I would like to thank PODS Moving & Storage for a great experience with my move from New York to Florida. Even when I needed to change the delivery date of my POD, the process was handled quickly and without any issues. I always received a delivery window by email, followed by a call from the driver letting me know he was on his way. The communication throughout the entire process was excellent. The overall price was also very reasonable and definitely less expensive than the competition. Don't use PODS if your move has a deadline or is anyway time sensitive. Scheduled and paid in advance for delivery on 9/10. 72 hours later, STILL NO container. Today alone they pushed my window back 3 times and never once called to explain. Every update came because I chased them. I've paid for services up front, zero of which have been provided 3 days after services were agreed to start. And their contract disclaims any guarantee on delivery timing, so the delay that upended my move isn't something they treat as their problem. Read other reviews, this happens so frequently, they've built lack of responsibility for basic services in their contract. If timing matters at all, book someone else. read more

Positive: The pod did a great job for moving my items on a long distance move. Price was reasonable, definitely better than some other quotes I had received. No hidden charges, so that's a plus. Not so great: Scheduling was a lot more challenging than it felt like it should have been. Once things were "set" and fully scheduled + first payments made, there were changes to pick up, travel time and delivery dates more than a half dozen times. This created a lot of challenges and extra stress and my moving pod almost didn't get delivered in time for my scheduled movers to help me unload. I'm glad I left an extra day in between! Communication after the initial phone call was not very smooth. They said "we'll send you an email the night before with the delivery/pick up time window" but then no email would arrive. It required refreshing their website to get the information, and updates weren't posted until after 9:30 pm for scheduling the next day. Then when emails did arrive on day of service, the times didn't match with what was on the website. Overall not good, not bad. Best I can say is that my stuff arrived safely and prices didn't change. POD drivers are super nice and professional, but calling the HQ office is a disaster! Yesterday we had a very stressful move - used professional movers and they couldn't fit everything in 2-16' pods. I called the main number to request an additional pod and was dropped/transferred 3 times by customer care specialists who told me they were getting error messages in their system and they never called me back after taking my number down. Finally told that they did not have any extra pods available so we were left scrambling! We spoke to a driver picking up today and he said they had pods and could have gotten us one no problem if we had his direct number(!). I scheduled a cross-country move with PODs back in March after I closed on my new house. The move was in May. I called in August to schedule delivery to my house, at which time I was informed that PODs doesn't service my new address, but I could come pick up my belongings at the warehouse 40 miles away. Apparently the agent who booked the POD substituted the closest warehouse address in order to force the sale through. It's been 2 weeks since I first called PODs about this, and multiple dispute cases have been opened, and I've also sent an email detailing the situation, and PODs has been unresponsive and unhelpful. Anytime I call, I get shuffled around and placed on hold for 30 minutes to an hour. I STILL don't have my belongings. DO NOT BOOK WITH PODS. Not only is their customer service terrible, but this is a UDAP violation and goes against consumer protections, but they don't care. read more

It was convenient to have dropped off and pack at your own pace. However, I didn't know my final address yet, and POD wouldn't deliver to my new zip code, despite there being two facilities within a 1.25 hour drive of the new address. I emptied it at the facility and cancelled the container. POD still charged me $366 for the next month, after I had cancelled it. They can't refund to PayPal, which was how my auto pay was linked, so Tuesday last week they said they sent a check via FedEx, and while they didn't have a tracking number, it's usually 3-5 business days. someone later called to confirm my mailing address. Thursday this week someone called about a balance on my account. They said the check would go out that day, and it would be 7-10 business days. Do better, PODs, and give me my money back. read more

At 10:30 I got an email saying the driver was en route -- then they rescheduled three separate times and still have not shown up. Hours of my day gone waiting on a no-show. The customer service made it worse. Every call meant an hour-plus on hold. A rep committed to calling me back at 12:15 and never did. I called again, finally got a person who said she'd pull in a supervisor, put me on hold, and after 30 minutes simply disconnected the call. From the first conversation with a CS, it was evident that they don't listen to you. Like a robot asking scripted questions. I booked the POD for a long distance move and storage. The CS booked the move without storage. The paperwork was sent back four times, and you can't communicate with anyone. I've been paying for storage for almost a year and called today to get a quote for my move fr California to Colorado. they want $14,000 to move my pod!! I spent hours trying to talk to someone on how this price can possibly be real. I was flexible withy delivery date and had quotes from uhaul and upack and still cannot understand how insane this is. This is more than professional movers, so after giving them money for storage for a year I refuse to give them more and have to go load my things into a uhaul and drive them back. I was quoted $3500 to move them a year ago. Even w fuel costs going up this is astronomical and shocking. POD was picked up from original destination May 28 from NLR, AR. I received phone call and text from POD when they delivered the POD to be filled, and when they were there to pick up. POD shipped to Riverside May 30. POD was supposed to arrive June 11. I called PODs at 1500 on June 11 and was told POD was sent back to AR. I was connected to customer service and told that my pod was shipped on May 30 and sent back to Arkansas after arriving at the California border. I was told there was a moth form that needed to be signed and that I had not signed it. I said I was not contacted about a form and they said yes we've never got a response so we sent the pod back. I said nobody called or texted me as previous communications had gone. Customer service told me correct that is not how they do things they send an email. I said I did not receive an email. He checked my account and said they had the wrong email. I told him that when I created my account I connected to my Google account and he said yes it looks like it was entered wrong on our end that it was their fault that I didn't get the form and I said given this why was I not called or texted because that's not how we do things we send an email and I said so you're saying you had the wrong email and send it and so I have no way of getting this email yet my belongings were sent back with no communication to me and I have no way of knowing. "yes that's correct." I asked, "if I hadn't called, would I have been contacted about the pod not being delivered?" I was told, "an email was sent to the incorrect email." I asked to speak to a supervisor who said the same. They entered the email wrong and that it was not their policy to call or text. I explained I had received phone calls and text previously and he said well I don't know we don't do that. He said he would resend the POD, updated email and got the virtual form virtually signed by me. He said he would waive any remainder fee, which would be just under $400. He said it would be June 22-23 delivery but would talk to the logistics people for sooner and would personally call me back the next day. I did not receive a call back. I had to pay $155 for a last-minute cancellation fee to movers as my belongings had not arrived to be unloaded. I had to find a more expensive moving company as the next available date for when my belonging should be here was not available. The next day after this phone call, I received an automated phone call verifying this form was signed and my POD would be shipped after being told that was not how things were done. Once the pod was delivered, it was delivered backwards and not easily accessible. The $400 fees were not waived. I did not receive my belongings until June 23. read more

I am in process of moving right now going across country. Pods was amazing in the beginning when I told them that my final destination would be to an apartment. The said yes no problem whatsoever. Several hours wasted on hold. I was told three different things each time I called. I had to call so much because of hiccups on my side. They also couldn't deliver to my apartment complex so I had to go rent a u-haul truck and get it from the pods storage place. then they tell me my stuff won't be able to be picked up until a later date then. planned even though they originally had planned to deliver the pod sooner. While they were moving it, and over a week late, they decided to charge us ANOTHER almost $350 storage fee (when they aren't even storing anything!!!) and refused to refund the money back. My issues began when PODS repeatedly confirmed that same-day delivery and pickup from a Public Storage location was fully supported in my area. I planned my entire move around those confirmations. On the day of the move, I was informed--far too late--that this service was not available in my location. Because the pod was required to leave that same day, I was forced into an emergency situation and had to hire a moving company and truck at the last minute just to transport my belongings to their facility. PODS later attempted to classify this as a "standard mover cost," which is simply untrue--it was a direct result of their misinformation. Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. Since then, PODS has now failed to deliver my container twice. The first failed delivery was blamed on the area not being wide enough. I took this seriously and had shrubs removed and the space widened to accommodate their requirements. It is now well past that time, the representative repeatedly insisted the driver would be there by 2:15 PM while I was trying to explain that it was past that time. When I asked to be transferred to someone who could help, her response was, "What's the point?" At that point, I ended the call. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What has been disappointing is the lack of urgency, inconsistent communication, and poor customer service. After going back and forth, I finally reached a representative who was at least honest. They told me that due to increased service requests, we have been rescheduled for Monday. This is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. Several days ago I booked a same-day drop-off and pick-up for Monday, November 3, 2015. Today, Saturday November 1, 2025 your scheduling department called to say your Los Angeles facility can no longer provide same day service and that PODS must reschedule for drop off on November 3 and pick-up November 4. With PODS, I would still be responsible for all the physical labor of packing and loading the container myself. At that point, I genuinely had to ask: What exactly is the value proposition? PODS clearly operates on a dynamic pricing model where demand and capacity influence the final price, not just distance and container size. I tried to do this internally but i was given no help, so time to do this publicly. When I called for a quote to move from Los Angeles to Sacramento I was told a price and was ok with it. I asked for an additional quote on storing the container while we purchase a home and was told a price of approximately $376 monthly and I was ok with that too. Time passed by and when the first charge for storing came, they charged me $483.95. Initially confused, I called them to complain and the agent that I spoke to apologized for the mistake and said that he indeed saw the initial $376 quote and that I will get a refund for the extra charge. About a week later I got a frustrating email that said they will not fix anything because they found nothing wrong with the price and that the case is closed. I was NEVER told recurring monthly price to be dam near $500 or I would have never agreed to keep it with this sneaky dishonest company. I need this to be resolved and made right. You find a location, that is 9 miles from the estimated delivery location. You provide that information to the company who tells you that is out of our delivery area. Mind you, this container is coming 900 some miles across the country, but they can't cover the final 9?! You reach out to them they are supposed to have a manager contact you. Selling a home and moving cross country is stressful enough as it is.. when you add on the fact that PODS made matters soo much worse... it's simply unacceptable! I have never been more displeased with customer service. I have been placed on hold all day waiting for a representative. My pod changed its delivery status three times for me to stay up to 10 at night when they said pick up was at 930 for them to email me and say my pick up was changed for the next day. The next day it then changed to 5 days later. Now my drop date is a week later without any notice. NEVER have I had to deal with a company to not follow their word more then PODS. They do not make it easy to call a representative, hours on hold and customer service that say it's due to high call volumes and proceed to put you on hold more. Highly to not recommend you trust this company with your belongings. They will not get your pods on time or efficiently nor are they helpful when you have questions. Please do not use PODS! There was no aspect of the service that was of any benefit. First, you have to get a quote before scheduling service, but I received multiple emails with different pricing, direct from PODS. I also needed multiple containers, but not all at one time. Their system was not set up for that, so you have to call an agent or chat with one. I had to wait 50 minutes to chat with an agent, they sent me a message saying hello, how can I help. I was typing my response and the agent ended the chat saying I did not respond. Time stamp was literally 1 minute apart. I have to wait almost an hour for them and they can not wait one minute? I finally got an agent and they could not understand that I wanted to add a container until I asked to speak to their supervisor. They give you notice the night before of a window, then send you several (I had up to 4) emails changing the window. really hard to plan to have movers help load or unload when you get the window less than 24 hours before. So, first POD delivered and picked up. Second POD scheduled to be delivered and I get a voicemail from a random number from another state. The driver said he could not find my house and could not deliver the POD. When I finally got an agent on the phone (after another hour wait), they could not reschedule delivery until after the closing date for the sale of my house. The agent told me the driver put in notes that it was too close to a gas line. My car was parked next to the gas meter, so they could not deliver to that area, but why did I get one POD delivered and picked up, with two different drivers, and this POD could not be delivered? I escalated because I had paid for movers to load the second POD, but had to cancel since I did not have a POD. $600 out of my pocket. They supposedly put in a claim, called me in a few days and left a message, but when I called the number, it went to a voice mail for a different person and said the mailbox was full and not taking messages. Now, final pickup of POD is scheduled, and no window is given. Agents are too busy to receive chats or calls. So let me guess, they are going to stretch this out so they can charge me another month of rental. No customer service, no recourse, not timely with delivery or pickup, nothing good to say at all. If I could have rated this in the negative, I would since they have added cost to my move due to their lack of customer service. PODS was supposed to be a good solution for my move, but it ended up costing me twice as much, several extra hours of time waiting for customer service and a ton of extra stress. Do yourself a favor and rent a truck and movers. You will have less stress and be confident you get the move completed. read more

Incredibly frustrating experience with PODS Moving & Storage (we are in northern VA). We had a container scheduled for delivery today between 2:15 pm and 5:15 pm. I received zero communication about the delivery today, so when 5:30 pm came and we still had no container, I spent an hour waiting to connect to a chat agent. The agent told us there was apparently a problem with the truck and that the new ETA would be 8:30 pm. When I asked if we would be compensated for the significant delay/lack of communication, he closed the chat without answering. I waited until 8:30 pm and we still had no container. So I wait another hour for a chat agent (the same one as before, I'm pretty sure) who tells me that the driver is still on his route but since it's past the delivery window they need to reschedule. The earliest available date is June 3rd, a full FIVE DAYS after our original delivery date. Before I could complain or escalate, he closed the chat again. The cherry on top is that I have TWO pending charges for the delivery but I can't do anything about it until I see if they both post. Absolutely terrible. Called twice to double check that the pod delivery would work and was reassured it would be fine. On the day of the scheduled delivery they called and said they couldn't actually deliver it until next week. Terrible organisation and terrible communication. Customer service tried to work with us. Not as convenient as you would think. read more

My delivery guy James was super helpful and went over and above to help me! I'd use PODS again.
