sesame chicken in its thick broth. Really good, unique stuff. It's still cheap Chinese takeout, it still "fake" American food, but it's good. read more

I will NEVER order from this place again. Order was delivered 20 minutes late and food was horrible. Let me break it down for you: Egg Rolls - Extremely greasy and overcooked. Filled with tasteless cabbage and no meat. Only good thing about them was that they were free so throwing them away was no big deal. Salt & Pepper Chicken - The entree was hot but hello grease. The breading was so saturated with grease it was gelatinous and soggy. It was as if the chunks of tasteless chicken was surrounded by a snot rocket. No salt, some pepper but no taste. I ordered my food at 5:27 pm on a Thursday and at time of writing it is 8:15 pm and I am still waiting. I have called multiple times over the second hour and got a different story each time: 1. I just checked and your driver is on his way. 2. Your driver is sorry that he is running late. 3. We don't have any record of your order. 4. I don't know which driver has your order. Now they ignore my calls and they go straight to voicemail. Thankfully grubhub customer service was extremely nice and helpful, unfortunately it looks like I won't get to eat before playing hockey tonight. It was open on a Monday night and it was edible. But that's about all the enthusiasm I can muster for Plenty. I am in the process of packing and moving and Plenty was convenient (and open) so I placed a takeout order for me and my trusty helper (my mom). It was ready in ten minutes, so that's a good thing; everything was nicely packaged and hot, and they were friendly. Too bad the food was rather mediocre. We ordered chicken with broccoli and baby corn, spicy garlic beef and vegetable fried rice. The chicken with broccoli literally had no flavor and there was barely more than two pieces of baby corn (this actually ended up being a good thing as I hate baby corn, but they don't have just chicken with broccoli on the menu so I figured I'd just pick it out), so if you like a lot of baby corn, you will be disappointed. I had to douse it in soy sauce to give it some taste. The spicy beef was actually more sweet than spicy and had no discernible garlic flavor at all, which is kind of expected considering "garlic" is in the description. It also had some weird filler vegetables in it as well as canned mushrooms. How hard is it to use fresh mushrooms? The vegetable fried rice ended up being the best thing we ordered, which isn't saying much. It had scant pieces of broccoli and not much else in the way of vegetables. Again, little flavor. Of course I compare every Chinese restaurant to Yu's, which is probably not fair, but Plenty was plenty unremarkable. You'd do well to skip it; you can do much better. read more

Nursing a massive Yelpoween hangover, I somehow managed to pick up my phone and place a delvery order for my first (and only) meal of the day at 8 pm. I needed salt... and grease... and sugar... basically, a humongous pile of food! 20 minutes later, I got my big bag of prizes. The presentation of the food was fab, probably the best packaged Chinese delivery I've ever seen. And what a huge order of crab rangoon (6)-- seriously, crab rangoon is something I will NEVER tire of, that is how deep my loyalties run. If I had to grade this rangoon I'd dole out a B rating. The filling, I liked, but the wonton was overfried and more chewy than crispy. Feature presentation: the General Tso's chicken. Hmm. A bit too bland, I like my General's sauce thicker and tangier, with more heft to the spice. I usually save what I can't eat for the next day but wasn't motivated to do so. Oh and dessert? An order of fortune cookies. I've never met a fortune cookie I didn't like but the overpowering orange flavoring of these didn't do it for me. Overall, reasonably priced with reliable delivery. After calling on 3 separate occasions for a carry out order, I was finally successful in getting a "live" person who answered "hello." No, Hello, this Plenty, but just "Hello" as if she were answering her home phone? This rude woman took my order, didn't care to get my name, number, nor inform me how long it would take. Okay, whatever? Fifteen minutes later I arrived. The woman, who I assume was one of the owners, {blank stare on face} possessed a perplexed / disgruntled look, and asked what she could do for me. I informed her my name (once again, look of confusion), so I reminded her of my order. She rudely informed me, "It be 2 minutes!" Okay, fine, no problem, right? It's apparent she never placed my order until I walked in. BTW, this is why I refuse to ever go back to Tom Lee, (Western Ave.) because they practice this bullshit---"We place you order upon walking in---HaHa!?!?" Yeah, funny shit - laughing my ass off! Back to Plenty o' waiting---another 20 minutes later, after watching delivery boys taking numerous orders out before mine, I looked around for Ms. Plenty. Nowhere to be seen? No call waiting (hence, the constant busy signal when calling in an order), and she didn't place my order until I arrived, if ever? I walked out. FUCK HER! Too bad, because I really did want to try this place. Maybe when my blood pressure goes back to normal, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. The food showed up in under 30 minutes and was piping hot. The delivery driver was a little confused with my doorbell situation, well at least I think he was because he kept pointing at them both while talking in Chinese. I don't know what so confusing about them as they both have my last name printed on them. Either one works buddy, just so you know for next time. The food was delicious and plentiful. I ordered the Chicken, broccoli and baby corn. The only problem was there was only one piece of baby corn. Adult corn needs to step it up and start making babies. I made a sad face and then continued to devour my food. The dish was light and I didn't feel guilty after polishing off most of the food. The lady ordered shrimp fried rice which was a big bucket of greasy goodness. She also ordered some kind of tofu baloney, which I refuse to eat because tofu just doesn't look like something I want in my belly. She said the dish was flavorful, but the tofu was a little under cooked. How do you under cook rubber? The highlight of the meal was the egg rolls. Perfectly cooked little tubes of fried peanut buttery goodness. I'm glad she's a vegetarian because otherwise a blood bath would have ensued. I happily ate both of them as she looked on with tears. They are a little pricey, but all in all it's worth it. Fast delivery, good hot food, and of course the egg rolls. I will be keeping their phone number on speed dial. I have searched high and low for a Chinese restaurant that I really enjoy - and I finally found one! Delivery time was average and food was still steaming hot. Crab rangoon - crunchy and creamy, great flavor. Some places have very hard crab rangoons - this is not one of those places! Veggie lo mein - super good flavor and nice mix of veggies. I usually don't order lo mein, but I'm glad I made an exception! Orange chicken - here is my only complaint - the flavor tasted more like sweet and sour chicken. Not really orangey like I was craving, but still very good Mongolian beef - exactly how Mongolian beef should be! We ordered delivery from here. It was not good. We had Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon, Chicken Fried Rice and Spicy Garlic Chicken. Everything was lukewarm and coagulated. The Egg Rolls had more of a Nutmeg flavor, which I do not prefer. They also had shrimp in them, which was not stated on the menu. I dont do shrimp. The Crab Rangoon were over fried and not very creamy, kind of dry. The Chicken Fried Rice was seriously lacking. No veggies, a few pieces of green onion and that was it. The chicken pieces were full of gristle. Ew. And, finally, the Spicy Chicken was just not good. The chicken pieces were rubbery and overall, I just didnt care for it. We ordered through GrubHub and the website automatically abbreviates my address for some reason and the driver was confused so maybe if my food had come on time it would have been better. I think I've finally found my Chinese place. While I live in the heart of Thai food, I found it difficult to get good Chinese. But alas, I think I've located a place that has exactly what I'm looking for. For starters, the crab rangoon is addictive. Perfectly crisp and filled with just the right amount of cream cheese/crab inside. This is one of my top two places for crab rangoon. I have to thank Nicoletta R. for raving about the tofu w/ two different mushrooms. I ordered it only because she said it was so good and I couldn't have been happier. It was just perfect. Side note to tofu eaters, this isn't fried so it might not be what you're used to. Oh, I almost forgot about the amazing lunch specials they have. They had some good deals for free food on grubhub too, and in general, prices were very reasonable. For what I paid, I was expecting single serving entrees, but there was enough to share. Our former friends turned us on to Plenty and we get takeout from here a couple times per month. We like it very much for: the fried rice the egg rolls (not as good as Kow Kow, though!) Sesame Chicken Sweet N Sour Pork and SNS Chicken The soups Pot stickers General Tso's Chicken The family who runs it is very nice and always remembers us and often gives us an extra appetizer for our loyalty. Sometimes when we are waiting, they serve us hot tea. Very accommodating. And the price is right. Very hard to find good Chinese food in this city, short of going to Chinatown. read more

I ordered chicken chow fun through doordash and received the vegetables and chicken (no seasoning but salt and greasy goo) in one container and the noodles (just grease) all burnt and clumped together in a separate container... I've never received chow fun from Any place in 2 separate containers and Neither of them had any type of sauce or flavor, just grease!!! Plenty of things to say about this place. Albeit very close to my apartment I don't think I will be ordering again anytime soon. I have had several pick up orders and the food never seemed to get any better. The orange chicken and general tso's chicken were the lunch menu orders this time around plus an order of grab rangoon. The food came out hot and steamy but everything went downhill from there. The chicken in both dishes seems to be all the dark meat mashed together, grissley and not ideally how I would like a chicken dish to be comprised of. The fried rice seemed to be the best part but its hard to mess that up. The crab rangoon were the highlight of the meal - almost over fried but the filling made up for it. And for the egg roll it was very crispy on the outside but everything on the inside seemed to be mushy and had no crunch to it. I mean if they contain fresh veggies there should be some kind of crunch, am I wrong? I was really hoping that Plenty would be better the 2nd or 3rd time around but this was not the case. The price was right for the lunch dishes at 5.39 and I am glad I didn't pay anything more. So I have to say I will avoid ordering from here despite its close proximity. I really couldn't eat the whole dish - not sure if it was the night drinking before or not but plenty of abdominal pain ensued. Side note: my room mate thought completely different and ate his lunch special plus our friends intermittently throughout the afternoon. This place is awful. We ordered via GrubHub. Sure the prices are great, but just no. We got our food warm, not even hot like it states on the menu and it was incredibly dry. My girlfriend and I took one bite and said no way. I contacted grubhub customer service who then reached out to restaurant. Rui of the restaurant said it was nearly impossible for the food to be cold and dry as it was prepared and delivery in under 30-45 minutes. And he refused to refund us back. The grubhub customer service team asked him to reach out to avoid a bad review and angry customer and again, he refused. So here we are. Avoid this place like the plague. I just ordered for delivery and my order made it here in 20 minutes! Of course, everything was very hot when it arrived. The egg rolls were magnificent. Very tasty. The Crab Rangoons, not so much. Not horrible, just not good. Lacking creamyness and sweetness. The Hot and Sour soup was much better than average, but very mushroomy. Great if you like that, I prefer more vinegary, but it was still very good. General Tso's was very tasty. A nice tangy sauce that seemed lighter than usual, and not so pasty. Great! So I normally wouldn't post a review if I've never been to a restaurant in person, but I've ordered from here a few times on Postmates. Is it cheap? Yes. Do they have good deals? Yes. Is the food good? No, definitely not. I got the General Tso's chicken, I've had some bad General Tso's but I always finish it, I couldn't this time - I got 5-6 larger chunks of chicken, the breading was falling off the second I touched it, the chicken inside was bone dry. The sauce was good, but it was full of veggies, in a poorly executed way, not in an "oh neat a bite of broccoli" way but more in an "oh that's why it looked like a lot of food" way. The icing on the cake was the dry rice that came with it. I'm torn. I still like the food but I'm probably not going to order delivery again. I thought the delivery guy was just ornery, always looking at me like I killed his grandmother. Now, I usually tip delivery guys a couple of bucks. One day I decided to tip the guy $5 because it was the holidays. He smiles and says, "That's better." I wanted to take the tip back.
