Saw a lot of reviews on Plow and had to give it a try! I was not too happy about waiting over an hour for this brunch place and the food was alright. Our server was kind enough to give us a complimentary biscuit which was delicious. Tried the stuffed French Toast which was good (loved the cream on top), but I think it was too overwhelming. Loved the potatoes on my sisters plate, however was not too fond of the chicken apple sausage bc it was a bit dry.
Heard this was a staple brunch spot in San Francisco and stopped by. Approximate wait time was about 30- 45 minutes but waited ended up waiting over an hour to be seated outside for a party of four. There are a few tables outside the restaurant that are slanted on a small hill and a platform with a few tables on the street. We were seated on a table on the hill and had to be mindful of fluids/sauces filled to the brim. Blankets are also provided on each chair in case it gets breezy outside. The menu is set daily, so the dishes can vary from what's shown in previous photos. After ordering, it took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The summer vegetable hash comes with beans, squash, tomatoes, corn, carrots, peppers and eggs. I typically associate hash with potatoes, but surprisingly this dish does not come with potatoes. The dish was fairly mild, with most of the flavor coming from the individual vegetables. It's definitely a lighter, healthier take on hash and would be a good option if you're looking for something with more vegetables. The plow comes with eggs, lemon ricotta pancakes, potatoes and choice of meat. The lemon riccota pancakes were the star of the dish- light, fluffy and not too sweet. The potatoes were crispy. The steak + eggs was a hearty option. The steak was tender and juicy and went well with the chermoula sauce. Overall, I'm glad I got to try this restaurant at least once, but hesistant to come back because of the long wait and value of each plate.
Came for the ricotta pancakes and they did not disappoint! Highly recommend the plow as it has 2 lemon ln ricotta pancakes with potatoes eggs and choice of protein (we got bacon)! We also got the custard French toast which was soooo good. It would have been too sweet on its own for me but with the plow it was perfect! This is such a great brunch spot and the reason you will wait even 30 minutes on a Tuesday at 10am. Weekends get wild so plan accordingly. No reservation system! Lots of lovely outdoor and indoor seating! Great ambiance in portero hills. Will be coming back. Worth the wait!!!
It seems the stars just keep lowering each time I come . ANY time I am in the city, I subject whoever I'm with to the wait with the promise that it will all be worth it. I fear this time, it was not. We waited 1.5 hours and honored our request to not sit directly in the sun but ended up sitting us VERY closely to the table next week to us. When my bf went to the restroom, it almost felt like I was with the other party. Not a sentence goes unheard. I get you are busy but don't ruin the experience for guests! Give us some space to breathe! Especially outside !!! The food itself was mediocre this time around. I kept bragging about the crispy potatoes but it didn't taste the same as the 7 times I've come before. Not crispy at all. The biscuit was also more of a crumbly coffee cake rather than a flaky biscuit. And not enough butter! The only thing that was still a 10/10 was the lemon ricotta pancakes. I'm sad that I will no longer be coming here but maybe it's time to start going somewhere with reservations!
The food was very good, no complaints about the food whatsover. Staff was efficient, once we were seated the food came out with above average quickness. This place was packed we got there at about 10am on a Saturday to put our name down (no reservations in advance) and ended up being seated around 11:15 or so. We expected it to be packed because it's popular and it was very good, I'm glad we went, but I don't necessarily think it's worth the hour plus wait. The inside seating area is very small so if you're seated inside it gets pretty loud and you'll basically be sitting an inch away from the next table over. We sat outside which was definitely the better experience as long as it's a nice day. One stall bathroom for patrons so there was always a line because of how busy it was.
Phenomenal breakfast. We arrived on a Sunday at 8:30 and had a 45-minute wait. We got seated at the counter which I loved, because it was roomy and we got to see the cooks in action. The most popular order seemed to be the plow which came with a heaping of food and is large enough to share. I ordered a scrambled egg on the side with a honey butter biscuit while my husband ordered the prosciutto and Gruyere toast and a lemon ricotta pancake. The potatoes are an absolute must have. They're boiled then fried so they're soft and buttery inside with crispy edges on the outside and perfectly seasoned. The toast was a homemade loaf sliced thick, toasted with a slab of Gruyere on top that's melted, prosciutto, a beautiful sunny side egg, chili crisp, and some greens. The pancake on the side was yummy. The wait is worth it so don't arrive hangry because there will be a wait and potentially a long one depending on when you arrive. Order the potatoes. Order another side of them if you're sharing because you'll fight over them.
Plow is definitely worth the wait! Our group got a delicious smorgasbord of plates Lemon ricotta pancakes - absolutely delicious. Not too sweet - loaded with flavor Fried egg sandwich - pairs great if you split the lemon pancakes - sweet and savory - definitely add the bacon! The iced coffee was good - a little on the bitter side We sat outside, it was a hot day so bring a hat/sunglasses Plow is a spot to have on your brunch bucket list

More Expensive than Other San Francisco Brunch Spots. Unmemorable Food and Drinks. Paid Meters and Residential Parking. Lively Ambiance Inside with Loud Music. Overall, each of my visits to Plow over the years has been worst than the last, unfortunately, as I keep returning hoping for better but walk out even more disappointed. However, I wish the restaurant the best.
This is an incredibly popular restaurant in the Dogpatch district of SF. The wait time on a holiday weekend was about 1.5hrs. There is some room to sit as you wait and there seems to be plenty of street parking around. The inside is cozy and I was tickled by their menu. They print a new menu daily! I wonder if they vary the menu by the day. We liked everything that we tried! We shared a biscuit and Hong Kong Toast. The toast was a little burnt and you could taste that through the condensed milk. The biscuit with the honey butter was delicious! These make great shareables because they're a lot on their own. The plow is a great sampler breakfast platter and I'm so glad they offer that! It comes with 2 lemon ricotta pancakes, choice of eggs and protein! Huge portions and I shared this with my husband! We really enjoyed the food and would love to return when we're next in SF!

It was such a nice day we sat outside. Food 5/5 The Plow was delicious. Nothing was "salty" Pancakes were nice and soft I will definitely come back even just for the BISCUIT! It's a MUST TRY!
Plow has been on my list of spots to try for over a decade. I finally had the opportunity to check them out on a random early Thursday morning around 7:15am. There were 2 other tables occupied and the server seated our party of 2 next to another table of 2. We were literally arm and arm with our neighbors. I asked for a different table and then got seated next to the other table of 2, which was another arm and arm situation. Finally, I asked if the counter was available, which was where we ended up having breakfast. That was super awkward to say the least. Not just for us, but to the other patrons since there were so many empty tables, including outside tables. Totally understand in trying to maximize seating, but that morning wasn't hustling or bustling with patrons. Good brunch options weren't as plentiful 10+ years ago as it is now. For the price and quality/quantity of our Plow brunch, it was underwhelming. I opted for the Soft Scramble and saw the eggs were from a pre-mixed carton (don't even think they're real eggs). However, The Plow included real eggs, saw the chef crack open the eggs on the grill-top. Sitting at the counter has advantages to see what and how the chefs are cooking. Service started off on the wrong foot with the seating situation, and can't say that it improved. Overall, this experience was just ok. I don't need to come again, I've satisfied my Plow inqueries. #13/2026
I speak this for everyone....wish the place was bigger and with more than 1 bathroom. Wait times are crazy but there's coffee places near by. Food was amazing , those potatoes are perfectly crisp. People are definitely efficient. Ohhh and the smoked bacon .....goooood!
We finally made it to Plow in Potrero Hill after hearing so much hype about it. We expected the hour wait since it's such a popular brunch spot, and honestly sitting outside on a beautiful San Francisco morning in Potrero Hill made the wait pretty enjoyable. The neighborhood itself has such a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food didn't really live up to the reputation for us. I ordered the fried egg sandwich, while my partner got The Plow with eggs, lemon ricotta pancakes, potatoes, and bacon. The breakfast sandwich was basically just egg and cheese with a tiny handful of frisée. Adding bacon or avocado was another $5-6 each on top of an already $18 sandwich, which felt excessive considering how simple it was. The potatoes had good seasoning, but they were pretty undercooked in my opinion. The lemon ricotta pancakes were also disappointing. They were dense, dry, and almost biscuit-like rather than light and fluffy. The bacon and fresh orange juice were both good, though. Overall, the experience and setting were enjoyable, but the food itself just didn't feel worth the hype or price point.
It's rare to have a weekday breakfast out. It generally means that it's a holiday or I'm playing hooky. In this case, it was the latter as a friend joined me in attending the Warriors' season ticketholder event that was being held later this morning at Chase Center. My friend chose to come here from three places that I suggested. I'd heard of Plow but didn't know much about the background and menu. Arriving a little after 9 am on a Thursday, there was no line but only one available table against the far wall besides seats on the counter. We chose the table and quickly studied the menu. As we discussed it, we agreed to order two different things and share them family style. Everything else was good but this was perfectly seasoned with some character without being dry. Everything else was cooked as ordered and, being a generous plate, I brought my toast home given the portions. We also shared the crab scramble (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=d-FJLTLSA-NJZtkwoeHjDg); described as three eggs, dungeness + rock crab, scallions, house creme fraiche, Plow potatoes + toast. This sounded interesting with the high end ingredients being the attention grabber. This was good but the protein didn't shine as the scramble was on the bland side. I didn't want to detract from the crab by pouring hot sauce. My friend had coffee while I just had the table provided water for our meal. Service was efficient with our glass and cup being respectively filled. I was given a small box for my unfinished pancake and toast. The dining room stayed full throughout with a few seats open on the counter. There was a small line and more people walking towards the restaurant as we left. We ordered The Plow and the Fried Egg Sandwich, and both were excellent! The fried egg sandwich was especially delicious -- the bacon really took it to the next level. I'm personally not a big fan of sausage with a slightly sweet flavor, so I preferred the bacon, which was incredible -- thick, smoky, and perfectly cooked. The potatoes were sooooo good and cooked perfectly. The rosemary on top added the best finishing touch -- truly to die for. Service was quick, and we were seated right away as a party of two. Larger groups were waiting outside, so if you're coming with a big group, I'd definitely recommend arriving right at opening or early. Overall, such a great experience! Girls day with some friends on a Sunday. We got the buttermilk biscuit with honey butter for $7.25 that was addicting! The crunch was so satisfying! 30 minutes for this to arrive after ordering. - I got the soft scramble: three eggs, stinging nettles, shiitake mushrooms, goat cheese, plow potatoes + buttered toast. I got mine without the goat cheese for $22.75. - One friend got the lamb tostadas: braised lamb shoulder, Rancho Gordo midnight beans, avocado, little gems, sour cream, pickled onions, queso fresco, cilantro for $26. - my other friend got the plow: two eggs, two lemon ricotta pancakes + plow potatoes, choice of house made pork sausage patties, bacon, or chicken apple sausage links for $26. My first time here and everything was super delicious! The wait can be long - waited over an hour and our check out process was long as well. The food is worth the wait but make sure you're not in a rush to be anywhere! I would love to try the lamb tostadas, the lemon ricotta pancakes, the plow potatoes and the buttermilk biscuit next time as each bite I had was tasty! read more
Put our names down around noon on a Sunday and my party of 3 was quoted around a 2 hour wait. Ended up waiting around 2 hrs 15 mins. Indoor and outdoor seating both available. I got The Plow and chose poached eggs and chicken apple sausage links. My favorite part was the plow potatoes! They were cooked well and had a nice crispiness to them. Lemon ricotta pancakes were pretty good too - a bit on the doughy side for my personal preference but I liked the mini size that came with The Plow. Poached eggs had a bit of a weird rubbery texture, and chicken apple sausage links were a bit too sweet for my liking. Overall I felt like I wasn't super wow-ed by anything in particular and especially given the long wait, I'm not sure if I'd return unless short wait. More recently I look for places that can accommodate a dog so when I was looking for "great breakfast places in SF with a dog and Gluten-Free pancakes" this was at the top of the list. After reading some of the reviews I decided to make it our destination. There is outdoor seating and they had a little pad for you to sit on and they provided little blankets, which is very welcome during these cold days of December! Tables are spaced out nicely so if you're furry friend is on the bigger side they can maneuver around with you comfortably. There was also a clean community water bowl for your pup. First of all it is definitely a dog-loving neighborhood so expect a lot of doggies walking by while you eat. I probably wouldn't recommend it if you have a reactive dog (even a little bit) but if your pup can behave himself through a meal it should be no problem. Second, it really is pretty popular and there was already a good number of people outside waiting when we arrived Saturday morning around 10am so I really liked that their host table was right outside the entrance, making it very easy to check in. I didn't go inside so I don't know how the seating arrangement was inside but I imagine it is kind of small, snug, and homey. My child did use the restroom, though, and he said it was very nice and clean. They also have a nice seating area while you wait for your table. We only waited for about 30 minutes for our table. This might seem really long for some people but I've been to some very popular breakfast/brunch places where the wait could be over an hour and a half so 30 minutes is not crazy. Lastly, the food.... the FOOD! It was so good! My eyes were on "The Plow" because I really wanted to try their pancakes but I didn't want just pancakes! Although the lemon ricotta pancakes were not Gluten-Free we were allowed to sub for the Gluten-Free ones! So it made my choice much easier. The potatoes really had a nice crisp to them and were nothing like any potatoes I've had at other restaurants. It paired extremely well with the eggs and pancakes. The scrambled eggs were made exactly right to our liking - I told her "scrambled and not runny" and they came out fluffy and not overcooked. The Gluten-Free pancakes were also delicious! They were very tasty with some butter and syrup. This location is actually really nice! If you've got a long wait for your table there is a nice little bookstore a few steps away or a coffee shop or a dessert shop where you could go kill some time while you wait. Ok, so I could see parking being a pain in the butt maybe you can just Uber/Lyft it! I will definitely return with my dog and child again! read more
I now understand why the wait is always so long! I came here on a Sunday for brunch with a friend and wow the line was long- took around 45 minutes of waiting (we decided to walk around and make ourselves hungrier). The tables are very close together so don't plan on having very secret or sensitive conversations. I got the Plow- some eggs, lemon ricotta pancakes, potatoes, and house made pork sausage. And WOW the food was excellent. The lemon ricotta pancakes were light and delightful. I could eat an entire plate of them. And the sausages was tasty too- just wish they had a tad more of a spicy kick! Oh and the potatoes- exceptional. I stole some from my friend after eating all of mine. Coming to Plow for a Wednesday brunch probably ranks somewhere in my list of best decisions ever. At 11 AM, my friend and I had plentiful immediate seating choices, opting for a table on their trim streetside patio. Our server was attentive, helpful with choosing dishes, and maintained an enviable sense of style. Food came out within 20 minutes. The Plow: A traditional breakfast plate, featuring pillowy lemon pancakes studded with chunks of ricotta and potatoes that will ruin every potato for you ever again. Fried to a gloriously crisp and airy perfection and embraced by the comforting flavors of onion and rosemary, these are not "marry-me potatoes" but rather "I'll pack up and leave for these potatoes". Lamb Tostada: My new favorite lamb dish - a heaping pile of succulent lamb shoulder, with all the typical gaminess braised out completely. There is something to be said about the black beans that smother each chip, which are mashed to the perfect mouth-coating consistency and just a bit sweet, complementing the fresh vegetables and savory lamb. Plow was on the top of my list for breakfast during my visit. I was seated with no wait on a weekday at 8am, plus their outside seating is very calm and cozy compared to the cramped, bustling inside. The surrounding neighborhood is super cute. I decided on the Plow which lets you try some of everything: 2 eggs, potatoes, meat of choice, and 2 lemon ricotta pancakes. Their signature breakfast potatoes were crispy to the point of shattering, so delicious. I opted for the house-made breakfast sausage which was very meaty with Italian seasonings. I loved the fluffiness of the ricotta pancakes, but I was expecting the lemon sauce to come on top. It was still very good with maple syrup. It is a ton of food though, I tried to finish most of it and just had some potatoes left over. I can tell why this is one of the most popular breakfast spots in SF. Will definitely be back next time I visit! read more

Plow is one of my favorite places to bring friends visiting SF! The wait can range from 45 min - 1 hour, so I would first put my name down and explore the Potrero area. Outdoor or indoor you get great service, but I particularly like sitting at the counter space inside where you can watch them cooking the food while chatting with friends! I highly recommend getting the plow platter because you get the best items on the menu! The potatoes here are my favorite brunch potatoes -- fry is super crispy on the outside compared to typical potato wedges. I also recommend the homemade pork sausages. The lemon ricotta pancakes are super special where it's not too sweet and very light/fluffy. This time I got the seasonal pumpkin pancakes. I liked the spice, but I wish there was more pumpkin or pumpkin spice flavor in the pancakes themselves. If you are choosing between the two, I would go for the lemon ricotta read more
Excellent breakfast spot. I always get The Plow with the pork sausage. Love the crispy potatoes! Their buttermilk biscuit is amazing too. The wait isn't bad if you come early, before 10:00am. We went at 9:20 on a Tuesday and only waited about 10 minutes. We wouldn't have had to wait if we were okay dining outside, but it was a little too cold for that. read more
Perched high in portrero hill, Plow always guarantees two things: delicious brunch & a line. Worry not though, because the wait is so worth it (try to come early if it's the weekend.) I recommend ordering The Plow since it gets you a little bit of everything from sweet to savory. Everything from the lemon ricotta pancakes to the crispy potatoes to the homemade pork sausage is perfection. The warm biscuit and seasonal pumpkin pancakes are also such treats. Guess you could say I would ~plow~ my way thru anything to eat their delicious food! read more

Eat at Plow! This restaurant is very busy every day of the week so make sure to put your name on the list. Once the host calls your name, the service from start to finish is amazing. They pay attention to every detail, including filling up your water glass. While taking a look at the menu, make sure you order their famous house made buttermilk biscuits with honey butter, it's the best biscuit I have had in the bay. The two egg brekkie, the house made sausage and the soft scramble was delicious and made with love. I can't wait to go back to try the other items on the menu. This restaurant is small but bright with lots of windows and lots of chatter so bring your appetite and enjoy the company! read more
My favorite breakfast in SF... and apparently everyone else's judging by the lines. I always get the Plow or the 2 egg (basically the same but with toast v pancakes) and it's just the perfect plate. The Plow comes with 2 eggs your style, choice of meat (I love their chicken sausage), potatoes, and the lemon ricotta pancakes. It's literally the perfect breakfast plate and so satisfying. Every component is individually delicious and the mix of it all together is heavenly. read more

after hearing about plow for so long, I can confirm it lives up to the hype! my sister and I went in on saturday morning at 8:30 and waited around 20 minutes. everybody was also so friendly, including the hostess. the location in potrero hill is so charming and there are plenty of coffee shops to go if you have a long wait. my sister and I both ordered coffee and the plow- which I think is the best option since it comes with lemon ricotta pancakes, eggs, choice of meat (I loved the pork sausage), and potatoes so you get to try everything. we loved the potatoes which had those crispy bits and were even better with their hot sauce. the pancakes are also so special- the ricotta makes it so moist and the tart lemon curd goes amazing with it. I'm already craving going back again to have a big breakfast, and to try some of their other drinks like the juices! plow is certainly worth the wait and I will definitely be back soon. read more

Plow! An institution at this point. 15 years making one of the best branches in the city on their cozy corner of Portrero Hill. Yes, there will probably be a way during bench in the middle of the week. It is worth the wait. If it's chilly, get a fast spot outside. They'll provide a blanket and hot coffee to keep you warm. read more

After dropping our daughter and her boyfriend off at the airport early in the morning, we were on the hunt for a great breakfast spot. Thanks to Yelp and all the amazing reviews, we decided to try Plow--and it did not disappoint. There was about a 25-30 minute wait, but it went by quickly and was well worth it. The biscuit was absolutely delicious, and the portions are generous. We decided to share a plate, which ended up being the perfect amount for us. The service and atmosphere were both wonderful, making the whole experience even better. This is definitely a place we'll be coming back to whenever we're in the city read more
Great breakfast! My favorite in sf. They do basic breakfast really well and everything I've had here was solid. Their eggs are buttery, creamy, and scrambled well. Chicken apple sausage is salty, flavorful, and has a snap. Potatoes are crisp on the outside and soft inside with a hint of rosemary. The pancakes are also the perfect sweetness and moist with a hint of lemon and ricotta. I always order the plow and I love how it has a little of everything. Also tried their biscuit which was also really good. It was buttery, not dry, and had a crisp outer. Service is good, they are super busy most of the time so it's not the fastest but they are always helpful and talkative. It's a small restaurant with limited seats. You are able to eat outdoors but it is often cold so they offer blankets. Longest I have waited was 15 minutes for a table of 2 around 9:30am on weekdays. Anytime after 10am you should oh as expect to wait 20-40 min (or longer) depending on party size. It started getting really busy outside when we got seated. Highly recommend! read more

Food was just okay overall. The ingredients did seem fresh but I'm not sure if the food was worth the 2 hour wait. The lemon ricotta pancakes are overrated and the gravy was a bit too milky/watery, both lacking a richer taste I was expecting. Service also fell short. Our waitress never checked in on us during the meal but when it was time to pay, she stood over our shoulder watching for the tip rather than making sure we had a good experience. Unfortunately both food and service don't justify a return visit for me .. :( read more

They still have really good food, and of course the prices are 'pricey'. However, sometimes you just gotta break the bank when you want good food. This morning's to go service was quick, quite possibly due to it also being very early in the am. It was super crowded when I came, but the people were rolling in as I took my take out order and went about my business. Kind of a quiet and relaxing morning inside. I decided on the brekkie which consisted of rosemary and sea salt potatoes, scrambled eggs and the homemade pork sausage patties...yummy! This was accompanied with a side of toast and orange juice. Plow came highly recommended so I had to check it out. We had a party of 2 for Sunday brunch and we got there around 10:40 (we had already mentally prepared for the wait). The hostess told us it would be about 1 hour 45 minute wait so we walked around a little and took a look at Christopher's book store a block away. We waited outside of Plow for the rest of the hour. Honestly they have a lot of good seating for people waiting and their time calls were spot on. Servers were all really nice and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great (fun music, attentive service, etc). Now to the food. I got the plow. It was a great amount of food. The eggs were cooked perfectly (not too party or too dry). The potatoes were extremely flavorful and crunchy, the bacon was fatty and delicious, and the ricotta pancakes added a bright and sweet flavor that paired well with the savoriness of the rest of the plate. My girlfriend got the Eggs Benedict which was my personal favorite. The Spinach was perfect and flavorful and I wish I could've eaten more. Also the table next to us ordered the biscuit and the smell was so good, we had to order one too. It was so worth it (hard on the outside, soft inside, delicious butter). Will be the first thing we order next time. I gave it a 4/5 because the wait is tough for breakfast, but if you're ready to make a day out of it, then it's definitely worth it. read more

If you're looking for the ultimate breakfast spot, Plow is it. Hands down one of the best breakfast experiences I've had! Their buttermilk biscuit is absolutely out of this world--perfectly flaky, buttery, and just melts in your mouth. It's the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after you leave. Everything here feels thoughtfully made, from the quality of the ingredients to the presentation. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is just as great. My friends are making me fat(ter) and poor by the minute. But making me rich in friendship, love, and good company. Had a catch up and yap session with my wifey over brunch @plowsf @plowsf has been in my bookmarks forever and we both had never been so what a good moment to try it, especially on a weekday as I've heard the wait on weekends can be upwards of 3 hours . Anyhow, while waiting for our table for 2, one of our coworkers came to say hello to us and told us this is her favorite brunch restaurant in all of the Bay and to get the biscuit! Wow, just made our expectations that much higher. Our wait was less than 10 minutes. Awesome! The dining area is quite small and our table for 2 was close to a table for 4, like the tables were separated by barely an inch. No worries, we were still able to yap plenty . There is also outdoor seating and if the weather had been a little warmer, maybe we would have opted to eat outside. We went w N's suggestion of the biscuit and it did not disappoint. It was still nice and warm, a little crisp on the outside, but very tender, moist, and buttery on the inside. And the honey butter paired with it, took it up another notch, chef's kiss. We both ordered "The Plow" which had a taste of everything: 2 eggs, choice of meat (bacon, housemade pork sausage, or chicken apple sausage), crispy potatoes, and 2 lemon ricotta pancakes. I had mine w the pork sausage and she had hers with the chicken apple sausage. I could really taste the seasoning the sausage. We both ordered our eggs scrambled and we agreed they were done right. Light and fluffy. The potatoes were nice and crispy and seasoned very well. We both had mixed feelings about the pancakes. I actually didn't care for them. They were a little dense for my liking probably due to the ricotta. The lemon added a nice touch of flavor, I'm just used to pancakes being fluffy and melt in your mouth. Overall a nice brunch. We arrived on a Friday morning around 11:30am and we were told the wait would be about 45 minutes for two people. There is outdoor and indoor seating, although quite quaint/small. We ended up being seating inside. The waitress was very friendly and provided great service. She was quick to provide us with drinks and we ordered right away as we had already prepped reading the menu during our wait for the table. My husband and I split the buttermilk biscuit to start (served with honey butter!) it was a great treat and was very flavorful and dense. It was a bit filling before the breakfast and I probably wouldn't order it again, although I did enjoy it. We each ordered The Plow breakfast which seemed to be the best bang for the buck: two eggs, potatoes, two mini ricotta pancakes, and a choice of meat (I ordered the chicken apple sausage and my husband got the regular sausage). There is a house made salsa served with the meal as well. Overall I thought the breakfast was good. It didn't blow me away, but that's the unfortunate thing about an overhyped restaurant- you come in with really high expectations. The potatoes were seasoned nicely and a good sized portion is served. The chicken apple sausage was really good. I didn't like the lemon ricotta pancakes as much as I thought I would. The texture was great (dense, moist, fluffy) but maybe the lemon zest threw me off. Either way, it was a unique treat that I'm happy I got to try. Overall a fun place to check out in Potrero Hill! Always love Plow and a solid SF establishment. The plow is usually my go to but I do love their prosciutto and Gruyère toast with an egg too. Obviously their potatoes are a must - and my favorite potatoes of all breakfast restaurants I've been too- perfectly crispy and not too oily. Definitely worth a visit as always but be prepared for a wait if you go during peak times as it's quite a small place. read more
Hey munchkins! Hope y'all are doing well today. One of my friends recently got a professor job at an awesome university so I am stoked! To celebrate we go to Plow to get some great brunch. Its one of his favorite places and after reading this review I'm sure it will be one of your favorites too. We go there early in the morning, the sun is shining, our spirits are up, and we have a whole day ahead of us waiting to be conquered, and eaten! When we get there there is a bit of a wait (40 minutes). While this is unfortunate its by no means a deal breaker. The waiter, Sierra is super nice and helpful! We get potatoes, eggs, and bread. The potatoes are definitely one of Plows strongest points! They're nice and crunchy without being overdone. The eggs are nice, warm, and fluffy. The meal here reminded me that its truly the simple things in life that matter. Having a meal that is simple but delicious is exactly what I needed. And catching up with longtime friends really reminds me of whats important in life. The one downside is that the wait can be quite long. If you are doing this another time it can be 1-2, sometimes 3 hours. While I can't say it will always be worth it then sometimes you do gotta wait for the important things. But if not, I get that, there are other places out there. But if you're like us you may find the wait to be worth it and you may find yourself coming back here frequently. Wait was about 2-3 hours on a Saturday. They don't take your number or anything so you have to make sure you're around when they're calling your name. The biscuit is phenomenal. Went with a friend on a Tuesday around 11:45 and had to wait a little about 20 mins. We shared our orders to get a taste of everything. I ordered the Plow which had 2 lemon ricotta pancakes, choice of eggs, a mound of potatoes, and a choice of protein. I chose scrambled eggs and the chicken apple sausage, I loved how the eggs were scrambled almost felt perfect to how I like it & the chicken apple sausage was good too. The thing that caught me was the pancakes cos holy schmokes they're sooooo good!!!! Not too lemony or sweet either. My friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was also really yummy, the crunchiness, the flavors, all went so well together. There's indoor and outdoor seating. They box your left overs for you. Parking wasn't too bad, but in the Potrero neighborhood so can be hard if it's busy but I never had any issues. read more

Usually has a very long wait. Came on a weekday and still waited about 20 minutes for a table. Small space inside and pretty tight between tables. I really don't get the long waits and the hype. It's generally overpriced brunch food like any other brunch place in the city. read more

I was initially skeptical of how good this place could be for brunch but I am now a convert. This place might possibly have the best potatoes I've ever had in my life. They were soooo(perfect amount) of crispy and seasoned!! And the lemon ricotta pancakes were unlike any pancake I've had before! Would kinda describe it as an a light lemon pound cake. We also ordered the prosciutto and Gruyère toast, and that was also super tasty. Would definitely recommend getting that too! Overall, this brunch place did not disappoint. However, do be warned that the wait for 2 ppl on a Saturday morning (we got there at 10:30) was almost 2 hours. So be prepared to wait! 100% worth the wait though!! read more

The busiest times for Plow are early morning through lunchtime. This restaurant is very small and popular and my recommendation would be to go towards the end of their day. We did that and only waited 5 minutes!

Shouldn't be long but the earlier you come the better. I'm not sure I've ever waited at all when arriving before 8:30
