Crap shoot. After making 9:15pm reservations, showing up on time, watching a group arrive after us get a room, and waiting over 1.5 hours, we still didn't get a room (or an explanation). Staff was unapologetic and defensive about the situation. Ruined our night since it was too late to go anywhere for our friend's birthday. To be fair, I am definitely not a Karaoke master; however, Plush Karaoke Lounge didn't have a huge selection of English songs. The songs they did have in English were just "alright". Nothing super exciting (at least for our specific group). Now, the same cannot be said about songs in other languages; there seemed to be a HUGE selection for songs in other languages. They did have food and beverage you could order. I didn't partake in any but people in my group seemed to enjoy their drinks. Fun place - I went herer with a small group a short while ago. I only have one other place ot compare it to and I would say it was better in some ways and not as good in others. First - The music and sound system sounded great and htere was a decent selection of songs to embarrass yourself with but its all in fun. The only reason I would give it less than 5 stars is because the service was a little weak.... "I'm thirsty here????" and limited on drinks beyond just beer. Things were spiraling out of control quickly in Room #1. A total of 19 people were spread out across the large double room. One off-hand Girls vs. Guys challenge several years back still resonated to this day, and without any planning, intention nor design, all the women had seated themselves in one half of the room while the guys took up the remainder. Claps, screams and cheers of encouragement came from both sides as our champions stood up to face each other. You see, MJ's "Thriller" had begun playing, and a dance battle between those timeless rivals of men and women was about to begin. Three hours earlier, we had been gathered in a local izakaya in Tustin. Not even vaguely tipsy after seemingly bottomless beers, we headed over to Plush to keep the party going. (Another reason we were at Plush? Technically the month-old reservation.) Stepping past the front desk was It. You know what I'm talking about -- the Throne. A natural draw for anyone with a camera and a silly disposition, we had to be pulled away from it as the timer on our room began to count down. Beer rolled into our spot almost immediately, disappointingly served in the warmest of cheap plastic Chuck E. Cheese pitchers. After the ice core Kirin pitchers we had used at dinner, this was an unfortunate step down in the drink department. Crowds gathered around the two song binders while a pair sat befuddled looking at the Korean-labeled remote control that resembled a space shuttle part more than a device that would play Miley Cyrus. "They don't have 'Party in the U.S.A.!'" someone declared in mock disapproval. Jeers rang out across the room. "Psssssh! I'm outta here!" a person on my right yelled back. Our waitress, still in the room, politely asked to borrow the binder for a second and almost immediately found the song played coast to coast across our great land on May 2, 2011. Fists literally pumped into the air in celebration. (One major, and nearly unforgivable, omission from the song list however: Kenny Loggins "Danger Zone.") Two hours later, our voices hoarse from screaming (not so much from singing), the lights in the room turned up as a signal to move on to the next event of the night. The guys vs. girls dance off for once ended without lingering animosity, probably a first for our group. That alone made this trip to Plush a memorable one. read more

Cheating customer by silently add 15% service to the bill without written or verbal disclosure when present at cashier desk. They just told us the total amount without itemized receipt then hand out their iPad with choices of tips. I didn't realize service fee was already included so I chose 15% tip until I read my little credit slip when I went home. They just basically explained how their karaoke system work & brought us drinks. Their karaoke system was old so we couldn't adjust the sounds. We all didn't think their services worth it. $63 total plus 15% service fee $10 then we paid another 15% tips of $12 on top of $63 so we paid almost 34% of tips for normal service. I think most customers don't know they are cheated because not everyone care to read their receipts. It's another smart way of making money. I hope people read my reviews so they will not be cheated. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT EAT THE POPCORN CHICKEN! GAVE EVERYONE FOOD POISONING! More on that in a minute, but first... We came here because a friend from out of town was visiting. Every time we went to see her we tried to find Karaoke but to no avail. This was her last trip to see us so we made a big effort fo find a place that had karaoke and drinks, which landed us here. The thing that made this place get its only star is that the service here was good and they had a large variety of tracks. The problems with this place are many. 1) The background of the karaoke doesn't make any sense and is sometimes disturbing. 2) The "drinks" are cheap beer at a high mock up. 3) THE POPCORN CHICKEN GAVE EVERYONE FOOD POISONING! We had been having a wild and rowdy night up until the karaoke. Once there we were still riding a good drunk and wanted to get some food with our drinks. We got onions rings (which were soggy and gross) and popcorn chicken. I took one bite of the chicken and decided no more for me. Three of my friends though went hog wild with the stuff. About 15 minutes before the session ended one of my friends was not looking so hot so I took him home. Once we got home he proceeded to throw up his life. I thought it was because he had wayyyyyy to much to drink. Well the next morning our friend from out of town spends the majority of her time on the toilet with some really bad intestinal issues. My other friend was at home and had spent the night throwing and going. I know it wasn't the amount drank because I had kept up with them all during the night, I might have even had more then them, and I was fine. The difference was that anyone who had a large amount of the popcorn chicken was either throwing, pooping, or holding a bucket in front of their faces while they sat on the toilet. So I consider myself quite the karaoke connoisseur and plush karaoke is definitely a nice venue. However, the song choice and service is crappy. First off, the books here read "ziller" or the karaoke place in Fullerton. Talk about lazy... Furthermore, the song list hasn't seem like it's been it's been updated for half a year. Yep, that's a lot of missing songs. I guess this place would be great if I sang Chinese and Korean songs but the English song selection is pretty limited. Additionally, the waiters slipped in some items that we didn't ordered and charged us for it, even though no one ordered the drinks... Moreover, the waiters refused to admit fault and was rude to us until I decided to just foot the bill myself. The parking situation here sucks as well and the rooms here are pricier than Ziller in Fullerton. Overall, it's a solid karaoke place; however, if I was in the OC, I'd rather go to Zillers. read more

So much fun. We came here after eating at Tokyo Table. While the prices are more expensive than your usual asian karaoke place, it's worth it because everything is modern and quality. We had a large room and sang our hearts at for four hours. Large selection of English songs and we rocked some of our favorites including blackstreet, mariah, destiny's child, and many more old and new songs. They serve beer, pitchers are 15 I think. We spent three hours in the large room with two pitchers of beer and it came out to under $220. Once again not the cheapest but you are paying to better quality. read more

Instead of writing a review, here are parts of the complaint letter I just wrote to the owner of Plush. "I am writing you to issue a formal complaint about your business. At 7 p.m. on Saturday March 19, we called Plush to ask if there were any small rooms available for 2 people. We were told we would be put on the waitlist and the wait would be one hour and they would call us when the room is ready. We came back after more than one hour had passed to find out that a room was still not available. We asked when the room might be ready and your staff told us they don't know. We continued to wait and check up with your staff multiple times who continued to tell us they don't know. They also informed us that if a medium room opens up, we will have to pay for medium room rates. Please note that the last time we went to Plush, we were told that a group of 4 of us could get the medium room, even though we asked for a small room, and pay for small room rates. Also, please note that when the 4 of us walked in and asked for a small room, we were asked if we had reservations. However, when we called to try to make reservations for a small room on Saturday, we were told you don't take reservations for small rooms. Where is the consistency? After waiting over 2.5 hours, I asked the girl at the desk how much longer we would have to wait. She, again, told me she doesn't know. I was very upset at this point because not only had we patiently waited so long for a room when we easily could have gone to another karaoke studio, our questions were not being answered. She told me that there is no way of telling us how much longer we would have to wait because customers can sing for how long they want. This is not an acceptable or helpful answer. If we were told that the wait would be one hour, we expect a similar answer if we ask how much longer we would have to wait. We were essentially lied to when we initially called for a room and not given any answers thereafter. If your staff give us an estimate of one hour, we don't understand why we don't get an estimate past the one hour. The last time us group of 4 told your staff we would sing for 1 hour, they checked on us after 1 hour and asked if we were staying longer. Why would your staff ask me how much longer we are staying if we can sing for however long we want? Again, where is the consistency? I asked the girl at the desk how long the other groups have been singing and it was at that point I realized I wasn't going to get a room because 2 people in the small room were singing for over 4 hours. I asked her if she could at least find out how much longer they are going to stay but she said it doesn't matter if she asks them because they can stay for how long they want. I was so upset at this point that I left and I am now writing this letter to you. Your staff was not at all rude to us, but being nice does not necessarily mean you are providing good customer service. Customer service means providing helpful answers. "I don't know" is not an acceptable answer when customers' times are being wasted especially on a Saturday night. If a group is allowed to sing for however long they want, other customers cannot sing and you've lost their business. If the same group who was allowed to sing as long as they wanted came back to find out they cannot sing for another 4 hours, you have lost more business. I understand it's difficult to determine how long a customer will have to wait, but I have never been told "I don't know" so many times. I may not be the expert, but this is how I see it. You have lost my business and the business of all of my friends and colleagues." Sorry, it's a tad long, but I was super pissed about what happened. I'm never going back here. The staff aren't helpful, the song selection sucks for us English speaking folk, and your bathrooms are always smelly. I was planning on reserving a room this weekend for a huge group for my birthday, but nope, not after this. I'm going to SHOUT KARAOKE in Tustin instead. I would rather drive to ELVIS!? in Fountain Valley then come here. I HATE the answer "I don't know." HATE IT. In the words of Master Yoda: "Do or do not. There is no try." The management is horrible. We arrived at 8:00pm and I gave them my cell phone number so they could text me when they had an open room. So we decided to have desert at the balcony. So then I call at 9:23pm to find out the status. Then she tells me on the phone that they are still waiting for an open room. Then we head to the place because it's 10:00pm. I then speak to the same person that I spoke to on the phone and she tells me she texted me but they incorrectly entered my cell phone number incorrectly so I never received any notification. we were just snooping around to check out this new karaoke place (not a bar- the real karaoke, where you get your own rooms) which is on the 2nd floor at the jamboree diamond plaza. and somehow we ended up taking a tour inside the whole place!!! this really nice gentleman showed us every room they had, so here i am, sharing with everyone else. if this lounge was a hotel, it's like a 5 star hotel. each room has a flat screen tv, a touch screen tv on the side to choose your songs, the smallest room ($30/hr 3-5ppl) is so spacious so the bigger ones as u can understand is huge, there are so many rooms, everything is so modern, and get this, they serve alcohol! beer to be specific, but that makes everyone's karaoke experience better. read more

We booked for a small room because we had four people going and the waitress lied to us saying they were only medium and large rooms available. And when we did went into the medium they gave a microphone that didn't work and then asked us to another room, which is a smaller room. But we were charged for a medium price. I don't get how we had a reservation at a certain time, and we checked in before our reservation time to make sure everything was ok. They gave our room away. So we had to upgrade to a larger room, built to accommodate 8 people, when we only had 4. Obviously reservations mean nothing and we had to pay way more than we should have. Also, their customer service SUCKS. You will stand there like an idiot for a very long time without anyone acknowledging you, which really bothers me. So you will PAY for the time you are standing there waiting to leave as well. EVERYTHING is in Korean there so we had technical difficulties for about 10 minutes, which we were still charged for. You have to leave your room for just about anything that you need, which is really REALLY annoying. Also, the guys will pop into the rooms without knocking or anything whenever they need to check something with lights or AC-- ANNOYING. Song selections were not up to date-- and a lot of karaoke classics are missing. The only good thing here are the drink prices. If I'm just in the area I'll come again-- otherwise I wouldn't fight for parking in this CRAZY parking lot/structure and deal with poor customer service. read more

The staff found out it was my birthday and they hooked it up w/ a discount. Three of the four mics weren't working most of the night, we let 'em know, and they gave us another discount. I'm sorry, Plush. In spite of all of your updated technology - nice new karaoke systems and wireless mics - I just really wasn't that impressed with your sound system. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but when I go to sing at a NRB, I like to live a lie for the time I'm there. And that lie would be - I am the world's best singer. And in order for me to live this short-lived lie, your sound system needs to be on point, especially with the volume of my mic (needs to be loud) and the echo. The last time I went here, my sister and I were practically yelling/singing into the mics cause we could barely hear ourselves. And on top of that, one of our mics kept cutting out while we were singing. So yes, sorry, Plush, but I think I will go live my lie at Shout Karaoke in Tustin instead. read more

We were there from 11:18 to 12:39 in a medium room. So that would be 1hr and 30min to be generous minus 15 min should be 1hr 15min. If you do the math $45 + $11.25. They charged us 45+25.. TRUE RATING: 0/5 WORST ESTABLISHMENT EVER. Bottom Line: I won't use the strong "R" word, but if you are a Non-Asian, good luck getting into this place. I'm reviewing this a year after it happened because it still disturbs me: We were a group of 4 karaoke-loving friends visiting Plush on a SLOW Wednesday night. They told us the wait would be 45 minutes. During this time they let 5 other group walk-ins before us. We asked them about it and they continued to keep saying, there would still be a wait for us, but from their tone and attitude, it seemed as though they didn't care to have us there. 2 hours went by (more than 2x the said wait time), and they take an additional walk-in group, while we sat there. After years of not seeing my friends, we wanted to reunite over karaoke, but it was a school night and after all that wasted time had to just end the evening and say our goodbyes. Can you imagine the disappointment :'( All that got in before us were Asian...Now tell me, how would YOU feel if you were in our shoes ??? read more

We have hosted several events here and always have a great time! They have different sized rooms that can accommodate several sizes of groups at reasonable rates. That also serve food and while it's not probably very high quality, it goes with the atmosphere of silly songs and videos. We've hosted birthdays for tweens to 30-somethings and everything works out great. I will say that the staff isn't especially efficient, but they are genuinely nice and are always trying. The videos that play with the songs are ridiculous, the selection is somewhat random but will keep the crowd going for awhile, and sometimes this scoring game functions so it's fun to see what the computer rates each person. The rooms are private and it really is a great place to enjoy loud music, loud conversation, and beer/junk food with the people you actually like! read more

I came here the other day after Tokyo Table and thought this was a really nice hotel. I mean the style and decor is really nice and modern for a karaoke joint. I'm not a singer, so I just wanted to drink, watch, and chill with my friends. We stayed in room 11 which was great becasue it was just a few steps away from the mens restroom. The room was hooked up. It had a big screen, a touch screen music selection monitor, and leather sofas. You and your friends can totally rock your hearts out in there. There is a drink minimum and I'm not sure what the rates were. One pitcher of beer covers 5 people for the minimum. They also have tambourines at the front desk that you can borrow. Overall, it was fun and wouldn't mind going back there with a I-don't-care-how-I-sound-like-because-I-still-rock kind of crowd. read more

We came here with a group of 15 people, most of us not big karaoke fans and first time here. They set you up in one of these rooms with a big TV, a remote to search for songs and a few pitchers of beer (OK, we bought those ourselves). It's a lot of fun for about half an hour, and another half an hour after the beer kicks in! The WORST service and experience I've got in this country! The staffs are really rude and even the securities are really offensive, especially the girl called Maggie. She thinks it is proper to say bad words to her customers if her customers blocked her way and didn't respond after she said excuse me. The lounge was crowded and it was really loud ATM. When we tried to get an apology from her, she hides away and asked the male service guy to talk to us. The guy was pretty polite and wanted to apologize for her but we wanted the apology from herself. Then she came out with a shitty face and started to say it was our fault not hearing her saying "excuse me" and her bad words were not aimed at us. YES, YOU CAN SAY IT OUT THE BAD WORDS AND STILL SAY I DIDN'T AIM AT YOU, IT WAS NOBODY. After we argued for 15 more min, the security started to be offensive physically. He tried to push one of our friend out really rudely and then we decided to call the police. The security doesn't give a F and even want us to call the police but THE MAGGIE finally apologized unwillingly and loudly, "OK, FINE! IM SORRY! JUST LEAVE, JUST GO! OK? JUST GO!" And then we left with full of anger. We are never going back to that place and I suggest you don't go either. Not worthy to go there to get such a bad service. BTW, they force you to pay 15% service fee and you can't even refuse it when you get bad service, COOL. Also they are racists, be careful. read more

Overall, I give Plush a 3 star rating because although the experience is unforgettable, their service is not the best. The mozzarella sticks and sweet potato fries are very tasty but sometimes they are out of their food items. One time they gave us fish sticks rather than mozzarella sticks and did not inform us of the fact that they ran out of mozzarella. I was not a big fan of the taste of the seasoned fries either. The rooms are very comfy and their deals are reasonable, however, they lock you into a deal before you realize how much time you spend there. On average, I spend about 2 hours each time and I find myself wishing that I could stay longer. There are a plethora of song choices but they are in need of an update for songs. I definitely recommend going to Plush with a group of friends/family because the experience is truly priceless but maybe eat out before you go. read more

Worst. Noraebang. Ever. Seriously, you could do better at home with a 1990-era karaoke machine and some Music Minus One tapes. Or the unironically 70s lounge at the Corbin Bowl in Tarzana. At least they have a full license. All they have at Plush is beer -- Bud Light ("how is Bud Light like having sex in a boat?" "it's $&@#ing close to water.") and Kirin, plus Hite and Stella in bottles. No wine, no sake, no soju, no liquor. They have some snacks for sale but there are no anju (free snacks which get fancier as you spend more on liquor). The song choice is awful and some don't have their words. It's like someone decided to pick a few bands that were popular between about 1990 and 2004, but none of the songs that actually made them popular. Add to this a fixed stand entry system (no books, though, which is nice) that has a picky touchscreen and uncaring service from the staff (private rooms should have a service button so you don't have to chase down the server who is gossiping with her friends outside) and you might have a better time singing drunkenly in the insane, no-valet parking lot. Two mics died in three hours, too. And the videos looked like foreign language instructional films from 1989, except the one for Bohemian Rhapsody, which was simply the funniest video I've ever seen. I'll give them this: it's clean and in good repair, and not too bad a crowd. It is Irvine, so it's bound to be a less rowdy crowd than in the 714 or K-town. To the 11 people who gave this a 4 or 5 star review: you need to get to Garden Grove or LA Koreatown to see how a good noraebang place is run, because this was just terrible. read more

Got the special via dealperk (it's merged to Screamin Daily Deals now) and was interested in checking out this spot since my default karaoke place in Orange County is Elvis (one day will check out that noraebang spot that yelpers love). So all last week I tried calling when it's normal business hours, no one picks up and to top it off their voicemail doesn't work so I couldn't leave a message if I wanted to. Then when the voicemail finally works, I leave a message and no response. So I even visit their website to send them message. No response. (Freakin' A.) So decide to finally just show up since my deal was about to expire. We go on a Sunday, which was also happy hour time, and they only had a small room available but with no touch screen. We were fine but with happy hour there is a drink minimum. The drinks are ok; I got the hot milk green tea, which was okay, it tasted like one of those packaged drinks. Do like the fact that they serve Taiwanese beer but that's cuz I'm biased. The song selection was just okay, it was not as expansive as I was hoping it to be. There was only one book and they only had listed by songs and not by artist, which sucked since at Elvis they have both. Luckily, one of the gals I was with was Korean American so could read a few of the words on the actual karaoke machine (it's all in Korean) but the staff realized an hour later and brought a paper with English translations. I was hoping for cheesy videos to go with the music or the actual videos (which usually are cheesy too) but there's an option of different types of backgrounds, all Korean focused (though one of the staff had mentioned one of the backgrounds can be a bit "adult" we didn't find that one nor did we really care to). We started with the animation background but moved to Korean concerts and got a few nice cheesy vids but there is one vid that is straight messed up with Koreans in blackface, its offensive. THEY REALLY need to take that out of their selection and anything like that. Racist videos are a BAD THING. Also the color was really messed up on our TV and everyone looked like aliens with their green skin. One friend wanted to sing Mandarin songs but they were all in simplified form and not traditional form (complete BS and a big nono for this Taiwanese gal...Hello Orange County, most folks read traditional here). Apparently only the touchscreen rooms had the options of changing different language, which I found rather lame, since all the rooms should have pretty much the same options with the exception of size of the room. The rooms are nicer than Elvis but it's freezing in there, so a parka or snuggie might be good. Plush is an okay spot but I prefer the bigger song selection at Elvis. read more
