This review is well overdue, we've been working with Art and Anthony for 3 years now! We got our house 3 years ago, and it came with a 3-zone mini-split inverter system. When our first summer came around, we noticed the A/C wasn't cooling. So they came out, checked our freon levels, and sure enough we had a leak in our system. They sealed whatever they could to what they had access to (2 of the 3 systems inside and the unit outside), and they asked us to try it for some time. After a few weeks, sure enough the A/C stopped cooling, and the 3rd unit that didn't have an access panel had the leak. We worked with Anthony to put an access panel on our wall, so he can seal the leaks. Long story short, it was good and our cooling and heating worked... for a year. So we called them up, and told them that after they fixed it, it stopped working. Each time, they came through and ensured that we were satisfied with the A/C unit. Beware to homeowners of mini-split systems, if the people who installed it didn't properly seal the system, you'll have issues :) We don't worry because we have Mr. Reliable to take care of us. This is where my wife and I are impressed and will continue to do business with them: they stand behind their work and will make sure their work, actually fixes the problem. We loved working with them so much that we hired them to build an automatic pump for the condensation drip -- the previous owner had big buckets in the crawl space that just filled up every summer -- we didn't know until Anthony showed us. They only charged us for the work to initially fix the system (freon re-fills, diagnosis, and everything) and to install a automatic pump for the condensation drip project... regardless of how many times they've come out to fix it. All I can say is, we've found our HVAC people as long as we have our house here in the bay area. read more

Honest, thorough and very professional. My HAV stopped cooling and it was refilled with coolant last year. It's an old unit and suspected a leak somewhere. I selected a few companies to get diagnostic done at reasonable cost through Yelp reviews. Some companies either kept guessing the issue, charge a lot more to have better diagnostic or recommend to get completely new system. Once again, I've relied on Mr. Reliable to come out and fix my A/C unit. My system is 19 years old. I've used them before and was not up sold on any new products in the past. Today 08-25-22 Anthony came to my house because my A/C was not blowing out cold air. Anthony was very professional and patient with me listening to me explain my problem. Anthony in a timely manner discovered the problem and replaced the capacitor. I was fairly charged for labor and parts. I did not feel pressured to upgrade my 19-year-old A/C unit. I don't write reviews often. But Art and his teams' work deserves more good reviews. We planned to switch from an electric stove to a gas stove, and we do not have kitchen ventilation installed. So our project includes a new dedicated gas line and a kitchen ventilation duct installation. We got four quotes from different companies, Art was the most professional one with a very affordable price range. During the estimation, he was the only one that checked everything to make sure the quote was accurate. The duct was very tricky to install without removing the drywall, but they managed to complete the work perfectly as promised. You can feel they care about the work and your property, and they try hard to get the job done correctly. We were able to pass the city inspection without any issue. Right now three weeks have passed, and we enjoyed our new gas range very much, as well as our new kitchen range hood. I would like to thank them for being honest and professional. read more

My issue was poor air circulation in all of the rooms. House was built in the 70's and the heating duct was probably original. I called Mr. Reliable and explained my problem. Art came out and assessed the problem. Art recommended a solution and gave me a good estimate. Anthony and Alonzo came out and replaced the entire ducting system and installed new larger vents and dampeners. Our old water heater died. These guys came out quickly and thats the best thing I can say. After that they gave us an estimate of 5K for a new traditional tank hot water heater and 8K for a tankless. This included removal of a slave 40 gal tank from an old solar hot water system as a slight complication to a normal job. 5K/8K for a new hot water heater. What made them decide to gouge us I dont know. That we didn't have Hot water, my wife was home alone, the extra labor to clean up the old solar hot water mess?????? They were saying it was going to be an all day job for two guys. seemed outrageous. Another local company came out and sold us a properly sized tankless unit for our house. Ripped out all the old stuff and recycled the pipes and installed the new unit and ventilation system. The main installer did most of it in about 5 hours and then a co-worker showed up at the end to help carry and load the old heater cores. All the work was neat and tidy. for slightly more than 3k. not 8k Buyer beware..... These guys wanted to charge 5K over on a 3K job. read more

Good company to work with! I had a bad leak near our water meter and got a reference from our neighbor recommending Art. Art came out to the house and found the area we needed to trench. I had to coordinate the timing with our artificial turf company to expose the dirt below and Art scheduled his team (Tony) to arrive a day later. Tony came out on his day off, on time, dug up the area, got to the bottom of the issue (literally), and fixed it right away. He replaced the water box exactly where it needed to be since the artificial turf was cut to fit. Everything's back to normal and you can't tell there was a problem. Yesterday I had a really last minute plumbing emergency because the other guys I went to previously, never called me back the day before (3 voicemails left). I decided to give Mr. Reliable a call, as I received a great response from them on a quote for drain clearing before on Yelp. I was able to get same day evening plumbing service, with a toilet change (tank cracked all the way to the bowl), and changing out the leaking hose and valve that connected the toilet to the wall. Karla also had me set up a backup appointment for today in case everything couldn't be done last night. Karla's customer service on the phone was top notch, and she was so friendly and understanding of our emergency. We had Tony come out and he was also very nice and knew what he was doing, even offered an inspection underneath the house, but we deemed it was too dark to see anything at that time of night. Overall, 5 star service and support. I'd recommend them if you have an emergency like us, or just need to setup a regular appointment. read more

Kitchen sink was leaking called at 2pm responded over yelp in minutes had someone out by 6pm the guy worked till 8pm as there was multiple leaks. He got the new faucet installed that I had got from Home Depot. Turns out there was a problem with it, he came back the next day with a new head which fixed the problem didn't charge me for new head or for the extra visit. It was about $200 to replace the bad plumbing under the sync and about $250 to replace a faucet. Not sure where that comes in price wise but service and friendliness is top notch, and the hardware has been in place for about a week now with no issues. read more

Like a good neighbor, I was helping someone in my court with her tenant. They called the city and she had 5 days to complete the work. I desperately went to Yelp and submitted a quote and Mr. Reliable Plumbing & Heating called me within 15 minutes of requesting the quote. They quickly scheduled Bruce and within an hour he was at the property to inspect the work. Bruce was honest and told us the leaks were minor and assured us he could complete all the work within 2 days. He regrouted the tub, fixed a broken valve, and repaired a leaky sink. They filed the needed permits if needed with the City. After the repairs were completed the tenant damaged them. Bruce went out again at no cost to ensure the repairs were completed before the City inspection. They charged us $60 to inspect the repairs but overall they were competitive with the market and quick and efficient. Leaks are stressful, but they don't have to be with the right help. read more

After starting off with poor communication, the owner was Very responsive. He contacted us the same day to apologize and make things right. One of his technicians was at our house that same day and diagnosed the problem. The problem was fixed the following morning. The only reason for delay was parts availability (happens sometimes and is largely out of the control of the plumbing repair company). The technician was on time and called when he encountered delays due to traffic or waiting for parts. He explained what happened and what need to be done. He even cleaned up after he was through. Sometimes mistakes happen. That is when a company's integrity and customer service is tested. Mr. Reliable passes with flying colors. We would not hesitate to call Mr. Reliable again. read more

Our thermostat stopped working and Anthony from Mr. Reliable came out and expertly diagnosed the problem as being a failed furnace fuse. He then pointed out that because the furnace had its own dedicated power line, there was no need to charge me to replace the fuse and instead bypassed it and wired directly to the switch. Mixed feeling. A small job should have been completed in 15 mins took 2 days and 300$+. I asked these folks over for their good reviews and I am not pleased by their service. They come over and present you a rate sheet in which there is no mention or relevance of the issue. It's starts at 300$. I had to cycle through 2 technicians as first one did not know or have right equipment. A lot of frustration due to waiting either on the phone or waiting for technicians. Had to take a day off. Anyhow.. gave them 3 stars because the finally did the work. read more

After a few months past I was extremely surprised to see that both the Business Owner and Manager were both eager to listen to my service concern and went out of the way to turn my negative experience into a positive one. So many companies today are so eager to take your money and once they receive it, they don't want to have anything to do with you if you have any issues. I would highly recommend Mr. Reliable because of the exceptional customer service I received from both Diane who originally took my phone call, to Bruce who came out promptly to see if I had a major issue with my noisy toilet and a foul odor in the same bathroom. Diane was extremely patient and understanding when I explained my issues and tried her best to get someone out same day, since I was filled with worry. Bruce arrived within hours in his nice red shirt & hat uniform with a friendly disposition. He asked what the issues were and was eager to figure out some resolutions. Good news was that the toilet was just fine, and not leaking the fill valve was just noisy. Bad news was the foul odor was determined to be something dead behind a wall or between floors that did not make it out. He was so knowledgeable and made sure everything in that bathroom was draining, p-traps in place and everything venting properly as well. So, overall my experience was wonderful to work with people who genuinely cared about making sure I didn't have a major sewage leak. read more

Be careful! We were in an emergency situation but felt pressured to sign on the dotted line. The costs were incredibly high and we didn't feel we had any options at that moment after they dug a hole in the front yard, and then pressured us to decide. After the fact, we checked other sources and found that we probably paid $4,000 too much! Paperwork was sloppy, and I'm frustrated that they are actually using a picture of MY HOUSE and the job they were doing here on this site - especially when we are NOT happy! read more

This company is unreliable and not honest. My property has a clogged drain and their initial estimate is around $200. After two day's work the plumber said he now needs to increase the cost to over $700. I asked him face to face whether he guarantees the drain will be fixed if I pay this drastically increased price and he said yes. But then he still cannot finish the job. What is worst is that he just left with the broken drain and sent us the bill of $761! We called the company and asked why they sent the invoice knowing that the job is not done. The reply we got is that they never guarantee that they will finish the job! In this end we have to hire other plumber from a different company, and this new plumber fixed everything in 10 min and charge us only $120. So here you go, this company is unreliable, doesn't have the right skill set, and will leave without completion. Avoid this company if you can. read more
