Positive: The pod did a great job for moving my items on a long distance move. Price was reasonable, definitely better than some other quotes I had received. No hidden charges, so that's a plus. Not so great: Scheduling was a lot more challenging than it felt like it should have been. Once things were "set" and fully scheduled + first payments made, there were changes to pick up, travel time and delivery dates more than a half dozen times. This created a lot of challenges and extra stress and my moving pod almost didn't get delivered in time for my scheduled movers to help me unload. I'm glad I left an extra day in between! Communication after the initial phone call was not very smooth. They said "we'll send you an email the night before with the delivery/pick up time window" but then no email would arrive. It required refreshing their website to get the information, and updates weren't posted until after 9:30 pm for scheduling the next day. Then when emails did arrive on day of service, the times didn't match with what was on the website. Overall not good, not bad. Best I can say is that my stuff arrived safely and prices didn't change. The CS booked the move without storage. The paperwork was sent back four times, and you can't communicate with anyone. I've been paying for storage for almost a year and called today to get a quote for my move fr California to Colorado. they want $14,000 to move my pod!! I spent hours trying to talk to someone on how this price can possibly be real. I was flexible withy delivery date and had quotes from uhaul and upack and still cannot understand how insane this is. This is more than professional movers, so after giving them money for storage for a year I refuse to give them more and have to go load my things into a uhaul and drive them back. I was quoted $3500 to move them a year ago. Even w fuel costs going up this is astronomical and shocking. You find a location, that is 9 miles from the estimated delivery location. You provide that information to the company who tells you that is out of our delivery area. Mind you, this container is coming 900 some miles across the country, but they can't cover the final 9?! You reach out to them they are supposed to have a manager contact you. The contact never comes, you have to rent equipment from another moving company to empty said container and reload items into a truck to reach your final destination. read more

I am a repeat PODS customer...the first time, which went flawlessly when I moved to Salt Lake City and more recently when I needed to store furniture during my home remodel. Pods quoted me a price which was somewhat better than the next best quote. Assuming that better quote was because I was a repeat customer, I accepted it and the delivery of the POD was effortless. Then things went quiet for weeks...I wasn't charged anything for months and then, suddenly and retroactively, I was charged for those several months at DOUBLE THE MONTHLY RATE I had accepted. And now, as I'm trying to schedule the pickup of the POD, they don't answer the phone. I've called repeatedly, and the SHORTEST "wait time" before they would pick up the phone has been 38 minutes! Today, Saturday November 1, 2025 your scheduling department called to say your Los Angeles facility can no longer provide same day service and that PODS must reschedule for drop off on November 3 and pick-up November 4. Please do not use PODS! There was no aspect of the service that was of any benefit. First, you have to get a quote before scheduling service, but I received multiple emails with different pricing, direct from PODS. I also needed multiple containers, but not all at one time. Their system was not set up for that, so you have to call an agent or chat with one. I had to wait 50 minutes to chat with an agent, they sent me a message saying hello, how can I help. I was typing my response and the agent ended the chat saying I did not respond. Time stamp was literally 1 minute apart. I have to wait almost an hour for them and they can not wait one minute? I finally got an agent and they could not understand that I wanted to add a container until I asked to speak to their supervisor. They give you notice the night before of a window, then send you several (I had up to 4) emails changing the window. really hard to plan to have movers help load or unload when you get the window less than 24 hours before. So, first POD delivered and picked up. Second POD scheduled to be delivered and I get a voicemail from a random number from another state. The driver said he could not find my house and could not deliver the POD. When I finally got an agent on the phone (after another hour wait), they could not reschedule delivery until after the closing date for the sale of my house. The agent told me the driver put in notes that it was too close to a gas line. My car was parked next to the gas meter, so they could not deliver to that area, but why did I get one POD delivered and picked up, with two different drivers, and this POD could not be delivered? I escalated because I had paid for movers to load the second POD, but had to cancel since I did not have a POD. $600 out of my pocket. They supposedly put in a claim, called me in a few days and left a message, but when I called the number, it went to a voice mail for a different person and said the mailbox was full and not taking messages. Now, final pickup of POD is scheduled, and no window is given. Agents are too busy to receive chats or calls. So let me guess, they are going to stretch this out so they can charge me another month of rental. No customer service, no recourse, not timely with delivery or pickup, nothing good to say at all. If I could have rated this in the negative, I would since they have added cost to my move due to their lack of customer service. Incredibly frustrating experience with PODS Moving & Storage (we are in northern VA). We had a container scheduled for delivery today between 2:15 pm and 5:15 pm. I received zero communication about the delivery today, so when 5:30 pm came and we still had no container, I spent an hour waiting to connect to a chat agent. The agent told us there was apparently a problem with the truck and that the new ETA would be 8:30 pm. When I asked if we would be compensated for the significant delay/lack of communication, he closed the chat without answering. I waited until 8:30 pm and we still had no container. So I wait another hour for a chat agent (the same one as before, I'm pretty sure) who tells me that the driver is still on his route but since it's past the delivery window they need to reschedule. The earliest available date is June 3rd, a full FIVE DAYS after our original delivery date. Before I could complain or escalate, he closed the chat again. The cherry on top is that I have TWO pending charges for the delivery but I can't do anything about it until I see if they both post. This has been the worst experience ever! Total nightmare! I initially scheduled PODS for a redlivery on 7/6 two weeks in advance, as I had been storing my POD for 6 months. I also coordinated with my movers to empty the POD on 7/7 to ensure they would empty the POD timely. I received an email from PODS on 7/5 indicating that "per my request" my delivery had been rescheduled to 7/7! I never rescheduled!! I called immediately and was told that without consulting me, PODS changed the date due to a shortage of drivers! I had to scramble with the moving company to change the date for unloading and was subject to a rescheduling fee due to the short notice! I was initially charged by PODS $209 for the redelivery fee, which was withdrawn from my card the day I scheduled the redelivery and was assured (because I asked) that this would be the final cost. However, the day after my POD was picked up, I was charged an additional $333.60!! I immediately called and was told that I needed to file a dispute. After the dispute was filed, it took a couple days for them to reply and that was only because I gave them a bad online review! After they investigated, I received a call indicating that there was a technical error on their end and I should not have been charged the additional amount. I was ensured that $333.60 would be returned to my account within 5-7 business days. However, after the 9th day with no refund, I called PODS today, yet again, to determine the status of my refund. The customer service rep told me his name was Jay (spelling it out as J-A-Y for me) and that the $333.60 had been CREDITED to my account--NOT REFUNDED! As if I would EVER use PODS again!! "Jay" said he entered a request to have the money refunded and said he submitted it for approval. He explained that once approved, it could take ANOTHER 5 and 7 days to show up as a refund on my card!! I asked to speak with a supervisor 3 times to expedite approval and each time "Jay" said a supervisor would be unable to help me. After demanding to peak with a supervisor the 3rd time, he finally agreed to transfer me. I waited on hold for almost an hour for a supervisor, but I refused to hang up!! The supervisor finally came on after I'd been on the line with PODS for an hour and 10 minutes. He said his name was Mark and referred to the the customer service rep that I'd initially spoken to as "JOHN", not JAY! I clarified, and he confirmed that his name was actually John!! He also said he "knew some people in Accounts Receivable" and would talk to them to expedite the processing of my refund. I told him I'd wait on the line for him to speak with them, since I wasn't about to trust him to handle it after I hung up. Upon his return, he said he had spoken to the department and I should see my refund within 2-3 days. Terrible Company, Incompetent and decided to charge whatever they want. We were scheduled to have our POD moved from our location to our new location and then two days before the scheduled move we get a call saying that it has to be rescheduled and then after several more phone calls and back and forth it turns out it is actually a long distance move and they won't be able to get it to the new location for another week and it's going to cost extra, so we just cancel it, get a uhaul, move all of our stuff from the POD to the uhaul and tell them to come get their empty container. (P.S. Uhaul is amazing - had no trouble with them whatsoever) We were quoted a $179 per month storage fee - not a first month discount a recurring $179 per month charge - and then after the POD was picked up and the order completed I get all kinds of charges for $369 and a random $319 charge, had to call/chat multiple times just to be offered a single refund of $369 and told the $369 was the correct charge per month and the $319 was a pick up fee - despite being told I wasn't going to get charged for them picking up the empty container and the invoice for the $319 cited a monthly storage charge as well not a pick up fee - and just had the chat cut off. Now I have to go through my credit card company to get my money back. If I could give them negative stars I would. read more

Terrible communication and experience through our moving process even after spending over 5000 dollars with them

I scheduled a PODS container for delivery on May 15th (today as I write this). I confirmed the address with one of the agents three days ago that they will deliver it to a storage unit, and that there is a 10' clearance. They confirmed they will send the notes to the driver. I never received a delivery time from PODS the night before, so I assumed I would get it this morning. I still never got a delivery window, yet on my account it is stated that it will be delivered today. I have movers scheduled to load the PODS container and have informed the storage unit front office about my move out. I also had three different people dropping off stuff to the storage unit to be loaded into the PODS container. All of this with an expectation that a PODS container will be delivered today. I call PODS and tell them I have not received any updates on delivery and am concerned. I was then told the container could not be delivered. I ask why, and they stated it was because it was a business address and that the clearance is too low. I asked why I have not been notified of this, and was met with confusion from the agent as well. He gave me an option where the driver brings the PODS container to the address and stays there, and within a four hour window we load the container, and then the driver leaves with the container. They then go on to say that they will be able to do this on Tuesday, and not only that, but they will charge me $700. This entire move out was time sensitive and I cannot wait until Tuesday. This is absolutely unacceptable, and to charge me an additional $700 for a mistake on them? I wasted my movers times and I wasted the storage unit and other peoples time, and now to have eat the cost of hiring movers. There was ZERO communication about the container not being delivered, no email, no phone call. I am beyond frustrated, and will never trust this company again. read more

I did not personally contract with PODS in Mesa, Arizona, but there was a POD container on the driveway when I took possession of my home. During removal of the container, the driver left large swivel tire marks across my driveway while I was present and witnessed it happen. When I contacted the regional manager, Steven, regarding the damage, PODS refused to take any responsibility. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue professionally, including requesting escalation to someone higher within the company, my concerns were dismissed and no resolution was offered. My advice to anyone considering PODS: read the fine print carefully. Based on my experience, if damage occurs to your driveway or property, do not expect accountability or assistance resolving it. read more

Their agents lie to get you as a customer. They claim you get a discount, but then it just stops the second month, and customer service claims there's nothing they can do about it. AVOID PODS!!! read more

Absolute failure. PODS moving and storage has been a nightmare! I have spent a total of 6 hours on hold and speaking with customer support agents and still do not have any resolution. They failed to deliver one POD, then they have rescheduled my pick up and deliver dates 4 times. All without my consent. At this point I have moved and the POD which contains all of my household items is still sitting in my driveway. The new owners are moving into the house and PODs is so overbooked they can't pick the pod up for weeks. If they actually pick it up when they now say they will it will be 15 days later than originally promised. By the time they deliver my items to my new location it will have been 1 month! They also have yet to refund any money so we are paying top dollar for nothing! No Value here. read more
