While the food itself was fine, the service made for an unpleasant experience. This establishment has a stated 90-minute seating policy, yet we were pressured to leave well before that time was up. To make matters worse, the staff began clearing our plates and cleaning the table while we were still actively sitting there and finishing our conversation. It felt incredibly rushed and disrespectful to be treated like an inconvenience rather than a customer. When they came around, we asked about the policy and they stated it was 90 minutes and we checked the time we were sat and there would've been at least another 20 minutes but they still asked us leave. There's an open air patio and an indoor area. Very spacious, but loud. Maybe coz I had a very vocal toddler sitting right next to me. Anyway. Loud. On to the foods. We had the chicken and waffles and steak and eggs. Pretty average fare. I think 32 bucks was a bit much for the steak and eggs. The better topping was ok. The staff were sooo attentive and friendly. And can we talk about wait time?!?! Our food came out so quickly it shocked us! Hadn't even finished fixing my coffee, lol. If you're looking for Gluten Free offerings, those are available as well as vegan. Also, the restaurant was wheelchair friendly, including the bathrooms. Definitely impressed and will return. Yes, it's extremely pricey, but everything is these days, so I was willing to look past that because the food is actually pretty good. What I can't look past is the service at the register and the coffee. This is one of those places where you order everything at the register before you sit down. While we were ordering, it was loud and I genuinely couldn't hear her. When I politely asked her to repeat herself, the girl at the register seemed visibly annoyed, like I was inconveniencing her just by trying to understand the order. Not a great start. Then came the Vietnamese iced coffee -- stay away. I'm pretty sure this is just how they serve all their iced coffee, so consider this a warning. It was $7 and came out in a tiny glass with a ton of ice, so what I got was basically one sip. For that price, it felt like a total rip-off. I can't believe I'm saying this, but you get way more value at Starbucks. It's honestly comical that a place can be less value than Starbucks. I went recently with my friends for brunch however the food was lacking this time around. The chorizo breakfast burrito was super oily.. Even when the burrito first came out, you can see the oil spilling out of the burrito.. The salmon toast was fluffy in the middle, soggy in some areas, and not at all toasted, which wasn't expected. Overall service was good as they had plenty of staff. They're being said I still had to get attention for more of my "bottomless" coffee. I searched and searched in the area, and either they were overpriced elsewhere, had way too much sauce in the pictures, or didn't like the seating. Poached nailed it for everything I was looking for. The way it's set up, with an interior that opens to outside so we don't feel closed in made it a comfy place to be! Then the eggs Benedict itself was just the right size, with great flavor and even the country fried potatoes tasted better than other spots. The dulce de leche latte had a flavor of cinnamon in it and was not super sweet, so it hit the spot. A great breakfast spot in Anaheim Hills - I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 as our experience with the service was just satisfactory, but the food was delicious. We came on a Friday mid-morning and there was no line at the counter where we went to order our food. I subtracted one star because service was just okay. We decided to order the "Short Rib Benedict" ($19), the "Ricotta Cakes" ($17), a "Breakfast Burrito" ($16), along with a "Dulce de Leche Latte" ($6.50). The worker at the front seemed unfriendly and quite distracted as she asked us to repeat our order 3 times and initially repeated our order back to us incorrectly. Additionally, while we ordered the "Short Rib Benedict", we found out afterwards that they were out of the Korean short ribs and instead only had a "Birria Benedict" so we settled for that instead but it would have been nice to have known that sooner. Our food arrived in a timely manner in under 10 minutes and I was excited to dig in. My favorite dish of the 3 was the Ricotta Cakes which were fluffy and delicious. I loved the blueberry compote it came with and enjoyed it so much, I was left wishing there was more. The Benedict was solid but the real star of the dish was the hash browns which were perfectly crispy and buttery. The only dish of the three that I was a bit disappointed with was the breakfast burrito. It seemed pretty small for the $16 price tag especially because it didn't come with any additional side and was just the burrito itself which was standard at best. The ambiance of the restaurant felt clean and modern and I liked how Poached Kitchen had both indoor and outdoor seating available. While the restaurant is a relatively decent size, it can get pretty crowded. As Poached Kitchen is located in a strip mall, we were able to find parking relatively quickly. read more

Went on Fathers Day with my two kids ages 11 and 4. Had to wait about 30 minutes which wasn't bad at all given that it was Fathers Day. We were able to get to our table very easily given the crowded restaurant. Overall the place was very warm and welcoming. My kids had fun looking at the restaurant and had servers to our table quickly with drinks. Food came out pretty quick as well!! I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes which had a very good lemon flavor! With the sun out, the restaurant has a relaxing vibe despite how crowded the place was on a Sunday morning. I ordered the bottomless drip coffee to pair with the Ricotta Cakes. My coffee came to my table first, and I immediately regretted ordering it after my first sip. The coffee was overly bitter and tasted burnt. The cream was not enough to salvage the taste. On a positive note, the service staff was good as they were observant of my cup and automatically poured more coffee whenever the cup was near empty. The Ricotta Pancakes were beautiful. On top of 3 big cakes was a layer of blueberry compote and a layer of lemon whipped cream and lemon zest. The cakes were nice and fluffy without being too sweet. The cakes also remained firm despite the layers on top while I was eating. The blueberry and lemon combination brought in a refreshingly sweet and tart flavor profile. As a recommendation, do not immediately pour the syrup over the cakes as the syrup will make the cakes soggy. When we walked in, the lady at the front barely said anything and just told us to sit at table one. She didn't show us where it was or explain how anything worked. We were left wandering around trying to figure it out, and she seemed annoyed when we asked questions. After we finally sat down, we waited for about 15 minutes, thinking someone would come take our order. No one did. We just sat there feeling awkward and confused until we finally went up to ask, and only then were we told that we were supposed to order at the front the whole time. I was alittle thrown off that they would put a poached egg in it. The soda selection is very lack there of. Only Sprite & Coke.. very odd. They have limited seating. Seems more outside under the awning than inside. One thing I noticed was that the food comes out QUICK. You put ur name in, then get in line to order. When u reach ur table the food came out. The positives first: the hollandaise was spot on -- creamy, tangy, and rich without being heavy -- and the hashbrowns were excellent, crispy and golden on the outside with a fluffy middle. The salmon, though, was a letdown. It was so intensely smoky and salty that it overpowered the eggs and hollandaise rather than balancing with them. On top of that, I found a large fish bone in my portion, which made it tough to enjoy and hard to eat with confidence. Overall, I'd come back for the hashbrowns and maybe try a different Benedict, but I wouldn't order the salmon again. Nice ambiance. The red flag here is that ask for a tip before the service they give you. They do come serve your food but they don't come as often around to get our refills. After we were done eating, they stopped coming around, and we wanted our drinks refilled since we paid for them to be endless (coffee and peach ice tea). This has been our "go to" breakfast spot since it opened. Not sure what's going on with it, but something has changed. We went back for breakfast and selected the salmon Benedict and the chile verde benedict. Both with hash browns. Poached always had the best hash browns. Seasoned and crispy. Unfortunately, they've changed to hash browns that were bland and unseasoned. They were just "meh". My Chile verde Benedict was excellent, full of flavor, some spice, nice chunks of tender pork and poached eggs cooked perfectly. My wife's salmon Benedict wasn't as good as we had previously at Poached. They may have changed the salmon used as she reported that the salmon wasn't as Smokey and flavorful as we'd remembered. Also the poached eggs were not the "medium" requested as parts of the whites were a bit runny. All in all a good breakfast but a bit concerning in these new degradations.
