Went again yesterday with the kiddos after their first (half) day of school. The girl and I ordered small poke bowls ($15.99) and the boy ordered the sushi burrito after complaining (yeah, I know) about how he didn't want a small bowl. Let me just tell you that the small is plenty. It comes with two scoops of fish; I typically get double salmon because the salmon is so good. And you get a bunch of other stuff in there. After choosing a base (white or brown rice or a salad..I usually go with brown rice), I next usually choose seaweed salad and edamame and go with all of the toppings and a couple sauces at the next two topping stations (crunchies, green onion, thinly sliced cucumber, fresh jalapeno, etc.). I typically let them suggest the sauces; yesterday I got ponzu sauce as well as a shoyu sauce that was suggested. Then the items are delicately mixed by (gloved) hand and the bowls are handed over to you with a side of wasabi, ginger and packets of soy sauce. We decided to eat out on the large patio out front since it was such a nice day and it was lovely. Truly a great, healthy and reasonable lunch for $15.99, I'd say. Visited Poke Me for a quick dinner pick up and noted outside was a large crowd with live entertainment. Had excellent music and learned this happens every weekend. Not sure who organizes this buy it is amazing and makes me want to go back at some point! Back to reviewing Poke Me.....service was great. The lady who helped us was friendly and very patient. We purchased the large Poke that came with 4 protien scoops for $20 plus tax. We chose 1/2 brown rice and 1/2 white. 4 scoops of protein which were small but sure not a big deal. For our sides, we opted for seaweed salad and edamame and topped it off with Ponzu and spicy mayo. Wish they had added more ponzu but i didn't pay attention when this was served. It's nice having a poke place in golden cove. The service is fine, the ambiance typical for a poke place, and the poke is fine also. More detail on the food- it's the typical subway / chipotle style assembly line. You go down the line and choose your protein and toppings. I think quality wise, king poke in lomita is a bit better...but the convenience of this establishment is nice and makes up for the gap in proximity. There are tables outside should you wish to enjoy the weather... or the point Vincente park is just around the corner and has picnic tables. read more

This is the worst poke I've ever had in my life. I honestly don't understand how this place got so many good reviews. I ordered the Signature Bowl from Uber Eats -- the bowl was tiny, and even then it wasn't filled up. There were only about eight small pieces of fish, and they tasted really fishy. Workers used to be passionate about service. But as a customer I'm extremely disappointed that I'm now paying almost $30 just to get LESS amount of food I used to get for less than $20. Today will be my last visit. Not only was I denied a sample of the (spotty) tuna. I was given some of the most pathetic portions of everything. The tuna has always been questionable, which is why I asked for a sample. Could be lack of training, could be lack of customer service knowledge. Regardless, I'm done paying for it. I ordered a LARGE bowl with a EXTRA side of rice AND extra side of crab meat. I went back ask asked for the smallest bowl they could give me. And what a surprise, it fits damn near perfectly. This is absolutely ridiculous that I'm paying double the amount of a small bowl and getting the same portions. With respect, the rich people in this area probably won't bat an eye, but the supportive customers who have been here since day one will. THE BEST POKE IN THE SOUTH BAY!!! I have been coming to poke me for years and I hope this place never changes. The fish here is SOOOO fresh and they always have the best toppings. I have been to almost all the poke places in the South Bay many times and consistently say poke me is the best. My favorites are the yellowtail and tuna, alone with the seaweed and crab salad. I love a mix of the truffle shoyu, spicy mayo and some ponzu. Don't forget to get crispy garlic and onions on top!!! They are a must. It's a casual restaurant where you order up front and get to choose your toppings as you walk by, with some seating indoors and outdoors. Came into pick up an order but the store manager and worker said they didn't have the order. I showed them the receipt, and they said no, we don't have any order for doordash and quickly showed me some screen that had nothing on it. Ok, that's weird. on my email receipt is shows up as John. Here is my "confirmed ready to pick up email" .. this time they are like. oh ok, its fine, here is your order.. well duh, i paid for it, have a receipt email, have the credit card used to pick it up. I'm not trying to run some kind of mortgage fraud or identity theft, this is a damn poke bowl that has a different name on it even though I have all the documentation to prove that is the order. It was a big hassle and I don't think it should have been this difficult. yes, it's a different name on the order, but when you furnish, your credit card used, the email receipt with the detailed order, and the company you purchased the order online through, i figure that should be enough, but no. I personally believe that good food alone won't necessarily = a successful business. The fish here is great, I won't deny that. I've gotten the salmon and really loved it. The spicy crab and the fried garlic and fried onion is also delicious as is their rice! The biggest problem I have with this place is their pricing, portion size and service. Firstly, it's $13.99 for a MINI bowl. With the tiiiiiniest scoop of rice and an even tinier portion of fish. It's seriously the smallest portion I've ever seen at a poke place. It tastes GREAT so the pricing is really unfortunate. Secondly, the Asian man with tattoos who either manages the place or works here is SO RUDE. I dealt with him both times I've been here and both times he is very rude, curt and could give a hoot about customer service. I asked him a question and he just pointed at the board. If I ask for extra sauce he acts like I'm asking for his firstborn child lol. Just a really unpleasant experience dealing with this man and from the other reviews it seems that there's another person who works here with an even worse attitude. Delicious, fresh food customized to your order. The guy behind the counter was super nice about answering all my questions the first time I visited. The miso soup is tasty and you can add seaweed to it if you like. The medium bowl includes your choice of 3 proteins and unlimited mix-ins, sauces, and toppings. It was extremely filling as a meal, especially when I chose edamame and crabmeat as my 2 sides. Maybe next time I'll choose the small bowl instead. The sweet strawberry green tea was very sweet and includes your choice of popping boba pearls. I typically don't like popping boba, but these actually tasted quite nice in my drink. I just had a pretty gross one. My tuna was cheap tough cuts and CLEARLY going bad (it had that rot funk flavor starting), the imitation crab was super low quality, and the ponzu tasted heavily watered down. No flavor at all. And then there's tiny ice cream scoops with the scale--it all feels like a place that's trying to slash overhead to improve profit, and the effect is like the poke equivalent of Taco Bell. It's not the best poke in South Bay. Whoever thinks that needs to eat around. There are better places in Redondo and Hermosa. This is just the only one in PV. And more generally it's some of the worst poke I've ever had. And I've had it everywhere. I won't be going back. read more

Hi! I have tried calling your location today 10 times to speak with the owner and manager with no luck of anyone answering the phone. So I am resorting to leaving you a message about what happened yesterday. I walked in to the store at 7:29pm to order my poke bowl. Upon walking in, there was a girl working there who told me that they were closed. I asked what time they closed at and she said 730. I asked her to tell me what time is currently was and she said 7:31 PM. I noticed that all the food was still out and they still had yet to clean up and close the restaurant so I asked her if she would accommodate me and allow me to order a bowl she replied with, "no, I have a life and things to do". I was completely flabbergasted by her lack of Customer Service . I asked her , "if her manager was available for me to speak with". she said, "no., but we are closed so leave now". I was debating whether or not to say anything - but kids these days are not taught manners or customer service. So I proceeded to let her know that I had worked in customer service for years and that her response was absolutely unacceptable and not the way you treat a customer. Her response was, "this is how you're talking to a 17-year-old"? I asked her what her name was and she said it was Mac. I told her that I would try to call her manager so that her manager could help coach her with working with the public and customer service because what she showed me was absolutely awful and disrespectful. There was a guy working with her and I looked at him and apologized for him having to work with her. I am so disappointed by how she treated me, it was appalling. Also, if you were closed the door should have been locked. I hope you train and teach this teenager how to work with the public because because I refuse to give money to a restaurant where I will be getting treated poorly. This is my first time here. My son and his girlfriend were in town and one of his favorite lunch food is poke. I can't say poke is my favorite, but I must say I was quite pleased with this place. We were able to pick and choose the carb, protein, vegetables and as well as other extra toppings. I had a small size with brown rice and mixed salad, tuna and tofu, cucumber, pineapple, masago, seaweed salad, edamane with ponzu and sesame sauce. I also topped it with sesame, nori, and corn at the self service bar. They were very generous with their portions and I was more than satisfied with the small. This place did change my perception of poke and I will definitely come back again. We drove 20 minutes out of the way since there were great reviews. It was empty at 1:50pm & we'd noticed the happy hour poster on the front door. From 2-5 M-F the poke is a couple dollars cheaper. We debated waiting the 10 min but went to order, it was awkward since we were the only ones there. We mentioned we were waiting for happy hour. He laughed & charged full price. Poke, Tap House Beer, Fish Market, Trader Joe's, Starbucks etc. I got oysters from the Fish Market. I ordered the white sushi seasoned rice but got hot brown rice instead. It was good but started to cook the fish. Most ingredients are fresh and tasty. The fish seems to be lower grade not the flavor and texture of sushi grade but good enough. I was dissapointed they don't have hot tea because it was a cold gloomy day. Neither their website or Yelp noted their Happy Hour. Even if you're super hungry, 2 scoops of protein is enough for even the biggest eaters. I highly recommend the salmon and spicy tuna. It was the perfect mix. Couldn't be happier to find this local gem! I definitely appreciate the ability to fully customize these bowls because many other spots limit what you can pick. This was a completely customizable poke bowl with fresh, delicious ingredients -- YUM! I was seriously craving salmon poke and the medium bowl more than hit the spot. The rice was perfectly cooked and still warm... the amount of salmon was generous and more importantly, good quality... and having my choice of so many toppings allowed me to make my version of a perfect creation. Definitely can't go wrong here. All of the other fish options looked great as well, so I'll definitely be back to try other versions. We were exploring around the PV Peninsula checking out some trails and overlooks. I remembered seeing that there was a poke place nearby and we headed over to Poke Me. It is located in a shopping plaza where there is a Trader Joe's and a Starbucks. It's right next to the Tap House which is craft beer, pub-style restaurant. This is during Covid so there was no indoor dining but thankfully there were some tables outside so we were able to sit down & eat the poke bowls. A mask is required to enter the establishment and social distancing signs are on the floor that were easy to follow. The poke bowls were good and the ahi, tako and salmon we selected for our bowl was fresh. There are a good amount of options to top your bowl. The base options were white rice, brown rice and mixed greens. Priced decent considering it was the only poke spot for miles. Service was friendly, careful and efficient. We certainly appreciated that. I liked that they had Hawaiian Sun canned drinks in the self-serve coolers. I got myself a Hawaiian iced tea and it was perfect with some poke. It made for a refreshing meal. Plenty of parking spaces out front in the common parking lot. This is a good place to have some poke when in Rancho Palos Verdes. read more

Solid poke joint. I feel like poke shops have become such a hit or miss for all kinds of reasons. As a repeat customer to several places, I've noticed many shops try to cut corners eventually. I have not noticed that here with Poke Me, so kudos to them. I usually go for a large with 4 protein choices - that will run $14.99. Perhaps a little more than some of the competitors elsewhere, but I attribute that to paying the PV tax. You certainly could do a lot worse. Store is clean and organized. Employees have always been friendly. Pandemic regulations in effect, including face covering required for service. This is the best place!! All of the options are super fresh and so delicious! The staff is so great, and they make recommendations to create the best flavor mix for you! At the end, you can top off your bowl with a self-serve topping bar. Also, join their rewards club to get free food! If you come on a holiday it is also discounted! The portions are generous, but it's so good you'll want to eat it all! Definitely one of my favorite places so far! They even have a macaroon bar for dessert! Basically how it works is you get to choose proteins you want, rice or lettuce, toppings, and sauce. 4 stars strictly for food. The foods pretty decent. If you're from the 626 area they do things a little differently than we do. Basically they charge things separately compared to the area where things are normally included. Fish was fresh, variety of drinks, ample parking with a trader joe's across the way, sell macaroons Not sure if i was trippin or not but the worker that greeted us kinda made us feel unwanted like she just wanted us in and out asap. we were new to the place and a big group so it was hard to see the menu while trying to social distance. she kept repeating and sounded more annoyed each time when we clearly needed time to order.
