My husband and I traveled all the way from the south side of Chicago to get our Pockets fix! We really miss the one that was located in Hyde Park but we were not disappointed! We got the Original Turkey Pocket and of course we had to get extra ranch because it is DELICIOUS! Everything was fresh and good. Great customer service. Clean restaurant! I have been coming to Pockets for years and have never been disappointed. With so many other places charging a lot more for their food, Pockets is definitely one of the most reasonably priced places I've been to as of late. I typically get a build your own pocket without meat or a build your own salad and you get a lot of healthy vegetables for only a little over $11.00 + a giant serving of bread and dressing. Their ranch dressing is really good too. I've also had their pizzas which are also very nice as well. Their location probably could use a bit of a renovation in terms of appearance but other than that, definitely visit Pockets if you have the opportunity to. read more

Pockets has been a favorite of mine for over 20 years! When I was living in Los Angeles it was one of the few things I missed about Chicago. I told my husband about the insanely delicious, soft bread and that addictive house ranch dressing. He didn't believe me but now he asks to order it all the time. Calzones and pocket sandwiches, what's not to like?! Inside is similar to a Subway type restaurant except they specialize in calzones and pita sandwiches. It's also very accommodating as you can build your own sandwich and make alterations where you see fit. I'd say that when I ordered a specialty pocket sandwich (I think it might have been the Popeye, not positive) - it arrived cold and I was surprised, but apparently some of the sandwiches are served cold and I just didn't catch that on the menu. Portions are big enough for two meals. My boyfriend had a calzone and I much preferred that. Now I know for next time. Just be sure to read the menu carefully so you don't get disappointed when your pocket is basically a salad on pita. No bells or whistles, but better than fast food in a jiffy! read more

We have been fans of this Pocket's location for at least 10 years. However, we ordered a bunch of food this last Saturday night, and it had hair in some of it. Yuck. We sent the salad with hair back, and they quickly replaced it, and were very apologetic it, but then I noticed that some of our dressing containers, also had hair in them. I called again, and they promised all kinds of coupons, but I got nothing. We spent about $50 on that order, and I think that they should have refunded the cost of the order, at the least. We ended up just throwing out most of the food in fear of more hairs. Gross. read more

I was running around all day, packing, moving, cleaning, and really needed to spend as little time as possible for lunch without going unhealthy. So I ran into this Pockets, and it was right at lunch time. Usually, I am alarmed when a place is completely empty at lunch, but what the heck, I'm desperate. I opted for the build your own salad option, which was simple enough, but I felt like there could be more options for vegetable ingredients. The amount of salad you get for the price is decent, though it could be bigger for that price. Also, if I'm going to eat at the restaurant, perhaps they could have spent 15 seconds tossing the salad with the dressing. Next time, even if I eat in, I'll ask for a to-go container, it'll probably make mixing it with the dressing easier. The staff was quick and I was generally happy getting my salad, eating a quick lunch, and not spending all afternoon feeling guilty about it. read more

I got Greek quinoa bowl perfectly nutritious and most importantly, truly fresh and satisfying. pockets restaurant has a wide selection of nutritious food. The price is great and the place is nice as well. The people taking orders and bringing out the food are courteous, attentive and friendly. The Greek quinoa bowl served is amazingly good. I usually get the same salad (or one of two salads) when I go here - always with the Honey Dijon which makes a huge difference in how good the meal is. For my purposes, which are eating lots of vegetables and remedying some other recent poor meal choices, this place knocks it out of the park. I always enjoy my meal, and I feel good afterward.
