I happened to be visiting San Diego and after a run on Coronado Central Beach lunch was on the mind. Being by the water I automatically feel like I have to try something with fish...so of course POKE! This was the first poke place that popped up and caught my eye. Small but fantastic restaurant open for takeout and delivery. I walked in with an open mind because each poke place is generally the same but all have their differences and perks. The staff member was very friendly and genuine and explained how it worked and offered options when I asked for suggestions. Servings are HUGE and she really piled up my toppings!! I got the regular (which is a "small" with two proteins) I'm telling you that even this regular was HUGE so i was amazed how there were two bigger sizes than what I got. But perhaps great to share?!? Also prices are super good. In Santa Barbara the prices are $3-4 more expensive and way less comes in the portions. So I was super happy all around. Great flavors and fresh fish! Lots of choices for toppings and you can get as much as you want for toppings. Hint: you can get 1/2 and 1/2 of two bases. Which I thought 1/2 salad and 1/2 white rice was great mixture. They also have sushi rolls, and other specialities called "wave" and "norritos". Would definitely try this next time I come. Definitely recommend coming here! Enjoy read more

I think they have the best variety of toppings including mango, macadamia nuts, edamame, avocado, veggies mix, sweet onion, cucumber and wasabi that is pictured. They also have fried onion, crab mix, seaweed salad etc . I also like their premixed sauces . They have Salmon 123 and Ahi Tuna which is special sauces. read more

Was on my way to The Henry at lunchtime, but passed by Poke' 123 and got pulled in by their tag line haha (Fresh, Fast, Healthy). I was hungry and had a feeling The Henry would take a while to make my food. Poke places can easily be a hit or miss because there's so many things you can get wrong, but this place does their poke well! Fresh fish (I got ahi tuna & spicy tuna) Fresh ingredients (They pile on the toppings liberally ) Good sauces (I got a mix of spicy shoyu and citrus ponzu) A little more about some of the toppings: The raw onion was a sweet onion so it wasn't strong at all, but added a great flavor to the bowl! Wish I had gotten more of it. The crispy onion added a nice crunch to the texture which I love. The jalapeño was actually spicy which I also appreciated. read more

Have never had the poke, but I can give 2 stars for their boba tea, sushi, and miso soup. Want some miso with your tofu? Tofu in the miso had HUGE chunks of it, may as well have just put the whole dang log of tofu in next time. Very powdery - I've had better instant miso than that. Boba was too big for the straws, would constantly get stuck. My cup was so full that I couldn't puncture my straw through the top. Sushi was "ok", nothing to write home about. Customer service was "ok" as well. The guy making the sushi was super nice, but other employees stood watching us for 5 mins before asking if we'd been helped. Perhaps it was just an off day, I understand these things happen. But unfortunately the likelihood of me returning and getting a better experience in order for me to increase my rating is close to zero. read more

We're we're in the neighborhood because we had tickets to Lambs Players and we used to eat nearby at a Mexican restaurant which is now Henry's but it was packed. This place is nearby (close to a great ice cream place called Mootime) and it's a small hole in the wall but new and when we got there, no one was there which doesn't always bode well. Surprise! This place rocks. The employee helped us right away and gave us some suggestions. The poke is delicious (the hubby and I had poke bowls with different kinds of fish and toppings). I had mine with salad and brown rice and the sauces were excellent. We had a local blonde ale which was fantastic. We sat outside where there was a small patio with shaded tables and good 70s music playing in the background. We watched people window shopping and walking their dogs which was super relaxing. I love Poke and I normally go to the one located in IB, but I stopped by Holland's bike to get my flat tire fixed and during the wait I decided to walk over to Poke 123. As soon as I walked in it smelled pretty rancid. I was greeted by the awesome employee and I waited at the front door while the other customer ordered his food. The smell was pretty bad which is why I took off just one star. As for my poke bowl it was delicious. The seafood seems fresh and tastes fresh so I didn't see an issue with it. The weird smell isn't going to stop me from coming here besides it's not like I'm going to eat my food inside the establishment. I did eat my food outside at a table. The tables outside are pretty close to each other so I made sure to steer clear from humans. The place is very clean and seems safe to eat. Thank goodness there's a poke 123 a bike ride away. read more

I was really excited to try this place for the first time when I saw it is down the street from where I work. I usually go to Panera across the street, but wanted to try a local business. The store itself is clean and easily accessible. There is a lot of outdoor seating and it is shaded. However, I wish the employee helping me was much more friendly. She was not very welcoming or seemed like she wanted to be there. I felt rushed to order and, honestly, just talked down to. I understand everyone has bad days, but I was the only customer in the restaurant and my order took maybe 5 minutes to make since I just got a poke bowl. When it was time for me to pay, she just directed me to tap on the side of the iPad and then walked away into the back and never came back out. It was just a very unpleasant interaction. I've worked in the food industry, restaurant and fast food, for 4 years and I know this is not how you are supposed to treat your customers. Then, when I got back to work to eat my bowl, there was a hair in at right at the top. It would take a lot for me to choose to go back here than try a different spot nearby. read more

Was craving some poke and found this cute poke shop! Service was superb but I didn't enjoy the nurritos (poke burritos) quite as much. The quality of the poke was alright - I wish I got the bowl instead for a more personal preference. The boba drink I got was melon. It was really watered down and overpriced ($6 without boba). Two poke burritos and a boba drink cost me $36 (including tip). I'd give this shop a chance again with just trying the bowl and sticking to water or a canned drink. read more

The location isn't the best and seating is limited, but this should not stop anyone from trying out a poke bowl. Love this place! My fiancé picked me up a volcano norrioto and it was great! It's basically all my favorite ingredients wrapped up in nori and sushi rice: loads of spicy salmon, spicy Mayo, and green onion. Really not a bad price for all the salmon you get, the Norritos are pretty massive. Their wasabi Mayo and sriracha Mayo is also bomb, probably the best I've ever had and the sriracha Mayo actually has a pretty good kick to it! read more

Cute little spot to stop for fresh poke in Coronado. The waves and norito sushi concept is very cool. The girl working was helpful as it was our first time and we didn't know what to get. Unfortunately the rating is based off of the waves and noritos we were served. There were very hard pieces of white rice in the mix throughout and it kind of dampened the experience. Not just firm but like old, stuck in your teeth hard. Tea was good, assorted mochi was also sweet and creamy. I would recommend to check out but definitely look at the menu before you go and make sure the rice is fresh. read more

It's a small local place that isn't a chain (yet!) and is super delicious They make your food right in front of you and are super friendly from the start. I tried the oishi noritto with their 123 Ahi Tuna and Salmon. I didn't have avocado in mine, super allergic!! It was SO TASTY!! Everything complimented each other perfectly and nothing overpowered any other ingredient. I was afraid of the seaweed not holding up as the wrap with all that filling, but I didn't have any problems eating it at all. Keep the paper wrapper around it and peel as you eat to keep your hands clean. My mother tried the waves and she said it was one of the most delicious poké's she's ever had! She didn't try the spicy one because she can't do spice (like at all!) She really loved the mango mix was her favorite! The waves were kind of hard to eat with a fork or picking them up without the paper, so keep the paper on the bottom and fold back as you eat. read more

seems great and if you do like that type of food then stop by, but keep in mind it's REALLY expensive. I might even say overpriced! I went to get a boba tea drink and it was 8 dollars!! I would rather go to Parrakeet Juicery and get an 11-dollar shake!! So disappointing!! Come for the food, NOT the drinks. The boba easily broke apart. So it was weird. The tea is okay. I've been twice now and both times service was fast and reasonably friendly. I would recommend the premium plain tuna and plain salmon. The first time I came I got the 1*2*3 poke tuna/salmon and it was very salty. Usually I would get the poke marinaded protein but it was very overpowering in my opinion. Second time I came I got plain protein (plus sesame sauce and citrus ponzu) and just drizzled some soy sauce on top before eating. Much less overpowering but still savory and tasty! Lots of sauces and solid variety of toppings. Vegetables/greens seem fresh and crisp. I like that they chop the salmon and tuna into small bite size pieces too. I've had large pieces elsewhere. Amazing spot - both the service and the food were impeccable!! I visited this evening, and both employees working at the time were excellent. I can't eat soy, so I had endless questions about the ingredients to ensure I didn't eat soy. The employee building my bowl was VERY patient with my questions and never made me feel like I was being troublesome; plus, he was so knowledgeable about every item! The other employee answered some questions as well, and offered me a bag as left (which was great, because we were walking to the beach to enjoy our poke). The poke itself was EXCELLENT- so fresh and flavorful.
