Horrible customer service and horrible poke. Came in around 12:45 for mealpal. Told them last time I came in my Poke was warm. They blamed it on the rice. Well this time I came in and I saw a large pre made stack on the counter. Granted this is the end of the lunch hour, so i always get a little suspicious when I see a bunch of containers left over sitting out. I asked the cashier when the meal pal lunches were made, she said around 10:15. So I clarified and asked, have those containers, and the one you gave me been sitting out on the counter since 10:15? You're about to give me poke that have been sitting out on the counter for 3 hours? she said yes. And then changed her answer to well, we rotate them (whatever that means) Normally the other meal pal restaurants i know make the lunches in batches, and when they are down to the last few they make more. So when i saw the stack of 10 or so, I had a feeling they just made a bunch of them at the start of the day and just left them out. I tried some of the crab salad and it was warm. I requested a new and fresh one, and the manager refused, i literally said all i want is one that has not been sitting out, and his response over and over again was that it was warm because of the rice, and then he goes , "what do you want". Not sure how my repeated request of a new poke bowl went above his head but his temperament and confusion from easily fixing this was profound. Brought it back to my office and Well to say the least, the octopus was slimy and def not fresh. Contacted mealpal for a refund and tossed the lunch. SOOO many other poke places in Seattle to visit or Hawaii if you have the $$. I've even been to the Poke Alice on 2nd ave that would make the meal pal when i came in so i knew they didn't make large batches at a time cause they would occasionally run out. Why people go here is a mystery to me. I tried poke Alice or the first time a few months ago. I've been to many local poke restaurants and never was forced to put sauce on my poke. No joke the person behind the counter told me that I had to get sauce or otherwise I could not purchase the meal. This place is so good! I went here for a weekday lunch and the line was pretty long but moved quickly. I got the medium poke with brown rice and salmon. They offer a lot of toppings which is great and the fish was fresh! I also got a side of miso soup that was boiling hot. I recently visited this joint to satisfy my weekly cravings for poke. I liked the selections that included tamago (egg), octopus, and spicy crab salad. I think other places don't have as much variety than this place. I had a large bowl with half salad and half rice, which was neat. There are so many poke places in the greater Seattle area now-a-days that I can choose to be a little more critical of which ones I will frequent. To be frank, this one is pretty basic. Once in a while, I will "poke" my head in if I need a quick bite since it is close to where I work. But I find the lack of flavors/sauces underwhelming. In Hawaii and many other Seattle poke shops, you will typically see several flavors such as spicy mayo and green onion sesame. Here, you only have the option of how much sriracha they add. read more

Went in for some poké with one of my friends. My biggest complaint is that you must get a sauce. So we get to the sauce part of building your bowl and after she has already put sauce on my bowl asks, "Would you like mild, medium or spicy?" Well I am celiac and so the sauce she just put on poké I couldn't eat. Why would you pump a sauce on poké and then ask what someone wants? Once I told her I couldn't eat the sauce, she rudely said, "But then I'd have to re-make this." Yes, you will have to re-make it because you pumped sauce on it before even asking about it. I would have been more okay if their website explicitly said that I HAD to get a sauce. This is a build your own poké bowl place. I am paying to eat the food so I should be able to choose to have a sauce or not just as I can any other topping. I will not be going back. read more

I was really excited for the spam tamago musubi....just popped in for a quick snack before my hair appointment since I was going early. Good poke spot. The fish was fresh (I got yellowtail and salmon), lots of topping options. You can also get greens or rice (brown or white) or half and half -- which is really nice. During peak weekday lunchtime, you will likely have to wait a bit but it's not too bad as they move the line FAST. It was ok, all the food in Seattle is overpriced and a little bland. The price is in line with other poke places I've been, but not as flavorful. Easy to find with large windows facing the sidewalk. I came here on a Monday night and it was totally empty, which was not a good sign. However, I was VERY happy with my food! This definitely up there for best poke bowls I've had. It was very fresh and I loved all the toppings. Everything comes with a giant delicious scoop of crab salad too. They had tons of options for toppings and bases, you have almost infinite options here and I would imagine almost anyone would be able to create the poke bowl of their dreams with what's available. Medium bowl is way too much food (even with half rice/half greens I have leftovers) and I don't mind the amount of sauce they put on. Helps the greens not be so dry!
