There's only one that stands out because of his morals and ethics and that's Dave Della Maggiora. I've had the opportunity to work with him side-by-side when I was a handyman myself before hanging up my tool belt and picking up my Bible to become a pastor. I have seen Dave go the extra mile to help out customers and I have witnessed him do plumbing on commercial store fronts. I've seen this man install new copper plumbing that was nothing short of pure artistry. I have seen David crawl underneath houses to help people out when they were in a bad situation even though he was due to go home and be with his family, he would not leave people in a bad situation nor would he send a employee to do something he was not willing to do himself. I have called on him several times to do plumbing for my customers when it was beyond my expertise as a handyman. Always with great results. This is another level of faith in someone when I would entrust my customers to him, since it was my reputation on the line. Getting a recommendation from a neighbor, we called Dave for our water heater issue. He NEVER mentioned his $168/hr charge, engaged with us in lengthy discussion, told us that the exact model replacement will be under $250. However, once the work was done, he refused to keep his word about cost replacement to be under $250 and asked us to pay $672 for 4 hours of work, even though he spent 30min first day to discuss the problem, 15-20 min to remove the old unit and less than 2 hours just working on putting the new unit. I felt it as a complete rip off, but he wouldn't budge. Since he said it was his wife's birthday that day, I just let it go and paid him since the new heater was already placed in. They were pretty responsive in terms of coming out to take a look at our problem and discuss our options with us verbally, in theory in order to give us a quote. Unfortunately, while the guy was very nice, all we ended up with was a charge for a quote, of $75, which was not disclosed until after he showed up and described his recommendations (replacing toilet sewer line, replacing tile work around a leaking tub shower). We learned later from another plumber that our toilet sewer connection was fine. The only evidence of issues was very old (ie, it was not an active issue but was fine now) and when this other plumber replaced the toilet for us, he showed us how there was no active leak and hadn't been for a long time. We also learned from the other plumber that we didn't need to remove all our tile and replace it to deal with the leaking shower stall. Rather, we just needed to re-grout the existing tile -- a far smaller and less expensive job. So we were disappointed with Plumb Perfect. They were the ONLY person who charged us to create a quote....that cost was not disclosed ahead of time.....and what he told us needed to be done didn't actually end up being the case. read more

This company is NOT RELIABLE!! I had a confirmed appointment for an emergency service. They never arrived for the appointment and I could never reach anyone at the company again. I left several messages and still never got a call back to this day. And because my appointment was confirmed for the end of the day I was left paying an extremely high rate for an after hours service. It's rare to find a plumber so knowledgeable that also has fair pricing and isn't trying to up-sell you just to get more of your money. We've had our HVAC serviced and a water heater replaced by Plumb Perfect inc. Each visit they were on time, friendly and clean. I liked that I got a detailed explanation of what my plumbing issue was and what options I had to address it. I would call Dave at Plumb Perfect again for any plumbing issues. Very knowledgable and smart. We communicated by phone/text and he kept me updated when to expect him. It worked really well sending photos of the situation so your plumber can be as prepared as possible. Dave brought all the parts needed to correct a bad PVC pipe install that has plagued us with leaking and poor drainage for years. A joint actually came apart and we were desperate to get our sink up and running again. Dave was able to come the next day and we now have sturdy, gleaming metal pipes and I can easily retrieve something lost down the drain in the u-bend - LOL. read more

I have never had the pleasure of having Dave come to my house but I did work for him briefly in 2001. In that single summer I learned more about being a professional, and doing work that one can stand back and genuinely be proud of than I have in 5 years (yes five!) in a University, three and a half years working professionally in NYC and two and a half years working for that said University. I had a very old sink needing either replacing or restoring. With everything built around it, the sink was impossible to replace without redoing the whole bathroom. They restored this old sink so it almost looked new. Very few plumbers can or would do this. read more

He suggested we replace our faucet to prepare for the installation of a new reverse osmosis unit, and he removed the existing filter to make things easier. There was also a hole in one of our pipes. They sent Chris and Andrew who arrived on time ! The job took longer than expected because of the grease and grime over the years plus the way the pipes were laid. Chris and Andrew snaked much further than required to ensure every thing was cleared of the grime. We paid Plumb Perfect $1100 to fix a shower problem (water would back up in the shower and end up in the bathtub). The guy claimed to have put in 100 feet of snake from the side of the house to the main sewage in the street. He said he cleared out the clog, but a few days later we got the same problem we paid the company to fix. Next time I saw him, he talked to me about a new problem. A pipe was supposedly all corroded with a leaking scar on the top and needed to be replaced. He made a drawing of the problem and wanted another $1400-$1800 to fix this! I had a friend come over and look under the house, and he didn't think there was anything wrong with the pipe. read more

Plumb Perfect has been working off-and-on on our kitchen sink leak since November of 2013. The first plumber they sent out did not analyze the problem thoroughly. He tightened some pipes under the sink, the leak persisted, and I had to call again. This time I got Dave and was asked to replace the kitchen sink faucet. He recommended a supply house that Plumb Perfect favors, that has just one outlet in Santa Clara. My husband and I both work full-time and have two very active boys, yet I made time to go down to the recommended place over one weekend. The supply house did not have the brand or finish I was looking for and told me that I could order one from their catalogs if I wished to. I like Moen as I've used their faucets in the past and love the look and functionality. So I did some on-line research myself and special ordered a beautiful Moen. The first appointment with Plumb Perfect for the install was sometime mid-day on a working day and I rushed home in the middle of my work day to be on time. After I got home, at the time of the appointment, I get a call from Dave's office manager explaining how he forgot he was supposed to be at our house for the install and was stuck at another job. So I schedule for another day, requesting that Dave come in early enough in the afternoon to finish the install (which they estimate will take 2 to 3 hours) before our kids have to picked up at around 4. Dave turned up closer to 3. And then told us that the Moen faucet was very poorly made (I hope someone from Moen is reading this) and that and he will not install it. In the days that followed we went back and forth with Dave recommending another brand/model that I did not like. I finally asked him to recommend a Moen model that he would be willing to install, but despite follow-up phone calls and emails from my end, there was no response or action from Plumb Perfect. We finally got tired of waiting to hear back and went ahead and used a different plumber. Dave might be a good guy and might work for you if you have a stay-at-home person with time on his/her hands but if you are busy professionals that just need someone to come in and get the job done well, I would not recommend Plumb Perfect. read more
