They have a hot bar section with loads of protein options, a salad bar, and a section where someone slices up freshly roasted meat for you. There are takeout containers as well as plates if you choose to sit down in their adjoining dining room or outdoor seating. Overall, it was a pretty chill experience and I liked the laid back pace. This is my second time ordering the chicken stroganoff and plantains for lunch at my job. Trust me, this is so good, and the portion size is enough for 3 to 4 meals. My first previous order besides the chicken was with the kale salad, which was good as well. I switched up this time and ordered the string beans salad, and it's a definite can't miss. Tip - there's no tap water, so if you don't want to buy a beverage, bring your own. I got mostly the meats. I was excited for chicken hearts, but they were overcooked. When you walk in there's a salad bar and a hot bar with rotating pre-made entrees (salmon, shredded beef, turkey, oxtail, etc) and sides (mashed potatoes, rice & beans, steamed veggies). I like the salsa looking salad with tomato, onion and peppers. Adds some acidity to the meal. The sections always great and I haven't had anything that's been bad. However the best part is definitely the butcher section with all the meats rotating on skewers. You go up and they'll cut your protein at your desired quantity. There's usually chicken heart, sausage, chicken thighs and all kinds of pork loins and steaks. I think I had the sirloin (he asked me how I wanted my meat cooked, I told him medium and he recommended one) which was delicious. The meats are always seasoned well with plenty of salt. Always cooked well and never chewy. Don't expect anything fancy, pretty bare bone place where you get your food, weigh it at the counter and find a table to sit. Went in after party bus and lady told us first 3 is free ( I was part of a the first 3) and then all of a sudden i had to pay $40 for me and my partner to get in, then dj was not willing to change music since it is in a white demographic neighborhood regardless of knowing queens is the most diverse borough in the entire state. I'm honestly pretty disappointed by this place and personally wouldn't recommend it. Maybe it's better for dining in, but my take out experience was awful and has me never wanting to visit in person. I'm giving 2 stars because the stroganoff was pretty tasty but it's also loaded with oil and actually stained my shirt which I wasn't thrilled about; much of it also spilled over in the bag despite being plastic wrapped so was pretty messy. The grilled chicken and grilled steak were both very bland and VERY overcooked and extremely difficult to eat (ended up just having to toss it cause it was so tough). The French fries and fried yucca were both very soggy and not very delectable. The grilled veggies were ok as was the mashed potatoes but nothing to brag home about. Lastly, the "gourmet juices" are just glass bottles of juice, so don't let it fool you, these are not fresh squeezed juices.
