I asked are you closed or do you close at 2;00 as advertised ?? They said well we're kinda closed but might be able to do a Togo order. Well. Came here for a weekday brunch. The place was surprisingly packed for the day of the week. Luckily, we were able to grab ourselves a table able after ordering at the counter. The place has a nice casual vibe and the staff did a great job at keeping the tables clean. We got a mimosa flight to drink and cherry french toast and NY steak and eggs for entrees. Cherry French Toast- This was divine! The bread base was rich and custardy. The dish was accented with orange segments and baked apples that had a nice cinnamon flavor. It was drizzled with cherry sauce that was fresh and sweet. Finished with candied walnuts and a cream cheese whip. Great combo of flavors and textures! NY Steak and Eggs- The steak was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and juicy. We got the eggs over easy. We got sourdough toast and some delightfully crisp hashbrowns on the side. We absolutely love Poached Kitchen and come here all the time as our local breakfast spot. The food is consistently great, the vibe is lovely, and it's one of our favourite places to sit down and enjoy breakfast. The only thing that really doesn't make sense to us is the rewards programme. It appears to only apply to takeout orders, which is strange for a place that's so good for dining in. Honestly, nobody wants takeout eggs in a plastic container - this is a spot you come to sit and enjoy. We'll still keep coming back because the food is excellent, but it would be amazing to see the rewards programme extended to dine-in customers too, especially for regulars. read more

So this place is one of those: you order at the counter and pay and then they bring the meals to a table you decide to sit at. Quick and friendly service. There's an open air patio and an indoor area. Very spacious, but loud. Maybe coz I had a very vocal toddler sitting right next to me. Anyway. Loud. On to the foods. We had the chicken and waffles and steak and eggs. Pretty average fare. I think 32 bucks was a bit much for the steak and eggs. The better topping was ok. Parking is not an issue because it's a large shopping center adjacent to the 91 fwy. Love the restrooms because for one thing, the sinks are off to one side of the restrooms and there are two women's restrooms and one men restrooms...the spaces are nicely planned and comfortable. The service was excellent. A chilled water bottle and glasses at each table. The food is served very quickly and the servers are attentive and helpful. My grilled chicken sandwich was nicely seasoned and grilled perfectly. My sister avocado toast was topped with a scrambled egg with tomato/onion salsa and cheese. Yes, it's extremely pricey, but everything is these days, so I was willing to look past that because the food is actually pretty good. What I can't look past is the service at the register and the coffee. This is one of those places where you order everything at the register before you sit down. While we were ordering, it was loud and I genuinely couldn't hear her. When I politely asked her to repeat herself, the girl at the register seemed visibly annoyed, like I was inconveniencing her just by trying to understand the order. Not a great start. Then came the Vietnamese iced coffee -- stay away. I'm pretty sure this is just how they serve all their iced coffee, so consider this a warning. It was $7 and came out in a tiny glass with a ton of ice, so what I got was basically one sip. For that price, it felt like a total rip-off. I can't believe I'm saying this, but you get way more value at Starbucks. It's honestly comical that a place can be less value than Starbucks. I went recently with my friends for brunch however the food was lacking this time around. The chorizo breakfast burrito was super oily.. Even when the burrito first came out, you can see the oil spilling out of the burrito.. The salmon toast was fluffy in the middle, soggy in some areas, and not at all toasted, which wasn't expected. While the food itself was fine, the service made for an unpleasant experience. This establishment has a stated 90-minute seating policy, yet we were pressured to leave well before that time was up. To make matters worse, the staff began clearing our plates and cleaning the table while we were still actively sitting there and finishing our conversation. It felt incredibly rushed and disrespectful to be treated like an inconvenience rather than a customer. When they came around, we asked about the policy and they stated it was 90 minutes and we checked the time we were sat and there would've been at least another 20 minutes but they still asked us leave. I searched and searched in the area, and either they were overpriced elsewhere, had way too much sauce in the pictures, or didn't like the seating. Poached nailed it for everything I was looking for. A great breakfast spot in Anaheim Hills - I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 as our experience with the service was just satisfactory, but the food was delicious. We came on a Friday mid-morning and there was no line at the counter where we went to order our food. I subtracted one star because service was just okay. We decided to order the "Short Rib Benedict" ($19), the "Ricotta Cakes" ($17), a "Breakfast Burrito" ($16), along with a "Dulce de Leche Latte" ($6.50). The worker at the front seemed unfriendly and quite distracted as she asked us to repeat our order 3 times and initially repeated our order back to us incorrectly. Additionally, while we ordered the "Short Rib Benedict", we found out afterwards that they were out of the Korean short ribs and instead only had a "Birria Benedict" so we settled for that instead but it would have been nice to have known that sooner. Our food arrived in a timely manner in under 10 minutes and I was excited to dig in. My favorite dish of the 3 was the Ricotta Cakes which were fluffy and delicious. I loved the blueberry compote it came with and enjoyed it so much, I was left wishing there was more. The Benedict was solid but the real star of the dish was the hash browns which were perfectly crispy and buttery. The only dish of the three that I was a bit disappointed with was the breakfast burrito. It seemed pretty small for the $16 price tag especially because it didn't come with any additional side and was just the burrito itself which was standard at best. The ambiance of the restaurant felt clean and modern and I liked how Poached Kitchen had both indoor and outdoor seating available. While the restaurant is a relatively decent size, it can get pretty crowded. As Poached Kitchen is located in a strip mall, we were able to find parking relatively quickly. read more

Went on Fathers Day with my two kids ages 11 and 4. Had to wait about 30 minutes which wasn't bad at all given that it was Fathers Day. We were able to get to our table very easily given the crowded restaurant. Overall the place was very warm and welcoming. My kids had fun looking at the restaurant and had servers to our table quickly with drinks. Food came out pretty quick as well!! I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes which had a very good lemon flavor! With the sun out, the restaurant has a relaxing vibe despite how crowded the place was on a Sunday morning. I ordered the bottomless drip coffee to pair with the Ricotta Cakes. My coffee came to my table first, and I immediately regretted ordering it after my first sip. The coffee was overly bitter and tasted burnt. The cream was not enough to salvage the taste. On a positive note, the service staff was good as they were observant of my cup and automatically poured more coffee whenever the cup was near empty. The Ricotta Pancakes were beautiful. On top of 3 big cakes was a layer of blueberry compote and a layer of lemon whipped cream and lemon zest. The cakes were nice and fluffy without being too sweet. The cakes also remained firm despite the layers on top while I was eating. The blueberry and lemon combination brought in a refreshingly sweet and tart flavor profile. As a recommendation, do not immediately pour the syrup over the cakes as the syrup will make the cakes soggy. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would had given a 5/5, but the bad coffee lowered my score to a 4 instead. read more

Finally got to try Poached in Anaheim and wow -- it did not disappoint! The food was so great-- everything tasted fresh, was full of flavor and beautifully plated.
