It was good. They charged us twice but after calling they took care of it. The only complaint would be was the rice wasn't very fresh but other than that, everything was good. Reminded me of tournament food. All they have to add is fawv kauv or pho rolls as another restaurant calls them. read more

Very happy I found this little gem tucked away in a strip mall. The chicken pad Thai was great. I moved from Ann Arbor, MI; a city where you can get any food choice you can imagine. For me, the Thai food experience can be sublime, as one flavor after another blooms on your tongue, almost as a surprise. This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Green Bay! I've tried several dishes from Plias Kitchen and have only found one that wasn't my favorite. I highly recommend the pad see ewe and pad cashew. There Hmong egg rolls and fried Rangoons are great. And I love their Thai iced tea. read more

I have tried the drunken noodle which was quite good...noodles were slightly over cooked. Today I tried the #8 (cannot remember the name). Nice spice to it, however it was lacking flavor...very bland, the noodles were over cooked, and there was either ground turkey or chicken in it. It needed chunkier pieces of meat not ground. read more

The staff is very friendly, but I just wasn't a fan of the food. We got the Pad Thai with shrimp and the Pad See Ew with shrimp. It just wasn't good and the four pieces of shrimp per dish was a bit overcooked. I didn't think the egg rolls were very good either. read more

Ate there for the fist time today and will never do it again. We had the stuffed chicken legs, the potato curry and the squash curry. Also a thing of wantons. The wantons were all right, but everything else was bad. No more than ten minutes after leaving the place, my fiancee picked it back up. Bland food that makes you sick. Never going back!! read more

I remember when Plia's first opened, and I took note to myself that I would have to stop in and give it a try. It was completely empty in there, and I was apprehensive at first. The staff was super helpful and explained a few menu items to me before I settled on the Pad Thai and the spring rolls. I enjoyed both things, but the spring rolls were out of this world! Since then, I have been back hundreds of times. Seriously. Hundreds. My spring roll addiction has grown exponentially, but the real prize at the place is the Pho. You can not beat the quality of this dish, especially at the price it is offered. The bone broth base is perfection, and they are not stingy about the amount of meat that comes in one order. If you dine in, there is a huge variety of authentic sauces and add ones that you can personalize your dishes with that I also love to experiment with. Now, they are basically always busy which I love to see! I recommend calling ahead if you are planning on lunching during the week just to be safe, however they are always pretty fast. I have ordered take out countless times, and have only had an order messed up once, which was quickly rectified in a very polite manner. I stumbled on this little jewel accidentally because it is near the Webster Market where I often shop. It is small, clean, unpretentious and the food is excellent. Unlike many small Chinese restaurants, the menu is relatively limited but contains some very good and unique dishes such as curries. My favorite is the pho noodles served in a huge bowl with delicious broths and chunks of meat, shrimp, etc. You get a side dish of fresh bean sprouts and other goodies to add to the mix. There are many condiments to choose from aside from he usual soy sauce, such as fish sauce, and other spices. The prices are modest and service is efficient and friendly. The beef ginger is delicious if you love ginger; better than any of the generic Thai or Chinese ginger dishes I've ever had around Wisconsin. The pho is like most pho dishes found around Wisconsin. Some of the dishes truly do feel home made compare to the generic fast food stuff from fast food Chinese and Thai restaurant. They need to up their stuff chicken wings, because, its pathetic compare to traditional homemade ones. For good size portion, good quality at a reasonable family prize, Plia's kitchen is a good stop for food. The are not cheap on sauces like other places, other egg rolls by the dozen and take them into your work place for brownie points. My wife, kids, and I really like this restaurant; it fills the void of having good quality southeast asian food in Green Bay. We have eaten at or had carry out from Plia's at least 20 times and it is always good quality and a good deal. I typically get the pad thai which generally conforms to the style that I was originally introduced when I first tried thai food, so I like it a lot. My wife and kids usually get on of the curries (which I end up also eating) and these are excellent also. And don't get me started on the Hmong egg rolls or stuffed chicken wings...delicious. The only knock that I COULD make is that there is some inconsistencies, i.e. sweetness of pad thai, spicyness of curry, etc. I actually don't mind this since adds to the authenticity of being a small family owned restaurant and the slight variations do not affect the tastiness or quality. I will also say that I was disappointed on my first visit because the noodles had a slight burnt flavor, like the oil was overheated, but they have won me over with the quality every other time. This is why it is prudent to give places a second chance. read more

Best bang for the $$ if you want Pho. Food is pretty tasty and they do give you a generous amount. Only thing that would need work is customer service. Sometimes they pick up the phone sometimes they don't. All draw of the luck when you call. While asking the very friendly waitress about the menu, she referred to the chef as "mom". This always bodes well in my book. The family is Hmong so I asked for something mom would make at home and got the chicken squash curry which was really outstanding. The seafood chowder is unbelievable and mouth-watering along with every single appetizer and every other thing on the menu. My second night in Wisconsin and my second absolutely fantastic dinner. I got the normal pho soup, which was top quality. The broth was sweet but tangy and tasted mostly like cilantro because the bowl was full of cilantro. Which is fine, because I love cilantro. My dad didn't think it was fine. Add in the basil and lime and bean sprouts and some jalapeños and you're in for a flavor explosion. Also included is beef, which was tender but fatty, and some meatball type thing which, once you get past the awkward consistency, tastes like sausage. Mom got the pad see ew which was flat egg noodles and veggies and tofu and some form of sauce that was amazing and dad got the pad ka paw which consisted of ground pork, chopped up green beans, rice, an egg, and an awful lot of pepper. It had a delicious sweet flavor and tasted great, but could have been less spicy. The clear standouts at this place are the Hmong egg rolls and the stuffed chicken wings. The egg rolls consist of your average egg roll filling but something about then makes them more tasty than most. They seemed very fresh and flavorful. I am always looking for good local food when I travel. I also am a fan of good ethnic dishes. This place is a local Green Bay eatery that also serves ethnic dishes. I didn't say good food because I can only say it is OK. Their menu is posted on the wall behind a hot holding case that nothing in it but a few of their stuffed chicken wings. Although not an extensive menu, it had quite a few choices. I decided to try something I hadn't seen on other Thai menus. I ordered the Pad Ka Pao. This was a unique dish that combined Basil, green beans cut into very tiny pieces along with crumbled ground pork. It is also available with Tofu. Alongside was a large mound of white rice topped with an egg that was probably deep fried. Surprisingly the egg was perfectly cooked with a runny center and a fully cooked white. Eating the egg rice and the pork mixture together was a unique taste. I am used to Thai food having a lot more intense flavor. On the table was a tray of several condiments including chili oil, hoisin sauce, fish sauce, and several other choices. The big problem is that all of these containers were FILTHY! I was afraid to use them. Adding some of these to the dish would have probably helped but I simply could not bring myself to use them. So I think this place really needs to make an effort towards basic hygiene. I doubt I will return due to this. read more

I ordered a bowl of Kha Poon, excited to try it out since not a lot of places around Green Bay serves this dish at all. The entire time I was eating, it wasn't even eating. I spent the whole time spitting out small pieces of chicken bones with every bite of the dish. I thought what the fuck did i order, kha poon or chicken bone soup??!! It probably would of tasted alright if I didn't spend the entire time spitting out chicken bone. Probably the most horrible experience of all. I don't get how do you serve a bowl full of small chicken bones. These people obviously don't taste their food or love eating chicken bones. Unprofessional. Servers wear tank tops. They dont greet you or smile. The pho was plain, tasteless. And the eggrolls...just nasty. Had a foul bitter after taste, and it's chewy like cardboard. If you like good food, dont go here. Plia's kitchen sucks! read more
