My photography skills don't capture it, but this might have been the most picture perfect classic breakfast I've ever been served. It can't be an easy feat to make this plate with no greens or color to look pretty, but somehow they did. The sunny side up eggs were perfect, the hash browns were perfect, it was all pretty perfect...looking and tasting. And orange juice was fresh squeezed sunshine (I do wish though that it was served in a sparkling juice glass rather than the totally unnecessary single-use plastic cup). I also really appreciate that they offer chicken sausage as an option for those of us who don't consume pork. The patio was tidy and sparkly, which did not go unnoticed by me! Super appreciate. I only wish that they offered table service that includes a server who takes your order at the table, and who reliably provides a stream of coffee refills. Instead you order at the counter and get a number on a stick, and hope that someone walking by could kindly do you a favor; I prefer an assigned server to be more invested in tending to your needs. Ultimately, I love that they: use higher quality ingredients (Vital Farms and Mary's free-range chicken), offer a thoughtful menu, care about presentation, and prioritize cleanliness. I've visited this location twice already and I must say I'm a fan. My first visit was on a Sunday afternoon. It was crowded and we had to waitlist. My second visit was on a random weekday morning. I have to say I prefer dining here during the week. It's less hectic and more of a relaxing vibe. It's a place where you order the food at the cashier and they bring food to you with minimal service. The interior was small but they also offer outside seating. I had the veggie scramble and the morning scramble. Both were really good! They have a way of making magic with simple ingredients. The food came out way better than the menu described it. Oh and I tried their pancakes. It was perfection - not runny in the middle or overcooked and dry. Their coffee was pretty good too. We were looking for a new brunch spot and I think we found a new hit. This place was a little out of the way but well worth it. The service here was very nice and welcoming they let us sit down to have time to explore the menu because it was our first time there. We ordered the birria Benedict, chicken and waffles, and a classic waffle as well the Benedict was very good and the heat and spicy from the meat complemented the Hollandaise very well it's was punchy and had a nice balance. The chicken and waffles were also very good with a sweet syrup and savory gravy to go with it also but waffles were light and crunchy. Both were sweet but not overpowering. My first visit to this up-and-coming chain did not meet with expectations. The eggs benedict was lackluster, especially the sauce (which was so minimal at first that we had to request more). The absence of fountain sodas is a huge issue for me at breakfast time, so I deducted one star for that reason (especially as the person taking our order hated being asked about their drink options). I also didn't appreciate the fries coming out ice cold, and likewise we had to unfortunately request hot fries. It wasn't busy, maybe 10% of the restaurant (including the outside) was occupied. Just wasn't what we were looking for. However there is room for improvement, and I'd consider a second visit in the future. read more

Easy check in with the host and ordering with cashier at the front. Line moved fast. Didn't realize they'd ask for payment and tip before service. I tipped 20% expecting service that matched the design of the restaurant and buzzy, crowded atmosphere. Sadly, it wasn't. The once the food was dropped off, we never heard from a server again. Was a challenge and a wait to request to go boxes at the end of our meal. Water in those sleek glass bottles was brought very fast. Food was brought fairly quick also. My cobb salad was delicious and unique. The salad greens were already dressed with what tasted more balsamic like than typical ranch dressing served with cobb salad. Nice touch. The boiled egg had a soft runny yolk. I'm not a fan of those. Didn't really have a dish to put it in so just kinda pushed it around the large bowl as I ate the generous portion of salad. Daughter enjoyed the classic breakfast. Said the hash browns, bacon, and eggs were tasty. I wish I'd heard the cashier over the noise in the restaurant because I asked if the pear lemonade was pink or yellow because I don't care for pink lemonade. She must've said "it's pink", but I mistakenly heard "it's pear" lol. So, I was shocked when the pick lemonade arrived, but while I didn't enjoy it, it wasn't the worst pink lemonade I've ever had. Glad they educated me that pink lemonade is pear lemonade. First time I've seen it referenced that way. Won't order that again. Just not a fan of it. May return in the future. We stopped in here yesterday (Friday) for brunch around noon. My husband got the crispy chicken sandwich with fries and he enjoyed it. It was a very big portion of chicken. I tried the egg sandwich-which was also very good. Mine came with hash browns. I usually love hash browns but these were more like potato cakes-super soft and mushy on the inside and a little crunchy on the outside...I am not a fan because for me hash browns should be crispy. I did like how they bring glasses and a bottle of water for each table which is nice for a fast casual place. Nice brunch place, too bad we couldn't make a reservation but I guess that's true for many brunch places. So we just tried to come later, put our name down and walked around the plaza for steps. As we finished our lap about 15 minutes we were able to get seated. We have to order the food at the counter first before we get seated, so that may be one of the downside we didn't really like. The menu was big, and on a Sunday I kinda want to take my time looking at the menu sitting down instead of feeling rushed to order right away at the counter. I wished I had known this before so I could have used the 15 minutes walking and waiting time to look at the menu and decide what I wanna order. So just a suggestion, while you wait, check out the menu first so as soon as your name is called they walk you in to the counter and you will have to order right away. Staff is very friendly and I appreciate that they check on you a good amount of times during your meal. I love the food here that it's consistent with their Irvine location. Chilaquiles rojos is my go to meal 11/10 stars! I love that it comes with toppings such as avocado, radishes, cilantro, and cotija cheese. The blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes are a good amount of sweetness which is balanced well with the citrus of the lemon. I love their Dulce de leche coffee. The only little thing I would say that the size is quite small if you get it to go. My bf loves any of the egg benedicts from here as well. After seeing so many positive reviews about Poached, we decided to stop by for brunch on Sunday. The place was busy but finding an open table wasn't an issue. The place is gorgeous inside with a large outdoor patio. We ordered a Breakfast Burrito and Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Cakes. The burrito was delicious and hearty. I love the serrano aioli in the burrito and the salsa roja that came with it. The Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Cakes were surprisingly light and airy. I'd never had ricotta in pancakes before so I was curious how these would be and they were pleasantly delicious. For drinks, my boyfriend got a strawberry matcha and I got orange juice. The OJ was definitely fresh squeezed. My bf said the strawberry matcha was good, but the matcha quality wasn't the best. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal. This is my first time at Poached. I will say the food was great although the French toast was really difficult to cut in to. I ordered my food at the counter and sat near the bar area. My food was served without utensils and napkins. I would get up a couple times to request new utensils and water. There was not much staff interactions because it was an hour before closing. I recommend to come earlier maybe my experience would have been different. This a family friendly environment. You definitely get what you paid for! read more

So the way this place works is you put your name down with the hostess, and when they call your name, they assign you a table number, you order at the counter and tell them your table number, then you go sit down and wait for your food. My friend and I decided on the Poached Pear French Toast and the Omelet a la Grecque, as well as the Dulce de Leche and Pumpkin spice latte for our drinks. We went during lunch so we missed the busy brunch crowd, but for some reason we still had to remind the staff about our order. Our food came first but they didn't bring our side of sausages. Luckily my friend kept her paper receipt and showed the server as proof that it was already paid for. Our coffees didn't come until we flagged someone down and asked about the status of our drinks. The coffees and the omelet was great, but the French toast was not. I liked the flavor combination for sure, but the bread was so hard and neither of us could cut through the crust of the bread. I was shaking the table so much trying to cut the toast that it was embarrassing. I should've gone with the blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes, I saw several people order that and they looked AMAZING. Party of 6 and they got us in relatively quickly around 11 am (with a 20-25 min wait). Their casual approach helps as your entire party doesn't have to be present then and there. You order at the counter and choose togo- or your table, and they bring everything out. We surmised that they just didn't have enough room/staff to take orders at the table & pay us out. They were all very attentive, refilling coffee, water bottles, clearing plates, giving us to-go containers. It was very helpful. I wish your chai latte had a stronger taste. This place is absolutely amazing. My favorite breakfast place. I'm literally here almost every weekend with my husband and two kids. I bring my extended family here and friends. I first found it through the Irvine location where I also brought everyone I know. I am so happy they opened this location cause it's so much closer and we love it. Great food. Everything is so fresh and delicious. It's also fast, which is great for kids. The men who work here always have good attitudes. Sometimes the women have RBF but thats ok, the food is worth it. Extremely clean too! The bathrooms are always immaculate which is so nice when you have to change a diaper. Kid friendly. I'd give this place 100 stars if I could. read more

First time coming to Poached Kitchen yesterday and it did not disappoint! Located in a shopping center on the corner of Imperial Hwy and Santa Ana Canyon, it's easy to spot from the street, but if you're not familiar with the center, I'd recommend using your navigation system to get to their door. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the 2 young women taking orders at the registers. Since it was our first visit, they were very patient while we perused the menu board and were happy to share what their best sellers are. We placed our orders and were given a number to take to the table for our food t be brought to us. On a side note, we were surprised and somewhat disappointed to learn that they do not take cash payments. The restaurant itself is nicely laid out and has a welcoming and comfortable feel for both inside and outside dining. Today, the short ribs were both calling both our names. My friend chose the Short Ribs Benedict and thoroughly enjoyed it. She commented that poaching perfect eggs is an acquired skill and the chef nailed it! I chose the Short Ribs Omelette ~ the ribs were SO tender! We both chose fresh fruit for our sides and that truly rounded out our meals perfectly. For beverages, we ordered water and coffee. They offered the choice of regular or sparkling water and brought out a good sized chilled bottle for us to be able to refill our cups as desired. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the coffee. I'm usually not a fan of strong coffee, but although it was strong, it wasn't bitter. They do have staff that keeps an eye on the dining room, checking with diners to get drink refills and asking how our food is. Today Edgar stopped by our table the most and was super friendly and gave excellent service. The whole experience was great! They have GREAT interaction amongst workers, chatting with one another, and they are very social amongst each other. I had the Classic Breakfast ($16.00) and Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice ($6.00) Food was well cooked, tasted fresh, this is my 1st visit, so I wont say much about it, but I will say it was not an elevated food experience. Simple cooking with normal flavors. I will comment that the OJ was wonderful, a small cup for $6.00 was worth it. This is a new restaurant therefore everything looks new and modern.
