    Sushi and Sashimi For 3
    Alex D.

Great place to satisfy that sushi craving! Friends and I got Sushi and Sashimi for 3 and it was great and so much food we barely finished it! The quality of fish was great from the rolls , to nigiri and to sashimi. The place seems a bit small but we did go early dinner but didn't mind that at all. We also ordered so Shrimp Tempura and Agedashi Tofu, both were fried perfectly and taste amazing! Service was good and friendly.

The best sushi in Rochester. They have great combo deals and everything is fairly priced. The Philadelphia roll is great. Delivery is usually on time and they're friendly and listen to delivery instructions. My go to sushi delivery.

This sushi was the bomb.com! I recommend it to anyone coming to the city. I would absolutely go here again!!!

Sweet Heart Roll (closer) and Rochester Roll. The rochester roll had amazing crunchy texture!

I'm so happy this restaurant is just as good as I remembered it from back when I was a little girl! The fish are really high quality and the chef's special rolls are excellently designed. We also got the tempura appetizer, which was a nice start to the meal. If you're looking for really great sushi, this is the place!

Food was pretty good and didn't take long to get to the table. They have open seating so it is first come first serve but it doesn't seem to have a lot of traffic so there was no wait.

    Chicken Teriyaki Dinner Combo

My friends always had good things to say about Plum House. Unfortunately, I don't share their enthusiasm. My girlfriend and I finally went to check it out because we had a coupon for a free menu item (up to $12 value) after purchasing an item of equal or greater value. We arrived a little after 4pm and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The service was incredibly fast, clocking in around 25 minutes to receive all of our food. The miso and salad were pretty standard, the highlight definitely being the Ocean Wave sushi roll and then our entrees were rather disappointing. The chicken teriyaki and tofu teriyaki were nothing to write home about. I didn't mind the chicken, but the tofu was plain sad. It was completely mushy and the frying was peeling off, as if the tofu skin was coming right off. We have another coupon so I am tempted to return and try a noodle dish or donburi. All in all, surprisingly lackluster after all the recommendations.

Plum House is good stuff. They have a big menu with something for everyone, and the prices are really affordable. I picked up a to go order today with the Crispy Roll and Beef Negimaki. The Crispy Roll has tentasu, crab stick, cucumber, and seaweed. It was the perfect mix of crunchy and crispy textures. The Beef Negimaki (scallions wrapped in beef) was good too, though I would have preferred just a tad bit more sauce on top. I've never actually eaten inside the restaurant, but I plan on coming back soon. They have a lot of rolls I want to try and you can't beat the prices!

Let me start by saying that I'm not a sushi snob, but I do appreciate great food and especially fresh fish. Plum House is my favorite place to get sushi downtown. I've been coming here for years because the fish is always fresh and the prices are fair. The rolls are creative, diverse, and prepared nicely and they also have a full menu of Japanese dishes. Since I'm allergic to avocado, they're always willing to accommodate by excluding it from my rolls. Besides all the sushi, I also recommend the udon noodles and goyza. Pro Tip: There's usually a Groupon for dine-in only, which is a fantastic deal. Show it to the waitress before you order.

I was so surprised by how much I liked this place, especially coming from California where the sushi is amazing. I've come here a few times and have always had great service. For appetizers, I've had the tempura which is pretty good and crispy and not too oily. For rolls, I've had the Rochester roll, volcano roll, and four seasons. All have been yummy! Next time, I wanna see if they have drinks like sake and try it out. Recommend if you're craving sushi in Rochester!

Sometimes I wait months to write reviews and other times, I must write them immediately! Plum House is one of those places. I've often passed this restaurant on Monroe as I go elsewhere. Well, it's the day before Thanksgiving and I wanted a little Asian food. So I noticed they had a discount on Uber eats for free delivery so I decided to give them a try. What a mistake that was. I've heard from friends about their subpar food but wanted to try it out for myself One positive- they had great to-go packaging The several other negatives include the steak in the steak teriyaki box, the tempura shrimp which seems like one cell of a shrimp, the seaweed salad, the dressing on the salad, and the miso soup. Sorry, did you get confused reading that?? It must be because I listed every aspect of the meal. Everything was poorly cooked, seasoned, or had a strange texture. The amount of items left behind that couldn't be eaten accounted for more than half of the meal. I also ordered a salmon roll and ended up removing the salmon because I was concerned based on the quality of the rest of the meal. Looks like I'll be going back to just passing this place right on by and recommend you do the same.

Funnily enough Plum House is the nickname of my old dorm room.

The space is cozy and inviting, with booths wrapped around the conveyor belt so you can immediately start eyeing the plates gliding by. The sushi on the belt was fresh and tasty, though we noticed the selection leaned a bit heavily toward spicy‑mayo‑based rolls. Everything we tried was delicious, but we would have loved to see a little more variety for those who prefer something less saucy. Thankfully, the touchscreen ordering system made it easy to branch out. You can order drinks and à la carte sushi directly from the screen, and your items arrive on a dedicated upper‑deck conveyor that zips your order straight to your table. It's a clever setup and really helps round out the meal with more options. Drinks were delivered by an adorable robot, which added a fun, whimsical touch. Tables were cleared promptly, and the whole experience felt smooth and well‑run. We had a great time and will definitely be returning.

You are seated at a tablet in front of a conveyor belt with the sushi making it's way around the restaurant. You can take whatever catches your eye as it passes in front of you, or you can order from the tablet. If you order from the tablet, little cars bring the food on a second, higher conveyor belt above the first one, or sometimes a robot brings it to your seat. So there are 2 moving belts, robots, and servers. It's a lot! Fun, but be aware. It is cool that you can see things moving past and try different things. The plates on the belt are also less than a full order, which means you can try more things, if that's your style. Service is pretty quick since you're helping yourself from the belt. They do a good job making sure there is a variety of items on the belt and seemed to restock pretty quickly. You can mostly chose from rolls and nigiri. I do like American style rolls, and enjoyed the options. The guy prefers nigiri. We ordered some tempura and picked some nigiri from the menu as well. I really enjoyed the veggie tempura. They have good salmon - we tried the peppered salmon, which he thought was too much, but was smokey and peppery, and I enjoyed. There was also a spicy yellowtail, and plain salmon that was also nice quality. We shared an ice cream sundae with one of the little fish shaped cakes for dessert, which was really good. I liked the little cake with the red bean paste inside. It was fun and pretty low key.

We came here on a packed Saturday night when RIT's Nova group was hosting a fundraiser, so we got discounted AYCE and we knew a portion of proceeds were going to their organization. The wait was about 50 minutes at peak dinner time, so that was fair. I was very impressed with how clean and efficient everything was, including the cart at the end of the table for used dishes. Our food came out fairly quickly as we ordered on the tablet, and it was the kind of quality you always hope to get at a sushi joint: nice sized portions, very fresh tasting, lovely presentation. I appreciated that you could also help yourself to the rotating belt options for no extra charge. The only things we paid extra for were fountain drinks, and even those included refills (or so we were told - we only had one). The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. I hope whatever issues people experienced here in the past have been resolved because it sure felt like a top tier experience at an affordable price to me! I chose this place because it offers not only sushi but also some dim sum dishes. It's a great place to try something new. We waited almost an hour for a seat on a busy night, but since it's an all-you-can-eat restaurant, I think it was reasonable. There were about 10 people ahead of me on the waiting list, and the food quality remained delicious throughout the meal. The service was also keeping up with the demand. The sashimi was incredible. I can't say I don't like any sashimi, but I love them all. Almost every sushi and sashimi we ordered was delicious. However, there's one thing I don't care for: the sticky rice shumai/shu mai. We think it's lacking in flavor. Overall, we had a great time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was good. I do think there's room for improvement in the dessert menu. We went on a Wednesday evening and were the only people in the restaurant for a little bit, so I would definitely recommend coming out on a week night if you can! Our server was absolutely lovely. It was super easy to browse the menu and make our selections, and we didn't have to worry about any awkwardness. Might just be a me thing, but I sometimes feel self conscious putting in a big order when I have to actually say it out loud to a person, so their phone ordering system was super helpful in making me feel more comfortable. The food was really good! On par with many other sushi places I've been in Rochester. I don't eat meat, and there were still so many veggie options for me. I especially loved the veggie dumplings and tofu skin/avocado roll. My bf loved the spicy crab onigiri and the beef skewers. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. We ordered a Dream Roll and a 2 in 1 roll. Neither were that great and the dream roll was missing the tuna and salmon it was supposed to have and they used a crab stick instead of real crab which was disappointing as well. The 2 in 1 roll was ok but nothing special. I will say that the order was ready early and they were gracious enough to included eel sauce and spicy mayo on the side as I requested, because it was not available as an add on, so I am going to assume the service is solid. So, if you have the time, this place is totally worth it for the 25$ all you can eat option. It's alacarte and the sushi chef makes really really good rolls. The inside is incredibly outdated, thus this place isn't what I call a formal upscale date place to go but if your date/friend can put down sushi and can appreciate good quality sushi, then this place definitely is a 5/5 for sushi.
