Ordered one crunchy salad and one pepper farro salad that I added Tofu to, for a total of $27 which is very reasonable for a vegan/protein packed salad these days. We couldn't find it, but there is apparently a little tiny button to add comments if you want to add notes (about changing dressing etc). The Pepper farro salad was DELIC, it was packed with so many tasty ingredients and adding the tofu was perfect. What a great menu - so many choices. My two colleagues and I had three delicious lunches - the salmon croquette special, the eel bowl, and the chicken bowl. We came here on the weekend after a morning spent at the gym. It is a little hard to see from the car as there isn't a clear sign on the outside. Once inside we found it to be very modern yet cozy with a simple layout. We started with a boysenberry scone that was perfectly fluffy, sweet and full. We followed it up with their grilled cheese sandwich with gouda on texas toast and their vegan bowl. I was more of a fan of the grilled cheese but I am definitely not an authority on grilled cheese sandwiches despite winning an informal contest once. It has a very unique flavor, nothing like a traditional grilled cheese, so if you would like something different than the norm you might like it. This place is incredible! I heard about this little spot from my local skating friends and coaches at Oakland ice center. I love trying new spots when I go to Oakland area to skate and couldn't help but try this place out after friends were raving of their salads! I had company so we ordered the bacon spinach salad, the brown rice bowl and the avocado toast. The amount of goodness here makes me want to drive back and order more right now! This place doesn't have an obvious storefront so it's not the easiest place to find but so glad my friend brought me here! It's a small shop with tables and bars to eat at. It's a grab and go type of place, there's no waiter service. The menu isn't too big but it has a lot of healthy options/asian fusion. I couldn't decide between a bowl or salad or something else. I ended up getting the the korean BBQ chicken and I did not regret it whatsoever! It came with hearty pieces of well seasoned Korean BBQ chicken along with a large portion of slaw. The slaw was pretty good and I really enjoyed the korean BBQ. My friend got the vegan bowl and it was such a large portion. I got the chance to try some and it was really good. A friend and I opted for salads: her the chicken romaine with a light caesar vinaigrette, myself the spinach, bacon, tomato salad with a buttermilk, blue cheese vinaigrette. Both salads were simple, ample and delicious. Prices are in the $11 range for most items, which is to be expected for a hipstery spot in this area. I didn't go for coffee this time, but to note they don't have decaf and I don't believe they have iced tea either. They do a have a fridge with some raw juices and potentially some kombucha. Gave this place a try one day after work and I am pleasantly surprised! With a clean interior & friendly staff, Plenty offers an assortment of salads, rice/noodle bowls, pastries, and sandwiches all sourced from the local community & local farmers. Everything on their menu sounds/is super healthy, but also very delicious. I had the Bacon Avocado Spinach salad dressed with bleu cheese buttermilk dressing which costed about $12 after tax. Seemed pricey at the moment when I was paying for it at the register but when I finally received the salad bowl, I was impressed with the portions and also their lovely presentation! It definitely tastes as good as it looks, maybe even better. I ate about half (which filled me up a good amount) so I saved the rest for later. I highly recommend anyone to try this place! I should have wrote this review long ago. I love this place and how convenient the location is. Let's say you go to 24 Hour Fitness on Webster. The temptation to just EAT after a long session is so invasive into our thoughts that sometimes we'll eat whatever is around without knowing. Plenty makes it so easy for me to grab something healthy and DELICIOUS to eat. Their Brown Rice Vegan bowl is my absolute favorite. I tried it earlier this year when asparagus was in season, and since then they've made some substitutions due to it being out of season, but the bowl still does not disappoint. However, it comes with pickled onions so if you hate anything pickled other than pickles, be sure to ask that it not be included with your bowl. Now the location itself. I love the clean, modern design of the place. The WiFi connection is great, although what appeals to me most about the place is how it isn't overly crowded. The space just doesn't allow for that. If you work remotely and want to have a change of scenery, go to the gym nearby and want to keep your diet healthy instead of impulsive, or you're just looking for something new in Oakland to try just go to Plenty. The toast was soft and crunchy with the avocado spread on top which had a slight kick of heat and a perfectly poached egg on top. The employee at the register was nice but that's about as far as it goes for positives. I ordered the bacon spinach avocado salad. The blue cheese dressing was incredibly watery. The spinach portion was fine but the avocado portion appeared to be significantly smaller than photos. The bacon was cold which was fine since the dish was a salad but... it tasted old. Came by Plenty on a Sunday morning. There were three people heading out but otherwise, we had the place to ourselves. Inside, there are lots of window seats and big tables for larger groups. Menu includes sandwiches, biscuit and gravy, rice/noodle bowls, salads, sides, some specials, baked goods, and drinks. I got the biscuit and gravy and AT got a blueberry scone and coffee. The biscuit and gravy plate comes with one biscuit (cut in half), one poached egg, mashed potatoes with duck fat gravy, and a lightly dressed arugula salad. For starters, the dish was a lot more filling than I expected (given there's only one biscuit). As an all-things-potato lover, I really enjoyed having mashed potatoes in the morning. That said, the potatoes didn't have much body and almost seemed like boxed mashed potatoes (I'm sure they're not, but the consistency felt like it!). Despite the texture, I still really enjoyed the rich flavor of the mashed potatoes with the gravy. And biscuit. And poached egg. And salad. It's a cute, clean neighborhood restaurant with some unique and some standard food options. Oh, they've got "plenty" alright. Plenty of kale. Plenty, plenty of kale. As I adjust to the newfound spots and sight lines developing all around Oakland, I've had to learn the hard way to carry a healthy level of caution with me with every encounter and eatery I test. As a devout worshiper of fresh vegetables, I was pretty excited when my BFF suggested we meet a friend for lunch at Plenty. I checked out their website and was inspired by all the rhetoric about fresh, local ingredients and Plenty's passion for the community they're nestled in: "Oakland culture is rapidly expanding, and with all the changes, we want to keep Plenty grounded with community relations, wholesome ingredients, and love for house-made foods. The Oakland community has supported us for years and we want to give back. Through food, we'll be sourcing local and all natural ingredients from farmers we trust through years of working together. Through people, we are working with great non-profit organizations and charities, giving our support when we can." A lot of gentrification lip service, def. But I wanted badly to believe! Did I notice they were overpriced? Kinda, with salads starting at $12.50, but I was willing to give them a chance anyway. I chose to forego a salad and grabbed their Vegan bowl, with organic mixed greens and kale, quinoa, sweet potato, kidney beans, broccoli, squash, pickled onions and smoked almond pesto. Well, that's what the menu said anyway. When the bowl arrived, it was a whole lot of kale and not much else. I turned to my girl and examined her bowl, which was supposed to be the Brown Rice bowl, layered with brown rice, veggies, a poached egg, and, of course, KALE. Except all I saw when I looked down at her situation was more of the same... Hella, hella curly kale crowding a bowl without much else involved. And, might I add, this stuff was seriously lacking flavor. It's one thing to give me a bowl of vegetables and quite another to give me a bowl of relatively raw vegetables without the accouterments promised up on the menu. Plenty charged us $13 a pop for a dish we could have made in a Berkeley Bowl aisle for less than $2 without all the trouble. Only one table has chairs the rest of their tables have stools. the table with the actual chairs was taken so we sat at a table with stools. Wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't having to hold my wiggly 12 month old but I was holding my wiggly 12 month old because they don't have highchairs, so the stools weren't great. Ordered Avacado toast. It may just be a pet peeve of mine but when I order avocado toast I'd like to actually see slices of avocado and not just a smear of green, especially for what people charge for avocado toast. Review #200! I had Plenty bookmarked for weeks, so was delighted when Jeffers recommended it for our lunch spot. Bright, artsy minimalist interiors with countertop-height tables, stools and wall-hugging counters greeted us. I had read their menu several times before visiting but still took awhile deciding -- everything looked so good. One big plus for Plenty: you can order healthy, you can order indulgent. For my main eats, I opted for the former, with their Rice Noodle bowl of lime-seared shrimp, peanuts, cellophane noodles and a host of veggies and fresh herbs dressed with a Thai Chili-lime Sauce. Beautifully served Cobb salad-style (the pic doesn't do it justice as I was already well into eating and mixing it), the Bowl was both refreshing and satisfying. Exactly what I wanted. While Jeffers ordered and enjoyed the Pepper Chicken Farro salad, I insisted we split, even for a taste, an order of the Biscuits and Gravy. As healthy as my rice bowl was, this shared order was a counterpoint of indulgence. And just as delicious. With a poached egg (rating a 9.5 on the JZ jiggle scale -- nice job, guys), mashed taters from heaven, slathered in duck fat gravy, with hearty biscuits that stood on their own merit -- this biscuits and gravy dish was an ultimate comfort food. Just really excellent. All very reasonably priced, and served by a delightful staff. My only minus might be the all-stool seating (a real seat with a back rest would have been welcome that day.) Plenty seems well-oiled for take-out, so perhaps interior seating isn't a primary consideration. Beyond this minor quibble, Plenty won my heart and stomach with its cuisine.
