    Penne Alla Vodka
    Joce W.

They had a BOGO deal on Doordash for their Penne Alla Vodka pasta and Brazilian flan so I thought I would try this restaurant for the first time. First red flag was that it took them over an hour to prepare our meal, so our Doordasher was stuck waiting on the order. I was extremely hungry, so by the time our food arrived I was excited to finally eat. Unfortunately on my first bite, I was hit with an unpleasant texture from the pasta due to the sogginess of the noodles. They took an hour to prepare our meal so it's no wonder that the dish might have been sitting and soaking up all the moisture and became an abomination of texture. However, even if the noodles were not soggy, the sauce and flavor of the pasta was so horrifyingly repulsive that I tossed the dish after only a few bites. Penne alla vodka is supposed to have a bright orange/red sauce, and this restaurant's iteration of the dish leaves it with a very small speck of color. The sauce was almost white and was so watery that it did not even coat to the noodles. I was in disbelief at this point since it's extremely hard to mess up such a simple dish. I guess I have to also blame myself for trying to order an Italian dish from a Brazilian restaurant. The flan, however, was delicious and I have no complaints on it. They should probably stick to their Brazilian dishes and scrap the Italian dishes from their menu. Anyways, enjoy the picture of the dish at the bottom of my trash can.

Always yummy food from this spot. Their Coxinha is my favorite! Always flavorful and full of chicken. The empanadas are great as well, never skimpy and fried well.

Been a patron of this place for years. A decent Brazilian style rotisserie type place on a budget. Great location, but parking is tough. $8.99 per pound of food is always a great parameter for grilled meats. Delicious food, but sides could definitely be improved.

    Acarajé

Great food, once a month they have acarajé there. Amazing service. It's a go. It's a delightful food very well made.

Just came for the acarajé, since they only make it for 6 hours on the first Saturday of each month. It was good enough. But I'm so accustomed to the way it is prepared and served in Bahia. This is acceptable though.

Point Brazil in Astoria offers great Brazilian fare by the pound. They serve hot and cold buffet from breakfast to dinner. The favorites are bacalao with potatoes, olives and peppers, Feijoada and Tropeiro beans. They also offer various grilled meat on a skewer (Churrascaria) such as fraldinha, picanha, sausages and pastries with fresh vegetables salad bar. If you are overwhelmed by the extravagance of a buffet set up, the à la carte menu is available by request. This place is pristine and spacious. The tables are set for the customers to enjoy the outside view. There's very little interaction with the staff here since you get to grab your own plate, serve yourself and the lovely lady on the counter will weigh it for you. I am a regular at this place as my check-ins can testify.

My son found this place on Yelp while we were looking at colleges in the NYC area. it is good for a buffet, but not quite as great as we had hoped it would be, so i just gave it 3 vs. 4 stars. Items that were below my expectation are explained below. I would still recommend it, though, for the following reasons. 1. The folks who work here are friendly, sincere and just great. 2. It's fast. 3. The Brazilian BBQ beef (Picanha) and the sausage (linguica) were both very good. stick to these as the centerpiece of your meal. 4. Fresh veggies in the buffet. 5. Economical. I would avoid most of the "cooked and sitting there" stuff in the buffet. My son tried some of the roast-like meat that was there along with some of the other stuff and it was dry and buffet-like. Granted, we were there after 8pm and perhaps this is not the prime time to hit the buffet as turnover seemed to be low. Nonetheless, the gap between the meats that were fresh off the Churrasco (sp?) grill were the bargain here. Since your meal is charged by the pound ($6.99/lb. at this writing), you really want to optimize for the "good things" which are the aforementioned meat and fresh veggies. Of course, it's a bargain at this price so you could just tank up and leave the undesirables, but why? Another thing to avoid are the fresh juice drinks in the tanks near the counter. We found them watery and not very flavorful. Once again, perhaps it's one of those end-of-day issues, or perhaps we just don't get it when it comes to authentic Brazilian fruit drinks, but for my money, I'll take a water or soda next time. I have posted a photo of our plates captioned "Paul S dinner at PB". The restaurant is small, and decorated with items memorializing the homeland. I imagine if you came here while it was busy, you'd have trouble sitting inside. Overall, fast, cheap, friendly and reasonably good food if you pick the right things. Come here, but follow the narrow path to the BBQ.

Wish i had a place like this near me.. Cheap healthy Brazilian food, BUFFET Salads, proteins, salmon steak rice, they have everything for a decent price/lb Their brazilian specialties are my fav, like the Feijoada!! AMAZING (Feijoada - brazil's national dish, pork black bean stew) Tres leches is bad, flan is decent Definitely stop by Point Brazil if you want a quick, healthy affordable meal!

Yummy food! We have been ordering food during the pandemic and we have been happy with the food quality from this place. Despite the Brazilian dishes, this place offers healthy side options which is a big plus for people who are on a diet and still want to eat tasty food. Pastel de carne (beef empanada) is so good! We also like to order the Salmon with lemon and the Combination steak

Even in diet you could choose a good and delicious plate

This is a nice place to go for a many times with family and friends. We are going almost every night for dinner because Is cheap, good food, delicious, varied menu. The indoor decor of the restaurant is very nice and decor with Brazil stuffs. There were so many different selections of meat like skirt steak, sirloin, chicken, ribs, all of them delicious. The service was excellent very attentive and nice environment. It's not to loud and you can enjoy your food as you're in you home. The "salad" bar was great too it's not just a salad bar. They have lots of wide variety of things too as different cuts of cold cut Italian meats, cheeses, potato salad, greens, salmon, etc. Highly recommend for everybody. I suggest some TV to watch game or news, but its fine.

Copacabana is a no-frills buffet por quilo, which is self-serve and weighed by the pound. There are takeout containers as well as plates if you choose to sit down in their adjoining dining room or outdoor seating. Overall, it was a pretty chill experience and I liked the laid back pace. I got my feijoada and rice, along with some broccoli and an oxtail that looked pretty good and everything came out to about $15 ($11.99/lb for hot bar + salad bar only). Do not skip the rice and frijoles, the mango salad, or the potato salad, which is a full-on gastronomic delight and somehow tastes like someone's Brazilian aunt put her soul into it. The cocktails are another highlight. My wife had three and every single one landed. Big kudos to the bartender because that bar program is doing serious work. Dessert also deserves applause. The Brazilian cookie cake and passion fruit options are stunning, bright, and joyful, the kind of sweets that make you pause mid-conversation and nod in respect. Where things falter is the rodizio itself. The meat selection felt limited, and the quality just did not hit the mark for me. The restaurant recently transitioned from offering both traditional and halal meats to becoming fully halal, which I understand from a business and community standpoint. That said, as someone who grew up with a wide range of meat preparations, I can confidently say there is a noticeable flavor profile difference, and here it came across as flatter and less indulgent than expected. It felt like ordering a sports car and realizing it tops out at second gear. At around $150 for two with drinks, I wanted that wow factor, and it never quite arrived. For context, I enjoy places like Fogo de Chão, though I admit they sometimes overdo it on the salt. Still, I miss things like Brazilian pork sausage and pork bacon, which you will not find here due to halal certification. That absence is felt, especially for carnivores chasing that classic churrascaria experience. Would I come back? I'm honestly undecided. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who eats halal or prioritizes cocktails, desserts, and an excellent salad bar. For hardcore meat lovers, it may feel like a great playlist played at half volume.

Our waiter was friendly, attentive throughout the meal, and knew both the menu and specials inside and out. We started with the grilled octopus, house dips, and a thick-cut slice of bacon. The octopus was tender with a nice char, while the bacon delivered exactly what you'd expect from a steakhouse appetizer--simple, rich, and satisfying. For the main course, we shared a Porterhouse for Three and a ribeye, accompanied by mushroom risotto, garlic mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach. The steaks were the highlight of the evening. Both had an outstanding crust while remaining perfectly cooked inside. The porterhouse in particular showcased why dry-aged beef has such a following. The mushroom risotto paired especially well with the ribeye, while the garlic mash and creamed spinach were classic steakhouse sides executed well. I also tried a Negroni before dinner, which proved to be a great choice and complemented the appetizers nicely. The dining room strikes a balance between upscale and comfortable, with an old-school steakhouse feel that lets the food and service take center stage. Great for a special occasion--we were celebrating both Father's Day and a birthday, and the experience felt worthy of the occasion. For mains, we went all in with Christo's Signature Porterhouse for 3 (63oz/$185), Charbroiled Salmon, Baby Lamb special, and a Sea Bass special. The steak was cooked well and had solid flavor--definitely the standout among the entrees. The seafood dishes were fine, but again, not particularly exceptional. We finished the night with a selection of desserts, which were nice but didn't quite redeem the meal.
