I have been a happy customer for 6 months, after initial concerns about storing my valuables outside Marin. The facility is EASY to get to - just a few minutes from the Richmond Bridge on the well-lit / traveled Ohio Ave, SECURE - with more cameras and monitors than my bank, and way CHEAPER - than anything I found in Marin. Intelligently and caringly managed by Jeff - who actually lives on-site, Jeff and Naomi totally "get" the stressors involved in moving and their service was personal and "spot-on" in understanding my needs, facilitating a smooth move-in, and engendering the trust and peace of mind I didn't think I could have at this price! Additional benefits include clean single-level units which mean you don't have to deal with shared elevators and long hauls inside some other storage facilities. They also have a box truck available for FREE to customers which made my 2+ bedroom self-move all that much cheaper and easier. It's still surprising to me to say that in my experience I've not found even a handful of businesses that "do" their business as well as Point Richmond Self Storage. RATE FLUCTUATIONS, LOCK RATES, SPECIALS DEALS, NO SECURITY GUARD. Im not recommending point of Richmond. While the facilities are new, the doors are flimsy metal, not very air or weather tight. The Facility is abandoned by the staff just after dark. Does not have a security guard. Most importantly -- After researching all the options in the Bay Area it did seem like Richmond has the most honest Policy, they claimed that unlike the other storage facilities they do not randomly raise their rates after you finish moving all of your items into the facility. However just like the other storage places all over the city, they too had a neat "rate increase" letter they sent a little over 4 months of move in. more than 20$ was added to my monthly bill. Im sure this is just the start of a wonderful rate raising relationship with me. If you are looking at this facility and they tell you their rates will not go up, think again and ask for that in writing. Your local storage depot will raise their rates and you dont need to drive to Richmond. read more

Point Richmond Storage is the best! I looked at storage places all over Marin and Richmond and this place is not only competitively priced, but is also by far the best place out there. It is spotless clean--from the office, to the units to the paved access. It has good drainage, no rodents, no break-in history. I feel safe driving through the neighborhood, my unit walls are metal and secure. It was the only place I looked at that I felt happy about keeping my stuff at. They have a good size truck that they loan out for free when you move in. The staff are exceptionally nice people. They are generous with their customers, and make you feel like family. It is rare that I come across a business that treats people with such generosity. They seem more interested in making their customers happy than trying to make a buck. We had mistakenly left our unit door open, and within hours we got an email letting us know that they had closed it and put a lock on it for us. These guys rock! read more

Everyone who works here is awesome. Jeff is great. The first four months are at a reduced rate, and plus they have a free moving truck to move all your stuff in! It is very clean, has good security, and the staff is great. I will definitely keep renting here. No other storage place is nearly as great as this place.
