The owner was extremely friendly, asked where I was from, chatted for a bit about baseball and did not feel rushed in the slightest ordering my food as someone who's only had poke a few times before. I just want to preface by saying they do charge extra excessively for the most random things. I can understand the $2.75 for each ahi portion but charging extra if a customer selects 2 crab salads, or 4/5 of the available meat options, or 1/2 of the side options is a little much ontop of the $17 charge for the bowl to begin with. With that said, their poke was amazing. It was so fresh and flavorful. Their crab salad was also masterful, I have never had better crab salad than I did here. The first time I went, the lady serving us was lovely. She was super nice, answered our questions, and gave fair portions. The second time, a different lady was there... I asked if there was any cucumber kimchi left and she flicked her glove towards the sides, abrasively commenting, "idk that's all I have!" I gasped as I saw poke juice splatter the glass in front of me and meekly replied, "It's okay I'll have regular kimchi." As my friends and I reconvened outside we all agreed on one thing, that was the most abrasive confrontation we have had all month. All week long we've been trying different poke place. This place has good reviews so we decided to stop by. Its definitely set up for a carry out since the inside space was small and there were no seating area, which was perfect for us. The side fixings had more variety than I've seen at other places, such as kimchi and tofu. Initial price seemed decent, $15 for 1 scoop and $18 for 2 scoops. What got me was that most of the poke offered had extra $2.75 price tag, and so if you got 2 scoops, it was $18 + $5.50, which I think is hefty for a carry out place. I went here last summer right after landing in Oahu. We checked in to the Hyatt centric and immediately went looking for food. This was close by and we just wanted some poke. I ordered a poke bowl with a base of rice and their daily special, spicy miso ahi tuna, and topped it with seaweed salad, cucumber, and kimchi. The ahi tuna had an additional market price surcharge of $2.25, so the total for my bowl was $16, but this is probably the best poke bowl I've ever eaten. The only warning I'd give is the kimchi is strong and quite spicy. The service was phenomenal. I've always preferred salmon over tuna, but they've been out of salmon since the beginning of the year. I must've looked disappointed when I heard that, because the person behind the counter said she was determined to convert me to tuna and proceeded to give me a sample of all the fish options they had available. Everything was so yummy it was hard to choose, but I was especially impressed that she went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my bowl. I'm surprised by such high ratings for this place. Not bad, but we found it way overpriced and nothing special. The prices posted on the blackboard did not seem too unreasonable at first for this being in an expensive tourist area of Honolulu, but we found out that those were not accurate on the day we came. The prices were written in chalk, so the accurate prices could have been posted easily. I think there was a sign and the server also noted that the final price will be adjusted to market price, but no indication by how much. This meant that two, basic 2-choice rice poke bowls cost $49 total w/tax, but without drinks or anything else, when the posted price for each 2-choice bowl was around $17. The poke was minced into very small pieces, and the 2 scoops of poke per bowl were also quite small, the flavoring/sauce dominated more than I would have preferred over the fish. Other poke I've had in HI came as larger chunks with less saucing. The sides were also small additions though each was interesting and tasty. In the end, most of the bowl was rice with a bit of poke and sides. Not nearly enough poke for the price for me even in expensive Honolulu. 3 starts for the friendly service and for this being a small business, which I'm sure makes it hard to keep costs down, but not being up-front on price is a negative for me. read more

I waited in line for almost 20 min with only 3 people in front of me. I understand they have online orders to take care of, but lack of efficiency is a big barrier for me to enjoy the experience.
